“Fantastic breakfast/diner food, though there may be a bit of a line. Baked goods for takeaway go fast. Donut holes come with every meal and all breads are baked in-house.Parking: Street parking is just as ridiculous as everywhere in downtown Chicago. Rideshare is the more convenient option.“
“This place is so nice and comforting, the workers are so sweet and make sure every thing is going good and that you’re satisfied. The atmosphere is impeccable. And one of the baristas was so sweet and catering to us, she was wearing a head scarf didn’t get her name. We will be going back just because of her and the servers! Amazing staff.“
“Always a great experience at Dalia’s . Staff is always graceful and attentive. We have been here several times and never have been disappointed with our meal or service.Parking: Dalias is in a little shopping mall area. There’s always parking.Kid-friendliness: The staff is always so patient and kind with the kids. They have coloring books, crayons and stickers for the kids.“
“Nothing but amazing things to say about this place! From the atmosphere, servers, food and Mary herself! You feel at home there. Mary knows you, the staff is beyond amazing. Some of the sweetest servers out there! Mary has theme days and in the summer it’s not uncommon for her to have DJ’s outside! Go check it out!“
“I really like this restaurant, good quality, good service, good management ?... The pancakes are delicious ? it's a special recipe from the owner's father and in general all the food is very good, the coffee ☕️ not to mention. God bless you ? and may you continue to prosper.Parking: They have their own parking lot, but in case it fills up, there is also enough space on the street paying without problem.Kid-friendliness: The place is very cozy.“
“First time going here and it was such a welcoming experience! The wait wasn't that long and the food is made fresh! Great prices and amazing tasting food! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! we got a double cheeseburger and patty melt. THANK YOU TO THE COOK! ❣“
“Wish it hadn’t taken me so long to try Ahuevo! Really excellent food (we had the tots, a breakfast burrito, and an egg/sausage sandwich), and great service (the owner slipped us some cookies to try too!). Definitely gonna keep my eye on this place when they move to their own space! Will miss them being so close by but always love to support smaller businesses led by quality people.“
“My server demi was very attentive and got everything right in my very detail difficult order I always have crazy requests and she meet every need of mine. She was quick with getting us drinks and made us feel like we were the only ones in the in the restaurant even tho it was very busy and packed. She definitely deserves all the stars and the food is excellent there I got the biscuits and gravy and ciabatta sunrise sandwich they were both so good and full of flavor! I just want to say she made the experience worth it to come back again and again. I request her every time.“
“We went to breakfast with family. We called ahead, and they actually saved a table for 8. So we just walked in. The place was full to capacity!! The food was out of this world. You must try it!! I'm a Eggs Benedict guy and I thought Egg Harbour had the Best but this place had Eggs Benedict Florentine which was astounding hahaha. This location was at la Grange il.“
“My mother and I had a fabulous breakfast here this past weekend. The service was very welcoming and friendly, the coffee superb, and the food excellent. It's a very clean and inviting space and I know I'll definitely be back to visit again soon. Highly recommend!“
“I’ve been coming here since I was a kid (I’m 24 now) , this is easily my favorite breakfast spot ever . The servers are so sweet & kind, the owners are great people & it’s family owned . The food tastes like it was made by my gma, everything tastes so good & since I’ve been a repeat customer since birth ? I’ve tried pretty much everything on the menu already, anything you get is 10/10 . The cream of chicken & rice soup is a must try, any time I’m sick that’s my go to . It’s my family’s favorite soup . I’d like to think that’s their signature soup, anyone I know that has tried it says it’s their favorite thing on the menu .. me included . The skirt steak is absolutely amazing & has so much flavor . The rolls are so buttery, soft & fresh . Next time you’re in the area & can’t decide where you wanna eat, come here you will not be disappointed at all ? the food is amazing, the servers are amazing & you see nothing but smiles the whole time you’re there !!“
