“I grew up in the Philippines and move here in the US when I was 12 yrs old, so coming to this spot is pretty nostalgic for me. I love the food first off and the price. I love the atmosphere and bring back memories of being home with my family. Everyone is chill friendly, and they even have karaoke, which I also love.“
“Walked in for the first time and wasn’t sure what to get, the cashier made a few suggestions and I quickly knew what I wanted. The Food and Service were top tier ! I got the Gyoza w/ Don’s Special Combo & man was it amazing !! MOST DEF coming back !“
“First time coming here, we ordered the kimchi fried rice, beef galbi plate, and grilled shrimp plate - it was all soo delicious! Probably the best kimchi fried rice I've ever had, and it had an overeasy egg! I got it to go but it was quick and made fresh. Will definitely be back!“
“Love this place! I think it's the best and the only one of its kind. The ingredients are sooo fresh. It's an all you can eat, but no doggy bags allowed. You can order takeout. The staff is friendly. It's a pretty casual restaurant.“
“Ordered the Katsu Butter Chicken and Spam Brûlée Musubi through UberEATS for delivery around 2 P.M on a Weekday. Food was delivered quickly and hot. They packaged it neatly and provided some napkins and utensils as well! Great service although I can’t speak for the atmosphere.Would definitely recommend the musubi for anyone who likes sweet and salty combinations! The katsu is okay but was a little too oily for me.“
“This was a most delightful late lunch here today in great part due to the exceptionally hospitable and knowledgeable staff. The restaurant's interior is traditionally regal and cozy however we opted to eat in their spacious outside eating area on this beautiful afternoon. No regality was lost by being outside for we were in the care of Gilberto, our wonderful principle waiter. He understood our every need and pampered us like one seldom encounters in Long Beach. We began with an Old Sicilian cocktail. It's probably fortunate the photo didn't come out else I'd be shamelessly punning the caption, but most importantly it was delicious with quite a punch. The crab cake appetizer, also delicious, was followed by the best hamburger that I've ever had and that includes any produced from my kitchen (I consider that to be the highest praise). Bf gave me a taste and there is no question that I will be ordering this next time. For a special treat, Gilberto presented us with a beautiful crème brûlée. When requiring a flawless dining experience, this is perfection, They are Masters of their craft.“
“The food was Soo good. The place felt like we were eating at someone's home but the food was top restaurant quality. We'll definitely be back. We got the bacon appetizer and my husband got the tri tip and eggs and I got the sticky ribs. Definitely recommend.“
“Ribs have plenty of meat, but to my taste a bit dry and chewy. I like more tender and more moisture ribs meat. Salads were good and fresh, but really small. Staff was friendly. OK for one time, but won’t drive here specially for ribs for $30+…pricy… Other restaurants offer more and better for the same price.“
“Well … what to say. I was actually even considering not to post review- little hidden gem like this should be protected:) First meat - beyond believe and 100% THE best BBQ I ever had. Brisket was famous, but the RIBS?!! Wooow… well… I’m taking my hat off, thank you and thanks destiny to let me to find such place.“
“BBQ upscale fast food. Cool concept, decor and menu options. Good amount of meat for the price....especially on the plates. Included sides were small portions. Order off to the register on the side once walking in, which was confusing for a first timer. Personally, the meat was much too salty to be a regular.“
“Best thai place I had in awhile. Great value. I had the beef satay and my wife had the chicken satay. Beef satay is bomb. I recommend the cucumber salad over the papaya salad. It had a subway veggies type of taste. My wife is picky and ended up loving it. Be here soon again. 17 bucks average meal.“
“Food is great! My first experience here was 4th of july 2023. I knew they would be busy, so i called hours ahead for my pick up order and when i got there it wasn't ready because my ticket was buried under other orders and was missed. So i had to wait additional time for my food, per why i ordered ahead. Smdh. And my portions was small!!Second time around, i wanted to try chicken but they were out. The guy that took my order seemed like he didnt want to be there, no smile, no greeting, just no customer service skills what so ever. Food came out fast, bigger portions this time. Just dont know why both times bbq sauce was in my greens, i dont like that.“
