“I don't live in Santa Rosa any more, I haven't in ~20 years but I grew up there and EVERYONE knows Sam's! I was in town for the holidays and went there for lunch with a friend. The menu is enormous and while I was tempted by the all day breakfast, I landed on a French Dip sandwich that I had been craving. If you are anywhere in the area, stop by, you'll be glad you did!
Kid-friendliness: Family friendly restaurant - be sure to check out the staff's name tags! Reminded me of my first job working at Camp Wa-Tam. ;-)“

“I rate based on expectations. Classic diner menu, we tried the French burger, cheeseburger, fries and onion rings. French burger and rings were awesome. Portions are large and prices are better than average. The woman who helped us was a total sweetheart and very welcoming. Highly recommended for classic diner experience“

“Good service, super cozy. Lots of food! I love the chicken fried chicken (its like chicken fried steak but with chicken) with egg, hash browns and an English muffin! Always have leftovers, my husband gets the polish sausage and cheddar omelet with country potatoes and a biscuit with a side of gravy. Side of gravy is $4, so a little pricey. But tasty satisfying food“

“Eddie's kitchen, the food was excellent. I had chicken alfredo and a desert to die for. It was the chef favorite dessert. Eddie Jr. was very polite and very knowledgeable about the items on the menu. I love Eddie's kitchen. I will go there again if ever in Santa Rosa.“

“Been waiting to go for months. Finally went and the food was absolutely amazing but we never where checked on. I just wanted a water and salsa and was looking the whole meal for an employee. made eye contact with our server and she ignored me 3 times, then brought our check and said you can pay whenever. not even how was the food. my husband had to get me my water as he fully finished his food while I was still trying to stall because I wanted salsa on my 25$ omelet. 😕“

“This is the best picture I’ve taken of a meal anywhere. The food was sooooo good that I couldn’t take a “before” picture, only an “after”. This was grilled avocado. I didn’t even know one could grill an avocado, nor did I know that an avocado could be improved on. Now I know. 😋“

“The place was super clean and the staff was very hospitable. The food was phenomenal I really didn’t expect it to be this level of quality and taste, but it was definitely a 10 out of 10. The soup was delicious and my salmon sandwich was cooked to perfection.

“Sept 2025. Only 62 reviews? It's a 5-star review for a 70-80s style diner/cafe.
The Warm Puppy is a cafe built into the lobby of the Redwood Empire Ice Arena. The arena and cafe were built by Charles Schulz. A museum dedicated to the author of Peanuts is across the street.
A table dedicated to Charles (Sparky) is set aside with a 'reserved' sign waiting for the talented - but humble - genius to arrive.
It's a cafe folks. It's just fine for what it is.
We ordered sandwiches with fries. They were good and reasonably priced. Staff had trouble with English, but they created delicious sandwiches in a timely manner.
What else do you expect?“

“Mikey, at the bar, is stellar! Greeted us immediately, was very professionally friendly, and maintained good conversation. Drinks came quick, and food fairly quickly after that. I loved that the breading did not take over the breaded chicken.“

“outside looks like a flower shop with flowers outside for sale. Inside is a super WELL decorated place with antiques. Their scones, cakes, focaccia are popular I think the focaccia is just OK since I've had better ones in SF and Italy. However, MANY people rate the focaccia as very delicious. and crazy about it. If you are nice to the cashier, they sometimes, purposely dug up the biggest slice for you. (no I didn't ask) This bread is tasty that it doesn't need cheesze. Call before coming if you don't know their hours. I didn't see any signs outside that indicate when they are open. The lady/cook/chef is very welcoming. I personally think the decorations inside are way above average like a designer studio or something. Decorations changes of course. Not sure if the decorations are for sale, but for the right price I'm sure it can be bought.“

“The service was great for a walk up and order place. The woman was pleasant and polite. You eat outside. The burger and onion rings came out, and the first thing I saw was a big fluffy brioche bun. It felt like it was baked earlier that day. The burgeer was thick and juicy. Very good burger. The onion rings were crispy and the onion melted in your mouth. If you are in the Santa rosa area eat here. They also have ice cream.“

“Highly recommend making this a must stay place if you’re in the Sonoma area! The resort is so funky, fun and makes you feel special while you visit. The vibe at the Lazeaway Club is awesome. The food is mostly shareable bites, the cocktails were delicious. The DJ on Sunday by the pool left us wanting to stay longer! The best thing about the resort is the staff! Top notch and we can’t wait to visit soon:)“

“Good food. Friendly service. I really enjoy going here.“
“The food and service here are overall great. This place has the BEST grilled cheese and tomato bisque soup. I know what you're thinking ... that is so easy. This grilled cheese is so much better than what you can make at home with its fresh sourdough with parmesan, cheddar and mozzarella, plus an added homemade cheese sauce. The tomato bisque is so rich and creamy. I have to stop myself from ordering multiples. It's the ultimate comfort food.“

“Joey’s Pizza Restaurant and Gary’s Belvedere Bar 727 Mendocino Avenue and College Avenue Santa Rosa, California Down the street from the Junior College Pizza combinations, homemade meatballs, thick beef with bean cheesy chili fries, and baked sweet cheesecake in an old vintage house with high ceilings made of dark wood? Where is this place? Downtown. This place exists. Special thanks to our hostess at the Pizza restaurant upstairs Miranda! She was amazing. Her personality and conversation about the bar Belvedere added personality to the already breathtaking restaurant. The bar with a bistro in a city that closes early? Yes, bring a party for the large round tables or sit at the bar. In the Sonoma County Wine Country right next to Santa Rosa High School and the Junior College, you have a high volume bar pouring whiskey, tequila and brandy with a pizza oven upstairs serving chicken wings, fresh Sonoma County style Cobb Salad, baked mushrooms, garlicky pesto, a taste for everyone including those who want deliciously ugly, tasty, nasty chili cheese melted Monster style. We still think about the chili fries hours after eating. For months since I moved to Santa Rosa from Las Vegas, I have heard about the Belvedere from people at the gym that replace protein powder with high intensity intoxicated cocktails on Friday and Saturday night, but I didn’t care to indulge underground as much as I wanted to eat pizza with Italian sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, before going down into the dungeon. The place is popular. Miranda helped us out like a Santa Rosa tour guide. She told us about the bars and their personalities. We had a great meal hanging out in the restaurant before mixing drinks downstairs. Santa Rosa is lucky to have Belvedere. The bar keeps people from driving to San Francisco in the rain the weekend. “Shout out to Chris the manager who went out of his way to accommodate us. We are Hyatt members and thought we could use our club access awards. Unfortunately this particular restaurant is its own identity and therefore they don’t allow you to use the awards. Chris however made an exception and allowed us to use them. It was a very busy day with a bit of a wait but we were really taken care of in an amazing way. Thank you!“
