“ICE CREAM- BOMB. It is light, flavorful and has a lot of yummy local flavors available. SERVICE-There is a young girl and young guy who have been working there a few times when my husband and I have visited and both are so dull and rude. The girl looks like we bothered her and slams the ice cream doors and provided samples in pure annoyance. AMBIANCE- It is quiet inside. Small seating. I'd consider it mainly a quick stop after the beach. Overall, I recommend the ice cream after a beach day in Waimanalo but don't expect much else.“
“After eating lunch in the food hall, we needed something to cleanse our palates, and matcha seemed like the perfect solution. We got the matcha and vanilla swirl and decided to get it in a cup instead of the cone--I can be clumsy sometimes so the cup seemed to be the safer option haha. The gentleman who took my order was very sweet and the order was ready as soon as I sat down at one of the tables nearby. I loved how the ice cream or soft serve wasn't very sweet, it was the perfect post-lunch dessert. For Waikiki, I thought the price was quite reasonable, so I'd definitely come back to try some of their other items.“
“You guys gotta come down and try this place. You like soft serve ice cream?? This place is the place to be. Got the niu ( coconut) ice cream and the ube cookies and cream. It's soooo good! Definitely a must try!!Parking: Parking is limited so come early. The place/ store opens at 1 pm .“
“This place was bomb! I love how it comes with mochi and fruit. Next time I'll ask for extra mochi. I got a small mint & chocolate. I could have used more chocolate. The lady was really nice. Plenty of space here to eat your dessert for groups of people.“
“Kids wanted dessert after brunch. This a great real fruit topping option spot for shave ice instead of the sugary syrups at all other shave ice stores. It's a tiny little location on a busy street so you have to know where you are going. There's only 1 or 2 workers and the toppings are made fresh so there is a little wait. But it's all worth it in the end to get real fruit and unique toppings.“
“7 Grady is said to have the best gelato in Hawaii!!A group of four girls came all the way from Waikiki to eat this haha. Just as I heard, it was so delicious and better than I could have imagined!!! I think the long walk was 120% worth it. My favorite, in particular, is the black sesame gelatoㅠㅠ I will definitely come back to Hawaii, so I promised to come again then!“
“Neat little place! It was right by my hotel which is super convenient, the service was super friendly, and the food was delicious. I only had their matcha and taro ice cream, but they have a lot of other options on their menu like tea floats, teas, and even limited time flavors like sakura blossom ice cream. It's also right by a very cozy plaza with string lights overhead and plenty of seating. Definitely recommend it.“
“Tried out this Hawai'i exclusive flavor called "The Cream." So good, 5/5. If you like Ube, you need to get this. It comes with ube, condensed milk, Rice Krispies, and graham crackers mixed in. Every bite has a slight nutty taste to it while still being creamy and having the ube flavor. Would love to get this flavor again as no other locations seem to have it. Service was good, nothing to complain about.“
“This was my favourite shave ice spot of the four I tried during my visit to Ohau. It’s a bit more expensive than the others, but the portion is big, and the flavours were delicious. The syrups used in the ones I’ve tried didn’t have that artificial taste, and the shave ice had a delicate fluffy texture. I tried the Heavenly Lilikoi, and Pink Island, but you’re free to create your own flavour combinations. This is a kiosk set up in the bustling heart of Waikiki, where you are required to place your order on the tablet set up at the front, and when your order is ready they will call out your name for pick up. Other than that, there’s no real interaction with the people who work here. However, they were quite efficient, and the wait was never too long. I also noticed that they’re usually busier in the evening with longer lines compared to the afternoon.“
“This place is definitely top 3 in the area. The ice is super fine and softer than some overrated places. You can see the pride all around the store. Even with the condensed milk and ice cream, it was not too sweet. It's a little fancier for shaved ice, but everything went well together. The serving size is pretty good and addicting, so if you have a sweet tooth, you may want one just for yourself. There is usually a line out the door, but if you're lucky and come close to opening, you could be one of the first! They also have some cool merch to buy and bring home to remember them by! I definitely did! 10/1, will definitely come back!“
“I love all the ice cream at Asato Family Shop! I haven't gone to their store but I look for them at the annual Okinawa Festival just to order the strawberry for my granddaughter and me, and the green river for my grandson! I love that they offer green river because it reminds me of my childhood!“
“I happened to stop by while taking a walk on the first night I arrived in Waikiki, and it was so delicious that I went again a few days later! At first, I ate #1 strawberry dream.Ingredients such as milk and strawberries are made into ice cream on a cold iron plate and made into rolls. Not too sweet, light, refreshing and delicious. On my second visit, I tried #2 Oreo Team and it was just as delicious. (The additional topping was Oreo crumble for both) Anyway, both my boyfriend and I were very satisfied because they were so delicious! If you like milk-based ice cream, you will be satisfied! It's healthier and more delicious than Haagen-Dazs. I recommend it~~~The owner was also very friendly, which made me feel good. I plan to visit again when I come to Waikiki again!“
