The staff were super friendly and helpful with recommendations. The order took about 20 minutes and we had a drink outside while waiting. I HIGHLY recommend the shrimp and grits. Over anything else on the menu! And I was told the gnocchi was amazing too iAnd of course the pizza is awesome!”

“I loved everything about this place! We got the banana macadamia pancakes and guava steak, and everything was SO good. 🥰No complaints at all, just a genuinely great experience from start to finish.

The service was amazing, too! Everyone was so sweet, and even though our server had other tables to take care of, she still checked on us and made sure we were good. We never felt overlooked, and that really made the experience even better.

The desserts and drinks are bomb! We tried the guava cake and this ube drink, so good! The music was on point, too, and the whole vibe was just perfect.

Honestly, this is such a great spot for birthdays or any special occasion. Between the food, drinks, desserts, music, and the people, you really can’t go wrong. I already know I’ll be celebrating my birthday here and probably many more birthdays to come. Definitely a place worth coming back to! 🤗”

While planning I came across Ale Arsenal. Made my first trip and had a great time. Not only great taps of IPAs but also stouts and barelywine. Tara was a great beertender, professional, good knowledge of beer, conversation. Overall just a great place, will be back on future trips.”

“I'm sure you'll find plenty of New Yorkers who, on principle, will exhibit nothing but disdain for any bagel that's made outside their city, but for me House of Bagels delivers a product that's consistently what I consider to be close to if not the quintessential bagel; fresh baked (on site), soft chewy interior, thin crispy crust, mildly sweet malty flavor. Plenty of type/flavor variety too, even pumpernickel which seems to be getting harder to find these days. I was really concerned this place was going to be negatively impacted by the pandemic, but I'm glad they survived.

One note: While there are a few outdoor tables, don't count on there being a place to sit, especially during busy times.”

“I have purchased a large amount of root beer, multiple kegs, for a youth event that I operate yearly. This root beer tastes great and fits a palate for teenagers and adults. The company is absolutely fantastic to work with and has provided great customer service. I highly recommend them for your small batch rootbeer needs. My wife likes there Ube Beer. 👍”

“This is definitely a hidden gem in a small strip of San Carlos. My bestie took me here for a birthday dinner, so it was as my first time. The sushi is so fresh and everything we ate tasted delicious, melt in your mouth!!! The staff was fun and had great energy! My only caveat is they were not pacing the dishes and it felt a bit overwhelming. Especially since we were the only ones I. There for the longest time. We loved the attention, but yeah, the attention to timing needed to be present. I would recommend this spot to anyone though. It’s definitely cute for a date night of any kind, but also remember you are in San Carlos and not the city, and this is not in the downtown part.”

“Moved to the bay from Kansas since 6 years ago and I’ve been on the hunt for some quality bbq in the peninsula. So far, this place takes the cake.

Got myself the 2 meat combo of ribs and brisket and each of their sides. Decent portions and enough for two people with some left over.

Ribs was fall off the bone, nice cuts of the brisket. Bbq sauce is pretty good and one of the workers had us try their hot sauce and man, that mixed so well with the bbq”

“I randomly found this place on Google Maps. It looks like they might have opened recently.
It’s a little confusing to figure out where the entrance and parking are, because you can’t really see the café from the road. The area is surrounded by offices, so at first it almost seems like there’s no café there.

But it turned out to be a great find. This was honestly the best sandwich I’ve had in America in the past 3 years. The bread was perfectly toasted and crispy, and the ingredients were fresh and very juicy.

The coffee was good as well. I also tried a pastry — the croissant was incredibly fresh”

The milk tea boba is great, but the Super Fruit green tea with passion fruit popping boba is next level. “I'm happy to come to Tea Hut again, especially after the Millbrae location closed. The appearance of the menu was a little different, but the drink selection, at least when ordering from the tablet, was as I remember. Glad that could stay consistent. I ordered a Boba N' Milk at 75% sweetness. At most boba places I usually request 50%, but Tea Hut (or maybe just this drink) is already not too sweet to begin with. Although Boba N' Milk sounds simple, they do add a bit of syrup to liven up the taste and the pearls which come with the drink also add flavor. The drink was also just as I remember. You can't really go wrong with Tea Hut.

The atmosphere was also nice and consistent to the location I used to go to. I wish it was a little bigger so there was more seating, but that's out of their control. Overall, 4/5.”

“Subway San Carlos served me an excellent Spicy Italian made just the way I like it. Mine came on Italian Herb and Cheese bread that was perfectly toasted. Drink on the side was a Dr Pepper, and it was also perfect.
Atmosphere is pretty standard for an older location that has not been updated in many years. The tables , food counter prep area, floors and windows are clean and neat

Parking in front and back.

The one strike against Subway in San Of Carlos was the bathroom. It was obviously not cleaned well for at least a few days. No hook to hang a jacket. Sink drain empties VERY SLOWLY. And when I visited I first had to clear the plugged up toilet and give it a light cleaning before I could use it. Would never had sent kids in there alone because of the lack of upkeep.

Close to the San Carlos Transit Center for easy SamTrans and CalTrain access.

Except for the restroom, I count this Subway visit in San Carlos California as a win.

You may want to stop by yoursellf for some well prepared Subway food too.”

My friends and I sharing snacks (as much as our pooled change could afford that day) while sitting on the stairs before our brutal treks up the SC hills home. No cell phones. No rides. Lots of fun memories & great friends. Decades later I’m back in the neighborhood and while much has changed, the Little Store hasn’t (it even smells the same). Still friendly owners, and still a convenient stop when driving home or on neighborhood walks for sweet treats, a six pack, or essentials. And for many of us nostalgic touchstone.”

“It’s more like cafeteria style. It’s a bit too casual for me because it’s a dim sum place. You walk up to a screen and punch the items you want and then tap to pay and you pick an available table and the waiter will bring your food from the kitchen. Everything is paper-plated or plastic containered.

Now the positive, the food has a very Cantonese culture to it. I had spareribs over rice, a rice wrap thing, and some real pork buns.

And, oh, no hot tea. All cold and sweetened teas in a bottle.”
