“I was there for a Wedding Shower. The food was very good, and the service was outstanding. I would recommend Yummy Bowl for regular dining, or for special occasions.Dietary restrictions: Some people were gluten free and vegetarian. They accommodated all requests without a problem.“
“As mentioned by many the food and service are fantastic. Location is good as well with nearby parking and good people watching. Same note as others that they do need to put a tad bit more effort into the hallway and restrooms; there’s a ton of food stacked in the hallway and the bathroom was not clean nor maintained at all. So, good food and a nice dining room with super attentive service; just avoid the hall and bathrooms.“
“Jade was off it's game for a while. In the last yea (2023), the quality seems to have returned. My favorite from have is Kung Pao Chicken. The chicken is gristly on occasion and that turns me off enormously (The chicken is never grizzly at Yummy Bowl for instance), I believe the buyer can opt to pay for a better grade in most anything. Of love to have "gristle-free" chicken, their lo mein and sauces are excellent. I've gotten in the habit when ordering from Jade, specifying that 'I don't want any hard pieces or gristle in the chicken, can you do that?' They say of course and those seem to be the times when the chicken is at its best. Recommended again.“
“The food is absolutely delicious. Fast, convenient, and oh so much flavor! I had the fried chicken steak jianbing and we also tried the original egg waffle and salted egg yolk waffle. Very excited to have them in the neighborhood and already can't wait to stop in again.“
“Had a great experience my first time here. Food was delicious, portions were huge, and the service was phenomenal!! Service is what really stood out to me. Also they were very fast and gave a complimentary cookie and fortune cookie with the check. Highly recommended ! Try the combination rice can't go wrong.“
“Great hand made noodles, price was very reasonable for the dish I got, and the room was cute and well kept. It's not fancy fine dining, with all the extra fluff but it was a great place to pop in for dinner from the hotel I was staying at around the corner.“
“Sooo fantastic! I asked for wonton soup..Korean wings & spring rolls. I'll say that I will be a FOREVER customer now..the wings were the BEST I've ever had,so crunchy and the seasoning was spot on~the flavor was mmmmMMmm also ,the soup tasted like it was JUST made.. i was really happy when i saw that i was given rice as well! ..most importantly for me, this food was REALLY clean and by that I mean -ingredients that were selected & prepared with intent..no "after taste" no grease..just delicious homemade honest food! Thank you!Parking: Wouldn't ever be an issue“
“I have driven by this restaurant for 3 years and finally tried it. I wish I would have stopped sooner. A gem of a restaurant, with amazing food and great service. I am a sucker for breakfast so when I saw that they serve it until 230, I had to try. The Alaska Benedict was TO DIE FOR!! The Wasabi hollandaise was such a surprisingly delightful taste. The cucumbers and lemon added a flavor and crunch that I never knew I needed in my benedict. It also came with potatoes and brussel sprouts that blew me away. Seriously, you have to try it. I also ordered a Philly roll and it was the best I've had. The smoked salmon on the Benedict and the roll was so good. The breakfast menu looks fantastic, along with the regular menu. I absolutely will be returning, I need to make up for lost time!“
“The food was delicious. It was just not clear about their menu; there were none at the restaurant so there were discrepancies between what I saw online and what I was told I could order. While waiting 12 year olds came in and out with ice cream bars and I couldn't see where they got them from. Glencoe is bizarre.“
“This place is LIT. I am so picky and such a food snob, this place has a great level of spice, great flavors, every single thing I got was good. A little on the pricey side, wish portions for price were a little bigger, but SO good. Will be coming back.“
“I am not local, this is a regular go-to place for a friend, so when I visit with her, she wants to bring me. I had a Chinese Eggplant with chicken dish, flavorful and spicy. Also had some nigiri sushi, all very good. The Black Tobiko was plentiful and fresh. The Tamago and Inari, which are types of sushi that are deceptively simple seeming but really show a chef's knowledge and artistry, were excellent. I'm sure I will go again.“
