“Amazing pies! The crust Is amazing as well as the pie filling. I recommend ordering a blueberry/peach pie. My kids loved the personal size pies that she displayed in her showcase/cooler. This is a local business that deserves all the support!”
“Delicious place we stumbled upon while in Bondurant! The food was quickly prepared and delicious. Victoria the manager was personable, and helpful. The torta was made on fresh bread and the birria tacos were not too cheesy. We were both impressed by the menu and savory options.”
“This was our first visit but we will ABSOLUTELY be back. Heard wonderful things and thought we'd be adventurous. We cannot handle spice, so we were a *little* nervous. We were also fully unfamiliar with Indian food other than what we'd heard, so this was a new experience. We ordered at the counter and has several questions about what certain dishes were, how they were prepared, and what to expect from a spice level. The girl who took our order was patient and thorough in her explanation, which we appreciated greatly. She said that everything is prepared at a mild spice level but can be increased, but we opted for mild. We ordered the butter chicken, the tandoori chicken, an order of rice, plain naan, and fountain drinks. It was busy the night we visited (a family of around 20 people took up half of the restaurant), so they said it would be a 30-40 minute wait. We knew the food was cooked to order and is authentic, and it was a busy weekend night, so we had no concern waiting. The food came quickly despite being busy. The butter chicken was lovely. The chicken was prepared perfectly: tender and flavorful with the slightest hint of spice. The sauce was creamy and delicious without having an overwhelmingly tomato flavor. The rice was cooked just right and the naan was lovely. If I had any critique of the food it would be that the naan was possibly rolled or stretched slightly too thin at the middle, leaving it quite crispy. Nearer the edges were soft and pliable. Not a complaint in the slightest, just a personal preference. The tandoori chicken came out last. Several full chicken legs, covered in a deep red sauce. Deep, complex flavors. However, Zaika's definition of "mild" and ours are somewhat different. ? Not a criticism, but the chicken was slightly spicier than I expected and much spicier than my wife expected. The flavor was incredible, but the heat was too much for our underdeveloped palates. Next visit, we'll ask for no spice to make sure we can both enjoy to the fullest extent.Following dinner, the owner and head chef came to the table to chat. We congratulated her on the 24-hour change to their hours and she let us know about the plans for the Zaika Express food truck. She offered to make us something not on the menu if we ask on our next visit, which was incredibly generous. She even gave us a sample container of something else on the menu to take home (something with potatoes and soy beans--I feel terrible not knowing what it's called!). She was so sweet and made us feel like family. It was a wonderful experience for an on-a-whim dinner, and we cannot wait to visit again and try more.”
“The Onion rings and Italian sausage sandwich was fantastic! A Large is made with a full loaf of home made bread. The tenderloin used a half loaf of bread (not a bun) Delicious food!”
“This Subway is clean and the sandwiches are fresh and quite good. My whole family enjoyed their lunch here.Parking: Plenty of parkingWheelchair accessibility: Has a couple of spots for handicapped individuals”
“Great atmosphere and great beer. Not to mention great beertenders! Nicole is super knowledgeable and knows her stuff. I have a feeling I’ll be back very soon…”
“Nice, clean and peaceful. Came on a Saturday night and didn't have a problem with a wait. Appetizers and entrees were hot and clearly made from scratch. Always a good sign when you ask for something specially made and it's not a problem. Also, if you like hot and sour soup, this was the best I've ever had. Seriously. Definitely coming back. Worth the drive.”
“Quality food, basic but well rounded menu, and prompt service.Everything was clean and well maintained. Bathrooms were clean and roomy. I thought the prices on the margaritas were a little high, but otherwise the menu pricing was typical.I'm looking forward to going back!”
“Great food, service is very friendly and professional. Atmosphere is really nice especially with the outdoor area. Great place to watch a game or just hang out.”
“We were very impressed when visiting Nonna's for the first time today! We appreciated the unique and high quality selections. The owner and staff were all enthusiastic, personable, and made us feel like we definitely want to go back!”
“Picture this; in the area for Ragbrai and a bit off-trail. Caught loitering in-front of the brewery around 11:32 on a Wednesday and the door opened to inquire if I needed water or anything (as it was a scorching day).Small conversation later and I was invited in during off-hours to sample brews while everyone inside went about prepping for the day and tomorrow morning's Ragbrai send-off festivities. The hospitality was insane! The brews were amazing! The company was fantastic! 'Iowa Nice' is an understatement.Brightside Aleworks has a fantastic location and amazing brews, definitely give them a try if you are in the area.”
“Had lunch and got the braised chicken and hubby got the tenderloin. It was delicious! Different from anything I’ve ever had and fun to eat! ✨ A must try!! The customer service was phenomenal as well!”
