“I had heard positive reviews so tried it out. Wasn't disappointed. Got a small sausage and mushroom pie which was very good. Dough was good , fresh cut mushrooms instead of canned and plenty of sausage and it was cooked as I asked for a change. Also got a meatball grinder which was good also. New owner have brightened up interior of space also. Definitely will go back again“

“The wings are so good. We were in town visiting family, and they took us here to try the wings. It's an old establishment with a lot of character. The staff was very friendly and they seated us pretty quickly. We all got wings. They came out hot and covered in sauce. I got the mango habenero sauce, and it was the perfect blend of sweet and spicy. The wings were large in size, too. An order of 7 was enough to fill me up. They had a good selection of beers, too. Give it a try if you are looking for a historic pub with great food and spirits.“

“I've been coming to AJ's for over 20 years. literally every time I have friends from out of town visit me and want to have a drink and some good bar food we go to AJ's. every single one of my out-of-town friends always says this is the best bar food they've ever had in their life. I literally have friends who call me up to come to Meriden just to have food from AJ's. my kids are addicted to the food at AJ's as well . I can honestly say if I ever move out of Connecticut, AJ's is one of the very few restaurants that I would ever truly miss and want to stop by if I come back to Connecticut for a visit. “I came here for dinner with my girlfriend and had a great experience. I had the mac and pork while she had the boneless wings. The atmosphere is a sports bar feeling so if your really into sports unlike me then this is really the place the you. Also I would like to note that you able to play Keno from the CT lottery here as well. The waitstaff was really friendly and kind along with letting you sit where ever you choose. I would definitely recommend this bar and grill which is right on route 17.“
“Hanging out with the wife on a Saturday night watching the UConn game. Crowd friendly. Everyone was into the game and it was a great atmosphere. Had the regular order of nachos with chicken and chili. On point as usual. Next up was 2 orders of 6 wings. Buffalo Bacon ranch(-fantastic) and Mango habanero(meh they were kind of flavorless and watery tasting.). Other than that just a few drinks. The waitress taking care of us was very on point. She went so far as to warn us when we sat down that the kitchen was extremely busy due to two separate parties they were hosting. Nice to know we could change our kids right up front.“

“Pretty good pizza, slices are HUGE! It's greasy, hot, quick, cheap, and tasty. And I loved every single bite! It was within walking distance of Yale/my hotel, and they are open very, very late. Not a lot of seating (2 tables), so they encourage to go, but the menu is extremely extensive and you will have a hard time making a choice. The prices are very reasonable and you can order everything from pizza, to calzones, to salads, and 4 types of cheesecake. It took maybe 5 mins to hear my pizza up. And they have a self service cooler full of maybe 30 different types of drinks. They have pizza boxes for single slices all the way up to extra large pizzas. Place was very clean and looked like a typical grab and go pizza parlor. Will return!“