“I’m always excited about their stir fry bar! I’ve been here a couple of times. Pre covid this place was amazing and one of my favorite spots. When they reopened after Covid, it was meh. There was no stir fry bar and the food was subpar.I’m glad I visited again, and they are absolutely back in their game and were delivering delicious food! Stirfry bar is back and the food was divine. I tried green curry and yellow curry as sauces with thick flat noodles with Shrimp and it was amazing! Would recommend trying green curry and Penang if you like Spicy.Place was packed on Saturday night, reserve ahead if you can.“
“We ordered for a party of 20 ladies and the food was absolutely delicious! They were so courteous and made the food exactly as we asked! Thank you wile will definitely be ordering again! Amazing food and serviceVegetarian options: Manchurian medallions, garlic tofu/paneer, eggplant schezwan, burnt garlic rice“
“best chinese food you will ever get i’ve grown up with this place and it is absolutely fabulous! The customer service is incredible and the food is outstanding I have not yet been to a place that’s better then Hunan star I truly don’t believe there is a better chinese cuisine better then this!“
“If you want the best food down in highland Park you should definitely try this place out honestly God I've been going here for years I just moved farther away so now I got to take a trip to get out here to to get the best Chinese food ever I love their combination rise or fried rice I love the sweet and sour chicken and I just like everything on the menu to be honest my family loves going here I always love going here again I just would like 2 hours away so I can't come here often but when I do The guide knows who the heck I am and ask about what's been happening besides that is the best service ever get they're quick fast and would recommend this to anybody and everybody“
“Damn fine restaurant, probably the best Chinese food in glenview. Highly recommend. I got crab rangoons, spring rolls, spicy calamari and the sweet and sour fish. Food was authentic and delicious. Will definitely come againVegetarian options: Lots of tofu options“
“In order to get better Chinese BBQ at Chinatown prices you have to drive to Chinatown ??♂️. Specifically now the Kennedy expressway is under construction, Jason is it.The lunch plates with a little vegetable, some basic soup and a BBQ meat is about &10-$12. It isn’t a good value anymore. Tasty but not a good deal.Carry out only.“
“Despite its small and minimal interior that may not be conducive to dining in. While the prices may be a tad higher compared to fast-food options like Panda Express, the authenticity of the cuisine makes it worth the expense. Although the service may not be exceptional, it's not necessarily a deterrent, especially if one anticipates it. Having visited twice now, I've found that the quality of the food remains consistently good, which speaks to the restaurant's commitment to delivering delicious dishes. While I wouldn't recommend dining in due to the limited interior, this restaurant is certainly worth considering for its authentic flavors and reliable quality. If you're in the mood for Chinese food that's a step above the usual fast-food fare, this place is a solid choice.“
“We've been coming here for several years with a break also for several years because something changed and the good wasn't good. The last 3 yrs, this place has been amazing! There aren't a lot of good Chinese places around here so I am ecstatic this place exists and we eat here almost every week. Its our only chinese take out place now. Noodle dishes are great, rice, egg foo young, salt & pepper chicken, chicken wings, pot stickers. Really everything. We constantly try new dishes and they have all been good. If you've been here once and didn't like it, I recommend you try them again. Food is always done quickly too.“
“This is korean style chinese restaurant. Its inside of mall so not recommended you to eat here when you dating with someone. ?But if you miss or want to try korean food i recommended here. ? foods are always great. If you are vegetarian there are only two options. Spicy noodle and mapo tofu.“
“Great food & service. Their food is so delicious. My 5-year-old ordered 3 dishes & ate by himself. Definitely, kids will love this place. The Mayo Seau Shrimp is my favorite. My son loves the Jaengban-Jjajang & ordered it as non spicy.“
“Amazing food. Prices are good too. It could be tidier on the inside but overall it's good food. As of march 2023 there is still no dine in available since the pandemic but that does help the time for food to get to you be shorter. 100% recommend.“
