“still here at the moment. this place is a cozy, hole in the wall establishment. the smash burger they have here is intoxicating all on it's own, it literally melts in your mouth. I added some fries on the side and my drink of choice was the natural red wine. I paired these fantastic options with the outdoor seating that is located in the back. I chose this place because it's within walking distance of where I live. I'm glad it's nearby, because I'll be coming back again. It's my first time here by the way. 5 out of 5 ! Also, let me add that the music playlist they have in rotation is curated perfectly well. Good vibes to say the least.“
“Ordered the Ortega Chili burger with steak fries to go. It is a solid burger, tasty, and they wrapped the lettuce, onions, and tomato separately so it didn’t get mushy during the ride home. Loved it!The steak fries were not so tasty. Maybe old oil or whatever, but I think I will try their onion rings next because those steak fries missed the target.“

Call ahead if you’re trying to play during the week because of league. Utilize the online system to reserve a table on Friday’s/Saturday’s or else you might be waiting a while in the evening for a table. Tables are taken care of and it’s clean. All in all, good place. “I have re-discovered Pal Joey's in the neighborhood I grew up in. You'd think there'd be a line down the street and a cover for the fun I had. It is in a local sweet spot of Grantville on Waring Rd and is still what a good bar once was in San Diego. The bartenders are spot on taking care of business while neighborhood friendly. Live band 90 Miles Per Hour was fantastic. Surprised to speak with a woman who rattled off the names of the other kids I grew up with here.“

“The staff is fantastic, the pool was free and the drinks are original and priced right!Parking: I was informed the tow truck doesn’t check the Arco parking lot abutting Gilly’s building until 7:pm. I’ve parked there often to do work and never any problems. Always blaze before 7pm!“
“The alexadilla is a California burrito wrapped in a quesadilla and you can clearly tell it is a quesadilla which I loved. It wasn't overly loaded with just fries. There was a good mix of everything inside. The meat wasn't SUPER flavorful but overall the burrito was good. The red and green hot sauces were both very good and had nice flavor. The girl who took my order was so nice and personable and definitely wanted to make sure you got what you wanted. Inside was very clean and the had seating for to-go orders that wouldn't take up the seating for people trying to eat there. The music was a notch louder than I would prefer but not unbearable. I will definitely go back to try some of the other items on the menu.“
“I really like this sandwich shop and love that I can get a small sandwich and soup and it'll can be stretched to two meals. The sandwiches are fresh, the breads, meats, and they are not shy with the veggies. They also have a great selection of soups that is hard to find these days. You can order ahead online or in-person- either works and the service is fast and friendly.“

“So glad that I finally made it to this bar after living in the neighborhood for so long. I'm also very glad that I came in with a regular who knew a person or two as this has a very "locals" feel to it. First thought that ran through my head was that it was much bigger than I had expected it to be. I didn't even make it to the other side of the bar, which is also sizeable. Service was quick and there were a few folks playing pool on one of the two tables that I saw, (there may be more) and it had a nice outdoor space for patrons to go to for a quick smoke or two. Prices were average and the people were friendly, and for that, what more can you really ask for in a neighborhood bar?“
“We love this place. Food is great, reasonably priced, and the staff are always kind and easy to order with. We like it here so much we had them cater our kids birthday party and the rolled tacos were a hit. Our favorite dish is their big rolled tacos and their albóndigas!“

“It's a dive bar so it lacks ambiance as expected and the service is ok at best, but none of that really matters because what really makes this place spectacular are their crispy, juicy, flavorful buffalo wings. I don't know what they do to make them so delicious but if they told me their secret was rolling them on the ground in the back alley before dishing them out, I would still eat them. Wherever you're at in the county when you have a craving for wings, this place is worth the drive. Just don't eat them there. Order to-go and eat them in your car...unless you're in the mood to watch or be in a good old fashioned bar fight, then stick around.“

Joey, Lila (also bartends at Paradise Lounge), Cynthia and Darren are staples and very welcoming.
