The ambiance is a perfect blend of folksy and traditional with carved wooden furniture and ornamental decór laid about in a fashion not dissimilar to what one might expect to see in an old guard Dixieland dining room of a grand home in the southern United States. The seats, tables, and flatware were all exceptionally clean and the restroom areas were also noticeably well-kept. Service was top-notch with polite and pleasant staff readily available at every turn. Food was served within minutes of placing our orders and came out piping hot with generous portions and no room for regrets. We ordered the Chicken Dinners, which come with three pieces of perfectly crispy golden fried chicken along with two sides and a dinner roll. My order included mashed potatoes and gravy, macaroni and cheese, and an extra chicken drumstick for $1 as part of the Friday Special. The potatoes were rich and smooth. The mac was creamy, oozing with cheese, and it had a perfect bite to the pasta. And the dinner rolls were as to be expected. I could not have been happier, as this place satisfied my every craving for southern comfort food without all of the off-putting qualities of a standard, fast-food chicken spot. Busy on the chicken left the fries cold but still nothing left to take home. The chicken was fresh from the frier as one was bubbling on the table. Teared up one of the breast and juice immediately drip onto the plate. I wore eating clothes every time I go to GUS to refrain from having ruined clothes to regret later. The chicken was fresh and the raisins really gave it the extra flavor. They REALLY FILL the pita! My friend got the Quarter Chicken Plate (Choice of light or dark, with hummus, wedge salad, pickles, pita, chili oil + garlic sauce). They substituted the pita for the Schmaltzy Potatoes (Crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside). It was a big portion and could have been shared. Will definitely be back!“

“Searching for something good to say about my experience at Los Pollo Sabrosos, I think it's safe to say that it made me appreciate El taco and El Pollo Loco a lot more. If you enjoy tastelessness, overpriced chicken burritos, you're gonna love this gem. And from the few pieces of chicken that I found in each bite, I feel like at some point there would be a flavor or texture I could embrace. Sometimes a salsa could be a game changer. But not in this case, as the salsa was even more bland and tasteless than the chicken burrito. so there's no need to worry about spicy food here, you will love it. I'm not sure if it's my imagination or if it was really there, but occasionally I would get a hint of char taste from the barbecue. The most redeeming quality of the plate is the small, 2 tablespoons of salad, or seasoned lettuce with some tomatoes and onions. That's if that's what you want to call it. I also had 3 chip pieces which weren't so bad. Oh, the effort to pick 3 broken chips from the bag and toss them into the container is admirable. Such an attention to detail and 3 is a lucky number. The roasted jalapeño, which makes me not take for granted a roasted jalapeño anymore either. It tased like a roasted jalapeño and I was pleasantly surprised. I would consider it a skill to be able to produce such a bland tasting, texture cringing, morsel. Not on the menu and no price: chicken burrito Chicken tacos Chicken fajitas Tri tip plate Chicken quesadilla My burrito was 12.58 after tax I'm very fortunate to get a chance to come and try the chicken here. They have a relatively new street sign that says "vegan" and when I went inside, they explained that just about anything that is listed as chicken on the menu can be swamped out with fried/breaded cauliflower (and they also swap out the mayo, honey, etc. with vegan replacements).My wife and I split the Nashville chicken wrap and the portion was so big that we didn't even finish it in one sitting. Everything was 10 out of 10. There were just delicious flavors...the sauces were next level, the cauliflower was cooked absolutely perfectly, the breaded part of the wrap was grilled and just enough to keep it wrapped and you barely noticed the bread part because they don't cheat you out of a super-stuffed filling. The waffle fries were freshly made and perfect.Based on my first impression of their menu, I thought perhaps they just had a couple vegan items they threw on there just to cater (which is nice of any establishment - not complaining :) ), but here they really, really actually care about making a delicious meal. I loved each one of them. Definitely tasted very authentic, I thought for a second I was in Mexico. The cashier failed to tell me that is was an upgrade, so she just charged me anyways....