“We came for lunch to avoid the dinner rush. It was perfect timing. We're also vegetarian so we tried several of their vegan/vegetarian options. They have an extensive menu and tons of options. Everything was delicious. The service was amazing. Our waiter was helpful and friendly. Our favorite were the scallion pancakes and the ramen. It was a bit spicy for us, even though we asked for mild, but it was so delicious. Portions are huge. We took half home, but we're excited to have leftovers.“
“Love the vibes of this place, the food is so yummy and I adore a self serve bar for the side dishes. Usually I feel bad having to constantly ask for more cucumber or rice paper. Love that I can get what I like and as much as I like. The price is better then most other kbbq places. 10/10 recommended to other to try if you are in the area.“
“Food: 5/5 highly recommend, their combo is very good. Great portion and price. They also have lunch menu, which comes with a side of your choosing. Service: 5/5 very welcoming. Ambiance: 5/5 they have a couple tables for dine in. But, most of the time people would order takeout or call in for a pick up.“
“Good small family owned spot. The staff is super friendly and helpful if you have questions. Theresa helped us and was knowledgeable about the menu and made good suggestions. I see her help others make selections as well. Not only was she helpful but had a mailed for everyone that came through the door. The BBQ smells delicious but we went for a cold sandwich. Next time will definitely try the BBQ. We got The Guido which is a fully loaded Italian sandwich with Ham, Mortadella and Soppressata . It's everything you look for in an Italian sandwich, the meat is quality and the ham has a nice smokiness. The bread is super fresh and soft and fluffy. The acidity from the dressing cut the fatty delicious nature of the cured meats perfectly. They have a good selection of soda's that are made with real can sugar which is nice. They have a small patio out front that is dog friendly. Definitely will be back for both the food and the great service.“
“To the uninitiated, this place offers the right amount and fare, with quality just being ok, at a location convenient to those that frequent the area. There are other similar places that offer more in terms of selection and quality within a short drive. Service was on the good side and not a concern. Staff was helpful to first time customers. May come back here to avoid the crowd at other places.“
“Nice little location in the food court, I ordered the bulgogi rice bowl, and it was really good! A little pricey but they do give plenty of food, you won't leave hungry! Will come again when I'm in the area and try something else.“
“I recently visited Palsaik with my girlfriend and her friends, and let me tell you—it was a trip down memory lane! Having lived in Korea about ten years ago, I was thrilled to find this gem right here. Palsaik specializes in eight different flavors of pork belly, and each bite was like a reunion with old friends. The ambiance was cozy, and the aroma of sizzling meat filled the air. Our server was an absolute star—helpful, attentive, and skilled at cooking the meat to perfection. They made sure our dining experience was extraordinary. From the savory garlic flavor to the sweet honey soy, every slice of pork belly transported me back to those bustling Korean barbecue joints. The nostalgia was real, and I couldn’t help but smile between bites.Whether you’re a seasoned Korean food enthusiast or a curious newcomer, Palsaik is a must-visit. The flavors, the service, and the memories—it’s all there. I’m already planning my next visit because, honestly, where else can you find such a delightful pork belly feast?“
“This is a long-overdue review! I've been coming here for the past two years, and without a doubt, this is my favorite Thai restaurant ever. The coziness of it makes me feel like I'm dining at my auntie's house. The customer service is exceptional, and the chefs are consistently amazing. If you're searching for a new restaurant to try, please add this to your list. It's our favorite place.“
“Hey, just wanted to give a shout out and a recommendation for all of you folks out there. For Easter Sunday I ordered the family pack, which came with three meats two sides, came with a full rack of ribs, a bunch of huge, hot links, and an ample portion of brisket, I got the potato salad and baked beans. The baked beans had brisket in the beans very flavorful. This was a great value was enough to feed six people with leftovers so you may want to check this out, great party pack!. As always, everything fresh, well presented and tasty do yourself a favor.“