“Always on the lookout for a good diner for breakfast. Ran across this one and had to try it. Excellent diner atmosphere with a good menu. As it was around St Patrick's day, I had to try the corned beef and cabbage skillet. Great choice. Food was delicious. Large portion that overwhelmed me. Felt bad that I wasn't able to finish. Servers were very pleasant and attentive.“
“The food is very good but the service is mediocre. The young servers can be a little more friendly and also they should honor the prices that are on the menu in front of you and if they've changed, then they should go ahead and change it on the menu.“
“The food was really really delicious. A little under seasoned for my taste. Idk. The service was quick and easy which I prefer. The seats could be spaced out a little more for my liking bit overall we had a good time. The coffee was the best item we ordered.“
“Out and about doing errands and we came upon this little gem named Bacon & Jam. 3335 W. 111th street Chicago. There was a rush of activity at the front door, two individuals with pajamas and slippers on, made me feel immediately like "There must be something about this place" people literally gett straight out of bed to come dine here, oh we must be in for a treat!!! And we were!!!!! Make sure your appetite is on 10, because the portions are sinful!!!! The food was good , we both had Omelettes with generous amounts of meat in them. I didn't see Vegan friendly options though. The service was fantastic , the pricing a little high, but on par with other places which these days run on the high end for a meal. That little container of bacon jam...Honey thats a little mastermind touch of flavor you can add on anything!!!! Yum to the 10th power of DELICIOUS!!!! A small place, with big warm appeal !!!! Stop, eat, And keep it moving you've got 90 mins. Before you get the Boot!!! Honestly you're served so quickly, you'll be done in less than an hour and filled to the brim!!!!“
“We've been going to Lumes for years, it's our favorite breakfast restaurant. No matter if it was just us or a get together of family and friends we always get wonderful service and great food. Once in a while we get it to go and the food is just as good and ready when we get there to pick it up. Thank you to everyone at Lumes for doing such a wonderful job!Kid-friendliness: We take our 2 year old granddaughter there all the time. She loves all the different kinds of pancakes ?Wheelchair accessibility: We take mom on Saturday or Sundays to get her our a little bit. She walks with a rollator and the staff is always patient and caring with.“
“Stopped in after an early appointment and was happy I did. The service and atmosphere were excellent. I was greeted cheerfully upon entering and immediately seated. I ordered coffee followed by a skillet that I customized a bit. It came out exactly as ordered. The seasoning was a bit lacking for my taste buds but nothing a little salt and pepper didn't address. The portions were substantial and I left happy and full with leftovers.“
“Brookfield Breakfast was recommended to us by a friend and let me just say that the wrap I had was phenomenal! I ordered the chicken Cesar wrap with sweet potato fries and my husband ordered the chilaquiles. Everything was so fresh and perfectly portioned. We will definitely be coming back!“
“Eppel's was packed on Sunday afternoon! The ladies working were gracious and helpful, especially the older auntie with the glasses working up front. I ended up going to collect an order that the Uber courier failed to pick up after 2 hours. They made me fresh grits for the order when I arrived. Everything tasted delicious and home-cooked. Pancakes were fluffy but not too thick, sausage cooked to perfection, grits creamy but still had some "grit" to them, and the crispy salmon cake was scrumptious. I will be back to the classic gem on Roosevelt.“
“I'm from georgia and had a late night with friends. It's tradition to hit a waffle house after a night. Well to all my southern folks this is as close to waffle house your'e gonna get. From the atmosphere, resturant layout, and buildings, it is a nice peice of home away from home. Chunky is a fantastic server and showed us a tremenous amount a care and attentiveness. She brought a genuine aura to our night thats rare in a life filtered by facades. Food was fantastic and differentiates itself from waffle house which made it in to its own experience. I suggest everyone give it a try!“
“Food was great, had an egg and cheese crossaint, some spinach, avocado, mushroom, and cheese crepes, the house veggie burger, and crispy eggplant with polenta and goat cheese. The crepe came with only the cheese on the inside and other ingredients on top, and was more of a crispy rather than soft or spongy texture, so somewhat different than I had pictured but they were good. I'd order all of it again! Service was good and attentive. Food was a little slow to come out at times given that the place was pretty empty, but I wasn't in a hurry and was taking my own time, so I didn't mind that. Will definitely return!“
