“I must confess..... I have never eaten at Dino's. It just so happens that my neighbors are the owners. I have had the opportunity to try their pizza and other things and I must say it is delicious. Gus and Stella are great at what they do, and they are generous people. I am beyond grateful for the meals they provided after my dad passed unexpectedly (the neighborhood is still stunned) so my family and I could focus on arranging the funeral and mourning my dad's death in peace.“

“Sal worked with us for my grandsons baptism party. The roast beef was tender and flavorful. Lemon chicken was amazing. Roasted vegetables with hot peppers, WOW! Roasted potatoes, fantastic! “I want to start the review by saying that I do have a background in culinary being an executive chef for many years and now teaching culinary.My wife and I decided to try this place for dinner and we're not disappointed. In fact, we had a great experience!I want to also say that everything there is made in house, using quality products, including the rolls for the sandwiches. My wife and I split a rigatoni Bolognese to start. The pasta was cooked al dente, and the meat sauce was authentic and delicious. Next we had a meatball calzone with ricotta cheese and mozzarella. The dough was so good as I was cutting pieces with the meatball and cheese making like little sandwiches, I can honestly say it was great! We also ordered a pizza which is made thin crust nice bubbles coming out of the oven, beautifully brown on the bottom crispy crust. The tomato sauce and cheese of a high-quality as well as the other toppings. I would rate this pizza, an 8.8 out of 10. Leaving room for the pizza meccas In New Haven. If you don't want to drive an hour, I recommend you try the pizza here! I had to try a half an order of shrimp scampi, the shrimp were done perfectly not overcooked, linguini was al dente, and the sauce is about as good as I've ever had, capers, sliced fresh garlic, lemon. I also ordered an Italian cold cut grinder to go with plenty of mortadella, capicola, salami, and pepperoni reminiscent of Franklin giant grinder in the south end of Hartford. I planned on reviewing the restaurant so we also have lunch tomorrow! It's a gem in Cromwell that shouldn't be missed!“

“I come for the gyro and bacon cheeseburger platters; not a fan of Greek-style pizza (Neopolitan all the way!). Besides a couple minor order glitches, I've always been pleased with the friendly and attentive service, food quality, flavor, freshness, portions and price. I've only been there at pretty quiet times, but there's constant take-out foot traffic regardless of when I go, which is a good sign in my book.“

“This restaurant opened in a place that had been a happening pizza place, Mario's. After a brief shut down Agapi opened. Their food is such a higher caliber of good! I don't understand why it's not busier. The quality, taste and price are fantastic. We've tried their pizza's, burgers and traditional Greek dishes and will try even more things! “I usually love their pizza but I would recommend going there in person for it or double checking it lately. Ordering online doesn't work since its hard to customize pizzas and ots a 10 minute longer wait minimum. We got 2 pizzas for pick up ordered over the phone. 1st the girl was handling more than one phone at a time so not really knowing if we had her full attention. 2nd we ordered the oozy egg no proscute with an extra egg instead. there was no proscute but also no extra egg and the eggs were on only half the pizza. my hubby asked for a side of red pepper flakes they gave him .5oz, kind of stingy. the 2 pizzas came to $38+ and at that price they could at least pay attention and get the order right. Even if they might have been busy, at least do a quality check or read the order back to the customer so it is right.“

“Went here when I was a young kid years ago, and after the brothers sold it, it went downhill for a while until they closed for remodeling, and lol they must have remodeled their food too because it’s one of the best Italian places I know of now!Everything from their pizza to calzones and meals are delicious. Had the eggplant Parmesan tonight and there was definitely enough to feed two people. It had a ton of delicious eggplant and a beautiful melted layer of mozzarella on top. And you get a side salad and 3 huge garlic knots. Their prices are more than fair for the price quality of the food you’re getting.The staff there is amazing as well. They sound like they actually care and are very polite and welcoming. When ordering over the phone a lot of these places sound like they dont care about your business, but pizza palace is the exact opposite.“

“AJ's is a local gem nestled in the center of a plaza right off the main road in Higganum. For those of you traveling back from the beach in the summer, it's a winner. For me, I wanted to visit a new town in CT and pick a place to eat. I'm glad I chose AJ's. When you walk in the main section is set up for takeout with a plexiglass view behind the counter where the pizza is made. To the right is the main seating area if you are choosing to dine in. The seating is casual and has a home like an American diner vibe. If you are looking for good Italian at good price, AJ's is your place. Their menu contains all your standard Italian dishes for dine in and takeout as well as pizza and grinders. The menu is a two-sided page, and there is a separate special sheet given as well. Although I love me some standard Italian dishes, after reading some reviews, I knew that was either going for their grinders or taking a chance on their specials. Welp folks, special it was. They had 3 that week, and I chose to try their Chicken Andouille. This dish consisted of a creamy sauce with chicken, Andouille sausage, capers, and squash mixed into penne pasta. Wow. Delicious. The spicy kick to the sausage gave it a creamy heat, and I loved the nice touch of capers and crunchiness of the squash. The squash was cooked but not overcooked (sometimes it can get mushy, but not the case here). When we went today, the inside was quiet. Just a few tables had people. That's okay with me. It allows me to relax a bit as I eat and enjoy the food. The server was great. She was all smiles and bringing us everything in a timely fashion. If you are driving through Higganum and need a place to grab a lunch or dinner at a reasonable price, check out AJs. You won't regret it.“

“Highly recommend! Came in to grab some slices and they were so yummy. Jay was incredibly kind to us and helpful to accommodate some special food needs we had. The buffalo chicken slice had chunks of blue cheese and was so flavorful. All 3 slices we got were delicious. Dying to try their Big Mac slices. The closest I’ve seen to nyc in terms of pizza by the slice. Slices were big and so yummy. Thanks so much!!! We will definitely be back!“

“I LOVE Da Vincis! I work in town & was struggling to find a place that I liked for lunch. I eat a predominantly plant based diet & love my salads. I don’t like to get take out often, I tried a salad from the pizza place across the street from them once and was quickly disappointed. My coworker then suggested that I look at Da Vincis menu & the Leonardo Salad quickly caught my eye and has since stole my heart. I was a server for many years and I always get nervous asking for substitutions. The staff was so accommodating even though I’m a pain and ask for no cheese on my salad and the addition of a bunch of veggies! From what I hear from my coworkers the rest of their menu is just as delicious including the Mac & Cheese Bites, Baked Chicken Bites, Fried Pickles and Calzones to name a few. “Always has been and still is the best pizza in town. If you aren't looking for pizza they have other great items on their menu as well. If you've never tried their food, you should definitely give it a try. The staff is always friendly and the service is reasonably quick. There are some tables inside if you're looking to dine in, but it is primarily a take out restaurant as most pizza places are.“
