“This is everything a Vietnamese sandwich shop should be. #1 or #3, iced coffee, a produce box on top of a milk crate for seating, and soap operas on the tele. It's a food stall. Nothing more, nothing less. Walked out of there with 3 Bahn Mis, iced coffee, and a soda for $25 (not including tip; don't forget to tip). Actually, I walked out without anything because...soaps operas. Just left with a memory of what I wish I had at home“
“This is one of situations where I "found" this place again after many years. Used to come her back in the 80s when I worked in this area. Almost weekly. Great big menu, lots of great sandwiches, soup, chili and even dessert. Meatless sandwich options too. Ordered the Tomato Bisque Soup, an amazing Turkey Avocado on focaccia and a Pastrami Sandwich, on rye made the traditional way. No pickles. Great little shop, family owned. When he described his father I knew that was the man I used to order from back in the day. Walls show plaques and pictures showing their contributions to the community such as sponsoring many baseball teams and a proud sponsor of dozens of Rose Bowl Parade floats. A grade, clean, plenty of seating but for the most part I think people get it to go. Still can't believe it's been here for this long and I was here 40 yrs ago. . Yelp hours are incorrect, better call and see. Also closed Sunday and Monday now. Prices were very cheap, however the owner stated the menu is changing soon. Seems like this is the last place to raise their prices like everyone else's. Def worth a visit. When back the next day and got a Tuna Melt which was also good. Best around. Nostalgia helps“
“This hole in the wall is amazing. The sandwiches were delicious and fresh. They have a diverse menu with different ingredients and breads. Their house made smoothies and drinks were so refreshing. I highly recommend this place and am very excited for it to be part of the HP community.“

Also a lot of veggie options and customization in the app. This will become a fairly regular place for us after recent visits. “Oh gosh, a South El Monte Classic! Had lunch with my grandma here on a Thursday afternoon, wasn't too packed, but the weekends can get intense! I hadn't been there since years prior to pre-pandemic.Their empanadas are to die for and their submarine sandwich is delicious. My grandma really likes the new york style sandwich and the milanesa one is tasty too. I haven't tried their new style of waffle fries but their regular seasoned fries from the past were tasty- I'd imagine these too are very good!My grandma has lived in SEM for over 30 years, she reminisced when titos was only a food truck and there was no plaza surrounding it. “Than Huu makes an excellent Bahn Mi. The baguette is perfect, the ingredients are simple and fresh and there are basically two items on the menu. Bahn Mi and soup; the do have a drink and tea menu as well. The service is very kind, friendly and gracious. Than Huu does have little stools and tables in the middle of an asian bazaar in Chinatown.“

“Super great place. Came here for the first time yesterday to get some donuts for my coworkers and everyone loved them, I especially loved the crumb donut. Came by this morning and got turkey,egg, cheese croissant sandwich and it's huge, delicious, and very fair price! The staff are super friendly and very pleasant in the morning. It's really nice coming in the morning and being greeted by them. The guy working there in the morning was also very helpful and accommodating when I asked him to just give me a random assortment of 2 dozen donuts. “Few places surprise me, this one was one of them. We ordered the Ira glass with turkey, which was amazing. One sandwich was enough for two, a bite full had tons of flavor. We also got the pepper flavored chips, which tasted home made, lacked the pepper flavor. However, they were still very good. They have plenty of food and drink options. This place closes early, so you need to get here early. Parking can be hard, and seating is only available for a handful of people. But the experience is worth it.“

Guess it must be the inflation dough kicking in. Donuts were nice and fluffy and they have a drive thru! Reminds me of another nearby spot not too far (hint). I didn't have a chance to check out their entire menu but I saw drinks as well. Maybe next time on the beverages. Service was quick as I used the drive thru to get to a meeting. “I liked this cute coffee shop because it’s so calm and serene “mountain living” type of feel in the forest tundra type of California living place…feels wonderful to sit down in the outdoor sitting with the solid color awning umbrellas and the “basket woven material” chairs that remind me of Paris coffee shops. Parking was so pleasantly available and there wasn’t much city fuss, no crazy noise, no people trying to push their agendas just coffee, food, birds and cutesie mountain living….sigh“

“This is my favorite Bondi place in the San Gabriel Valley. I would get this multiple times a week if I was a little closer. It’s cash only but the prices are extremely reasonable, especially in 2024. my go to is the barbecue pork. My wife gets the pork belly and adds barbecue pork. Also, I really like the green pandan bread they sell. There are no seats or anything. It’s just a takeout place but they do a great sandwich. The bread is baked fresh and it’s not stale. The meat is good. The veggies are good. I definitely recommend.“
