“9/2024Very unique experience, you get served coffee by French Nuns!I enjoyed the stop, loved the Austrian cookie I got, enjoyed the Berry Tart, the coffee was OK, and the decorations were amazing. It seemed that all baked items are baked somewhere else, I thought the tart filling was fresh, but the crust seemed a bit stale! Cookie tasted delicious, but they are not freshly baked! The Nuns were very friendly!Would go again for sure just for the unique experience! You should also go to experience it, not for the freshly baked items, but for the ambiance and experience!Oh, and they charge a percentage for credit card payments, very old school!!!Kid-friendliness: Just a very unique experience, they have plenty of pictures that could start interesting questions & answers with your children!“
“Every time I come in I love the food. Today there was an issue and a misunderstanding with my order and even though I was very hangry and kind of rude the staff were kind and caring and got me the delicious food. So highly recommend them and the adjacent bakery which is equally delicious.“
“Great small bakery. The options may be limited but the quality is high. Follow their Instagram to keep a close eye on their inventory as I hear they typically sell out quick (only so much product can be made for a day's sales).I guess they are known for their Tahini cookies. I've had several items from their menu and I would recommend fulfill your sweet tooth here.First thing I ate were the peanut butter cookies, and boy did it have peanut butter in it - grab a drink to help wash it down! The bakery takes pride in their baked goods and it is well worth their hard work.“
“I was parking and saw a crowd of people hovering around a storefront like they were waiting for doors to open for the Nordstrom Semi Annual Sale! Thus, I had to walk over and see what all the fuss was about. Tons of people were waiting outside in the cold for pastries. I looked at the menu on the window and noticed all the pastries are gluten free and they have a large selection of vegan options! There were so many vegan options that I bared the cold trying to make a decision. I settled on the vegan brownie. The staff were all friendly and processed orders quickly. While walking, I tasted a piece of the vegan brownie. It was simply, AMAZING! I can’t wait to go back and try other vegan pastry options.“
“Absolutely delicious! So light and airy with amazing flavors! Plus friendly service. The lady that helped me was also very sweet to my dog, she even came around to pet her and give her a treat. (She made sure to wash her hands immediately after!) I'll be back!“
“This place is our new favorite for a casual brunch/lunch. We've been a few times now; the food is always out of this world good, we love the setup and service, and enjoy peeking at the grocery & bakery items — we'll have to try those next.“
“My first time trying this place was for lunch today and it was such a good experience! The host was very welcoming and kind, and so was my server. I tried a blueberry bourbon drink that was amazing, and had a bowl of the chili mac that was even better. I had a lovely time and can’t wait to come back!“
“Love how they accommodate both thc and cbd if you do not like the psychoactive effect. Theres even thc infused water!!! They truly have every possible infused dessert you can think of not just your typical infused brownies. Will be back! There was vegan cupcakes for those with dietary restrictionsDietary restrictions: Has vegan cupcakes. Did not see gluten free although someone may need to fact check this“
“Love their pastries and desserts. They sometimes have other things like dim sum and rice cakes. The service is fine, like other typical Asian spots. The ambiance is a small bakery that is mostly boarded up inside. They are cash only so please prepare. There are other bakeries nearby that will take card if you choose to go elsewhere.“
“This restaurant has a very cozy vibe. Keep in mind it's a smaller restaurant that has a good crowd, so finding a place to sit can be hard during rush hour. The workers are all incredibly kind. I would highly recommend getting their breakfast sandwich, it is so so so amazing. And of course nothing says "breakfast" quite like a slice of chocolate cake from The Bear.“
“Longtime customer of this beautiful place full of hardworking people who love food just as much as I do, they just recently were able to give themselves a much deserved facelift and continue to provide amazing service and food that will always have a special place in my heart!!Vegetarian options: Vegetarian Lemongrass, Tofu“