“I have been going to this restaurant for over 10 years. It's a very small personable place where you feel so welcome every time you walk in. The women who run the place have known my son since he was 4 years old, and still remembers him every time we come in. The food is always great . I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who has family in town that wants to show them a perfect little restaurant that has a lot to offer. They have breakfast dishes and also lunch dishes. They are open till 2pm . Check it out . You won't be disappointed.“
“Azul 18, not to be confused with Azul Mariscos is a great brunch spot in the Pilsen area. I visited on a Sunday morning, and there was plenty of street parking available. The restaurant has about 30 tables, but some of the table spacing is pretty tight, so if you have big hips like me, you'll be comfy seating on the bench seats, but squeeze your body in between the tables and be careful not to hit the patron sitting next to you!The menu has some classic items like waffles and pancakes, but their Mexican entrees are tasteful. Everything was good and I would definitely go back! We tried the following:Orange Strawberry Kiwi JuiceMexican Beignets with Raspberry Jam and NutellaMexican Omelette with Refried BeansShort Stack of PancakesChilaquiles with Braised Short Ribs, Eggs, Guacamole, Sour Cream, Pico de Gallo, Queso and Hominy“
“Servers were very welcoming and checked in periodically during my visit. I ordered the 2+2+2+2, with the stuffed French toast. The texture of the eggs were creamy, cooked just right. Sausage and bacon were tasty. The stuffed frent toast was delicious and needed no syrup. Presentation of the food was perfect. I'll be back again for sure!“
“Second day in Chicago and surrounding areas and I found this wonderful cafe and the service my family and I received was phenomenal and high praises to the kitchen and staff as a whole was knowledgeable and the food was just how a morning should start.“
“The staff greeted my group with a smile. Efficient service. Nice food portions. The food is reasonably priced. My only disappointment was the coffee. I wanted a nice cup of hot, mild roasted coffee. Since the restaurant serves breakfast & lunch, I hoped the coffee would be great. I like black, hot, mild roasted coffee. I was disappointed with my coffee. It was served hot but it was weak(my only disappointment).“
“Mr. B and staff family are amazing and know the regulars. Food is GREAT quality and quantity worth the price. Through all the increases in life the prices stayed about the same. Joe's, is much needed in the community. Sometimes you have to wait because it's BUSY but, it worth the wait. You can call in and place your order. Remember to drop something in the tip jug, they work HARD from 7a-2p.Parking: There is free street parking around the restaurant and across the street that doesn't belong to Joe's but people often park there.Kid-friendliness: Kids are more than welcome and there regularly.Wheelchair accessibility: There are tables where you can remove the chairs and eat with a wheelchair. They will definitely accommodate you.“
“SO GOOOODDDDD first when we went in their service was so good they got us to our table fast and it was my brother's birthday and they singed happy birthday to him to best place I have gone in a while I definitely recommend going here ❤️“
“Been coming here for a while, food is always fresh and good!I always ask for Erika because she’s always on point with the orders from what I have been receiving.I’ve also had Dishawn and he’s amazing as well!It does get busy in there during lunch hours but you won’t be disappointed in the end!“
“Yet another fantastic meal! We savored a Denver omelet and a skinny (vegetarian) omelet. The portions were generous, and the service was exceptional. The atmosphere is casual yet clean. I highly recommend it for fellow breakfast enthusiasts. If you happen to be in the area, don't miss out—stop by today and enjoy!“
“I know the owner really nice person but long while back had a rude encounter with a waitress. I was accompanying a friend to eat. Even though I already ate I decided to order off the kids menu so I do not go there just to be rude and order nothing.. Then the waitress mentioned that I do not look like someone that should order off the kids menu... I got up and walked it's been 7 years I have not gone... hope it is a lesson to that waitress do not insult because you will miss out on buisness and a good tip... be kind to everyone it goes a loongg way.“
