“This review is for late lunch for two at the bar on a Saturday in mid-February. service: Meliada (hope I got that right) was our bartender and she was awesome. Very professional and knowledgeable. Everyone we interacted with was fantastic. bar: Their Heartbreaker IPA ($7 for 16 oz as of 2/2024) is highly recommended! We also bought a four-pack of tall boys of their Misfit IPA ($10, what a bargain!), which turned out to be equally great. Looks like a full bar plus wine. food: My wife got the South Chicken Salad ($16) with avocado on the side and I had the Western Burger ($17). Both were really fantastic. Wide ranging menu with lots of options. details: Plenty of surface parking, which is great. Wild Onion is in a bit of an industrial or commercial area. Interior is nice and it looks like there is special events space. '70s and '80s arena rock on the sound system.“
“My wife planned my surprise 40th birthday at Region. From start to finish the night was perfect. The food was impeccable and very well cooked. The staff was amazing, extremely helpful and just pleasant throughout the entire night. Everything went perfect and i would recommend anyone to have their private event at Region.“
“Very friendly people work here and make you welcome from the get-go.Had the chorizo casserole. It was delicious and filling. Had a $2 16oz Hamms as well. They had PBR and Stroh's as well.In addition, they have poker machines for entertainment.“
“I was the day of coordinator for a recent wedding that rented out MadCats for their after party. I worked with Sauvio who had great communication and is super personable & a great host. He worked the event!! Great expert. Great food. And an incredible atmosphere for all the guests. Everyone had a great time!!“
“I joked to my friends that I want to be the GM of this place, and in my interview I would stress that I have zero ideas for change, I bring nothing new to the table, and would strive to keep everything exactly as it is. This place is perfect and I would drive up to Beelow's over any steakhouse in Chicago. I love a classic restaurant doing things the old way, and the food and service are genuinely fantastic.“
“This place is great. The food is always good and I've not had a bad meal there once. Service has always been fast and friendly. My only complaint about the "Atmosphere" is that it can sometimes feel a little cramped.Parking: It's a shared parking lot and it can get a little full around lunch time.“
“This place has been a staple in my life since they’ve gotten to this location. The food is amazing and the staff??? AMAZING. As a server it is so refreshing to have such good service being given. Been coming here for years and I’ve never had a bad experience with anything here. LOVE LOVE “
“The service was fantastic at this cute place. The atmosphere and menu were wonderful. The food was pricey and ok. I ordered an extra egg which didn't come and was charged 3 dollars. One child's food came and the other came 8 minutes later.... doesn't seemlike a lot but it's a lot when you are with hungry kids. I am not sure if this would be my first choice for brunchI will go back for a drink though“
“I brought my mom here today and we both had Reshmi Curry with Eggplant-She had it with the chickpea noodles and I had it with rice. They were absolutely delicious, savory meals. We both cleaned our plates. And I’m a child-sized person, so that’s saying something.I certainly can’t complain about the service or the price either. I was also happy to find a restaurant that didn’t have any steps, since my mom uses a walker.“
“No wake is great. The servers and bartenders are really friendly. The prices at this bar are always reasonable. I always enjoy the food when I visit. Atmosphere is fun too. This bar is popular but gets more crowded in the summer months. Located on the Fox River it's always fun to stop while boating. They also have gas for refueling boats. There are also a lot machines and there is outdoor seating in the summer months. I would highly recommend visiting no wake.“
“Whitney St is a traditional diner, and the food is good and service good. What my family especially appreciates is the Sunday buffet. Great for the kids and great for larger groups.Kid-friendliness: Such an easy place to eat with the kiddos.“
“Spicy Wings!!! Great place to entertain family and friend!!!! . If you want spicy wings with meat on them (not Bdubs) this is the place. Ordered the wings as spicy you can make them and my lips are still tingline if you know what I mean. Just asked Jake and they are called suicide jalapeño. Awesome atmosphere will definitely come here again for another sporting event!“
“Stopped in quick for some pizza and to watch the game. Staff was friendly and helpful. Loved their tater tots. Pizza wasn't our style, but hit the spot after a long drive. Great place to watch the game.Parking: Lot is pretty small and a little difficult to get in and out of, but there was parking available.“