“Love the handy drive-thru. Also love the wheat free options like chocolate chip cookies, biscuit that can substitute some for bread on sandwiches, and other pastries. Lots of pastries. LOVE the scones. Vegetarian options are tasty. Had the Rubén sandwich yesterday and it was awesome. Also love the mission of the facility. Staffed by residents of Misericordia's homes. Decent prices and great taste with a cause!!“
“Me, my fiancé and our friend came here to check it out on a rainy day and super glad we did! The three workers who helped us were super chill and made it a very comfortable experience. We all got different infused lemonades that were super tasty! We will definitely be back to try their other flavors and pastries. If you have been considering coming in, it’s definitely worth it :)“
“All the time we stopped by and shopped here, we were not disappointed, and it's been quite a few times. My family like this place every time they stop by. Their barbecue duck and pork are always fresh, and their vietnamese sandwiches are some of the best one on the area.“
“My favorite bakery ever, if i could live next door id move in a heartbeat. Every experience I had here was great. The people at the counter are always so nice. Recently I made a large order and they forgot to put in a pastry. When i told them, they were super receptive and gave me a refund. I recommend this place a hundred times over.“
“The owner - Tim - was so friendly. I stopped in for a pastry & he asked if I wanted any coffee to which I explain I don’t drink coffee at all! He asked why & explained it wasn’t really my taste in general nor did I drink caffeine. He then proceeded to make me a decaf charlatte on the house simply to show me how amazing coffee can taste. I’ve purchased it since ;) 11/10 recommend this place!!“
“It was an absolute PLEASURE to deal with James for my Pie day celebration 3/14/24. What better place to cater from for high schoolers than somewhere named Sugar Daddy ? I of course picked up some of their St Patrick’s specialties and I have honestly never had anything I did not like. ❤️ with food allergies nowadays he was incredibly accommodating to my request and very competitively priced.“
“These scones are AMAZING! He had bagels one day, and it was quite the treat. My grandfather has been a regular customer for years, and can confirm the quality is consistent and customer care is superb. Many people think of scones as dry, but these are wonderfully moist! My suggestions would be the apple cinnamon or strawberry scones for a first time try.Dietary restrictions: They had options for vegan and gluten free sensitivities. Not all options are gluten free, but are clearly labeled as such.“
“Unreal! We accidentally fell upon this place this morning and upon entering my jaw dropped and mouth started watering instantly. We ordered a big bag full of both savory and sweet pastries and we ate everything while making lots of mmmmmm sounds throughout. The coffee is great too. We are just visiting Chicago and leave tomorrow but are planning on dropping by again for one more visit before taking off back to Kentucky. All of the pastries and goodies are the perfect blend of flaky and crunchy and gooey and soft and all the right places with a different taste in every bite! Yuummmmmmm....“
“Of all the places I've tried around the city, Taste of Colombia has the best coffee anywhere in Chicago. My favorite part though is the wonderful people who work there! I feel super fortunate to have them just two blocks from my house. Make sure to give them a try!How cool this place is! They have the best coffee and desserts in all of Chicago, but the best thing is the people who work there. Many thanks to Naima, Toni and Alejandra. Always a pleasure to spend some time with you every weekend!“
“This is a really cute little coffee spot. I had no idea this was here until now, but I'm super glad to have found it! Great coffee from people who care about coffee. The owners were running the shop and were super friendly and open to chatting about the shop. I got a free drink with the beans I picked up too!“
“The plating at Sweet Moon is so exquisite that I imagine a chef using a pair of tweezers to meticulously place each item to be displayed on the dish. My mother and I talk for at least two minutes about the layout and design of the plated food before diving in and being even more amazed by the flavor combinations. My favorite menu item is the Merengue Roulette, a gluten-free merengue with mascarpone pistachio cream, raspberry jam, baked almond, and whole pistachios. For such well-crafted and well-balanced dishes, the wait time is not long, usually not exceeding 10 minutes. Although the place is typically always filled with people all customers are respectful of the noise level and it is quiet and serene. Great place to work or catch up with a friend!“
