I dig sitting at the old bar with only a few people as the bar keeps give excellent recs and tastes of the drafts, and their Belgians are the best selection on the city. Weather permitting the back patio is great! I have a hard time not getting the mussels and frites.“

“This hidden gem is exactly that. Under Moon Palace is my new favorite speakeasy. With a wide array of cocktails of all your favorite Liquors and a knowledgeable staff to help guide your decisions, Nine Bar is a perfect spot to enjoy with friends or a date night. The prices are very reasonable with $13-15 per drink but my favorite is Malort shots for $6. The dim lighting and music you can vibe to are a perfect storm for drink any dy of the week. Highly recommend... Or don't go and I can enjoy all to myself! ?“

“I’ve been here many times and have always had good food and good service. The menu changes based on the seasons though a few options are always on the menu. I’ve never had a bad meal here. The duck is very good, but they have excellent fish and vegetarian options. Once, service was slow, and they comped us a pasta they brought to us while we waited for what we had ordered and the dessert we ordered at the end. Which brings me to the other positive of Duck Inn and that’s the service. I’ve never had bad service here. The Duck Inn is a special place and reflects well on the Chicago food scene.“

“This was our first time in as we just moved to the neighborhood and we loved it! We had come from dinner but decided we wanted some snacks. We had the fried pickles, pretzels, & ice cream with churros-- I was surprised but oh so happy they had some kind of dessert. The bartender was a super nice guy-- very friendly. He checked on us often and never left us waiting for anything. The interior was really cute and about what you expect for a corner/ neighborhood bar. We will for sure be back-- so glad we gave it a try!“

“My husband and I went to Matisse for Restaurant Week. The specialty cocktails and food are very good, with generous portions of food. The service is the best I have experienced in a long time, with the pacing of the food coming out being just right. Water always quickly refilled, the minute you look around like you need something, your server (or other staffer) is asking how they can help. The atmosphere is definitely loud. It is a small space and the tables are close, but it has a wonderful vibe and we spoke to the folks at our neighboring tables at bit. Highly recommend!“

“Visited here around 1:00 in the afternoon with 2 other people and the food was pretty good, but the service was not so great. They should have a sign saying to seat yourself because no one was available to direct us and another patron told us to seat ourself. Although the server was nice, she was pretty much absent the entire time. We had ask for the table to be wiped twice which took a while and after receiving our appetizers, we had to wait for her to come back again to ask for silverware. We had to ask another server to get our waitress because she wasn't around. After asking for our bill, it took her a while to come back for the payment and then we had to question her as to why a gratuity charge was on our bill when it shouldn't have been added until after 4pm for a party of 6 or more (only 3 of us present).“

“My first visit there. Saw promo on TV. However, I was not aware that there was a cover charge. I assume coverage for the live entertainment. I enjoyed both the Irish band music and the Trinity Children Dancers. The food was right on point! Authentic Irish corn beef/cabbage. It was a bit crowded and noisy, but that was to be expected--it was St. Patrick's Day!“
“Pleasantly surprised by this place located on Bryn Mawr between Kedzie and Kimball. The initial impression was that the prices on the menu seemed a bit high given its location. And some dishes like hummus plate, which consisted of cut up carrots and cucumber with pita bread and a large spoonful of hummus, was not worthwhile at $14. Same goes for a bowl of Irish cabbage soup for $10. Having said, other items like chicken wings and burgers were quite delicious and were worth paying little more for them. Given their great beer selection and wonderful cocktails, it is worth a visit.“
“The Cauldron was one of the bars I was really intrigued to visit. It has such a unique concept and I loved how there wasn't anything like it back home. We didn't make a reservation due to the $20 fee online to make one and good thing we didn't! We were able to walk in and snag a table and enjoy our night, no charge added. We ordered the Phoenix Feather and loved how it tasted! We had a deck of cards so we played a couple games and enjoyed our drink of the night. We also had the Chicago City Pass so everything came out to only $8! Such a steal! You can also do a mixing class in a separate room which we wanted to do but it didn't work with our itinerary. So make sure to also check that out!“

What was really special about Slightly Toasted is their bourbon and Whiskey collection. I had a 23 Year old Pappy, and a 2021 George T. Stagg. Oh my. Staggeringly good. Whether you're just catching up with friends and coworkers, or things more serious, this is a great place to experience.“
“This place is absolutely a must when going to events at the UC. Showed up there with a large party with no reservations and the GM assured us he would make it work. After waiting for 5 minutes , he had a table for us. Team was friendly, food was beyond fast and very delicious. Staff checked in us frequently despite being understaffed and very busy. On top of this great service , they offered a FREE shuttle to the UC and provided a generous discount on parking validation. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“

“Commonwealth is a really fun place to watch sports. They have TV's in every direction. Matt was very gracious to us and made sure we had a great experience. Our waitress was top notch as well. Also was feeling a little fancy and tried the “smoke show” cocktail (which is normally not anything I’d ever order) and was pleasantly surprised at the unique flavor (it delivers what it promises). And the food came out VERY fast! It’s been hours now, I’m still on the train, and I’m still not hungry! So if you need something quick and sustainable, I’d say consider this one! “I had my 60th birthday party at Burke's. It was awesome! We had the party room and it worked great. We NEVER had to ask for food to be brought out as they kept up with it all and replenished as needed. We had a dedicated bartender who was great. The staff were constantly clearing plates and glasses through our 3 hours there. Such a great place and such great staff!“
“A limited menu with decent food. Had the winter squash which was delish, especially the flavor combinations and goat cheese puree. Our table shared a baguette which was nice with the herbed butter and tiny anchovy. I would say this is a stellar place for whisky and bourbon selections if that's your thing. It's not your place if you're on a budget as the prices were a bit steep. Noisy atmosphere. Cute woodsy inn theme.“
