“Wow!!! Little pricey but worth every penny! One of the best sandwich I had in a very long time. I mean, the store looked so so, the interior was ok, the exterior was ok... wasn't expecting much... but oh boy was I wrong! Had the pastrami and it was amazing, I live two hours away from this place and I will definitely go back!“
“I have been wanting to try their food for over 25 years. I heard about them from weatherman Mark Kristi from KTLA morning news. When we could not find a reservation for Christmas dinner, we decided to pick up food from Corsica deli. We had chicken Parmesan, stuffed shells, vegetarian lasagna with Alfredo sauce, and we couldn’t leave without some cannolis stuffed with Nutella. The meal was absolutely out of this world on Christmas Day. It was better than anything we could have gotten from any restaurant. I cannot wait to go back and try some of the other items , I am very excited to try their sandwiches as well. We did have some sticker shock with the prices, but after eating the meal, it was worth every penny. You do realize that you do have to pay for quality. The place definitely reminds me of the traditional Italian delis from back home in New York. It was definitely well worth the drive from Glendale to pick it up. Merry Christmas everyone“
“Marie's Cafe is a quaint little shop within walking distance of many hotels. The customer service was great when we went. The breakfast options were really good and filling. It was really hard to make a choice on what to get. The place had an established feel but is welcoming. I would definitely visit again.“
“I stumbled upon Mendocino Farms, and it was a delightful surprise. The ambiance is cozy with a touch of sophistication, making it a perfect spot for a casual lunch or a special occasion. The service here is exceptional. The staff is attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. They took the time to explain the different sandwich options and even suggested a unique combination that turned out to be a new favorite. Now, onto the food. The sandwiches here are a true culinary adventure. Each bite is a burst of flavor, and the attention to detail in crafting these masterpieces is evident. It's clear that they take pride in serving top-quality sandwiches. If you're a sandwich enthusiast or someone looking for a great meal in a charming setting with excellent service, you won't be disappointed here. This place exceeds expectations on all fronts – ambiance, service, and food quality.“
“Asian Chicken Salad: 2/5Skip it. Anyone can make this at home. Nothing special.Ultimate Chicken Sandwich on Ciabatta: 4/5The bread was crunchy and all the fixings inside made for a great tasting sandwich. I would reorder this any day.The staff here are very friendly. The order came out quick. Great spot overall. I'll be coming back often.“
“Only problem is they have vegan options ,so meataterians foods are infected with Hoi polloi fixing that don't belong like micro green lettuce instead of iceberg that tastes better. Sprouts are for depressed people. Otherwise, the turkey is fantastic and they use good mayo. The sourdough bread is the best anywhere. Prices are “
“The bread is great. Really recommend the impossible meat ball vegan sandwich. That's delicious. Same as turkey and pastrami.Vegetarian options: 2 vegetarian sandwiches (veggie and impossible meat ball) which a one of it is vegan (impossible meatball).“
“We go once or twice a week The banh mis are really good. Some of the other sandwiches are better than others but they're all quite nice; I really enjoy the Italian Job 2.0. I don't do coffee or smoothies so can't speak to them, but they sell well apparently. Cheery staff, fast service, indoor and outdoor tables.Parking: Sometimes I park on Motor north of National if the lunch rush is big.“
“DeFranko’s is an OG sandwich stop in the valley. They have been around for over 50 years. It’s a little hole in the wall stop with no indoor dining but they have a few tables and chairs outside with a very small parking lot.The service was just okay. They definitely get a lot of orders in person and over the phone. There was a line out the door. I recommend calling ahead because they do get busy!I got the Italian sub for my parents who were in town and a chicken salad for me. The chicken salad was just okay. After reading more reviews, I wish I had gone with the pastrami because that one seems most popular. My parents enjoyed their sandwich but wish it had more meet inside.I will definitely come back again by calling in and trying something new.“
