“I was impressed.the portion was perfect.the food was pretty good.the package was good too, reusable bag smart?they did not worry about how much soy sauce or wasabi I took?they even gave me more.the wasabi was wow but good. will be back soon.Vegetarian options: You have optionsKid-friendliness: Well he warned up later, maybe tired. He Still human, sometimes you have to understand just cause at work might not feel good alot going on show appreciation they at work.they will notice.Parking: It's ok nice size“
“Ideally I would have to say I would give Robin a 3.5 stars. Upon arriving to the restaurant, it was storming outside and there were no signs for us to find the place. When we entered, we got greeted by friendly staff members and got seated. I think what makes Robin a bit more unique compared to other omakase places is that you can choose your own price range and the chefs accommodate with what you had picked, but in my opinion I would have preferred them to give a set price to choose from. Inside of the restaurant was beautiful, I loved the interior design, but if you're looking for a quiet/intimate omakase experience this is not the place for that. Music is pretty loud and the parties around us were talking with their outside voice , which I didn't mind because like I mentioned the vibes at Robin is definitely more casual. In terms of the quality of food, I would have to say, while everything was super fresh and good, nothing stood out to me. On top of that, every omakase I've been to so far, I would have been full 80% in but we left Robin still hungry. Our total came out to be $470, and I would have expected to leave full. I wished they had taken out the potato chip nigiri and the noodle dish, because I would have preferred to receive more fish. The nigiri that was part of the courses was super small, and as I mentioned, while everything was good, I was not amazed. Still highly recommend if you've never experienced omakase before, only tip is to book at the bar seating bc you'll get the full experience that way.“
“Friendly staff. The food is great and the portions are good. They give you a lot of stuff when you order a bento box. The sashimi is good quality, nice, thick, and fresh slices. I would recommend this place if you're looking for Japanese food.“
“Greeted with amazing service from beginning to end. We brought a little baby and forgot to bring our scissor to cut the food into tiny bits. The kind waiter gave us one to use, and without asking gave us extra napkins, a cup with a straw, and a baby bowl. Is the waiter a parent too? Because he gets it! We appreciate the gesture! Food is delicious too, of course. We went back several times. :)“
“First time trying this location BUT it felt very familiar since the interior was similar to the Oakland location. The nigiri combo also started at $25 for 7 pieces with the options to pick more expensive fish. Scallops and toro are available for no additional cost here as well. Honestly, a great addition to the area. Highly recommend their kurodai, aka black snapper, because they sear it very well.“
“A gem of a restaurant tucked away in Castro Valley. Took my mom here to celebrate her birthday and had a lovely experience. The chef and the staff were all super attentive and kind, and even provided some complimentary sips which were like nothing I’ve ever tasted. This was our first proper omakase together, but it won’t be our last. Everything was prepared masterfully, super fresh, and very tasty. We even opted for a couple of extra bites which were well worth it. Dining like this is a nice treat once in a great while.“
“As soon as I sat down at the table, I received free fries and green beans. Today, I ordered a dinner box that included pork cutlet and Godzilla rolls with my friend. First of all, I was surprised by the amount of food, and the food was so delicious that I ate everything even though I was full. This is my third visit to this restaurant and I think I’ll be a regular customer. I‘m very happy with the service and I was charged just $35. Totally satisfied! Cost-effective restaurant!!“
“Small place with about 6 tables. We went for lunch on Sunday and there was a short wait. You order at the counter and food is brought to your table, water and hot tea are available to serve yourself. WOW! The rolls are HUGE and very reasonably priced for the size. I love the menu with a large variety of rolls, sauces and combinations to try. Most importantly the fish was fresh and everything we ordered was delicious. I definitely recommend the Phoenix roll. This is not close to home for me, but I'll go out of my way to come here for my sushi fix.“
“This place is SO GOOD! Some of the best sushi I've had in the area. HIGHLY recommend. Rolls are amazing and filling. We got (from left to right) the Honey Walnut roll, Baked California Roll, Monster Roll, Hot Momma roll, and Lion King. All were PHENOMENAL.Vegetarian options: They have a few different rolls without fish.Parking: Easy and free parking.“
“Great food, clean and nice place and warm staff. I ordered it for lunch on door dash and I liked it so much that I brought my kids for dine in the next day. The steak, curry noodle soup, shrimp plate, their salad and the peanut butter dressing were amazing. The plates are decent size and heartily.“
