“This place should be more highly rated. We walked over from the Hilton as there was a gap between breakfast and lunch service. The crepes are made to order, are as tasty as those we have eaten in Quebec or on the street in Paris. Simple toppings. We enjoyed a banana/Nutella, turkey/pesto/avocado, and egg/ham/cheese along with a couple of lattes and a few slurped to go for the hot day. Since each crepe is made individual you can wait a bit but lots of stores to look around in.“

“The French Street Bistro is a quick service location located on the upper lot in Universal Studios Hollywood Studio. It's near the Secret Life of Pets ride and Minion Mayhem, Despicable Me. I was looking through the Universal Studios Hollywood application for some sweet treats. I noticed that the French Street Bistro had some Macarons! After riding the Secret Life of Pets ride, my husband and I stopped by the French Bistro. The French Bistro didn't have any customers inside on a cold, Thursday afternoon. Looking through their menu, it looked like they had a lot of pre-made selections from artisan sandwiches and gourmet salads. Some of their other alternatives include Muffins and Cookies. This restaurant does have a variety of dietary options though, which is great! Gluten Free Options Vegetarian Options Peanut-free Options Dairy-Free Options Their Macaron flavors were limited. When we asked the team member they had Pistachio, Salted Caramel, Chocolate available. We ended up choosing 2, one of the Salted Caramel and the Chocolate flavor. It was less than $5.00 for both Macarons. The team member provided them in a small bag. My husband and I decided to split them inside the restaurant. Both Macarons were cold. The Salted Caramel was my favorite. It was packed with flavor and you could taste the caramel, but it wasn't over powering. I didn't particular enjoy the chocolate Macaron. It was a dark chocolate and the flavor profile was extremely strong! Both filings weren't smooth, but more of a Jello like consistency. Overall though, considering other dessert prices in the park, the Macarons are a great inexpensive option if you're looking for a small sweet treat!“

“STEPH JUDGEMENT: Charming atmosphere and good food, but slightly uneven service. We were staying at the hotel and decided to try it for breakfast. It had an adorable retro 1930s vibe going on, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I ordered a coffee and their smoked salmon and latke (same as hash browns), and was pleasantly surprised by an unexpected poached egg. The hubby ordered two scrambled eggs and "cool ranch" hash browns (basically cool ranch dust). Everything was delicious, but after the server dropped off our food she was nowhere to be seen for a while, and it took some time to settle our bill. Luckily we weren't in a hurry, and I believe they had just opened, so I'm sure the service will improve as they get their bearings. I'd definitely like to try them again when next in the area.“

“The initial attraction to this restaurant was simple. A Michelin star, and there's a cheeseburger on the menu?!? Sign me up. The decor and ambiance of the restaurant was modern, minimal, and comfortable. We were greeted with a delicious amuse bouche of creme fraiche and green onion with some sort of crunchy vessel holding it together. Then we moved onto the baguette, which, while delicious, I would probably pass on my next visit. Then came the onion tartine, which, in my opinion, was the highlight of the meal. Perfectly blistered gruyere cheese over caramelized onions and delicious fresh bread drizzled with a duck fat reduction tableside. Think of it as a perfectly executed inverted French onion soup. Then came the burger. Upon arrival, it was announced as a 50/50 blend of ribeye and duck, smoked gouda, and caramelized onions on an incredible brioche bun. I've had a lot of burgers, and none of them even came close to this one. Perfectly cooked, lovely char, and incredible flavor. We ordered the Madeira mushroom risotto as a side dish, and that was delicious as well. Every course was perfectly spaced out, and the wait staff never missed a beat. The overall experience was faultless, and I can't wait for another special occasion to return.“

“I think this is about the best French restaurant in California or perhaps the US. This was not the intended destination, but my friend and I were extremely glad that we went, since we're Francophiles!! They feature classically French dishes, but also Italian, making it a bit of fusion cuisine. Okay, a mojito is not French, but it was one of the best I have had in a very long time! I stuck to French cuisine. Started with soup a l'onion. Delicious! A lot of gruyere and the right amount of onions, bread and soup. Next were the escargots in olive oil with a lot of garlic! Yum! Main course was the mussels! Those had to be the largest, most succulent mussels I have ever had! They came with fries, but you really didn't need them. I brought them home. Last was the Napoleon or mille feuille. Creamy! There were three layers: one with just the cream, second with strawberries, and the last with nuts. Wow! Never had one like that! The proprietor was very kind. He brought us our drinks and was very kind when we spoke to him in French. Wait staff was very courteous and we felt no pressure to eat and leave. To show how good this place was, we ended up sitting next to a well known French actor. My friend recognized him first. They say that if people of the same nationality as the restaurant dine there, it's usually a compliment to the restaurant and a testament of the food. Well, that may be so, but we Francophiles will definitely be dining again at this restaurant! Merci beaucoup!“

