“Hands down the best thai restaurant in Bay area! We others 5 dishes out of the menu- drunken noodles, papaya salad, lab tofu, pad thai, pineapple fried rice and all of them were 10/10. But be prepared to wait atleast 15-20mins to get seated. They might not entertain you after 9pm even though they closes at 9:30pm. So better to go anytime before that.“

“Excellent Thai restaurant.Well located, easy to access via car (lots of parking) or transit (522 and 22 stop nearby). The food is good, and the menu is extensive without feeling overwhelming. The seafood is fresh and masterfully prepared. The soups are particularly good compared to other Thai places nearby. The only downside is that I would say that the medium level spice is barely noticeable, so if you like spicy food, ask for spicy. However, they offer low or no spice versions for those so inclined, and I believe the medium spice would be perfect for people trying great Thai food for the first time. The service is truly superb. I have never had such good service in the US. Service like this truly improves the atmosphere of the restaurant as it's impossible for someone to be in a bad mood! The prices are very good compared to many spots in the Bay area.Thank you for the food.“

“I recently dined at bistro siam restaurant, and I must say that the papaya salad was incredibly fresh and tasty. The flavors were vibrant, and it was a great start to the meal. The pad see ew was also bursting with flavor. It really hit the spot. Overall, the food was fantastic, and the service was top-notch. The only downside is that the place is a bit outdated, but the delicious food more than made up for it. Highly recommend!“

“This food sent me into another dimension. Upon finishing my bowl I felt loved, happy, and at peace. This is what food is for. We got the catfish curry and steamed green beans. The catfish curry was crunchy while enveloped in creamy curry that was only highlighted with bell peppers and eggplant. The green beans tasted like a dessert it was so good. I forgot I was eating vegetables. Not only was the food astounding, the atmosphere matched the heaven I was transported to by the food. Beautiful decorations and plants surround you, and music floats through the room. I will come back again and again. New favorite restaurant.“

“White Elephant offers a good selection of Thai cuisine, with classic dishes like pad thai and pineapple fried rice, to chicken satay and other fried delicacies and much more. In classic Thai restaurant fashion, many dishes vary in price based off of protein of choice, typically: chicken, tofu, pork, beef, shrimp, etc. The food is well seasoned to my palette—I’m not a big fan of salty food and this hits just about right. I love spiciness that is more than detectable, so while the dishes themselves did not tend to be hot, chili is offered upon request! Both the pad see ew and basil fried rice were good to me and my entire family of five’s taste. The pad thai was a bit lacking, but still quite good. The protein focused dishes we ordered—Fried tofu, crispy fish, chicken satay—were all very good and served with sauces. Slight tangent: My mom had a minor complaint that the tofu was not as aromatic as the tofu she gets from the supermarket, but she’s also an insane chef. Personally, I’m a curry eater and curry they served: I got the red curry—featuring red curry, bamboo, protein (I always get chicken) and veggies. I asked for additional eggplant. This was my favorite, but again I’m a curry fiend and apologist. The curry was deep and rich, thanks to the coconut milk that was very aromatic and fresh—as if the curry was made to order. The eggplant was beautifully braised, soft and custardy. Again, another perfectly seasoned dish that was good both standalone and over rice. On service, we arrived about an hour before closing and dipped into closed hours, but the one waitress was incredibly deft, kind, and patient. My mom is a bit of a hard customer at times, but the waitress was so sweet for taking our order and getting my mom the hot water she wanted. For a restaurant with two staff members, order was insanely rapid. Honestly, the service is on par with the work of a fully staffed restaurant. The restaurant itself is cute and cozy, set up like it’s meant for cozy homely meals to share with a couple friends at a time!“