“I heard that this place opened recently, which is about 1.5 years now. The place looks alright since that’s how a Japanese restaurant typically looks like especially if it’s small.I was quite surprised how big the serving size is from the Chicken Teriyaki dinner plate (didn’t finish it). No wonder it’s expensive. The food tastes fresh and nice, but I honestly believe that they should lessen the salt of the edamame. Also like the taste of sashimi and California Roll.“
“Gotta love small places like this where the owner is on deck and takes pride in his restaurant. Value to price was awesome. Bunch of Stanford students drive out here probably for this reason. The lunch sashimi bento box was outstanding. Cheers and ty for having “
“I thought it was seaweed sushi, but it was literally a piece of pocket sushi, like a rice ball. Although it was less than the average American food, it was full and tasty. The amount was just right for me.It felt a bit expensive for the price, but it was a light and satisfying meal.“
“Thank you Ichika for presenting us with a really special night!!The servers were friendly and perfectly escorted us between dishes. I really appreciated our server helping us choose a sake: letting us taste some and recommending a carafe of our favorite. Also, since we sat at the sushi bar, we got to know the chefs! They were delightful and watching them prepare the courses was a bonus.I was very happy with the meal! Each dish was delicious and featured interesting, varying ingredients. While my favorites are always sashimi and sushi, my date prefers warm, prepared dishes. This menu suited us well since we had some of both. The atmosphere was lovely and clearly well thought out. The lighting was just right to see our beautiful plated dishes! We’re looking forward to returning in a few months. The chef said the menu changes every 3-4 months.“
“I just discovered this amazing place and I am in love with it. The food is delicious and satisfying. The restaurant itself is amazing with lots of indoor and outdoor seating, a full cocktail bar, and a very large sushi bar. Please go check it out cuz it is cool and a great find in Castro valley, California.“
“I LOVE THIS PLACE. THIS IS THE BEST SUSHI RESTAURANT I HAVE EVER EATEN AND NO OTHER PLACES CAN COMPARE. I've been going to O'Sushi since I was really small and I still do now. Super warm and friendly staffs. SUPER YUMMY SUSHI. I would definitely recommend trying the Lion King Roll, Deep Fried Philly, and the Udons. SO SO GOOD. EVERYTHING IS SO GOOD.“
“This sushi restaurant has some of the best sashimi in the Tri Valley. The staff are extremely friendly and it sort of a small town diner vibe with lots of regulars and friendly smiles upon entering. There are a couple of very interest specialty rolls and other sushi specialties that are worth trying, and their happy hour specials on beer are hard to pass up.“
“Food: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Price: 3.5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5 TL;DR: This place has such a cute, traditional Japanese aesthetic -- most of the seating are regular tables but they have a tatami styled seating that fits larger groups. It does get a little chilly in there are lots of fans that are running throughout the restaurant. The service is great, everyone was really nice and patient. The quality of the fish is really good -- comparable to some of my favorite sushi spots in SF but does fall on the more expensive side. But for a restaurant in San Leandro, it's such a hidden gem. (also their wasabi is so good and strong, big fan lol) Nankotsu: *5/5*: Fried chicken knee cartilage. This was so so so good. If you like cartilage, you must try it. The batter & seasoning were delicious. It's pretty much like standard chicken karaage with pieces of chewy, crunchy cartilage pieces. Wish it came with some sort of sauce or aioli (but sauce isn't needed) Tuna Carpaccio: *4/5*: The tuna is delicious -- really fresh and soft, melt in your mouth. Pairs really well with the fresh greens and citrus-y sesame garlic dressing. The tuna was really thin and for the price, would've been nice if it was thicker. Salmon Sashimi: 4*/5*: 3 pieces of fresh soft, tender and melt in your mouth salmon. Can't go wrong with this (kind of expensive though) O Toro Nigiri: *5/5*: Such thick buttery soft pieces of tuna. The sushi rice was pretty good as well but not the best ever. Throw some wasabi on this and it's the perfect bite. Sunset Roll: *3/5*: the spicy crab and pieces of sashimi on top of the roll was good; however there was barely any tempura shrimp inside the roll. Some pieces either had just tempura batter (no shrimp) or such tiny pieces of shrimp so it feels like you're eating veggies, rice, and the fish on top. Also wished there was a sauce drizzles on top. Chicken Skin Skewer: *4/5*: pretty good, crunchy yet chewy. But for the price, probably won't order it again unless I'm really craving it. Pork Belly Nigiri: *2/5*: the pieces we got were way too overcooked so it was super dry and tough to eat -- disappointing that it was that bad, especially given the price too Tempura Udon: *5/5/*: this is SOOO good. we loved how the udon noodles were actually thinner than typical, and it was super soft yet chewy. The broth was perfectly savory and so addicting. Tempura is fried really well and it came with a "sauce" which was essentially the broth with grated radish in it. Would definitely order this again, we were so impressed.“
