“These scones are AMAZING! He had bagels one day, and it was quite the treat. My grandfather has been a regular customer for years, and can confirm the quality is consistent and customer care is superb. Many people think of scones as dry, but these are wonderfully moist! My suggestions would be the apple cinnamon or strawberry scones for a first time try.Dietary restrictions: They had options for vegan and gluten free sensitivities. Not all options are gluten free, but are clearly labeled as such.“
“Being gluten free and dairy free has made life challenging, but not since finding Holcomb Hollow! I've been a loyal customer since finding them at Green Joe's in Schaumburg. I'v also bought them at Pure Juice Cafe in Arlington Heights. With my wacky commute, I've also been able to find them at Brewpoint Coffee in Elmhurst as well as Conscious Cup in Palatine. We love their muffins, cookies, and donuts so so much. They are tasty and never give us a problem with our special dietary restrictions. They also are at the Mundelein Farmer's Market and offer seasonal special sales from their wholesale baking location in Mundelein. I follow them on Instagram where they advertise their latest products or new flavors. I also keep tabs on which businesses stock them on their IG page because it feels like the list keeps growing! “The cookies are DELICIOUS! The company tries to switch up the flavors weekly and always does a great job deciding on new flavors. The cookies are very large too, and we split one between 3 people. “Not gonna lie, I ended up here because my husband and I needed a quick snack, and I tried to go to Choo Choo down the street, but they were packed. When I walked in, there was a long line, and that seemed promising, plus it was moving quickly. We wanted something savory, so we ordered a ham and cheese croissant, a goat cheese and pesto croissant, and a spinach quiche. They warmed up the pastries and brought them out to our table pretty quickly. I was surprised the pastries were so good. The croissants were so flakey and delightful. The spinach quiche had a lovely crust. I completely forgot to take pictures because I was in a rush and starving, but I also saw a security sign that said no camera allowed. I wish they had more savory pastry options with meat, but the ham and cheese croissant was all they had when I visited. I did see that they had sandwiches that could be ordered, so I might try that if I am ever in the area again.“

“My best friend and I had this place for the first time this morning and it was delicious!!! And the price for everything made it 10x better. The bagels were fresh and warm and the cream cheese was to die for! “There’s no doubt that this is the best ice cream shop in the greater Chicagoland area, however the staff is what makes the experience much more worth it each time we come. We came in a few nights ago and were helped by the lovely manager Zelle, who made my little brother’s birthday 10x better by not only treating him to a delicious sundae with a fun candy face and lots of sprinkles, but served it with a beautiful smile! I learned of Ciorba de Burta (tripe soup) doing travel research and I couldn't find any to try in Chicago. Tangy and hearty, this is worth the drive. The staff was friendly, even though they seemed to not necessarily know what baked goods they had in stock. Regardless I have full confidence that anything available is delicious and made with care.“

“Beautiful old traditional European cafe which brings you into the 60’ vibe. The rum ball I’m having is so tasty and perfect in size. This place reminds me Lutz Cafe on Montrose in Chicago but their sweets (two small chocolate bites + rum ball is much more tasty and simply delicious!) Atmosphere is the „feel like home” kind and place has 5 tables. They don’t use plastic utensils which is a huge plus. If you are in Lake Forest and near train station go and experience it! Don’t miss it! Highly recommended!“

“My wife and I picked up four different cupcakes. Their staff were very patient and nice. We ate three of them quickly, and the four one was still fresh three days later. We can't go there that often for two reasons - these cupcakes are very good and very sweet, and they are too expensive.“