“What a gem! Can't believe I've never had Phillipe's French Dip being an LA native, but I'm so happy that I finally did! The line can be out the door, but it is constantly moving. I'd say wait time from just outside their front door is a good 30 minutes or so. My husband and I ordered everything to share: -I asked what the original French Dip was and how it was made. It is the Beef Dip, double-dipped on a French Roll. This was good, but I would add cheese next time & get extra au jus dip on the side!! -Hubby ordered the NY Pastrami Dip w/ Jack, double-dipped on a French Roll. This was the FAVORITE. We would just order the extra au jus dip on the side next time. -Pickled Egg, the famous ones in the beet red/purple jars. We got one to try and it was surprisingly good! -Kosher Dill Pickle, is it even a French dip sandwich experience without this?! hahah -Potato Salad was delicious and a nice palate cleanser from all the meats & pickled goodies. -For dessert we ordered the Tapioca Pudding, one of my husband's favorites! Order & pay at the counter. They make your sandwich and grab everything on your order and give you a tray. Grab a table. Try their hot mustard on the table if you like horseradish! We loved adding some to our bites with the sandwiches. They have their own parking lot directly behind and across from the restaurant. Restrooms are clean. Service is fairly quick & there's always staff standing by ready to buss the tables.“
“One of the best hot chicken joints in LA and iv tried them all, the chicken is so fresh, tender n juicy you just want more n more. Staff is very friendly, it's a family owned and operated business and you can tell they really care about the food and the service. If your lucky you'll run into the cutest little girl taking orders, literally made my night. Will be back soon!“
“Tried this place with my mom today for the first time after passing this place the past 4 years lol. Parking was easy at 2pm, gentleman that assisted us was very courteous. I had the sweet November with fries she had the harvest nut with side salad and WOWWWWW mouth watering just full of flavor, you can tell the ingredients are high quality. The size was perfect - filled me up So delicious !! Definitely will be a new to go to spotVegetarian options: Vegan options“
“One of the best sandwich spots in LA. I come here at least twice a week (or to the slauson location). The only sandwich shop that offers turkey pastrami and its fantastic. All their offerings are great as I tried everything on the menu. Highly recommended and great for lunch. I sometimes order two sandwiches so I can eat it after work as well.“
“We discovered Monroe Place about six months ago but have been back about six times. It's not close to our home but it's a favorite and worth the drive. We tried most of the sandwiches and like them all (most of the sandwich offerings have a meat version and a similarly made but vegetarian version). The bread type for each sandwich is specified by the restaurant. It sounds a bit restrictive but works out well. The potato chips are excellent and the drinks are distinctive and tasty (I like the cardamon iced tea and my wife likes the cucumber mint lemonade). The sandwiches are good sized. There are a lot of dining options in our area but this is our go-to sandwich option.“
“Love this eatery! Great food, amazing service and love the laid back atmosphere.Parking: A bit difficult to park along the main streets and don’t really know the residential area parking restrictions. We tend to come here on Sundays to avoid have parking issues ?Kid-friendliness: Great menu selection for the kids and includes a beverage“
“Betty and her team catered a very special dinner at my house and then a pool party / brunch the next day. This was the single best experience with a caterer I’ve had in all my party planning years — great food, super collaborative (and helpful) planning, highly tailored and themed menu with tremendous creativity and a BLAST having them serve the party. The themed menu and decor were the literal talk of the party and all my friends are following up asking for her contact info. Simply fanstastic.“
“Based on the perfection of the "WEHO" sandwich I had today, I'm giving this spot a solid 5 stars! This turkey sando with avocado was made to order with a pressed panini style bread which totally worked, packed with fresh ingredients, and not skimping on the boars head turkey. Proportions were spot on, the gentleman behind the counter could not have been friendlier, and scored a parking spot right in front. This spot is a win for me, can't wait to come back for more!“
