“If you're going to order Hungry Howie's, from this Deerfield Beach location, I suggest you don't do it from Uber. Not just one time, but a good amount of times they don't pay any attention to special orders. All I asked for was no cheese and they couldn't do that. When I called them and told them they told me that either I can order it again through Uber which I would have to pay for it again, or I can drive and pick up what I ordered. What would be the point if I ordered it through Uber. I guess I wasn't important enough to have them send the right order to me even though they screwed it up again. When I went in again to pick up my food they offered me a very weak apology which didn't really mean much since that's all they offered even though they took a half hour out of my time to pick up what they were supposed to deliver. That is the end of my Hungry Howie's business. I will be sure to describe this situation on my podcast. pizza was burnt also”

Parking: JBs is located on a busy bend by the pier in Deerfield. It has pedestrians, bicycles and a whole array of cars always being dropped off, the valets do a great job!”

This place isn’t just my wife’s favorite Venezuelan restaurant—it’s her comfort zone. Every time we walk in, it’s like someone opened a door to her childhood. The smells, the music, the way the staff greets her like she’s family—it’s beautiful to watch. And honestly, that alone would earn this place five stars.

But here’s the part that really matters to me: I’m not Venezuelan. I’m the cringo in the corner trying to pronounce “cachapa” without sounding like I’m ordering a Pokémon. And yet, they never make me feel out of place. The staff is kind, patient, and genuinely excited to share their culture. They walk you through the menu like they’re inviting you into their home kitchen.

I’ve learned to love the food, sure—but I’ve also learned to love how this place makes people feel. Whether you grew up eating arepas or you’re just curious and hungry, they make you feel welcome. And that’s rare.

So yeah, five stars. Not just for the food, but for the feeling.”

Our hostess hooked us with her smile and pleasant suggestions to give them a shot. There were three of us, two had the grouper sandwich and I had the wrap. The sandwiches are huge! The rolls were fresh and fluffy. Definitely a must stop! We come fishing every year and definitely will be back. We caught Rick the manager on the way out and were able to share how pleased we were.”

I ordered the vegetable soup, and it was one of the best vegetable soup I had ever had quite condensed with tofu and the vegetables. I also ordered the spicy tuna sushi rolls excellent. I even like the seaweed wrap that they use, which was very different from other places that I have been a patron of. I will go again and make it one of my regular places to eat. I do agree with other reviews that it is some of the best sushi I have had in this particular area of Florida.”

“I ordered 7 chicken empanadas, 1 ground meat, 1 cheese, and 2 cazón—and honestly, I loved all of them, especially the cazón, which was my favorite. The flavors were great and the food was fresh, the mora juice was amazing.

One downside was the sauce situation. We asked for extra sauce, and at first, they refused, which was frustrating. In the end, they did give us one extra, but it felt like pulling teeth.

Also, the restaurant could definitely use some cleaning—it didn’t look very tidy. However, the staff was friendly, and the cashier in particular provided excellent service. Overall, good food with room for improvement in cleanliness and customer service flexibility.”