“Everything was seasoned well .. The brisket, ribs and turkey were all tender, moist, and delicious.....all mouth watering...couldn't eat it all...meat was still amazing the next day...not dry or chewy. The Mac and cheese was creamy the green not vinegary or sweet they taste more smokey...I'd definitely get again. *Side note my mom felt her's greens tasted a little salty. I did not have the same feeling I thought it was perfect . the bbq beans she stated taste like pork n beans with BBQ sauce ...I didn't try. We were both happy with the meal. The service was quick., and friendly... The truck is located right on the corner... Highly recommend.. I'm from the valley and I'd go again“
“We've been coming here for many years. The go-to order for us is the Ox-tongue, Slightly Salted with Green Onions. Other good choices are the Skirt Steak, Liver, Garlic. Be warned it does tend to get smokey inside, so you'll come out smelling like bbq. Plenty of parking in the lot. Reservations help on weekends.“
“came here with my lolo for lunch, and we both left pleasantly surprised! the interior is nice and spacious, and it's comfortable to dine in. we ended up ordering it for takeout, but the cashier was very friendly and entertained us during our wait. the chicken inasal was cooked to perfection, and the flavors were amazing in comparison to other filipino takeout spots in the area. i'd recommend this spot to anyone seeking all around good filipino food. i'll definitely be back to try more of the menu.“
“After visiting a VW show in Long Beach and showing homes in the South Bay we wanted some genuine Filipino food and this smaller restaurant was rated as one of the best... for a good reason. Michelle is an awesome host, very talkative and informative. My mother-in-law was born and raised in Pampanga and the roots of the restaurant are Pampangan as well. Sisig and Silog were very nice, halo halo a welcome palette cleanser. Parking was not difficult, even though we arrived at around 1pm on a Saturday. 10/10, highly recommended!“
“There are vents that go pretty low so you don't get as much smoke smell on your clothes after the meal.Wait time was good (as a walk-in on Sat night ~8pm).The bonchon selection is quite good - the mat kimchi is fresh but still has the fermentation I expect of good kimchi. Not going to review each one, there was a wide selection and refills on all of them.We got the beef combo, with boneless short ribs. The boneless short ribs were my favorite. They do come by to flip your meat (but don't hover over your shoulder).Jazz started off our service but every waiter was friendly and went out of their way to help! I left a good tip for that.Parking: The parking can be limited because there are so many good food places in the same plaza.“
“Seriously the BEST beef jerky I've ever had, HANDS DOWN! Everyone who tastes it freaks and now I have to hide it from my guests! Its fresh, so tender and tastes great! I've always loved jerky but had issues with how TOUGH it was, this stuff is briskett so its SOFT and melts in your mouth! My go-to JERKY for life. You can order online @ bulkbeefjerky.com or go to the shops in Long Beach or San Pedro. They also have a shop in Johnson, TX where its made! YUM...check them out.“
“I have been *quite* delinquent at keeping up with converting review drafts to actual reviews - but I feel especially bad seeing this one un-posted still, given it was just in the local news last week, they're putting their popup on temporary-but-indefinite pause because it wasn't getting enough business... hopefully they do reopen, ideally in a proper space, because their bbq is *great*. I hadn't ever been to their now-closed official popup location, but after having heard how great they were for the previous year, I finally had a chance to try them over the summer, at the Beachwood anniversary event. I loved that I was able to buy meat in quarter-pound increments, so I could try two of my favorite bbq meats, brisket and pulled pork. The pulled pork was great; the brisket was probably the best brisket I've had from a bbq place in Long Beach (it's still not Franklin, but *nothing* is Franklin). I also tried their mac & cheese - they only had one size, for $8, but that size was *large*. The mac & cheese was also great. Seriously friendly people, too, so I really hope they succeed in their quest for a brick-and-mortar spot. (And that the quality is as good once they do, both so I don't have to give them a worse review later, and because I would like to have that brisket again! And because they're great people and they deserve to succeed, of course.)“
