“Picked up order, and the packaging is so nice and warm my food was still super fresh and hot when I got home. The chili oil is so good and the veggies and noodles I got was amazing! My sister got the noodles with braised beef… so tender and lots of flavor! Will be back time and time again!”

“Absolutely delicious! I had the Pineapple Chicken meal, which came with steamed rice, crab Rangoon, macaroni salad & a drink. Hubby had the Chicken Katsu, which came with steamed rice and macaroni salad. His chicken was so crispy and delicious. We also split an order of Spam Musubi. Everything was amazing and both were large portions, we both ended up taking part of our meals home. 10/10 recommend. Great prices and friendly staff!”

“I originally had a short and sweet review here and just could not leave that. Here is how I really felt instead. In the area almost exactly a year, have taking in all the restaurants and this is my first review. Portofino’s- Seated immediately, great atmosphere. Free/fresh garlic bread, honestly I could have eaten just that and brought 4 more home! Fresh, hot, still steaming to our table food! Chicken and Shrimp Milanese-with so much to bring home easily one more meal. Kids baked zeti with meatballs, easily 2 portions for a younger kid, maybe another half portion came home for my 7 year old. Cannoli-AMAZING. Finally 2 fountain drinks. All for only $40.02 Everything was excellent! Some of the best food we have had! ”The world’s best cannoli and meatballs” from a 7 year old little girl. Personal observations and highlights for me if you made it this far! (I have many family members in the restaurant business even owning high end restaurants in Denver). Although they were assigned specific tables, I have never been to a restaurant where every server acknowledges every table and adresses a need as they walk by. Servers seating new guest, filling drinks of other tables, clearing other tables, the list goes on and on! All working together, I did not see many tasks being completed alone. I didn’t not get a drink from the bar but I noticed the bar tender did not just fill the order and let it sit for the server. He personally took the drinks to the table if he noticed the server was busy(also I assume there may have been servers under 21 honestly). The service I witnessed tonight really showed a family, locally owned business with great leadership. Clearly employees who are well cared for and love their job. Loved that it was packed but I did not hear the table to either side of me very much. My daughter and I had a conversation and played a game while waiting for food just fine. Enjoyed that there were babies to elderly all seated in the same area around the restaurant. Let’s be honest most places seat all the families together away from couples, ect. This did not appear to be the case here. Big groups to a single person all treated with the same excellent service. Definitely family friendly or a place for a nice date night! We will be back A LOT! Pizza is next! That was the plan for tonight but that quickly changed when we looked at the menu. Looking forward to the many years this family restaurant will be feeding my family and many others! A true dining experience!”

“Ordered delivery tonight. Called the store because last time I ordered my pancakes were missing syrup. Just wanted to ask them to make sure they remembered it. Talked to Rob and asked him to double check for it before it went out. Mentioned to him I was moving and all my stuff was packed so I could t get to my own syrup. When my order arrived not only did it have 2 containers of syrup there was a bakery bag on top of it with a note “The moving process is always better with a chocolate chip cookie! Hope all goes as planned for you! P.S. I remembered the syrup!” In the bag we’re 2 cookies! Such a kind gesture in a time when people working in service industries are treated so poorly by many customers. Was extraordinarily kind of him to take some time out of his day to brighten mine! Sad I am moving out of Ankeny because this is the type of person I want to take care of me when I go out or order in. Thank you Rob for making my evening!”

“I was struggling to find a place for breakfast and found Sorriso and was very impressed. I'm on a protein only diet and they were very accommodating to my request. The service here is excellent and couldn't ask for more. This is where the locals eat if you want amazing service and great food I'd highly recommend you stop in.”

“A wonderful experience until today. I gifted 2 months of a membership to my mom and had purchased a $25 gift card on 11/3/23 thinking it would make a good Christmast gift. After attending a couple of events, she wanted to use the gift card now knowing what type of wine she wanted, however; the card had expired. Even though "their system" wouldn't accept it, it's unfortunate they would not honor it or provide a new one. We've spent hundreds of dollars here and this was our go-to spot. We understand why these systems are in place, but will be looking for a company that's willing to "bend the rules" to help and support their regular customers who have supported them.”

I don't mind tipping if the Service is great.”

“Would absolutely recommend Uptown Dairy. Growing up near the WI border my family enjoyed Cedar Crest ice cream as a special treat and I’m happy to see it here in Iowa! Hands down some of the best small batch ice cream I’ve ever had and plenty of variety to choose from. I love that Uptown Dairy is right by the High Trestle Trail Ankeny trailhead and makes for a perfect treat after a long ride. If you love coffee and haven’t tried the affogato I would definitely give this Italian coffee/ice cream desert a shot! You can really tell the owner puts a tremendous amount of pride and care into Uptown Dairy”

One neg was the shumai, they were small and didn't really taste of shrimp. The staff was very friendly--even came outside and waited to find my boyfriend that left his card.”

Madi helped me and she was super friendly and did a great job offering suggestions and explaining the ins/outs of Blue Bean! The latte I had was excellent and the atmosphere and large amount of 'office rental' options available at BB were super cool and inviting.”