“Ordered the Phoenix and the Vegetable Maki off the happy hour menu. The Itamae (sushi master) was very sweet & working really hard. She made the experience way better.Ambiance was great, too. Great music and cozy vibe.Vegetarian options: Vegetable maki had great flavor“
“My family highly recommends Bin Hai. Or favorites are the Tofu dishes and fried rice. Consistent and very tasty Chinese food. Fast and happy service by the owner. We've been going there for many years. It's grandma's favorite. We used to eat in, but they've been carry out or delivery since the 2020 pandemic.“
“I was craving sesame balls, and I'm glad I tried this place! They serve 8 sesame balls for ~$5, an amazing price. Even better, the owner and staff make the sesame balls from scratch! They are extremely fresh, chewy, sweet, and nothing like I've tried from other places.Definitely will come again to try other menus!“
“I love this food. I can’t describe what I felt when I tasted the fried rice. It was like I was getting a back massage in the sun while drinking a smoothie. I would go here everyday if I can. The one person working, works very hard. This is absolutely amazing. I would recommend to go here any day.Parking: Great.“
“I'm always hesitant to give a glowing review because then they will get too busy and I won't get my order quickly. We order from Chinatown Kitchen frequently. There are closer places to order but Chinatown Kitchen makes my food just like I want it. Not a lot of explanation needed. They have prompt service and the order is correct. Not a dine in place but that's not what I'm looking for. Good food, prepared my way and quickly.“
“Friendly service and omg this place got a variety Asian food stop and some of the stuff I don't even get back home in Maryland. Like who served beef soup with beef bone marrow in it was so full of flavor and the portion is so huge. Pho was excellent.“
“I was amazed to get this quality of food away Chinatown. They were also willing to make me stuff off menu. The flavors are pretty authentic. At least for a non Chinese Vegetarian ?The standout dishes for me are Scallions pancake, Mapo Tofu, Eggplant with Tofu, Silky Tofu in Salty Yolk sauce, Eggplant in Garlic sauce, Tomato and Eggs dish, Sauteed String Beans and Bok Choy with Garlic.“
“Like it says on Google, "it's okay". The place gives me new china buffet vibes from that AYCE Chinese restaurant that was closed over by Libertyville by the car dealerships. The food here is decent, but the pricing (and tip) don't quite match the portions of a regular takeout place.“
“I love PNS! I've been coming to this location for years and it always hits the spot. I am a big fan of the Vegetarian Bowl with tofu - it's light and healthy but delicious. I've also tried a few appetizers and I've enjoyed everything. I usually call in my orders and they're quick to fulfill and orders are easy to pick up. I hope this store never closes in Northfield!“
“Good food, especially for carry out. We followed little lans from Wilmette to Winnetka, over 20 years. The service had occasionally been spotty , but in the last several years it has become reliable again. The dining room is also quite pleasant.Hot & Sour Soup is excellent as is the hot pork and green beans.“
“We had never visited this restaurant before last night and wow, it was fantastic. Our server, Justin, couldn't have been more gracious or accommodating to our needs, despite having to cover many other customers. My wife asked if he ran track, and yes, he used to be on the team in school. We asked for his chicken recommendation and he clued us in to a wonderful dish called Flower chicken. Tender white meat, simple vegetables and a delightful, light sauce. All the food was fresh and flavorful, the atmosphere was relaxing on a busy Sunday evening and the prices were very reasonable for the quality. We will be back.“
“Super authentic food that’s fantastic and fresh. Some of the better egg rolls around. It really reminds me of my childhood when we would go to a Chinese restaurant. Service is always great. Servings are very large so easily shareable. You will not be disappointed.“
“It's a nice place, plenty of table opened when we arrived, Sunday night and a week post Lunar New YearFood tastes good, portions a little small and ingredients for some dishes are lacking. Waitress was courtesy and quick, sitting was not desirable as it was "sit yourself situation" wish the wait staff will seat each table as it is more formal way to greet incoming guests. Ppl begin to seat at the booth instead of tables.Food choices were plentiful and menu organized very nicely. Prices were reasonable and worthy, moderately priced.“