“I wouldn't give 5 ⭐ easily, but this place is good, great sandwich and the toppings are a good idea on a pastrami sandwich plus the price is good value for your money to find the same flavor you have to pay $15 or even $20 for the same size pretty much, definitely going back“
“The staff are super friendly and accommodating! I asked for the Banh mi op la— the basic egg banh mi with sambal. However I didn’t expect to get a deconstructed banh mi! It was a funny mishap. All of the ingredients are super fresh and yummy (some assembly is required). Definitely wanna go back and try out the lemongrass tofu!“
“This is everything a Vietnamese sandwich shop should be. #1 or #3, iced coffee, a produce box on top of a milk crate for seating, and soap operas on the tele. It's a food stall. Nothing more, nothing less. Walked out of there with 3 Bahn Mis, iced coffee, and a soda for $25 (not including tip; don't forget to tip). Actually, I walked out without anything because...soaps operas. Just left with a memory of what I wish I had at home“
“This is definitely the best Basturma and Soujouk sandwich shop around, and there's a lot of history behind it. Service is great, it's a family owned business led by a husband and wife team. Charming and old-school atmosphere inside, it's a small local shop with a lot of Armenian and Mediterranean products and one long table in the middle. Always looking forward to coming back here for a Basturma sandwich!“
“Yummmmmmyyyy! It’s the office go to now! Salmon Salad, Club sandwich and pesto chicken are the common orders. Everything is prepared fresh and the bread is so perfect. The Club in my opinion is so flavorful and is my favorite. Comes with a side salad with vinaigrette and feta sprinkled with mandarins and is the perfect touch. Perfect proportion. Ordered over the phone as it was a large order and the customer service on the call was fantastic. They def took the time to be sure the order was right. Haven’t dined in but take out has been on point each time! Def will stop in one day to update about the atmosphere!“
“Absolutely incredible!! Mark made us feel so special for our first time here. The food was delicious - excellent vegan tofu sandwich (a take on a banh me) and really good carrot dish. Everything super fresh and friendly and delicious. Also excellent shrubs that aren’t too “
“V Cafe on Melrose is a perfect lunch spot nestled conveniently beside the Hollywood Improv. From the warm and attentive staff who know their customers by name to the mouthwatering G.C.A. sandwich that could easily be enjoyed daily without losing its appeal, this place is a true gem. The menu offers a wide range of healthy and delectable options, all prepared with the freshest ingredients and an evident passion for excellence. The ambiance is trendy and inviting, making it the perfect spot to unwind and savor every bite. Trust me, a visit to V Cafe will leave you craving more and eager to return for another personalized lunch experience.“
“Little diner on the side of the road but lots of flavor. The lady at the register is a bit high strung but she is cool. The food is great and good prices. Can get Korean and a phili cheese. Food is made fresh and delicious. I sit down sometimes and the people that come in are working class. Worth the money and time!Kid-friendliness: Small diner and home feeling. The food is good for kids.Parking: 8 spot in front of the building and more next to the liquor storeWheelchair accessibility: Easy to get in and out and order outDietary restrictions: You can have it made your way.“
“Best sandwich ever. This place gave me delusions of grandeur because the chef is so friendly I thought I was special for a minute there. The line gets long but it moves pretty fast. If you only have 30 minutes for lunch you should go later on when it has cooled off a little and hope he still has mozzarella. No, I didn't forget! But I forgive because that is how special and magnanimous I am. Shoot. There I go again.“
“What a neighborhood gem! A great little store with a good deli counter, a nice selection of candy and basic grocery items. It's got a nice relaxed vibe, friendly staff and a beautiful back patio and a pizza oven setup! Will definitely be coming back with friends for pizza night.“
“This is my go to for my family when there's no time to prepare lunch/dinner. We have had their burgers and sandwiches with 0 disappointment. Always full of flavor and even my picky kids enjoy it! We conveniently get delivery and have always had such a great experience. Keep it up :)“
