“My wife and I are foodies. For the past five years, this is our favorite restaurant in Connecticut, worth every penny. The tables may be small and crowded and the wine selection is very limited, but flavors are amazing, as is the variety of unexpected choices. We're hooked on some dishes, but I encourage you to explore the entire menu. You won't be disappointed.“
“This was our first time dining at The Whelk! The food was so flavorful and fulfilling! We started with chilled shrimp, roasted oysters, and the deviled eggs. We split the broccoli and fish/chips and it was very savory. My mouth was watering as I took every bite! We also had a tropical mezcal drink and it was absolutely delicious. The almond cake and chamomile tea was top notch. Our waitress Nicole was so sweet and attentive. We will definitely return!!“
“My wife and I ordered take-out from Tacombi. We had been to one in Jersey city a long time ago and recalled it was quite delicious. So we were eager to try it when it came to Westport. To our delight the food was delicious. I had a Birria Taco Plato, I thought it was flavorful the beef did not disappoint maybe wish there was more. I like how they package it for take-out. My wife had the fish taco and shrimp taco. I tried shrimp taco, it had a very bold flavor that catchs the back sides of the tounge (highly recommend). We also ordered corn esquites, best way to eat corn. Their Totopos (tortilla chips) are addicting nice crunch goes well with guacamole. We also chicken quesidilla, which was also pleasant maybe could have used more cheese. I look forward to dining in as the weather gets better.“
“By far the best restaurant I’ve ever been in Connecticut. I’m a local, I’m a foodie, I love going around and trying everything. I’m Brazilian, my friend is Moroccan, and we’ve also extensively traveled in our countries. We both agreed, never tried food as delicious as a bartaco’s.The Poké bowl is delicious, but my personal preference is the pork belly taco. I get six every time I go there.Fun fact, if you get the press, leches cake, they’ll actually give you a lid to close the jar if you don’t finish all of it. I dream about that cake sometimes. Also, I work in the industry, and every chef I’ve ever met, has good things to say about that place.“
“Don’t know who needs to hear this but this is the spot for Thai take out in CT.I don’t look at the menu anymore (I’m sure the other food is great) but my order is: papaya salad, pad see ew chicken (but I think the picture actually shows pad kee mao that’s my b), vegetable green curry, and shaking beef. Hits all categories and is well-balanced.The food comes out fast and I always do take out. The parking to pick it up is actually quite a pain given where they are located. But it’s worth it!“
“I actually didn't read reviews prior to ordering, but my experience was totally satisfactory. I used their website for a pick-up order and everything was hot, fresh and they actually read my requests for the items I bought. (Dietary & traveling restrictions like dressing on the side, no meat, etc etc) I only knock it down to 4 stars because the staff wasn't super friendly as I walked in. Waitresses acted like I interrupted their important conversation and directed me to the counter where I wasn't really spoken to. Last thing was my salad... I feel like I paid $12 for arugula. Toppings were almost non-existent and each bite was mostly arugula. I also feel like it needed gorgonzola cheese which... their menu claims it has but didn't exist in my salad. I probably could have bought the ingredients myself and fed multiple people with the amount I paid for this salad. Overall, my pizza was amazing at least. Maybe a little too much fig but the crust and flavor profiles were great. Would definitely come back for pizza, but that's all I have to say.“
“We hosted a private party here yesterday and Terry, the manager, was beyond incredible! I work in the restaurant industry, so I truly appreciate when the level of service is exceptional! They closed the restaurant down for us, provided a band that was so good that they should be recording their own albums (Green Eyed Lady), offered top shelf open bar, and a buffet featuring all the fun bar food the Black Duck is known for...all at a reasonable price. The staff was warm, attentive, and professional. You need to be prepared that the ambience is that of a dive bar, which is what I expected and wanted ....not fancy, with crooked floors, and no frills. That being said, I would book another event at the Black Duck in a heartbeat!“
“It was our first time at Rossutos.. the ambiance is very inviting and the food was amazing. Allona offered as an excellent service and with her great personality and knowledge she guided us to the right choices with warmth and made our experience a pleasant one! We will be back soon!“