“First visit, will not be our last. Big parking lot, cute decor and very clean, we were immediately greeted and felt very welcomed. The food was fast, delicious and generous. The homemade complimentary soup was excellent and I would go back just for that. It seemed clear to me they are taking a lot of pride in this place and that always makes me want to support a business. We will definitely be returning.“
“The pancakes are amazing! Never had such great tasting food! The hash browns and bacon were on point. I ordered crispy and they came out to perfection not burnt or soggy. The strawberries were so fresh and the coffee also had great taste no after taste or old taste. The servers were super friendly and polite. Super fast service. Over all amazing totally recommend it! The prices are very reasonable and the proportions are very well calculated.Parking: Right in front“
“Las Brothers has been a staple for decades. They have an extensive menu sure to satisfy any craving. I've been visiting Les Brothers for the last three decades, and I can honestly say I don't think I have had a bad meal. Highly recommended.“
“Divey breakfast/lunch diner with very good service. One cook and one waitress on a Tuesday lunch hour juggling us at the counter plus a number of booths. Our waitress accessible to us (we sat in front of her station) while she still got out to each of the tables for coffee refills.First visit - got the pork chop sandwich. Generous size pork chop, no bone, a little drier and less caramelization than I preferred but still above average. Crinkle cut fries were $1.50 on top of the $6.50 sandwich. TV set to NBC (Dateline was on) but not loud. Cash only, ATM available. Tap water available so you're not compelled to pay for a drink if you prefer not to. (Also a hint to me that things are hopefully clean enough for washed cups and clean water.)Clientele that day was a mix of Black women and men, owner/staff appear Mexican, and my co-worker and I are neither but we all enjoyed a workday lunch.Reserving a star until another visit for breakfast and will snag photos of new menu next time. Prices are up from the menu photos here. (ex: pork chop sandwich $4.50 up now to $6.50)“
“I’m from a smaller town and anytime I go to Chicago I stop here for pancakes. The pancakes are absolutely perfect. They are light, they are moist and the perfect size so I’m not over doing it. Definitely have the pancakes, eggs, bacon or corned beef hash.“
“I work at Lyons Township High School right across the street! I treated my coworker for her birthday. We ordered the Deluxe Skillet and a BLT Wrap, order was ready at the specified time.., friendly greeting when I arrived. Everything was really good, my BLT wrap was loaded with bacon! It came with a soup and a side I chooses frost fruit.“
“The pancakes at Hearty Cafe Pancake House are a pancake lover's dream come true! Nestled in the heart of one of Chicago's neighborhood, I recently had the pleasure of dining here and I must say, it was a truly delightful experience from start to finish. The Hearty Cafe Pancake House is a cozy and charming gem that serves up scrumptious pancakes I've ever tasted and a must-try Tuna Melt. First and foremost, the pancakes are exceptional. They are cooked to perfection, with a light and airy texture that melts in your mouth. The batter is made with high-quality ingredients, and you can taste the difference in every bite. The menu offers a variety of options, from classic buttermilk pancakes to creative flavors like cheesecake and Oreo, which are sure to tantalize your taste buds. The portion sizes are generous, and the prices are reasonable, making it a great value for the quality of food you receive. In addition to their pancakes, Hearty Cafe also offers a range of other breakfast and brunch options. From omelettes to French toast, there's something for everyone. But what really caught my attention was the Tuna Melt. This dish is a true standout on the menu. Made with fresh tuna, melted cheddar cheese, and grilled onions, all sandwiched between two slices of perfectly toasted bread, the Tuna Melt is a flavor explosion in every bite. The tuna is perfectly seasoned, and the melted cheese adds a gooey richness that complements the savory flavors. It's a unique and delicious twist on a classic sandwich that is not to be missed. The atmosphere at Hearty Cafe is warm and inviting, with rustic decor and friendly service. Whether you're dining with friends, family, or flying solo, Hearty Cafe offers a welcoming atmosphere, with Friendly and attentive staff, making you feel right at home. The restaurant creates a pleasant dining experience. If you're craving delicious pancakes that are fluffy, flavorful, and satisfying, then Hearty Cafe Pancake House in the Beverly neighborhood is a must-visit spot, for any breakfast or brunch lover. I highly recommend visiting this hidden gem that won't disappoint!“