“I just Walked into the place the other day to see what they sell. And the cashier was so friendly. She said her special was the ttlb in the store I decided to try it and fell in love ❤️So nowi found decided my happy place is the lokal sandwich ? ? yummy You will have my business every day.“
“I was very stressed about making a flight because my phone had just died when I got lunch here. The man at the counter (presumably the owner?) helped me open my new charger and showed me where to plug it in and my food came out super quick, all of which helped me feel more at ease. I ended up eating my tuna sub at the airport, and it was definitely better than anything I could have bought at the terminal! Thanks Submarine King for a happy ending to an otherwise stressful day :)“
“A hidden gem in Burbank CA! Staff was friendly and helpful when deciding what to get. My boyfriend LOVED the beef rib sandwich and I was amazed with their crispy fries and mashed potatoes! Definitely would recommend if you're in the area and want to support a small business. Remember to bring cash!“
“Great pizza Giamelas Atwater Village. They don’t charge you $30 for a pizza so I come here now. Italian sandwich was great too, but i didn’t like that the tomatoes and pickles were diced so every time I’d bite into it everything all came out. Thank you!“
“Great food. The sandwich initially looked small, but was packed and filling while retaining its structure and not falling apart. The service was great from the young man in the front tonight, very appreciative of him. The plate being replaced with a carving board was really neat! Highly recommended eating here at least once if you’re looking for a good sandwich.Vegetarian options: They offer a wide range of vegetarian and vegan options“
“I just love the service at this particular location. Every time I am craving a quality sandwich and want something healthy, Mendocino Farms is the spot for me. I'm obsessed with the not so fried chicken sandwich dipped in the BBQ sauce with a side of basil pesto shells. Delicious! They really need to make this particular side dish permanent and not seasonal. I tried the spicy dijon potato salad and I would say it's a hit too, it does have a small kick to it though. I will occasionally get the Peruvian steak if I do want a beef sandwich. Food is always consistent whether I get it on the apps or dine in. Check this place out! One hour free parking with validation.“
“The sandwiches are to die for. They use the freshest ingredients and it feels as though the sandwiches are made with love. I love eating a Banh Mi and although their interpretation is not traditional. It is really a home run and worth a try. I had trouble paying as my Apple Pay wasn't working. The guy working the register was so kind to me and said they can give one free sandwich per a day to those in need or whatever. It was my lucky night. I don't like to owe or receive hand outs. I returned with cash the next day I worked in that area. I offered to pay for the sandwich and he remembered me, but they couldn't accept the money because it would affect the till. I was insisting to give them the money to make it right. So the manager said that I could put it in the tip jar if I'd like and that's what I did. I'm not looking for praise or anything. This is what happened. I was really touched by their kindness and generosity. I will be sure to patronize this restaurant again and bring my wallet next time in case I mess up using Apple Pay again“
“These sandwiches have no business being this good ? if I could make love to a sandwich, these would be it. I crave it at least once a week. Daily specials are always bomb ?. Every sandwich is delicious. This place often sells out by 2/3pm.Vegetarian options: As long as you eat cheese ?, great option for vegetarians.“
“Great vibe. Perfect place for a high quality pre-made sandwich on fresh bread, a great cup of a coffee, and nice atmosphere to hang out in. Happened to sit near the business owner who has a fantastic outlook on their business. I appreciate the dedication to the staff and the customers. Highly recommend.“
“Food was great, server was amazing, little bit on a small size so if u come late you will have to wait. Only complaint would be meat being not enough salty but thats personal preferenc, so your milage may very. Will def come back... oh n price is good.Parking: Right next to the building“
“Very good pastrami dip, from the videos I thought it would be more stacked but it was fine, nice pickle slice with order, we also got a brisket sandwich, my father complained it was very greasy but had a great flavor, if I ever come back I will try the pastrami on rye it looked wonderful ✌️“
