“Me and my daughter went here this weekend, and overall it was great! This is my 11 year old daughter’s review. The inside was super cool, and my daughter really enjoyed the gingerbread house’s. Also, the inside swings as a chairs were a very smart idea. The food was pretty good as well. My daughter and I normally go to Starbucks to get cake pops, and the ones we got here were so much better! The taste was better, it was slightly cheaper, and way bigger than Starbucks. The only problem I had with it is it crumbled apart really easily. The edible cookie dough was amazing, despite the small amount they gave you. It was still pretty decent though. The variety of cupcakes they have is amazing too. And we also got the “Muddy Buddy” cupcake, 8/10! Amazing! The service was great as well. “I LOVE everything about this business! All of the original goodies are the exact same as the previous owner make, down to the ingredients and brands, but the new owner came in and updated the building, along with adding some new and exciting goodies. Everything is so clean and updated now, with a wider selection of goodies that the new owner introduced in addition to the old classics. New treats are introduced almost weekly and they are all so tasty! Kudos to the new owner for keeping the same old classics we all love and breathing new life into it at the same time!“

“7am on Saturday, this parking lot is packed with people sneaking a donut before a ride home to share the rest with family. Staff was welcoming and kind. I asked for a variety of 6 donuts and the employee packaged up 2 raised, 2 cake, and 2 cronuts. The sitting area has a few tables and chairs, nothing fancy. Price is appropriate. “I am so glad we stopped by Main Street cafe and bakery for breakfast. I initially was afraid I would get lost inside the building, as it is on the third floor, but there were marked signs to guide us. There is also a front desk person that could help.Lots of options for food and drink, eating in or taking out. The breakfast sandwiches were really good and made to order. “Ordered delivery tonight. Called the store because last time I ordered my pancakes were missing syrup. Just wanted to ask them to make sure they remembered it. Talked to Rob and asked him to double check for it before it went out. Mentioned to him I was moving and all my stuff was packed so I could t get to my own syrup. When my order arrived not only did it have 2 containers of syrup there was a bakery bag on top of it with a note “The moving process is always better with a chocolate chip cookie! Hope all goes as planned for you! P.S. I remembered the syrup!” In the bag we’re 2 cookies! “We go out of our way to visit / order from the Beaverdale Fareway Meat Market! This is one of few places in the Des Moines Metro where you can find Boar's Head Lunchmeat (freshly cut). It lasts much longer than other grocer's lunchmeat! The pick-up service is amazing every time. Staff is all super friendly and helpful. Fruits / Veggies never disappoint, and usually less than Hy-Vee. Love this place. We will continue to frequent and recommend to others!“
“Quick breakfast. There was a line at the door when they opened at 8 am. We were all greeted and seated in a friendly and fast manner. 1 waitress efficiently managed everything and got drinks and orders within minutes. I was very impressed. I ordered a skillet and pancakes. The cakes were delicious but the skillet was on the greasy side. It was fresh, just too oily for my tastes. I ate about half of it. The coffee was hot and black, not my favorite flavor but it worked.“

They were so good my mom came back a week or so later to get some for a birthday party. 10/10 the cake flavors were SO good! And getting several meant you could mix slices of each. “I am fairly new to the Des Moines area, but what I do enjoy is the small town charm in a big city, which includes finding a local bakery to get fresh bread. I found this charming bakery named Big Sky Bread near my home and finally found what I've been searching for! The parking lot is to the left of the bakery, and when you enter, there are a few racks of bread loaves, homemade granola, local jam/honey, and pastries. I tried the Italian loaf, German rye sliced bread, their very own pop tarts, and cinnamon rolls with cream cheese frosting. I forgot to take a picture, but they were all very beautifully made. The owner/cashier Terry was kind and let me know they also have a booth in the Downtown Farmer's Market in May. I am excited to return again for a restock in the near future. “The gentleman working was awesome! My 4yr old wanted to order her own food which (of course) meant my 2 year old needed to order his own as well and he was great about it. Very patient and directed all questions to the appropriate party while checking (covertly) for approval before fulfilling any part. When she saw the letters on the lid my daughter asked if that was her name and he said "oops how could i have forgot the most important part?" And she happily provided it so it could say her name. Another customer walked up in the middle of all of this and i told him he was welcome to help them first but he just smiled and shook his head and continued the conversation with my kids (another associate did come help the other person). I know sometimes its a pain when kids start exerting their independence and it can be very frustrating at times but to those that take the time to encourage it and assist with development I say thank you. The sense of accomplishment it gave them to do something as simple as ordering their own food is still fondly remembered over a week later (forever in their lifetime) lol“