“Welcome to Roscoe Village. Oh my goodness, this place is soo much better than the Starbucks that was there previously. I hope you are able to put a few small tables on the sidewalk when the weather is nice. It is the perfect little neighborhood spot for a delicious coffee & croissant.“
“The chocolate rum balls and spinach pie are delicious and the owner is so sweet. The chocolate rum balls had nuts and were super fudgy- they just melt in your mouth. This is a great neighborhood spot! Very reasonably priced so make sure to have cash.“
“I was walking around the neighborhood and noticed the sign for New Dokil Bakery. Dokil 독일 means German/Germany in Korean, and the sign reminded me of one of my favorite Kdramas Reply 1988.This store is a cute neighborhood bakery that sells delicious Korean breads, some with cream fillings. The bread tastes fresh and homemade, and it's priced reasonably. The owner is also very friendly and welcoming. They makecakes to order as well, so next time I have a special occasion I'll try ordering from New Dokil Bakery.I like to support local businesses over international franchises, and I'm impressed that they have been in operation for over forty years!“
“Unexpectedly medium good coffee. Little bit of a bitter "robusta" beans flavor. Metropolis usually sells mass market coffee that is no good. Many varieties of signature drinks ?. They have many pastry like a donuts and muffins. The coffee shop is not cozy and not convenient.“
“Ordered 72 bundt cakes for a wedding reception and it was the hottest item on the dessert bar. The order process was smooth and thorough. The staff was very pleasant. The owners take great pride in customer service and it shows. Looking forward to ordering for our next event. Thanks again to Neil for everything!!!“
“Perfect croissants. Hardly more to say. They’re perfect. The biscuits are also near perfect. The only improvement I would wish for is that they are a little larger… ?. Meringues- perfect. Macarons- the best I’ve had. Eclairs- holy cow! The pastry cream is real. Good grief I’m hungry now….“
“North Shore Bakery Rocks!! I have been going to this amazing Bakery since High School and let me tell you..... I love the bagels, challah bread, and cinnamon coffee cake. They make the best baked goods in town. I wanted to mention and recognize Ayellet for her hard work and dedication to the business and her customers. When I go into the store for my baked goods I always get a welcome with a smile. North Shore Bakery always makes me feel like I am there only customer they have! Thank you for your amazing selections, presentation, and kind approach to the art of baking and customer service! It does not go unnoticed. Thank you for continuing to be open during these difficult times we are facing.“
“The date maamoul and baklava are affordable compared to other places, and they are very good. I also really liked the soft knafeh. My father even said that the baklava of Nazareth Sweets are the best baklava that he’s ever tried. He also said that it would be good to give as a gift or bring to a party. Even my little sister, who is quite a picky eater, really liked how the baklava tasted. The bakery smells good, and the cashier gave my mother a free piece of baklava.I really recommend this place because of its delicious desserts, and I plan on going here again and again.“
“I don’t understand how this cake turned out better than I expected. I was so scared that I was going to be disappointed because I have been in the past with other cake places but this one was not the case. I read the reviews first before my decision to get the cake done here. And I absolutely have no regrets. I just told them it was a Care Bears 1st birthday. I honestly look forward to having my future cakes made here. They were so beautiful that I had wished we didn’t have to eat them. And not only were they beautiful but delicious. Half Oreo and half guava. There was only a small bit left. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart to this talented team that work here. We could not have been any more happier with the results.“
“Very authentic Mediterranean food with an Iraqi influence. I went with my friend from Iraq and he knew exactly what to order. (We ordered a lot so he could show me the menu) The ground beef kabobs were perfectly prepared and delicious. The beef shawarma was nicely charred and very good. I'm not a big fan of Baba Ghannoush but this one was very good. The hummus was fantastic too. I've had better falafel though. I would not have typically ordered okra soup but I'm pleased my friend ordered it. It was amazing. I'd pass on the white bean soup though. The server was from Iraq and the place is small but if you want authentic cuisine, this is your place!“