“This location This breakfast location has been very consistent with service and food quality. Stephanie our waitress this weekend, was extremely nice and flexible with my half café coffee choice ?. My family and I really appreciate the good service and good food.“
“I did not feel like cooking breakfast this morning so I decided to order a breakfast burrito from here and it was delicious! The burrito was full of all the healthy good stuff. Scrambled eggs, red peppers, mixed greens, avocado and black beans all wrapped in a flour tortilla. The burrito came with a side of home fries (potatoes). You can get the salsas, the green one and orange one with a little kick and they both complement the burrito and add such flavor. I truly enjoyed it. It was the perfect size and quite filling, especially adding the side of potatoes. I've passed this bakery so many times and you notice it because it's so colorful and put you in the mind of an ice cream shop because the outside is so colorful. I want to try other items on the menu because their breakfast burrito was really good.“
“I've been eating here for 18 years. Never disappointed. The interior has changed with slots. Food is always good and good service. Now they charge for everything. Prices have gone up. But I still come out of my way to come and eat here. They've got the best cornbeef hash in the area. Belgium waffle is firm and soft. Nice size “
“Food was perfectly portioned...and good. Service was decent. It was busy and crowded so no complaints. The place is tight with tables pretty much in every space that a table could be. I would go back. Reasonable, friendly, good food and perfect portions.“
“Placed an order for Thanksgiving wanted the chocolate chip cheese cake ended up with plain pancakes for dessert. Called the lady said they were out of cheese cake. The more I questioned her .she then said I could come pick up the chocolate chip cheese cake. I explained I had no transportation and then she said yes again they had the cheese cake but I had to pick it up. So I said thanks no transportation so good bye.“
“I wanted the Cheeseburger with some Spicy fries. I watched him grill it and flip it a few feet away from me. The sizzle crackled and popped to prepare me for that first bite. I smashed the bread a little bit to cut my burger in half properly. The juices escaped the sides and left it's mark on my plate. Some of the fries couldn't escape it's reach.I forgot to take a picture for you, but I promise you (this place makes burgers better than anyone I could think of). When you go, go soon, and please take a picture of your burger for me yes? Oh, and tip the waitress (no less than $10.00).“
“Both their breakfast and lunch menus were delicious. My husband and I both ordered skillets and another day came back for lunch and has their burgers and fries. Both meals were delicious! When it was busy in the morning, the wait at the door moved quickly, and the servers were quick, funny and pleasant. Also, if you're staying at a hotel nearby, it's quite convenient and local to the park. Would highly recommend coming here to grab a bite!“
“We were very surprised by this little hidden gem. The food was delicious, the service was excellent and just a great clean atmosphere. First time here and we definitely will be back when in the area.Parking: There isn’t street parking in front of restaurant but there is a big parking garage within walking distance.“
“Came here for breakfast on a Saturday morning. It was busy, but there was no wait for 2 people. It's a cozier version of an IHOP with a full bar. Service was good and everything came out quick. Pancakes, sausage, and eggs were all good. I also got regular and chocolate cannolis. They weren't my favorite, a little dry and flavorless 2/5 stars for the cannoli, but 4/5 for the breakfast. It is a bit pricey compared to a chain but I like that it's in the neighborhood.“
“Met with my shooting group for breakfast before the range... The place looks great. Did a rehab since I been there..opened it up. Cheese grits and sausage.....great!! Prices are high but aren't they everywhere. Cone here get stone decent food!!!“
“I will definitely be back. The food was delicious and the service was amazing. I went on a Thursday morning so there was no wait...super chill. The wait staff came and checked on us often, and the owner even chatted it up with us for a while. Great team of people. The hangover sauce for the wings is top notch. We also enjoyed the French toast, grits, house potatoes, and peach coffee.“
“This place is amazing. We came here for my daughter’s birthday and one they went all out for her. I highly recommend this place. Michelle was our server and she was super sweet. This place is great. And we visited from Minnesota which made it extra special they all went out of there way. Thank you.“