“A bit heavy on sauce/ seasoning with A5 wayu dinner plate. The nigiri premium is pretty good. Good place for casual dining. The decor in house is absolutely charming. However, one thing I'd like to mention is that I love the artwork carving out "Kyosho" on the wall with the light shining through it. However, I would recommend considering laser cutting for a cleaner finish, it is hard to unsee those rough edges when paying close attention to decor details.“
“A hidden gem in EPA! This place is pumping out awesome food! We came in a group of 7 people and sat down pretty quick. We sat outside in the patio seating and it was very nice a cool breeze came through there and the decor was nice. We looked through the menu and started to make our order. The food was good the vampiro tacos are on point I loved the shrimp ones very good! The sushi rolls they had were also smack! Enjoyed the salmon roll we had. Beer and seafood you can't go wrong with that! This place is a must try spot right next to Pal market on university before you head to the bridge. Thank you to the friendly staff and awesome chefs in back!“
“This is one of those whole in the wall. The food is good! Ingredients are fresh. It’s the fresh ginger that did it for me. I’ve ordered take out, dine in multiple times. Just know that if you dine in, they’ll serve the food in paper plates. Which is fine, I guess. So don’t expect an aesthetic look. Not this place. It’s simply a good place to eat. Period.I like that they have Poke and a good selection of sushi. The spicy edamame isn’t very spicy, but it’s yummy! ?We ordered the dragon roll, the Lion king roll, and fried California roll.“
“Stopped by for lunch at around 12:30 on a Wednesday. There was no wait. Water was provided extremely fast. Ordered the sushi regular: 7 piece Nigiri and 6 piece CA roll, and a miso soup. It was delicious. Some of the Nigiri had toppings including pickled wasabi and avocado. Everything tasted super fresh and each piece was plentiful. -No skimpy skinny fish pieces. Even the CA roll was good. Looking forward to coming back.“
“This place was great and had good food but not enough for five stars tbh. Some of the food items are great and some are okay and need a bit more seasoning. Sometimes it's hard to get the attention of the staff. Some of the items are a bit pricy.“
“I had a great meal with my friend here last night! Service was fast and the food was delicious with a lot of unique rolls. I ordered a salmon skin hand roll and the Flaming Dragon roll like last time, which came on a plate with blue fire. Special shoutout to Leo, who was an excellent server that went above and beyond! Will definitely be returning.“
“Second time in two months. Love this place. Tonight having the teriyaki tofu with soup, salad, and rice. Cubes of silky tofu on a bed of lettuce and shredded cabbage with vegetables. The vegetable tempura appetizer plate was perfect and lasted only a few minutes. Partner had the cherry blossom. Yummy! Great service. VERY clean restaurant. Tucked away in the corner of strip mall near the Round Table Pizza. Dining area in back big enough for a team lunch or dinner“
“We came here for our family Easter lunch and glad that we were seated right away. We opted the table with stone grill for yakiniko, since we can also order sushi there if we want to. We opted for the Omakase Stone Grill Meat for 2-4 persons. It came with wagyu beefs, toro, short rib galbis, prawns, squids, pork belly cuts and sausages. The set also came with wagyu beef clay pot rice. We also ordered miso soups and ahi poke salad for starters. I think the portions were generous and the food tasted great. Clay pot rice was mom’s favorite, though it wasn’t served in a clay pot so no crispy rice on the bottom like I was expecting. Our server was very nice and attentive without being disruptive. Definitely would go back again. However, a constructive criticism for the management. Pls keep your floors and bathroom clean at all times. It was just 12 noon and floor was filthy and bathroom smelled like puke. These are what customers usually notice and will judge the cleanliness of the entire restaurant!“
“I haven't been to this place in a long time (years to be exact) until today! My friend treated me to lunch and I recommended this place because I remember how good it is! We both ordered the Salmon Teriyaki bento box. The salmon was huge unlike other Japanese restaurant I have been to. And it was delicious! The box had so much that my girlfriend and I could have split one box! We had plenty of leftovers. They also have a huge selection of sushi rolls. This place is a "must try" if you are in the Fremont area.“
“this place is such a hidden gem. my friends took me here because we wanted sushi and although it's located in a sus plaza the quality of the food was a hit. the place is small with 2 servers running around but we got 2 free appetizers while we waited for our sashimi and rolls. this place is very generous with the portion at an affordable price. i liked that they have fresh pineapple at the end of the meal to top it off.“
