“Came here because egg harbor had a long wait. Omg. Everything was sooo delicious starting with the crab beignets and it only got better from there. The salmon avocado toast my wife got was really good and i got the spicy shrimp omelette which was really good. The shrimp on top was nicely spiced and really tasty. Such amazing flavor in every single dish, but the surprise standout for me was the unique take on aloo tikka. It was just a flavor bomb with the perfect level of spice. “I had my wedding shower here in their private section of the restaurant. We had around 45 guests and it was amazing. The staff were amazing, especially Andrea and Tricia, the food was great and the bloody Mary’s were so tasty! Highly recommend having your private event here!”

“If you want good lagers poured the right way, come here. Everything they make is great, and while it's a small menu, typically only 5 beers on tap, it's enough of a variety imo if their focus is on quality, which is seems to be. Whenever I come into Chicago, I make the pilgrimage to the berbs to visit Goldfinger.”

“The food was really great, huge portions for a good price. We did have to wait a while even though we had a reservation. It felt a little chaotic, but we did have 12 in our party, so probably that was the reason. They are super busy, give them a lot of credit handling so many in a small space. I do plan to go back, maybe takeout, though.”

“We had a 50th anniversary party for our parents scheduled at another restaurant that overbooked us. We frantically searched for somewhere comparable six days before the event. Fortunately, we found Gatto’s. It was not comparable; it was far superior than our original restaurant. I honestly expected it to feel like they were doing us a favor by hosting our party. Instead, we were treated like royalty. The food…THE FOOD. Best calamari, hands down, in my life. Our kids table of picky eaters polished off the entire family size bowl of rigatoni with vodka. It was incredible. The service was second to none. JJ and the rest of the crew took care of EVERYTHING. We WILL be back soon!”

“I cannot say enough good things about the meal we had. We ordered a ton to share and every dish was better than the last. Chicken Biryani, Butter Chicken, Palak Paneer, Gulab Jamun, the garlic naan, the mutton soup, the mint chutney, perfectly sweet mango lassi, and at least a half dozen other dishes that I forgot the name of. Everything was so good!One thing: make sure to ask for extra spoons early and often!”

“We had our wedding reception in the Barrel Room at the Downers Grove location in September. Lisa was amazing to work with from start to finish! She was responsive to my hundreds of emails (almost not kidding) and always available when I would reach out to look at the space. She helped me work out my vision for the space, was present during our rehearsal to make sure the initial setup was what I wanted and then was around the entire day of our wedding to make sure things went smoothly.We loved Alter before our wedding, but she and the staff are definitely a reason we will keep coming back and recommending events being held there! Also, not to leave out how awesome the beer is.”

“Giordano's was a great experience. The ambiance was warm and cozy, it looked very welcoming. They looked understaffed, though it was just after Christmas. Hence it was a bit slow, but the food was totally worth it. My friend and I ordered the Margarita pan pizza with parmesan crust without pesto. It was really good and saucy. We will definitely be back in the future.”

“Our server Kelley was everything a server should be. Additionally, she was a delightful young lady. I strongly recommend both dining here and requesting her as your server. “Tonight my family and I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Osteria by Capri. We were invited by the new ownership to give them a try after a poor experience by the previous ones.Let me say they did not disappoint! As being first generation Italian/American with my parents being immigrants from Italy, I like to say I know our cuisine extremely well. Allow me to share with you my experience. We were seated and our server Virginia greeted us with a big welcome and smile making us feel at home already! We ordered our appetizer of gnocchi stuffed with Asiago served with a vodka sauce! Totally light and fluffy with the tang of Asiago and sweetness of the sauce. One can definitely eat two servings because they were that good! And yes, hot, crusty Italian bread was brought to the table! Next our main courses… - Homemade rigatoni with plain marinara sauce. You can tell they were homemade by their size. They were perfect texture when bit into. The marinara sauce was perfectly balanced with tomato, garlic and a tiny pinch of red pepper! ( Don’t mind the lack of sauce in my pic below, our daughter doesn’t like a lot of it ) - Linguini with mussels in red sauce. You were able to see and taste that this was just made. The richness of the sugo with mussels was deep! - Linguini with clams in white sauce. Both of these dishes were piled with either clams ( or mussels ).The clam sauce keeps you diving in for more. You sense that clams, garlic, EVOO, clam broth were just simmering perfectly to give you that umami. And the linguini were perfect al dente! - Eggplant Parmesan with penne. The owner had told us that his was amazing. Now when one dares to set the bar high on this dish you best deliver. Let me tell you… IT DELIVERED! The eggplant was not heavy or greasy, rather light and flavorful. Some people pile mozzarella on it, this was not too much or not too little. Nothing overpowered the next! Balance! The penne and marinara were equally good but the eggplant Parmesan was the star! We dared to order dessert! Canoli You ask any Italian our biggest pet peeve of cannolis are when they aren’t filled all the way and they’re hallow in the middle. This was stuffed all the way through with the perfect sweet filling. NOT with (as my father would call it) sweet cement, but with a light, flavorful cream with chocolate chips and the tips covered with pistachio… like real Sicilians like it! Tiramisu This dessert has been so played out in America. Everyone tastes just… meh. But this one… THIS ONE was an experience! Simply because it was light, airy, full of flavor! The mascarpone was sweet and light. When you got to the bottom where the coffee liquor was you can taste this dessert was fresh. The flavors brought me back to being a kid when my mom would make me this for my birthday! All in all our meal was excellent. Virginia came by at just the right time, every time making sure everything was going well or if we needed anything else. She treated us like family! Food isn’t just about nourishing one self. It’s about creating memories so that when you recreate it in the future it brings them back, like they did with the tiramisu. When those memories get triggered you just feel like you’re home. Capri did that tonight! This is the place to be if you’re missing home!”

“I’m from Michigan. During my travels I stop for lunch and the greeting was warm and friendly. I waiter approached us with the biggest friendly smile as if he was greeting a long lost friend! That made our dinning experience fun and exciting.”

“As always, Aurelio's hits the spot. Ordered a couple 18" (fiesta) pizzas on a Monday evening. Quick service. Ready in 30 min. Probably could've used an extra few minutes in the oven for my taste, but still great product. I've been to many locations over the years but never downers grove. Surprised to see triangle cut pie at front of kitchen for slices to go but I guess it tastes the same as square cut, or does it? Might have to swing thru again to give that a shot.”