“Been here a few times, have ordered the pho, vermicelli, spring rolls, and a rice plate. I can easily recommend any of these items! My favorite so far has been the combo vermicelli where you can pick two proteins. If you're looking for your pho fix, this is the spot.“
“Truly excellent yakiniku in the heart of Gardena. Legit A5 wagyu, American wagyu, dinner sets they even have oxtail soup, egg soup, great service, perfect seasoning. It costs a grip but it really is worth it. Authentic Japanese Yakiniku. You need to come here.“
“The ambiance and servers were so kind and humorous, the food was absolutely bomb too!! Overall amazing experience as it was my first time at a K-BBQ, and I came with my best friend, her mom, and my sister. Loved this place and hope to come back soon!“
“I lived in S Korea for two years and lived for my next meal in that beautiful country. Eating at Hwang's was like being back in Korea. if you have never had Korean food, this is the place for you to start. If you love Korean food this is one of your best choices.“
“Outstanding professional staff. Both staff servers were courteous, responsive, and really worked to satisfy all customer needs. Food preparation, display, and quality were exceptional. Open fire cooking is enjoyable and we left with full stomachs and are definitely looking forward to a return. BEST PART, it was our Anniversary dinner - what a way to make for a pleasant memory! Thank you to the entire staff.“
“What's wrong with me? I've been to the Long Beach creamery and the Bundt cake place but never tried the meat place. It seems like it was closed whenever I came to this shopping center over the years. I have finally gone several times in the last 2 months and love it! Their smoked chicken sausage has fresh herbs that you can taste like sage and oregano and it's such a depth in the flavors -- you don't even need any BBQ sauce. I've used the sausage for my Cajun pasta, and my New Year's black eyed peas. I've also used them in a chicken pot pie I made on Christmas. You can't go wrong here although it's a little on the pricey side, it's worth it for fresh quality smoked meat! My new go-to!“
“I had high expectations from the pictures and reviews, but they were still blown away after my first experience eating at Lacquered. I brought my family to dine-in on Easter Sunday and they had a blast drawing on the placemats and trying all of the popular fish and chicken dishes. Scott was also a blast and was a great host. He made sure we had everything we needed and went above and beyond for our first time there. We tried the five-piece fried chicken plate, 2 piece tenders with fries, fish and chips, chicken salad, and mac and cheese. We recommend each one of these plates and we will definitely be coming back to try the rest of the menu.“
“We try to grab a delicious meal here at least once a month. The picanha is delicious and you will be satisfied with all the other cuts, there is something for everyone, no seafood though. Salad buffet has a great variety and they serve feijoada (black bean stew) daily. The service is superb and I enjoy how the tables are not too close to each other and allows for nice conversations. My son always enjoy the ice cream w chocolate fudge for dessert.“
“Excellent place and location. I grew up around here, did educated training near here, gained assistance during my homeless time on the streets, gain many gay and lesbian locations, events, housing and support groups. The food we all eat together here, has to be from this local amazing restaurant and excellent service.“
“The korean fried chicken isso yummy here! I've tried a few other korean fried chicken places in the South Bay and this is my favorite. Can't go wrong with any of the flavors. But be warned - their spicy is seriously spicy. I love spicy and it was almost too much for me. I also highly recommend the rose toppoki.“
“Wow what an amazing meal! This place a delightful, bare bones cook your own fine meat to your precise liking. Excellent customer service and soju and sake. We came here for a birthday, and will definitely be returning. I highly recommend this restaurant.“
“This is a no nonsense local restaurant. The smell as you walk in is unbelievably inviting. Smells like real, home cooked BBQ. I ordered the Momona Combo Plate since it’s my first time trying out this place. That combo has BBQ Chicken, Kalbi and Beef ribs. I highly recommend you give this place a try. Your taste buds, your tummy and your wallet will thank you. Also you might try calling in your order ahead of time to avoid a wait as food is made to order.“