“Dinner with friends while in town visiting. Everything was amazing! I had a small filet with seared scallops and I couldn't stop exclaiming how amazing everything was. Service was a perfect 10! We were full when leaving, but knew we needed to taking some dessert to go! I'll be back next time I'm near! Top 5 restaurants Lifetime, and I eat at good restaurants every weekend of the year”
“Lived in the neighborhood my whole life, this bar and it’s employees are great custodians of the neighborhood. My wife and I love coming to this hidden gem and enjoying the clean friendly environment.”
“I have eaten here too many times to count--at least 80-100 times over the past 15 years! Best cheeseburger and fries (ask them to make the fries extra crispy!!)! Their bacon wrapped tator tots and their humongous tenderloins are something you shouldn't miss either. For that matter, everything is good! Beer is cold! And the place is clean! Don't just drive by! Stop in and have a bite to eat!”
“We ate the buffet and it was authentic Mexican cuisine. Very clean restaurant friendly and attentive staff. Restroom was very clean. Come and enjoy this restaurant. I recommend you try the buffet it has a lot to offer.”
“Our first visit and it was was great. Our dinner was great. You get a great value for the price. Our server was very friendly and good. I would highly recommend Portofino's. Enjoy!Wheelchair accessibility: Easy building excess.”
“We read all the rave reviews, but were a little disappointed in food prep. The flavors of the Pot Pie and Meat Head Benny were pretty good; but the eggs on the Pot Pie were runny (although the puff pastry was amazingly light and flaky), while the poached eggs on the Benedict were overdone (the yolks were closer to hard-boiled egg consistency). Also we found the atmosphere a little cold. Literally. We kept our coats on the whole time because it was pretty chilly in there.”
“We can't say enough great things about The Hills: Alejandro and his Staff do it right each and everytime! 2 of our favorites are The Hills Alambres and Beer Battered Tacos. The service is amazing, atmosphere is cozy and props to the Chef! We are so fortunate to have this restaurant in Pleasant Hill - if you have haven't tried it, please do! :)”
“A friend recommended I try this place and I’m so glad we did! The food was great and the portions were hearty and affordable. I love all the plants and the Hawaiian music playing as well.We both got the BBQ mix combos, but I got extra rice instead of mac salad because that isn’t my vibe. Everything was seasoned well and the meats were juicy and tender! I loved that it came with a slice of fresh grilled pineapple. We also got an order of crab rangoons and potstickers. These were fantastic as well and I was impressed with the amount of crab in the rangoons. For two appetizers, two entrees, and two drinks, it was around $36, which is amazing for the amount of food. We had plenty of leftovers! We will definitely be visiting again.”
“We met a friend for Saturday brunch while in the area visiting family another state. It was the perfect breakfast food and great place to catch up with an old friend!”
“Ashley at the bar was awesome and Lauren the manager came and checked on us to make sure everything was good so all around phenomenal experience! Will definitely be back!”
“We happened to be in Ankeny and decided to try this place out. Absolutely love the fact that I can pick what I want and there is a wide variety of! Clean friendly restaurant and food was very flavorful! Highly recommend!”
“Seated right away. Servers very friendly and helpful with menu questions. Expansive menu with many choices. I would almost say you can't go wrong. But then I only had 1 dish and it was delicious. I'll definitely return.”
“Amazing local diner ran by a great family. The new owners are working so hard to preserve the family vibe that Dean and Brandi served all of these years and are doing a great job. Heidi, her mom and daughters have really hit the ground running. I highly recommend the biscuits and gravy! My breakfast date really enjoyed their breakfast as well. Special shout out to the customers that let me take their photos at the stools ?. I am looking forward to coming back with my husband!”
“Usually get a paleta which are always awesome!! Decided to try a fresas con crema this time.. looks beautiful but not my taste! Will def go back for my regular stuff!”
“Food was very good. I ordered Bun Bo Hue (spicy Vietnamese soup) and Com Suon Bi Cha (pork chop with rice); these two dishes tasted exactly like what I had in Vietnam! I also had Banh Xeo (Saigon crepe) which was crispy, Pho Dac Biet (beef pho) was OK with well seasoned broth. They also have Vietnamese iced coffee. Overall everything tastes great and I highly recommend!”
“Tried Blue Bean for the 1st time today! I never really knew that there was a full service coffee shop in addition to the 'office space' element. Madi helped me and she was super friendly and did a great job offering suggestions and explaining the ins/outs of Blue Bean! The latte I had was excellent and the atmosphere and large amount of 'office rental' options available at BB were super cool and inviting.”
“Tried to come here twice and had no good luck. Third time is the charm! Had an incredible experience with our server Deaja. Would recommend starting with the Brussels Sprouts followed by a burger, either the Hit Corner or the Mushroom Swiss. Don’t forget to upgrade to the Truffle Fries!!”
“Everyone is super friendly, and the coffee is the best. I go out of my way to stop and get it at least twice a week.Kid-friendliness: My kids love the juice options they have.”
