“A few days ago, I visited Kanji Sushi & Ramen in Brandon for the first time, and I was thoroughly impressed. The word ‘Kanji’ translates to ‘feeling’ in Japanese, and this restaurant certainly delivers a great one. The sushi bar is modern and lively, with solid service and a sleek interior. We started with the Lychee martini, beautifully presented with a sugared rim—refreshing and perfectly executed. For our main course, we ordered miso soup, which was delicious, followed by the Santa Barbara, Godzilla, and Sweetheart rolls. Each roll was generous in portion, beautifully presented, and absolutely satisfying. The atmosphere was buzzing, and by the time we left around 8:30 PM, every table was full. It’s great to see this restaurant thriving, especially in a plaza where other establishments have struggled. I’m not sure if it’s the area or just bad luck for those previous spots, but I truly hope Kanji succeeds. Brandon could certainly use more standout dining options, and this place shows great promise!”

There was a slight mix-up with my order, but Luis (possibly the manager) went out of his way to make it right. He even kept my extra iced coffee in the fridge for me to take to go. And checked on me personally while I was eating. The Rise & Shine meal was perfect—I enjoyed it and even had some leftovers to take home. The fruit cup was fresh, and the regular hot black coffee that comes with the meal was surprisingly good. Overall, a great experience despite a bit pricey.”

“I absolutely LOVE Fitlife Foods! I have one down by me in soho as well. I love that both franchises have staff who are always willing to help you find what you are looking for. I love being able to grab my meals for the week and not have to worry about the hustle and bustle of meal prepping. I would highly recommend fitlife foods to any of my friends trying to meal prep, but struggling to do so. Or even just trying to figure out portion sizing and feeding their body healthy and very filling meals.”

“Olive Garden is an old favorite. Fun place to have dinner with friends or family. I like coming at lunch for the soup and salad. Usually a wait in the evening for dinner but well worth it. Full Italian fare everything from spaghetti and meatballs, lasagna, scampi, food so good you’ll thing you were in Italy. Splurge and have the wine pairing next time you’re there. And don’t forget a $6 entree to take home.

Parking: Parking can be challenging in the evening. Part of the parking lot is shared with Red Lobster.

“Ordered to-go from Liang’s Bistro pretty much by accident. I was in the area and wanted Asian to go but not Chinese or Ramen or Sushi. Limits the options, yes. Went here hoping it was more than a typical Chinese takeout shop. It turned out to be a bistro, as it is called, with a pretty and warm interior, table-side service and an impressive wine storage along one wall. The restaurant features an open kitchen with a large but not overwhelming menu. I chose yellow curry chicken, Thai basil with tofu and a pad Thai dish as well as shrimp lettuce wraps. Everything was delicious even though it was an hour before I made it home for us to eat dinner. What I like best is they do a little of everything - Vietnamese, Thai, Chinese and even noodles and poke without offering so many of each kind that you know it’s going to be awful. The manager took great care of me, mentioning that this is their second location after a long stint in Tampa and that the business is owned by a Chinese individual who is adamant about serving Asian food, rather than just his country’s dishes. I liked it and look forward to taking my family and friends. Feels comfortable and is affordable. I spent $62 to feed four people and we have leftovers in the fridge.”

“Olive Garden is an old favorite. Fun place to have dinner with friends or family. I like coming at lunch for the soup and salad. Usually a wait in the evening for dinner but well worth it. Full Italian fare everything from spaghetti and meatballs, lasagna, scampi, food so good you’ll thing you were in Italy. Splurge and have the wine pairing next time you’re there. And don’t forget a $6 entree to take home.

Parking: Parking can be challenging in the evening. Part of the parking lot is shared with Red Lobster.
