“This place is a gem in Cos Cob. Everything is delicious and it's very gluten-free and dairy-free friendly for my dietary needs. My go-to's are the quarter chicken meal with brussel sprouts, creamy tahini sauce, and the fries. Dare I say, best brussel sprouts I've ever had. The sauce is divine!Vegetarian options: There are some vegetarian options in the form of sides, salads and wraps.Dietary restrictions: Menu items are clearly labeled for gluten-free and vegan options.“

“Made a reservation here for restaurant week. Apparently didn't need one. The place has its own parking lot with about a dozen spots. We entered the building which took us into the bar, which was bustling. The dining room was quaint, with some really nice booths and a fireplace that should have been lit. Our server was a good looking young man, pleasant, not overbearing with a sense of humor. We opted to include an additional appetizer of baked clams to our meal, along with the crab cake and winter salad, which I forgot to take photos of. My friend opted for the lamb chops while I had the branzino piccata. Yummy, although the menu never stated that the fish was served over a shrimp risotto. (I'm allergic to shrimp). Only 1 bone in the fish, so I was lucky. Our dessert consisted of tiramisu and rainbow cookie cheesecake. I was "fortunate" to get the last piece although not very cheesecake-y. All in all we had a nice dinner and will maybe return for another meal.“

“Whitby Castle in Rye, NY is the absolute best & most perfect place for a wedding & we very highly recommend it as your wedding venue! We got married in March 2024 on a Saturday afternoon at Whitby & it was better than we ever could have imagined thanks to the breathtaking venue & all the amazing managers & staff. We looked at 10 wedding venues in Tri-state area before finding Whitby, & we knew we had to get married there the minute we saw it. First was the gorgeous castle & grounds (flawlessly manicured lawns on Rye Golf club & striking views of LI Sound), & how the venue provided accommodations for all weather types. Next was the wedding package, which included everything needed & was the best price for all options; we couldn’t find a better price anywhere.From our first meeting w/ Niki, the Catering Sales Manager at Whitby, we knew we made the right choice. Niki handled everything w/ the venue throughout the process, including catering, vendors, amenities & all options available through Whitby. Niki took the time to get to know us & thoroughly explained the numerous elements to consider when planning our wedding. She made us feel as if she genuinely cared about us & our wedding (because she did). We later met w/ the Ops Manager, Ralph, about 3 weeks before the wedding & he was just as awesome. Ralph had all the particulars laid out for every aspect of our wedding & provided a comprehensive timeline & wedding plan. Niki & Ralph were incredibly professional & knowledgeable, & also exceedingly responsive & accommodating.Weather was no concern on our wedding day because of how Whitby operates. They have complete & functional outdoor heating throughout the wraparound patio that hosted much of cocktail hour, despite it being high 50°. We had wonderful sun on morning of our wedding, but it was windy & our ceremony would be on colder side in afternoon. We did not want our guests to sit in the cold, so we had an indoor wedding, & it was beyond stunning. The magnificent arch windows in the reception hall gave us astonishing light & scenic views for the ceremony. Regardless of weather, they set up for both options, to have our wedding inside or outside. We thought this was amazing considering how unpredictable weather can be. Some venues tend to have multiple weddings to maximize space, but we appreciated that Whitby treated us as the main event.In addition to astounding views & spectacular customer service, the entrées & various food courses were outstanding. I am not sure which our guests raved about more, the delectable food or marvelous views. We also have nothing but phenomenal things to say about Rosa, the bridal attendant at Whitby. Rosa was exceptionally attentive & helpful throughout the day. Niki, Ralph, Rosa, & our maître d', Gabriel, were all extremely organized & prepared for every scenario. There were so many moving parts & minute details involved in our wedding, but Gabriel was so on top of everything & made it a day to remember. The service was impeccable & all Whitby staff were tremendously kind & helpful. Nearly all our guests told us how it was not only the most beautiful & fun wedding they have ever been to, but the best party. Whitby gave us a wedding beyond our dreams. We couldn’t be happier w/ our wedding & we know it was all because of the venue & their fantastic team. “Just stopped in today for lunch and picked up the Fish Sandwich of the Day. Absolutely delicious fresh grilled branzino on a fresh brioche roll with greens and amazing fresh tartar sauce. I chose the salad side instead of fries and it was delicious with a great, homemade vinagarette. I will be back to try more! Well done!“

“this place rules - only have gotten the nuggets and fries but the nuggets are always perfectly crispy and flavorful (even after delivery, which is pretty rare) and often plentiful. the fries are okay - sometimes they are quite good but i have definitely had a soggy fry or two. that's the only real issue i've experienced, though!“

When beginning the venue search we knew we wanted a waterfront venue with an outdoor space for the ceremony and a suitable indoor option in case the weather didn't cooperate. “I was here on business. I went to familiar territory. Wegmans. Who doesn't like Wegmans? Surely not me. Wegmans has their formula down to a science. I ordered at the burger bar. I am currently doing the CARNIVORE diet and ordered just cheeseburgers patties. They were used to dealing with peculiar requests. The burgers were made, but they forgot the cheese. When I went low key upset (but always respectful) they promptly fixed it by handing me 3 slices of cheese and patting me on the head. Anywho, there are the regular tables and booths where you can have a seat and eat your food. There was plenty of space. I went during dinner and there were maybe 5 or 6 people sitting in the dining area designed for 60. After eating, I went to buy some essentials in the grocery store section. I literally bought bacon and cooked it in the hotel room the next day. lol.“

“I have been coming to Happiness Is for years. I work from home in the area, and Happiness Is is a great local place for lunch. I walk there from my house at least 2 to 3 times a month. I am a huge fan of their Thursday chicken and spinach quesadillas. I also very much enjoy their sandwiches, particularly the Norbadeer and the Caprese. The baked goods are yummy too. I have had the brownie and the chocolate croissant- both were good. The food is delicious and fresh, and the prices are reasonable for the area. There have been a few surly employees over the years, including a guy who insisted he had given me sour cream with my quesadilla when he definitely gave me salad dressing. Those occasions have been rare, though, and I generally have had pleasant experiences with the staff.“
