“Arguably the best food on MCBH. I visited a few spots on the base and this one was too good to not visit again. LOVED the boneless wings - the burgers are good too. Sit at the bar for great service. Definitely will come back the next time i visit!“

“Southern love is a true gem, especially in the Southern food desert of Hawai’i. We tried the fried okra, fried catfish plate, rib plate, and peach cobbler for dessert…and they all were stellar. The sides especially did not disappoint, and those are my favorite part of Southern food (we tried the baked beans and collard greens, and loved the homemade cornbread too). It’s perfect for a casual date night to watch the chef cook right in front of you, or perfect for take out. But make sure to eat it fresh, because the breading on their fried goods is top notch and shouldn’t be wasted. Mahalo for such a wonderful and comforting culinary experience!“

“It was a nice surprise to have lunch here with family! We grabbed a strawberry yuzu soda, one of the specials, local beets salad, and the toast and Fete spreads to share. The soda was more so a juice consistency, topped with dried citrus for a zing and was both tasty and refreshing. We all loved the salad with fresh beets, arugula, and fried scallions. It was nice that it was a serving big enough for 3 people to share, too! As for our entrees, we tried a tuna salad sandwich, the lemon zucchini risotto, and fried chicken with a side of collard greens. Large portions! We didn't care for the tuna salad sandwich, it was a big sandwich with a hamburger bun and some bacon, but just was not what we wanted.. The lemon zucchini risotto on the other hand....it wowed us Fried chicken came with a spicy tomato jam that was yummy, and chicken was nice and tender. A little bit oily but otherwise nice crunchy skin. Decided to share a strawberry fennel sorbet for dessert walking back and it was very flavorful with equal blend of both. All in all we ended up very full and satisfied from our lunch here. Less than $120 for 3 people 3 meals 2 apps and drinks was not bad at all! We enjoyed almost everything we tried and liked the creativity of the menu as well as the fresh and organic ingredients used. Looking forward to trying more!“

“Stumbled upon Bobos while driving around the island on a rainy day. Food was amazing, better than the food we are having at the resort we are staying at. And Bobo was there sharing awesome homemade mojo hot sauce that was made from fresh garden peppers. This is truly a one of a kind place that really cares about the food and quality. Ordering online was easy and convenient for not only us but for uncle bobos as well. This is a mom and pop place that is a must try in my book!“

“A must-visit famous restaurant that ranks as the latest in Hawaiian gourmet food. Each dish is infused with ingenuity and a variety of tastes, and I hear that its reputation has only increased since it opened in 2016.If you remember the names of chefs Anthony Rush and Chris Kajioka, something good will come of it.It is located in downtown, about 25 minutes from Waikiki, taking into account traffic congestion. As a leading Hawaiian gourmet restaurant on Oahu that continues to evolve over the years, this is a restaurant that you should definitely make a reservation for when you come to Oahu.“

“A world class burger joint. Might be the best deal in Hawaii. The burger is always cooked to perfection. Crispy edges and juicy. Fries are crisp, salty, and flavorful. The beer is local and cold. The staff is always friendly, quick, and inviting. I seriously can’t give this place enough praise. A true gem. If you are looking for a great meal at a reasonable price, you won’t find better on the island.“

“I stumbled on Olena by accident and it was the best accident ever! Wendy saw me reading through the menu and stopped and chatted with me. She was so passionate about the quality of the food and was very knowledgable about celiac and gluten-intolerance. While, I do not have celiac I am gluten-intolerant and adhere to a gluten-free diet. Eating out can be very tricky. But Olena offers many gluten-free options - an out-of-this-world beef stew, fall-off-the-bone lilikoi bbq ribs, tender-as-can-be brisket, and my MOST FAVORITE their gluten-free Almond Tarts - I routinely buy 6 at a time. Since my first visit, I have met Rose who is a dynamo and goes above and beyond for their customers. John, another Olena team member, is always bright and cheery. The quality, consistency, and dedication Olena delivers is awesome.“

“The staff were super cool; and once my friend disclosed his gluten allergy, he made sure to reiterate what items were cleared.I don’t have a gluten allergy and ordered nachos topped with chili and mock chicken. The “chicken” had a bit of sweetness to the batter, the chili was delicious, and the other sauces and toppings brought together a unique flavor for nachos. These were some of the best nachos I’ve had! The portion was huge; enough for two to share! I’ll definitely stop by Umeke on a future trip to the city.Dietary restrictions: Vegan“

“Marugame Udon in Waikiki is a must-visit spot for anyone in Honolulu. The food is truly amazing, with a variety of udon dishes that are both delicious and satisfying. What stood out the most was the self-service concept, atmosphere, and helpful staff which made the dining experience quick and hassle-free. Despite the line outside, we were pleasantly surprised by how fast it moved, and before we knew it, we were enjoying our meal. If you're looking for a unique and tasty dining option in Waikiki, Marugame Udon should definitely be on your checklist.“

“We celebrated a big anniversary at Pai and WOW - they made it extra special. We did the four course menu with wine pairings. The service was top notch. The food was inspired, creative, delicious, and locally sourced. Though the portions of each dish looked small, it was more than enough food and so delicious you wanted to eat every bite! The wine pairings were spot on, absolutely perfect with our chosen courses. The space has such a lovely vibe - clean and modern, but comfortable and well appointed. There really isn't another dining experience quite like this on the island. Justine and Kevin have created such a beautiful place with incredible food and service. Pai is definitely a must-try restaurant. We will definitely be back.“