“SooooGood! Food is so fresh and delicious. Customer service is perfect!I ordered Ton Katsu and it was crunchy outside and still very moist and delicious inside.Salmon sashimi is very fresh and the portion is perfect and filling. Truly authentic Japanese flavour. Will make sure to stop by next time when we go to Fremont!“
“I was craving sushi so I came to naked fish. I ordered two rolls, a philadelphia roll (you know a familiar favorite, it was excellent) and a Jackson roll (super duper delicious). They were both so good and fresh! I had to order a third which was the iron Man roll. Excellent excellent excellent. Service is spectacular. Super nice people, super chill atmosphere. Nice contemporary art. feels like a homie place. I will be back soon to try out the kitchen foods!“
“Really good poke, lots of options for how you want it and the fish is fresh with solid portions. Can be pricey though- a large bowl alone can be like $25 with tip. Funny atmosphere to be eating Hawaiian originating dish to some Bad Bunny at a mall where every minute someone is walking in demanding to eat their food they bought somewhere else in the seating area. Just a bit of a wacky atmosphere to recommend you eating in the mall lol“
“We have ordered "to go" in the past and decided to check the restaurant. It was cozy and clean. We ordered Bentos and a couple of rolls (Rainbow, Blossom)The food was delicious!Currently our top Sushi spot in Hayward ?? Parking: There are multiple free parking garages that make it easy to walk to the restaurant.“
“Minami has got to be my family's go-to sushi spot, and for multiple reasons. The people here are so kind! They are patient, friendly, and so accommodating. It is clear that they are loved and appreciated by the community and regulars and it just makes the restaurant feel so much more welcoming and inviting. The food is also delicious. I love the fried oysters and their tempura, and every single roll I've tried. There's so many good roll options and the price isn't bad for the bay area. Overall, I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a nice place to get sushi :)“
“Aniki's is my go-to sushi restaurant. The food has always been great. The prices are a bit high.My last visit we went on a Monday. It was not busy. There was no wait. I learned that they recently opened for business on Mondays. Perhaps customers are not aware they are open Mondays now.We got Mango Crunch, Hamachi Lover & Charisma. We also got the crab salad, appetizer size. We love the crab salad. All these rolls were great, and I would get them again. Service was quick and professional.Parking: There are wheelchair accessible parking spaces and a ramp nearby.Kid-friendliness: I often see families with small kids here. It is kid friendly as long as they like sushi.Wheelchair accessibility: I am a wheelchair user. The restaurant floor is accessible. There is space between tables to maneuver. There are enough tables to allow plenty of options for wheelchair users. I have not been in their bathrooms; I cannot speak to their accessibilty.“
“Yummm and I love their all day HH. I came here on a Tuesday around 5-6pm. It wasn't popping and was kinda dead but I kinda expected that on a Tuesday. We got the two rolls for $20 deal. I got the dragon roll and my partner got the lion king. We also got the agedashi tofu. The food was enjoyable and the price was great. We'll be coming back for their all day HH again.“
“I keep coming back to Satomi when craving sea food. My experience has been great and consistent. I’m please with the freshness and quality of fish served here. I appreciate the effort behind preparing these delicacy’s. My experience is inspired by the Thornton Location in Fremont Ca.“
“One of my favorite Japanese spots in Hayward. Kinda hidden on a side street.I love that they let me order salmon sashimi in the bento box, and I can have it with salmon teriyaki for even more salmon! Very tasty. They've got a double salmon sushi roll that my 7yo daughter loves, because I've apparently gotten her hooked on eating too much salmon as well haha. My sushi-disliking husband doesn't mind coming here either because they've got a variety of other things for him, like beef teriyaki and udon bowls. The service is pretty minimal, but not unfriendly. The server just tends to disappear and is pretty quiet. They're part of the Together For Hayward program, so if you can snag one of the limited-time deals on those gift certificates, the already low prices here are even better.“
“I hate it when I have to say this is the best Sushi I have had in 20 years, because it will be pack more, then I will have to wait. This is an actual Japanese restaurant! They usally close at 8:30, but they were packed. At the looks of things, the were not going home until midnight. Unbillable how fresh the food was. Great assortment of Saki. Food was to die for. I will be returning on Sunday after the Super Bowl.“
“I got take out here. They have a very large section of rolls and sushi here. I got the Flying Ninja and the Dragon rolls. Both said they were spicy but I didn’t taste much spice even after I dipped it in my soy sauce and wasabi mix. Overall both rolls were good with tempura shrimp inside. Like I’ve said there is so many options I’d like onto and try different ones.“