“I'd honestly say the fried chicken at pizza ranch is their best item, the pizzas are really tasty and have a great selection when dining in for the buffet option, but that fried chicken is absolutely divine. Every time I'm in Ankeny from the UK I always make sure I get some of that fried chicken. All in all a good atmosphere, plenty for the kids to do while you have your fill of the buffet. The cactus bread is also a must try item ? the selection of buffet items is always nice. With items ranging from mashed potatoes, stuffing and gravy to a more traditional salad bar and you're never short of pizza as they refill the buffet trolley every time it gets anywhere near low. Also you have to love a restaurant that has a robot called Buster who wanders around for you to deposit your dishes. Would definitely recommend Pizza Ranch to anyone who hasn't tried them.Parking: Plenty of parking. Never had a single instance of not being able to park.Kid-friendliness: Lots of things to do for the kids here, an arcade centre with plenty of toys that can be won should help keep your little ones entertained while you fill up on all that chicken and pizza ?”

The cheese curds are sublime, the malt shakes are divine, and those butter burgers will literally rock your world. The only complaint I will ever have with Culver's, is that there aren't any in the UK. This will always be a must whenever I'm in Ankeny visiting from the UK. If you haven't tried the spiritual awakening that it the Culver's butter burger, then looooord you don't know what you're missing. Cannot recommend highly enough.”

I changed and edited my review, as the owner, Aaron, reached out and made things right with us. He was apologetic for their mistake, which was a communication error between Urbandale and Ankeny store, that caused an unknown delay with delivering my meals. I appreciate him reaching out and trying to make his customers happy and mending mistakes on their end.Original: I ordered meals for the week on Monday to be delivered on Wednesday from 4-8 pm.. I called at 8:10pm because my meals weren’t delivered. The lady on the phone looked into it and said “oh yeah I see everything is there online/submitted like you said and looks like the order was printed off on paper but wasn’t grabbed to be delivered or made, so do you want to cancel or have it delivered tomorrow.” And I responded and questioned why that happened and said that they didn’t seem to have their business take any accountability and the lady on the phone was 0% apologetic. I even said well it seems like you don’t really care too much about this order being messed up and forgotten about.. and she responded in a snarky tone “ok? Do you want to cancel the order then?”I had an expectation of meals for this evening and for lunch for my family and I, and it fell through. I hope they know that it was more of an inconvenience to me than anything and the lady taking phone calls is not sympathetic or apologetic at all.Won’t be ordering from them again. We got street corn, mango enchalidito, cotton candy swirl and super hero; all of our treats were amazing! The food is excellent and the servers are great. They all know my girl is trying to learn Spanish and will exclusively speak to her in Spanish. We bring all our friends and family here. If you're looking for some good Mexican food this place is a no-brainer.”

“I used to be a manager here a few years ago. Yes sometimes they are slow but it gets really busy really fast. They do try their best always have. I always give them slack. Pretty much 90% of the time my food is correct and warm. I have been coming to this location for 5 years. I don’t plan on stopping. And for everyone who is saying the one cashier is rude or not comprehending what you’re saying, he started working there when I was a manager. He does have autism and cannot help it. I got the chocolate lasagna cake to go but I ate it when I got home. It's so damn good! Highly recommend it. Service was on point. I left a $10.00 tip for a $33.00 bill. I don't mind tipping if the Service is great.”

The cheese curds are sublime, the malt shakes are divine, and those butter burgers will literally rock your world. The only complaint I will ever have with Culver's, is that there aren't any in the UK. This will always be a must whenever I'm in Ankeny visiting from the UK. If you haven't tried the spiritual awakening that it the Culver's butter burger, then looooord you don't know what you're missing. Cannot recommend highly enough.”

“The food is amazing, the atmosphere is awesome, and the only real issue is cross-contamination in the sauces and when being cooked. I don't mind a little spicy, but when my sauce and another person's sauce merge together and it gets left like that to cook if theirs is too spicy it bothers me and I'm sure that the other person might not like my sauce mix either. All in all, it's still an epic place to eat.”

“This Chipotle location is easily accessible from the interstate, a lone building in a busy Target parking lot. We had great timing as we entered at lunch on a Wednesday—no line ahead of us, but the crowd came soon after. I had a burrito bowl with the limited edition carne asada, while my husband had a burrito. He had an app reward that gifted us free chips and salsa. The food was great, nice and fresh. The bathroom was kept clean and operational, too. I’d visit here again on a road trip.”

“The bartender was awesome the service and servers were hilarious. Drinks were perfect and not too heavy. The problem was the rude and unprofessional shift manager for the night…. Talking about how she should be making drinks for herself and how much she hates the bar and how she can’t find anyone to do her bidding. She didn’t know where anything was and ordered people around like she knew more than them and clearly she didn’t. She openly talked about her staff as all being “victims”. Then she comes out acting out finger guns to herself. A wellness check seems appropriate for this “manager”. Tamara treat your staff better and maybe ask them what you can do to assist.”

“Came across this place out of sheer chance. The breakfast club is an 80s theme diner located in ankeny. Boy was I glad I did I got the eggs Benedict and my husband got the blueberry cream pancakes. Both were absolutely phenomenal. Lots of blueberries on and in the pancakes, and the eggs were poached perfectly on my Eggs Benedict! Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back.Parking: Come early. Lot fills up fast.”