“Food- Food had good flavor and was quickly delivered. I wish the bacon was a little thicker, but it was flavorful. Waffle is made well and does not fall apart.Service- Would of given 5 stars, but 1 order was forgotten. They were nice though, and everything else was very promptly delivered.Atmosphere- Overall the place gives good island vibes. Has a fair amount of seating, especially for the size. But I'd have a hard time giving more then 3 because of the temperature. It is very warm, both me and my daughter were sweating while eating.“

“I was looking for "good cake noodle place" for Aunty's BD family party (food theme was Chinese) and on the Yelp, I typed "best cake noodle", then this place hit! Located at the Chinatown Cultural Plaza face to River St. This place is very cozy restaurant but the lady is very friendly and nice. We felt we were very welcomed. We did phone order, ~2 House Special Cake Noodles (gravy on side), 1 Sauted Garlic Ong Choy, and 1 Sauted Choy Dum- and we were told in 15-20minutes to ready. (The party size was small) House Special Cake Noodle has Choy Sum, Shrimp, fish cake, and sliced meat in a gravy, the noodles are fresh fried and after poor the gravy, the texture became soft and tasty. Sauted Garlic Ong Choy and Sauted Choy Sum were both good!!! I love this place and would like to try different menu next time! Anyway, we parked at the Chinatown Cultual Plaza parking, no validation but still cheeper than other parking. (In 30min is free 31min to 1 Hour is $1, after that $1 each additional per hour. If you just order for to go, I recommend to avoid exactly lunch time, it was easy to find the parking spot.“

“My first time have a dosa and I was missing out! The crepe was so crispy with a good texture, and I loved the ingredients inside! I got the chefs recommendation and the chef didn't fool me lol. Best to eat it fresh there - the half I ate at the restaurant definitely tasted better than the other half I had after being in the air fryer at home. It also came with a sambar (lentil soup) that had all the delicious spices in it. So hearty and healthy. The service was great. The ladies behind the counter were very nice. There's a part of the Kailua square so you can either park at the parking lot or use street parking. It's on the side where the parking lot is near cinnamons.“

“Reposted from @hawaiifoodreviews ????? ?????? (?/?? ?)?????: (? ?) Overall we thought the food at Seoul Kimbap was very good. ???? ?????? $?.?? (?:1) is my favorite Kimbap there. I do wish there was some American Cheese though. That would make it perfect! My wife prefers the Spicy Pork Kimbap. She says the Kimbap is the closest to homemade she's had in Hawaii. The wifey was born and raised in Korea so I'll take her word for it. You also get some fish cake soup with each order of Kimbap. I forgot to take a pic because I was excite to have the ?????? ???? $?.?? (? :2) is one of the wifey's faves. It's rich and hearty but balanced out by lots of kimchee. It is a Kimchi Soup of course!.???????? & ??????????: (? ?) We don't usually rate service for takeout but the service is always so friendly and welcoming we had to. “It has been a while since I've been to one of my favorite places. I loved lunches at Livestock on the regular. I was excited to come back and was happy the food, the vibe and the service were still exceptional. I love the look of this restaurant, but the food is what always brings me back. I was so happy they had the Hen of the Wood Mushrooms salad...my all-time favorite. Still tasty!!! We sat in the bar area on the high top (is that what it's called) tables. Very comfortable and allowed lots of space for food and drinks! I had the Steakhouse Salmon, and my friend had the Duck Breast. We both raved about our dishes. Our server - sorry I didn't get her name - so friendly, with the right amount of attentiveness...you just want to eat more -so we had two desserts (and coffee). Bread pudding -recommend!!! The ice cream sundae was good too. Lovely evening - thank you!“

The history of sake in Hawaii is very interesting and it's best to learn about it over great sushi here at Hanale. “Delicious, beautiful Vietnamese cuisine, bold in flavour! We came for lunch (on a whim) on a Saturday without reservations. Placed our name on “the list” at check in, and they texted us about 45mins later to notify us of a table being ready. If you know ahead of time, reservations are a good idea! For lunch, we started with le chicken wings. So crispy, hot and juicy! Full of flavour and the dipping sauce it sits on adds extra punch! For mains, we each had a Bahn mi and added a mini pho (extra $7). The beef brisket is so tender and delicious, charred veggies add so much depth. Highly recommend. The crispy pork bahn mi was also very good!! Worth a visit.Parking at the Chinatown Municipal lot is close and cheap if you don’t want to circle the block!! Daily max of $3, even cheaper on weekends (it’s $0.50/hr weekends)Parking: Parking at the Chinatown Municipal Lot is cheap ($0.75/hr weekdays, $0.50/hr weekends, and daily max of $3)“

“For some reason since the pandemic the price of Pho has skyrocketed. I mean everything has gone up in price, but pho seems to have gone up more than any other food. Pre pandemic, it was about $11. Now, if you're lucky its $16. My usual Pho place, Pho Tri on Kalakaua and Beretania had a special on Saturdays. Buy one bowl at about $11, get the second one for 50% off. Two people could dine for $20. After discontinuing this offer, they raised the price up to $16 meaning the cost had gone from $17 to $32. I stopped going there and stopped eating Pho as a result. For $16 you can still get a fresh caught fish plate at Nico's which to me represents much better value.Anyway I still get the urge to eat Pho and this place was convenient with excellent reviews. We got one Rare Steak and Meatball Pho ($17) and one Seafood Pho ($17.50).I would say everything was average. My dining partner said the broth was too oily. It didn't bother me too much. Size was average, amount of protein was average, amount of garnishments was average, taste was average. Everything is what you'd expect.Service was good. Water was refilled, and whom I presume were the owners were friendly. I think the price is a little high, but its a small restaurant and they need to make a living. I would go back if I wanted Pho and didn't want to drive. Some places in Chinatown, the taste and portion size is a little bit better and the prices are a couple bucks less.“