“I found the dining experience disappointing overall. The bacon and polenta lacked flavor and presentation, especially considering the hefty price tag of $7 on the bacon. The French toast was overcooked and had a wet, eggy center. However, the chocolate almond croissant stood out. The homemade blueberry coffee cake was dry and lacked flavor. While the portions were generous, the quality didn't justify the $40+ per person price. On the brighter side, the hazelnut cookie was a highlight, especially when warmed up. The beignet lacked flavor and had a dense texture reminiscent of a donut, rather than the desired lightness. The fries and aioli were enjoyable, offering a satisfying combination.Despite the culinary disappointments, Sarah, the owner, was exceptional, and the interior decoration provided a stunning backdrop for a group gathering. While the food may not have been memorable, the ambiance and company can make the experience worthwhile. It all depends on your preference and priority for brunching.“

The broth was rich and the onions were tender and wonderfully caramelized. And the melted cheese! So good! I had the creme brulee for dessert (one of my favorite desserts). Unfortunately the top was way too burnt, and the bitterness really over-powered the custard. That was disappointing. I had to avoid eating the blackened parts which was most of the top. The person at the register was friendly and our food was fresh made and probably took about 20 minutes to arrive. I ordered the alpine tartine without bacon and it was DIVINE. I really enjoyed it and the mix of Brie, sour cream, egg, potatoes, and bread. I did add some hot sauce and pepper but it was very good. I appreciate the side salad to balance out the heaviness. I did not have space for their pastries but they looked amazing. I will say the one major downside is that they did not have espresso or specialty drinks when I visited which I found disappointing. I got a canned cold coffee which was okay. I would've loved a latte or cappuccino to pair with my breakfast.“

“French wine bar in DTLA - definitely a hidden gem tucked away in a mall (?) entrance but absolutely worth the visit. Well-curated wine list, almost exclusively French staff who will charm you away with their wittiness and hospitality. We specifically enjoyed the scallops with black truffle and the garlic bread (sorry but it’s too die for). Can also recommend the escargot if you enjoy the texture - the taste was on point. Would definitely recommend for a laid back dinner vibe with friends“

“The beef carpaccio is a miracle of a dish. I hope they never remove it from the menu because I would order this daily if I could. The orange wine was ok, chilled red was good. Halibut was ok. Very small intimate setting.But...the beef carpaccio makes this 5 stars.“

“We've been lucky enough to dine at providence, vespertine and meteora and they're really the best comparison for the food and service. The evening was impeccable. Mysteriously, the place was almost empty on a Tuesday—for foodies who want a quietly luxurious dinner and some of the best cocktails around in a beautiful space, snag a Tuesday spot and treat yourself before this place catches on. Sorry if I sound exaggerated; still on a bit of a high from a wonderful evening.“

“Such a pleasant surprise “finding” Massilia hiding in plain sight in Santa Monica. A wonderful blend of European flavors in a setting with a chic vibe. Very reasonable happy hour prices for delicious cocktails and bites. On the dinner menu, pasta entrees (tagliatelle and rigatoni) were both lovely but the true star was the 8-hour lamb shank over pureed potatoes with a Cabernet sauce. It was fall off the bone tender and so flavorful. Our excellent and enthusiastic server, Jonathan, recommended the chocolate mousse for dessert. Heaven in a bowl!!We will be repeat customers, for sure!“

“I've wanted to dine here for a while and I finally made it back in June. The intimate dining room has only 5 tables, and a close up view of the kitchen. One of my favorite dishes was the Caviar Deviled Egg, it even had heart shaped waffles on the side! I also enjoyed their pine milk bread and blossom butter that was served with a mushroom broth. There were three main savory dishes. The Red Bream & Scallop "Farci", was my least favorite dish of the menu, it was cooked perfectly, and the sauce looked good, but somehow it all tasted completely flavorless, which was really disappointing. The A5 Wagyu with a ramp stuffed Morel mushroom was amazing, but the main highlight of the meal for me was the Liberty Farm's Duck "Rouennaise". It was delicious and the presentation was really unique. One of the desserts was a cherry sorbet with "dip n dots" which was one of the most flavorful sorbets that i've ever had, and a perfect way to end the meal. This was such a fun and unique experience but it was probably the most expensive 2 star i’ve been to and I don’t think it lived up to the price tag compared to other restaurants i’ve dined at with the same Michelin rating.“

“This is a really charming local breakfast and lunch spot. The inside is very cute with lots of pink accents. We came for breakfast and the choice of pastries and breakfast dishes was excellent. I had waffles with Nutella and strawberries which was different from my usual breakfast choice. It was so good I would definitely recommend to anyone. All the staff was moving quickly and brought the food to our table. They also had an outside seating area that was enclosed with a heater because of the cool weather the weekend we were there. It is a little difficult to find as it is located in a plaza setting. Definitely worth the stop here!“