“Big fan of sandwich Saturdays. The mafalda bread, mortadella and pesto sandwich last week was so good. Hoping it'll be back again. Also bought a few slices of the tres leches cake with sandwiches this weekend and everyone enjoyed them.“
“As we entered the bakery we were greeted by the owner who is extremely nice and courteous. He suggested we try some of the fresh freshly baked goods and we had the cream puffs as well as stuffed patties which were reminiscent of Jamaican patties. This bakery specializes in Pakistani baked goods as well as south Asian treats. The goods are baked daily and fresh. The bakers are available to provide their suggestions. The pastries were fresh warm and layered with butter. They were bursting in flavor and a wonderful experience to top off our Sunday. They would make an excellent addition to anyones thanksgiving dessert/appetizer plan. In addition the service was excellent. I highly suggest visiting this bakery if you are in the area!!“
“OMG the hot chocolate is to die for! Like drinking a melted candy bar and served with milk and whipped cream. Just like I've had many times in Switzerland and France. Spot on! And the Pain Au Chocolat was amazing and they warmed it up for us. Lots of seating. Definitely a go-to spot from now on!“
“I love this place and appreciate having an Italian bakery being near by. An authentic one serving lots of delicious baked item and Gelato /sorbetto,coffee. I was sad becaus3 a couple times I ordered some pasteri3s,they were old and also the Gelato and sorbetto were freezer burned. I guess I'll stick with the cannoli which is made fresh and probably in summer the Gelato will be fresher.“
“Everything I have ever purchased from here has exceeded my expectations and when I bring donuts to work, everyone raves how good they are. Other than sub par chain donut places in the city, there are almost none that I know of in the NW side of Chicago that are as good as Deerfield's. I do not mind the drive bc I know Im getting the best donuts.“
“The best cheese cake I have ever had. Good place to stop if you need to bring dessert. So many flavors to choose from. I highly recommend Eli's. I can remember when Eli's restaurant was downtown on East Chicago Ave., We would have dinner and cheesecake for dessert. I always have one in the freezer, for unexpected guest. Peter K.“
“We had a wedding luncheon for our granddaughter. 1st date was canceled due to bad weather conditions and had to cancel the order, rescheduled March 2nd.Ordered a wedding cake and sweet table trays.Enzo and Amanda were the best.Enzo was very understanding, accommodating and caring.Amanda was amazing. She helped us with the cake design and choosing the right size trays. Her suggestions were perfect!! The wedding cake was absolutely beautiful, moist and exactly as pictured. The trays were so fresh and delicious. Our guests were amazed how delicious everything was.Amanda was so kind and took so much time with us. The customer service and productwas wonderful. Been going to this bakery for years and it's always been the best. Everyone at the luncheon was asking for the bakery name. Thanks to Enzo and Amanda for always taking the time to accommodate the customers. You are the best and very much appreciated. This cake and sweets were absolutely outstanding, as always. Thanks again!!!“
“We had the BEST time at Punky Cake yesterday. My daughters and I took the cake decorating class and had so much fun and learned so much from Ashely! Ashley has such an amazing energy and taught us all the steps and techniques needed to make a double layer 8” rainbow cake! The experience was so fun we can’t wait to go back for another class! We were able enjoy eating the cake with our family and we are pretty picky about cakes and we ALL raved about the flavor and how it wasn’t too sweet and heavy. The flavor was a perfect balance of flavors. We were all very impressed!! Thank you Ashley and Punky Cakes you’ll be seeing us again very soon!“
“We just stopped into this new bakery in Winnetka and my son says it's the best cinnamon role he's ever had! The owner was extremely kind and friendly! This will be our new spot! Go and support thus local bakery, you won't regret it!“
“I've been coming to this bakery for at least 20+ years and it's always a treat. Whether getting a slice of their real Italian pizza or a cannoli or some bread/rolls or ordering a cake - you won't go wrong. Huge selection of Italian cookies and pastries as well as most other things that are baked. The biggest issue is once you get something here, no other place will ever be as good.“