“My daughter asked for an ice cream cake for her birthday and Slice by HB Bakery did an amazing job. We didn't know the logistics of picking flavors and it took quite a while, but the person behind the counter was so kind and patient. When we picked up our custom cake days later, we were floored by the presentation. It tasted even better!!! We have gotten Baskin Robbins and Coldstones many times and this cake far exceeds both. For special occasions, well worth the price. We'll be back!“
“Usually people visit Leonard's as a place to order their malasadas, but all of a sudden Pipeline takes a higher spot than Leonard's. Pipeline and Leonard's are fairly similar except Pipeline has more variety (bakery things besides malasadas.) The service was good, there was no order mistakes and actually didn't have fermented tasting yeast flavor like Leonard's did. The environment was OK, but could be better because there wasn't exactly seating. Otherwise overall, Pipeline is good.“
“So this is a little harder to find so I added photos of the surroundings. We almost went into Dave’s across the way on the main road but decided to commit to finding this place and glad we did. There are actually several ways to get here but Google maps will take you right near the other shop which is on the other side of the road. You have to go to the little market place which you’ll see through the parking area there that I believe is part of a hotel. If you come from this way you just walk back there and to the left where the shops dead end, look left and you’ll see the flags saying shave Ice.If you look where the pin actually is, not the walking directions, you will actually see alleyways that lead right to the marketplace and that is where the shop is.We got the passion fruit one that comes with both ice cream and condensed milk. It was really really good for a sweet cold treat on a hot day. It took the 2 of us eating it somewhat quickly to take it down before it melted too quickly, and we ended up feeling satisfied having split the one.Highly recommend, will return.“
“Ao gelato is right next to nana's green tea. When we arrived, there was nobody at the register but somebody from nana's came over to help us. It seems like the shop is run by employees at nana's. There's lots of flavors to choose from, including classic Hawaiian flavors. Other flavors include matcha and black sesame. I ordered a cup of passion fruit gelato. My only complaint is that there's a lot of broken up passion fruit seeds in it, but flavor was good.“
“Stopped by again for the first time in a while--ordered single scoops of the strawberry, and kona coffee gelato flavors. Both were flavorful and creamy, and the scoop servings were generous in size. Plentiful seating outside of the gelato parlor, and convenient location right outside of Nordstrom!“
“I like that this spot is close to the beach if people need to cool off, and they had their own little parking lot if people were just driving in for ice and leaving. We grabbed a large shaved ice with guava, pineapple, and mango syrup. The ice was huge! We shared it amongst 6 of us, so we did finish it. They gave a generous amount of syrup, so I wasn't left with a pile of ice at the end. I also liked that the syrups were very strong in flavor and didn't taste diluted. Definitely a great spot with good prices!“
“First time trying ice cream here since we were buying garlic shrimp from Giovannis. We had the pint of black sesame flavor for $9.50 and it was full of sesame seeds for sure. It was very good but I would like to try more local flavors like taro, mochi, bubble tea with boba, pineapple, papaya????? It would be great if they can bring in more local island flavors. Please make island flavors like taro or pineapple???!!! Thank you“
“My family stayed at the Hawaiian Hilton for a weekend, we walked by this shop a few times, the line was always long. On our last day, there was no line so we decided to grab coffee. As we walked in, the staff seemed busy making coffee for other customers. There were no greetings as we waited. We eventually ordered, chai latte, expresso, and the kids wanted to try the chocolate chip cookies. We received the chai latte and expresso, then waited and waited but no cookie. I finally went back to the counter after 10 minutes and asked for the cookie. The shop got busy so most likely they forgot about the cookie. Nonetheless, we drank the latte and expresso, both were good. My husband liked his expresso, he said it was better than Starbucks. I enjoyed my latte but I will stick with Starbucks. The cookie was amazing though, we decided to get more, plus the rainbow sugar cookie. All were delicious.“
“Mango and pineapple sorbet are both delicious? It's similar to sherbet, but more delicious!Business hours here are until 9:30 PM.Google says it's 10 o'clock, so there are a lot of people who come late. But you can't sell it after business hours.Because the employee is a student, it is dangerous to work late at night. Please encourage people around you to visit on time.I am leaving a review after asking you to tell me the business hours! Please take note and visit during business hours!“
