“The Black Marlin is one of the best spots for oyster lovers in OC! I came here for their Monday all day $1 oyster special. In some $1 oyster restaurants I've been to, prices were cheap but the oysters we received were tiny. That was not the case here! I was surprised by the size and quality of the oysters, and it did not feel like they sacrificed quality for their oyster special. The service was quick and pleasant as well! Just some quick constructive criticism: stinkiest restroom I have ever been in ?. Overall, I would still highly recommend The Black Marlin for some nice oysters.“

“The food is amazing. Very authentic pizza and the homemade pastas are unique and flavorful. The only downside on the menu is dessert. There is a hazelnut chocolate torte that tastes waxy, the panna cotta is good but not great and they add a lot of unnecessary toppings like black sesame seeds, and finally the gelato was icy, not creamy. I won't stop coming here because of the dessert but just be forewarned. If it's your birthday just hope they have tiramisu which is often the dessert of the day and quite good. Also, I don't understand the need for club music. It takes away from the ambiance. We always opt to sit outside where we can hear one another and they are more than accommodating.“

The servers were very accommodating to different diets (someone in our group was vegan and someone else was pescatarian). There were various options for all! We also enjoyed a couple of rounds of drinks. They were all delicious! The restaurant has round tables that make you feel like you are eating at home. They also have outdoor seating. “This was my 2nd time here. First time was for drinks and dessert which I loved so I decided to come back for a birthday dinner. We had no problems getting a table for 5 on a Saturday at 7pm. We were seated in the back room. The atmosphere was very Vegas lounge like. They even had a dj come in at 8pm to play. The service here was really nice. Food and drinks we loved too. Unfortunately, they only release reservations a few weeks at a time & as soon as my desired date was available, it was already fully booked. Since we were staying in the area, we decided to see if they would take walk ins. Unfortunately, the hostess said that they were fully booked for the night. I was super bummed & was ready to walk away but decided to ask if I could put my name down in case there was a cancellation. Fortunately, she said if we came back in an hour, she could take us in before the next resy came in. Score! We had dinner at their neighboring restaurant & waited until we got a text. The space is super neat! It is dimly lit, they had a piano player in the corner, & cozy. We went in February so their drink menu was love themed. I recommend getting something from their seasonal menu & their regular menu so you can taste the best of both worlds. They make their cocktails delicious & strong. The bartenders are friendly & gave awesome recs. They also serve apps here.“

“Visited Blvd Cocktails for the first time last night. My wife and I had a great time. The music was just right. The atmosphere was friendly and chill. They have weekly raffles. We bought $10 worth of tickets and won $50 at their 11:30 raffle drawing. Our bartender Alisa was awesome. She was welcoming, friendly, and made some great suggestions for our drinks. Alisa's friendly service is definitely a reason we will return for more drinks and to sample the menu.“

The layout is so unique - when you walk through the "front door," you're still outside; stairs take you down to an outdoor patio with a beautiful large tree in the center. There is a bar out there, though it's been closed whenever I've been, probably because I've never gone during the summer. Once you've reached the patio, to the right is the real front door Lol. Step inside & you'll see a casual typical pub to the right, down a couple more stairs, windows will be open to the patio with favorable weather. To the left of the main entrance is a cozy, mahogany, more formal dining area complete with a fireplace. This layout alone is enough to enjoy a drink or dessert, but the food I've had was delicious, too. I love the "Black Bush Stew," which is a delicious beef stew (generous chuncks) with a dollop of mashed potatoes, 2 lamb chops & a shot of Black Bush whiskey! It's no longer on the menu, but I last went in February & our server was amazing - friendly, funny, & accommodating - & had it made for me anyway! I haven't been on a night with live music, but that would be icing on the cake. Love this place!“
“Angelina's is absolutely delightful and delicious! There's a lot of good food in Irvine, but this is a spot I definitely want to go back to. My chicken entree was some of the best cooked chicken I've ever had; it was a huge cut that was succulent and juicy. I was a bit worried about it being flavorless since I got the Calabrese sauce on the side, but even without it the taste was decadent. The salumi board and cheeses were also a hit, as was the burrata. I definitely stuffed myself with cheese and do not regret it in the slightest. I will say my drink wasn't the most exciting, but for one drink I definitely felt like there was a good amount of alcohol in it. Service, especially with drunks was also a little bit slow and they were bringing out drinks 1-2 at a time, but we had a large party on a week night and it looked like the bar only had one worker so it wasn't a big deal, I am understanding of that! All in all I really liked this spot and want to try more of their menu.“