“This is such a cute spot! We came early on a Sunday morning and only had to wait about five minutes for a table. Our server was kind and friendly. The coffee was delicious and served in varying styles of mugs which added to the homeyness and intimacy of the restaurant. I ordered the smoked salmon scramble which I ended up being a little disappointed by but I think that was just due to personal preference. I did really like the biscuit though! I think if I were to go again I'd get a sweet breakfast. My friend ordered some pancakes that looked super duper extra tasty. They make their whipped cream in-house and it was awesome. The pastries looked great too. We had a really nice time, thank you!!“
“This review is brought to you by the letter F! F: resh mochi, rice flour based donuts every time! Rotating flavors to suit every palate. F: amily friendly menu, with Korean hot dogs, donuts, bubble tea, and coffee drinks. F: ind it at the northeast corner of the Milwaukee/Golf intersection next to Fannie May.“
“I've never had a bad experience here at Crumbl Cookies!Since moving to the area a few months ago, this has been our go-to Crumbl Cookies spot. We get it probably once a month - yikes! Every time here, though, has been the opposite of yikes - the staff is friendly, the cookies are fresh, it's never busy, always clean, and there's ample parking outside. At my old Crumbl Cookies location in Schaumburg, it was always a tight squeeze and hustle-and-bustle situation inside the store and in the parking lot because it was so busy. This location is bigger with more parking, but it's never busy which I like. Let's be real, Crumbl Cookies are freaking good. There's 4 rotating flavors every single week and 2 constant flavors (chocolate chip & sugar). I always love the chocolate chip and will get it in replacement of one of the rotating cookies when I get a 4-pack. In my opinion the warm cookies are always better than the chilled, but some of the chilled ones are great, too. They also sometimes include a mystery cookie which yes, is a mystery when you get it. I love that they do that, I think it's a fun concept especially if you really don't know which other cookie to get or want to try something new. There's TONS of flavors in general at Crumbl, I can't even select my favorite one. When they have these flavors, I do really enjoy their cinnamon swirl cookie, s'mores, cinnamon fry bread, dulce de leche, Biscoff lava, chocolate cake, buckeye brownie, and basically any flavor that has cinnamon or caramel in it, or that's super chocolatey and gooey. You already know I'll be coming to this location again!“
“My best friend and I had this place for the first time this morning and it was delicious!!! And the price for everything made it 10x better. The bagels were fresh and warm and the cream cheese was to die for! I originally ordered a cheddar bagel but they were out of that so I just got a plain bagel with plain cream cheese and my friend got the egg bagel with plain cream cheese as well. This place was definitely a hidden gem I used to live not even a block away from this location and never knew about it. Now want their bagels everyday! Lol“
“What a fantastic Macaron shop - all the pastries and macarons are made fresh daily! They have tons of different flavors for the macarons!! The staff was super friendly and reviewed all the options available for pastries and macarons. LeilaLove is decorated so nicely inside and out - I recommend you check it out!!“
“I wanted to have an authentic polish experience with a friend and this place couldn’t be more authentic. From atmosphere to food to languages spoken, we felt like we were transported to another place. While the stuffed cabbage was our favorite, other food was good. We liked polish style goulash with pancakes, paczki (polish style donut) and rumbo (dessert with rum inside). Iced tea/fruit punch went well with all the food.We witnessed a long line form often with people buying bakery items and food to go. While we were among many who dined it was nice to be part of a busy cafe while enjoying our food. The staff were nice people and I want to come back again. Soup of the day is on my list to try plus other pastries.“
“I love this place ❤️❤️❤️ When I visit my daughter this is the 1st place I want to go. It’s right next to an awesome park that I rake my grandson to & asked him if he’d like to go there. I got an almond croissant & a cup of English Breakfast tea.,Ever since my first experience I always want to go there. It’s very cozy & everyone is so nice there. Been there several times & HIGHLY recommend this place . You’ll just love it!Five stars or more if there is such a thing ❤️❤️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“
“I am a regular customer at Chia Leah because I can't get enough of the breakfast cookies. The chocolate bark and the dragon fruit overnight oats are also favorites of mine. Chia Leah is perfect for a quick and healthy meal or snack to go. Plus, everyone who works at Chia Leah is always so nice.“