“5 stars! Everything about this restaurant is the best! The service was fast and efficient. The meat melted in our mouths. The quantity of food served was awesome! We highly recommend it! We ordered the beef tasting menu and couldn't be happier!“
“Best ribs, amazing corn bread. Sometimes they are understaff and or just busy. Came on a Thursday last week took a short bit to be seated but as served almost right away. Love the staff. The issue I have here is they are open from mon-Fri they are only open from 4pm-9pm which is very short and on weekends from 12pm-9pm and or 10pm. Now it's hard for some people to eat here because of the timing. Some people have to work on weekends which is difficult to come eat here since for some it's far and by the time you get there it could be busy and or be to late in the day to even want to go out and eat.I know it's a cost/dinner thing but I would like to see the place open more since I'm one of the few who works on weekends and has one day off.Secondly is parking. The lot is very small maybe 18 spots but probably less I didn't count. Other than that a great place to eat!Parking: Secondly is parking. The lot is very small maybe 18 spots but probably less I didn't count.“
“EXCELLENT!!. I had Gumbo Fries which was full of chicken, shrimp and sausage and the file/sauce was Flavorful and was soo good. My Friend had the Catfish basket which was cooked to perfection and cobbler. We/I will definitely be back. Great location for family and alone time. Most of all the service was WONDERFUL and everyone including the cook/chef made us feel Welcomed and took the time to talk to us and made sure we were satisfied. Do yourself a favor and try it yourself.“
“The location is small but it was an amazing experience. The workers were all super tentative I didn't get a chance to call them over because they came as soon as they saw us slowing down on food. Everything was delicious I highly recommend for a date bight or a nice quiet dinner with a friend“
“Had recently visited New Orleans and needed something in the SoCal area to scratch that itch. Had the seafood gumbo and a shrimp po'boy with mac and cheese. The owner was lovely and incredibly nice. Food did take a bit of time but so worth it. The shrimp in the po'boy was well seasoned and had amazing flavor. The gumbo was phenomenal as well, packed with everything you'd expect giving you a nice warm fuzzy feeling after eating it. Mac and cheese was great too, rich in flavor. Will drive up from OC to eat here again soon.“
“Lee's tofu is a small Korean restaurant in Gardena. It is located in a plaza with other restaurants so parking can be a little difficult depending on the day or at night time, however parking is free and for an unlimited amount of time. This restaurant is small but the servers are very friendly. They also have a lot of banchan or sides and are more than happy to give extra. I love getting bibimbap on the hot stone, it is my absolute favorite. I will definitely keep coming back.“
“I was never a big fan of gopchang, as eating intestines was a bit icky to me. However, this place has changed my view on gopchang! I think the places I had gopchang before had poor quality meat/intestines as it never tasted "fresh" or of good quality. I felt that thus restaurant had good quality meat and every side dishes they had was very delicious. The dwenjangjjigae was the best part of the side dishes along with the radish kimchi. Not only was the food amazing, the service was outstanding, as the servers were very attentive and kind. Would def come back for more gopchang!!“
“?? CROATIA (via Eat the World Los Angeles) - When you see the large roof-mounted rooster crowing over Pacific Avenue in San Pedro, you know you have arrived at the right place. What began as a poultry butcher in 1922 (yes, 102 years ago!) became more of a fast food restaurant in the 1950’s and 1960’s when they changed locations twice. This gave the opportunity for the Croatian immigrant owners to sneak some foods from back home onto the menu.“
“Thanks to the guys at Anytime Hawaiian for a great local dinner. We were craving some local food and found Anytime Hawaiian right across the Disneyland bus depot on Harbor. Great guys and great food. Thank you. We will definitely be back again. Aloha“
“Definitely worth getting! Love the flavor , the brisket was absolutely the best I EVER had. The pulled pork was on point , Mac&cheese , potato salad , beans all had flavor and richness unlike others. Hats off to the bbq master. On another side I don't recommend the chicken it's very basic. Especially next to the colossal tastes the other meats bring to the table.“