“Wow! AMAZING & very unique gelato cake!!! I have got the Nipponpolitan (matcha, black sesame and red bean) Wow, what a cake! Absolutely delicious, delightful and very special. Especially after recent trip to Japan, it feels so nice to be able to get these flavors. I d say one of the MOST UNIQUE CAKES I HAVE EVER HAD! And one the the best ones! The price is good too (its a pretty big cake). Thank you, La Gelateria!!!! ?? Made our celebration even more special. ✨✨If you are wondering - get their cake!!!! ?“
“Nice to see something original in town. Homemade ice cream flavors are very unique so I don't mind spending a little more for some flavors I won't find anywhere else. The pineapple Thai basil is something special and worth trying ; my gf was won over her first time trying Wing with this flavor. Wing is actually an artisan shop and is one of the good reasons to stop through Chinatown.“
“Boba shop with a multitude of choices, a claw machine, and merch in the back that adds to the fun of being here. The staff is helpful and friendly and the Bobas we got, Mango Pomelos Sago and Midnight Tea, were delicious. I liked the brulee cheese foam on the Midnight Tea.Definitely coming back here.“
“Planning one day ahead for Girls' Day, I remembered the delicious Stawberry cream mochi my friend had given us, and ran down to this new mochi place on University Ave next to Nijiya Market. Loved the free one hour parking in the lot and that I was able to run in and out. It's more of a mochi production room with many hands busily making mochi, which then get packaged and placed onto the counters for sale. I loved that they had cool items that I had never seen or tried before like the sliced strawberries on cream and azuki beans and mochi on a skewer. Both pretty and delicious! I mistakenly thought Ube crumble would have sweet potato in it, but the Ube is in the purple mochi outside and the crumble is chocolate cookie inside. I also grabbed the strawberry cream, a chichidango set with various colors and flavors, their popular peanut butter mochi, and a cute little Girls' Day 3 piece mochi set (with a sakura mochi, the pink, green and white diamond shaped mochi, and a strawberry mochi) in a heart shaped box. I was very happy that they stuck Girls' Day stickers on the boxes to honor the day. Their mochi is soft and thin and the cream is not too sweet. It met all my Girls' Day mochi needs! Service was friendly and patient as I tried to decide what to buy.“
“Our usual stop whenever we go to Waikiki. We haven't tried anything else, just the Shaka Boom and it's yummy. Depending on the staff you get, the shaka may be just right or a little crunchy, but either way, it still tastes good. Staff is always friendly and always let you know how long you have to wait.“
“I had awesome customer service when I went down to order a cake for my sons birthday party. The girl said they didn't have any Minecraft cakes but said if it was easy enough she could pull it off. I showed her a picture and she took care of the rest. This is all my son wanted so it worked out! I just had to pick out the size, type of ice cream we wanted, and let them know when I'd be picking it up.“
“Smoothies are great and have good ingredients. We kept coming back to this place throughout our trip! The frozen banana dessert was okay though, you can tell the bananas they freeze aren't the freshest because there's a little stinky undertone.“
“Convenient location and awesome service. All of the flavors looked fantastic. I asked to get a sample of the pineapple and Kona coffee. Both were amazing! I went with the pineapple and my husband chose the Sandy Beach. He loved it! The sorbettiere suggested I get one scoop of two different flavors. I recommend that! I neglected to follow her advice but when I was about halfway finished with my two scoops, I wish I had listened!!! The ice cream/gelato was very good. I did think it a tiny bit overpriced ($8 for two scoops).“
“Been here multiple times and they never failed me. I love their drinks here so much that I kept coming back. Prices are reasonable and the space is so cute. Almost every corner it's so artistic.Amongst my favorite drinks are mango purple rice yogurt, ube purple rice yogurt, dragon fruit yogurt & their peach yogurt. They have the best purple rice yogurt in my opinion.Customer service is good and they were nice in here. Waiting time for your drink varies. It also depends if they got lots of customer and most of the time they got a long line which form from the outside. The only thing that I don't like coming here is parking. There are many instances that I want to grab drinks here but didn't went through coz parking is so tough, like really challenging. They only got street parking and most of the time it is occupied but other than that their drinks are pretty competitive. Hope they'll open one in a mall or a foodcourt. That would be awesome!Mahalo for reading & happy juandering fellow Yeeps!“
“I grew up in this neighborhood, this is the only place I would purchase shaved ice. Simple small with ice cream and azuki beans with high school colors "red and blue ".Many of my childhood friends still remain perimeters from McCully Bike, Makahiki Way then turn on Waiola st. Memories of yesteryear... The flavors & menu of Waiola Shave Ice are far too many, NOT TO MENTION THE TEXTURE OF FROZEN ICE! Will melt in your mouth!!!!!!!!!“
“Strawberry shortcake is my favorite flavor. I think this is the only ice cream roll shop on island. They're not skimpy on toppings as you can see in the picture. Ice cream isn't super sweet either. Even the other flavors aren't overly sweet either. The girls who make the ice cream are super fast and do a good job of chopping up the strawberries in my ice cream very finely.“