“Usually in there around lunchtime. Lunch Combos and Specials have large portions, and each dish has a distinct taste. I've never gotten a bad order from China Kitchen. Good pricing for Lunch menuParking: There are 4 places to get food on this strip. Parking comes in waves throughout the lunch break. Not bad if there at begining or towards end of lunch break“
“I have been to this restaurant many times over the years, but I especially enjoy the lunch specials. For around $9, you can choose from a variety of main dishes, accompanied by soup, an optional egg roll for $1, and a fortune cookie. The food is predictably good, relatively fast, and there is never a feeling of being rushed. The service is very good and they don't mind if you ask for some changes (in my case, no mushrooms).“
“I went here for dinner on Christmas Day, and I was informed at the door that,-- as it is one of their busiest days of the year-- there would be an inordinate wait on food, maybe 45 minutes or so. Understandable. I work in the industry, I don't celebrate holidays, and I don't know how to cook, so I'm always just grateful that there's any place open that will feed me, and I'm a pleasant customer who tips well, so no worries at all. What really ruined my dinner, however, was the appalling behavior of the guests around me. Even though the waitstaff-- who were incredibly friendly and attentive, especially considering the circumstances-- stopped by frequently to check in on all of the tables, reminding everyone of the extra wait times and apologizing profusely (even though, IMHO, they had nothing to apologize for), STILL people were complaining. Complaining to people who had to work on Christmas, while THEY were able to spend time with their families and have a nice meal by contrast. I felt so bad for the staff-- who were all amazing, by the way-- and in all honesty, I didn't think the wait for the food was unreasonable at all. The appetizer I ordered came out right away, and I don't think I waited more than 25 minutes for the rest of my meal after that-- certainly not 45 minutes anyway, and even if I had, they were giving everyone notice about the wait at the door AND at the table, and that was exactly the right thing to do. You could tell the staff was prepared, and did everything that they could to make sure everyone got served in as timely a fashion as possible, and everyone should have been A LOT more grateful for that than they were. The only thing I could have found to complain about was the tablet system for ordering, just because I prefer a different style of dining out, but even so, I know as well as anybody how COVID-19 changed the landscape for this industry, and for a lot of places, instituting that kind of a procedure is the best course of action for staying in business. So even that I can forgive. Plus, the waitstaff was incredibly attentive and proactive in answering all of their guests' questions about the ordering process, for which again, I give them 5 stars. It honestly just made me cringe the way all of the customers around me were acting, and I really wish I had stood up and said something to all of those ungrateful cretins, I really do. I hope if any of you are reading this (perhaps because you came to leave your own, negative reviews for some ungodly reason) that you feel ashamed of yourselves. As penance for staying quiet when I should have spoken, I tipped enough on my bill to buy a round for the staff on top of the gratuity, so I hope that helped a little bit to not allow the people who dined that day to ruin all of their Christmas Days. THANK YOU, Lao Sze Chuan, for your professionalism in the face of adversity and for providing Evanston with great food and service! You will absolutely be receiving my business again in the new year.“
“Honestly, this place was one of the best places i’ve eaten in a while. The interior of the restaurant is adorned beautifully in stunning paintings. The food was superb and tasted amazing. My favorite was the hot tea that was just the perfect taste and left me feeling satisfied.“
“Ordered hot and spicy soup , egg roll.and crab ration. It was delicious. Hot and sour soup was not spicy it was just perfect. Had a kick but nothing over powering. Best I have had. . I was not well so my dtr ordered it for me and it really helped. Best soup I have had in a long time. Great job.“
“We heard about this place from friends who said we shouldn’t be deterred by the reviews (which are dated). Our friends couldn’t have been more right - Excellent food at excellent prices. Delivery was faster than the quoted time and the food was so hot we needed to wait a few minutes. Definitely our “go to” Chinese place. Chow fun and moo shu pork are excellent. Great egg rolls too.“