“I can't describe how good the bread on the sub sandwich is! It's light and airy yet with a great chew. I got the vegan falafel with tsaziki and fries. It was a delicious and perfect late dinner after a long day.I ate here while on vacation after going to universal studios. I wish we had a Fat Sal's in northern California! My boyfriend also loved his buffalo chicken sub.Vegetarian options: Vegan falafel with vegan tsaziki!Dietary restrictions: Vegan falafel with vegan tsaziki!“
“Cute little sandwich shop that I've heard much about but never went to before this past week. I ordered the Louis Good -- their buffalo chicken sandwich. The homemade "Italian buffalo" sauce stood out more than anything, though I still do not know what makes Italian buffalo different than New York buffalo. It did have a slightly different taste and it wasn't as saucy as their American cousin. Sandwich was a bit on the smaller side with more lettuce than anything else. Still pretty good, though not super stand out“
“The sandwich was delicious and the ingredients were all fresh. The man at the counter was friendly and polite. The restaurant is small but clean. The only thing I took issue with is that they charge $4 for a fountain soda. That's way too high!Parking: It's a tiny place but Theresa's parking out front.“
“First time here. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak. It was AMAZING!!! It’s hard to find a great sandwich these days. When I pulled up the place was empty, maybe they had a rush earlier. But I gave it a chance and I’m glad I did! Excellent!“
“Tasty Banh Mis. I always get the sardine along with either the pork or chicken. All made fresh to order. They include a small au jus of the specific Banh Mi you order-nice touch. ? Parking is a challenge since it right on Hyperion so if you see a spot, take it.“
“Haven't had Which Wich? in Years due to nearby locations closing / completely forgetting about the chain.. but after a reminder through old photos, I did some research & was pleasantly surprised to find that their nearest store is 10ish miles away from me, on Hollywood Blvd. My Experience: 7.5/5 Shafkat, alongside being Wonderfully Kind & displaying Selfless Hospitality, presented to me today what was By Far THE BEST Italian hoagie I've had in Years.. So Good in fact that I'm going to start making the trip over the hill every weekend for my once again Favorite, Superior sandwich on this planet. Super, Super Glad to still have a Which Wich? close enough to be able to travel to & I encourage all fellow fans of the chain to make the trip & give it a shot. So, SO WORTH it! :^) Jimmy who? Jersey where? ..this 'Superior Sandwiches' thing is Definitely NOT a joke! XD UPDATE: so damn good I ended up going back the next day. 10,000/10.“
“Just about everything here is made from scratch on site. The bread and pastries, the pasta, and the gelato!Place is like a tiny market and a little Rome restaurant combined. The sandwiches are amazing because the bread and the Italian meats are so good. Anything with a good burrata/brie, prosciutto, and baguette is going to be a winner.Good coffee too.“
“Patrick has the Best service ever compared to other locations they’re always welcoming making conversation my sub was great as well the bacon was perfect, these guys are well trained and need a raise!!! I’ll be making the extra drive from miracle mile just to this “
“Man I love the turkey and avocado sandwich on white from Togos. I wish they had more locations than the one in downtown LA. There used to be one in Monterey Park which made picking up a sandwich from them a tad more convenient. I think I would be going more regularly if they were closer. The ingredients are fresh and portion sizes are generous. I'll definitely be stopping by when I am around the area!“
“Best meatball sandwich I've ever had! It was huge and tasted great. Kinda messy but that's alright, I'm getting my money's worth if it's literally overflowing. Service was quick and they brought the sandwich right out to my table. A few spots to sit inside and out.“
“Yummy! I really loved their sandwiches especially the one with pastrami. Very good although I wish there would be more sauce added. Service was remarkable the gentleman was very kind in explaining to me how big the sandwiches and he was right I was going to get a small. He told me to upgrade to medium and showed me the size on an example board. Thank you! I enjoyed that you can add toppings to their sandwiches they had on their menu. Very clean place plenty of seating on the outside of restaurant.“