“So glad we found this place and while we have stayed in this area for years we had no idea this place was here literally next store from where we stay. It's located on the 2nd floor of the Ilikai hotel and condos. Walking in very modern and bright location with very friendly staff. My wife had the banana royale with butter pecan and Hawaiian mud pie and I had a double scoop of banana fudge and Hawaiian mud pie. Lots of seating outside to enjoy in their open air space. It was a great find and beats standing in long lines at Lamperts for sure and equally as good. Really enjoyed it and for sure will be back.“
“Great little spot to grab dessert! There are plenty of flavors to choose from and the staff will help you with taste testing the different flavors before choosing your final flavor(s). They have several tables for you to sit to enjoy your dessert. And if there are flavors you really like, they have pints in a freezer you can buy to go! In terms of parking, there is a good sized paid parking lot.“
“We walked from Waikiki Marriott to Diamond Head Park and then climbed it, and walked back. We stopped on the way back! And thank God for them, because it is lunch time and we are hungry. We got the hamburger steak and gravy bento box and the beef stew bento box. Both for $5. They were great. The hamburger steak, I would highly recommend. The beef stew had too fatty of meat for me. But I know a larger amount of people prefer it that way. The most expensive item was the açaí bowl. $14. It's a hulled out 1/2 or a pineapple filled with all kinds of fruit it could feed a family. We got the pineapple whip for $6.50 and then an up charge of $1 for diced pineapples to be added. It was beautiful and delicious. I wish I would have waited until after I finished my meal to order. But that's on me. People wander why we walk with hydration packs on our backs. Well, several reasons. I don't like to carry a water batter. Plus my H2O bladder holds 2 liters. And our pack holds personal items, so we can stop places like this along the way. I prefer to explore new areas on foot. Just miss to much in a car. And the truck is positioned near a public restroom!“
“Located in the space formerly occupied by the longtime ice cream store Bubbie's space, Moena Sweets has become just as popular with neighbors and tourists alike. They may not have 32 flavors, but their selection is solid, and includes gelato options. There's lots of parking at the Koko Marina shopping center, except on the Saturdays when the center hosts a very popular arts and crafts fair. The fair itself is worth attending, and you can stop into the ice cream shop for a quick treat when you're finished shopping!“
“It may sound a bit unusual to seek out a lobster roll at a bakery known for "chocolate" + "vanilla", but that's what I used to do. Cupcakes and macarons don't really catch my attention. But under the radar, petite, and reasonably priced, the lobster roll was a good impulse pickup on the way home. Sadly, owner Jill has moved on from that savory treat. But ... a tea sandwich set of one lobster and two truffle egg salad sandwiches, no crusts, of course. She's got my attention again. The scones are nicely glazed but not overly sweet. Interesting flavors like guava and ube will catch your attention. I find them good the next morning slightly warmed up and consumed with my morning beverage. Bread puddings with local flavors are a treat.Right now, her chewy butter mochi riffs and moist sweet quick breads are what's popular. Gau mochi? Add chocolate? Yum. Ube banana bread. Again, add chocolate chips! Moist and lick-your-finger-clean good.Take-away only, and the savory sandwiches are better if you take them home to let then get closer to room temperature. A local/AAPI/Woman-owned business to support + KeepItKaimuki!“
“TL;DR Very good (but not quite amazing) pizza. La Bomba pizza = ONO Funghi pizza = ONO Cannibale pizza = ONO ----- My family lives right across the street from Manoa Marketplace, so we were very excited to here that Aroma Italia (AI) was coming to town. We had enjoyed the catering of the Monsarrat location a couple times and were looking forward to having a pizza joint nearby. I believe that last time Manoa had dedicated pizza restaurant was when Boston's Pizza was located at the now Serg's. Enough chit chat. Let's get to the review. We've ordered from AI three times now and have enjoyed every meal. Is this the best pizza in the world? Of course not. But it's solid. Our favorite pizzas are the La Bomba, the Funghi , and the Cannibale. We've also had the Pollo Pesto Caprese (decent - I'm just not a huge fan of pesto sauce on my pizza) and the Garlic Pink Scampi (very good flavor, but very little shrimp). We ordered the Caesar Salad, which was alright, but they provided the tiniest portion of dressing; it was not nearly enough to dress all the lettuce provided. Apparently they typically provide two dressing containers, so perhaps they just forgot one of ours. We probably won't order another salad. Hopefully in the future they expand their menu to include pastas.“
“We had the best Birria meal, pastor tacos? and tamales We found out Sandy cooks all the food from scratch thats why it's so delicious!. They were so friendly and happy to help us with our order since we were so many in our group. We definitely will recommend it and will be coming again soon.“