“Had a great time stopping in for lunch on a Sunday. Tasty spicy Bloody Mary. So happy they bag interesting vegetarian options!!! This made my vegetarian friends happy and me because I picked it! Buffalo Cauliflower was just lightly battered and peefectly cooked with a good plate full. The chickpea curry was yummy and I had grilled chicken with it. The desserts looked yummy but not this trip. Next visit we will try the beer and desserts!Vegetarian options: Offered tofu as alt protein!Dietary restrictions: They are a scratch kitchen so were able to accommodate a few changes due to allergies“
“Super cute and cozy! I got to enjoy Easter brunch here and the breakfast menu is amazing. The breakfast is definitely more home style and I got large portions. If you have a sweet tooth, try the fruit crepes. I believe I had the rhapsody. Mouth watering goodness!!“
“Kiefs reef is a fun clean and friendly establishment. My family and I often come here and are treated like family. The service is amazing the food is great and the atmosphere is very inviting. The waitresses and staff are wonderful. Couldnt ask for a better home town bar and restaurant.“
“Well, been passing by this place forever and this time we decided to stop in. Very sparse parking so we asked where to park and immediately the female bartender came outside and pointed to a few locations. She must have been an owner because it is rare and doubtful an employee would be so accommodating. Moving on..... We were seated, by the very nice and conscientious female bartender. She asked for our drink order and gave us menus........ So far so good......The food..... Corn Beef and Cabbage Dinner-Outstanding Monster Burger-Incredible Ruben-Great Patty Melt- Delicious Absolutely excellent all around. Not a single negative comment from anyone in our party. Oh, yeah! There was a gentleman talking to some people at the bar and was showing the coolest DUCK model to his friends. Said his buddy made them and was selling them for $5. My buddy immediately jumped up and bought it and asked for another one. Well the gentleman left the bar. Damn... no duck for me....... Hold on...... He returned with another duck in hand. I snapped it up and thanked him. That doesn't happen nowadays. How cool is that. The entire experience of that bar/grille was that of a typical Chicago old neighborhood tavern. Great people. Great food. special nod to the female bartender. Awesome lady who "gets it." We'll be back.....again and again.“
“It's been awhile since I've been in the area. Had to stop out. Layout is the same. The place remains under the same owner as far back as I can remember. Staff is very friendly. The food is delivered quickly, the portions are above average in size, and they even do stuff like serve full pickle spears instead of cheap thin slices. Overall a solid entry into a pretty competitive market (Lake Zurich). I'll be back soon.“
“Savory dishes were delicious, well-seasoned. The hashbrowns were cooked perfectly crisp! But dessert dishes like the crepes and pancakes were horrible. Crepes tasted really wet (texture is like an overcooked noodle) and pancakes were flat and tasteless.“
“The menu and taplist are great! Something for everyone! Plenty of vegetarian and carnivore options, most beer styles well-represented. Lots of local gems on the tap list, amazing selection of bottles and top shelf whiskey wall, and superb specialty cocktails. Great service-Real good people.“
“This was my first visit, and it was fantastic! The bar staff was super personable and attentive, and the karaoke was really fun! The owner even took time to chat with me for a few minutes. River Street will definitely be a regular destination for me!“
“My husband has been coming here since high school in the 1990’s - always raved about it. We’ve been coming together since we met 11 years ago. The food never disappoints and portions are huge! Our server, Sammie, has been here forever and is WONDERFUL!!! My husband travels to New York often for work and says the Canteen corned beef is even better than the famous Katz’s Deli in NYC!!! It’s amazing! You won’t be disappointed ever with anything you order!!! I can’t give enough stars!!!!! ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“
“This place is really awesome they specialize in hamburgers. Next to the railroad tracks lots of TVs good place to watch sports services good their beer wine liquor selection is very good. We'll be going back to this place many times if possible. Parking is a bit of a hassle but the food is worth “
“JAMES HYDRICK recently brought my fiancee back to my life, after we have been composed for 9years. We have stayed living favorably without any delinquent. I always converse about matrimony with her but she replies me with, And promise me that we will soon get married. I was shock on a faithful day when she called me and told me that she is no longer interested in the relationship, because she met another guy, and they were almost getting married. I was stunned and dizzy after hearing that from her. I was so drained and tried to get back to myself because deprived of her it was dreadful because I truly love her with the whole of my emotion. Until I was fixed up to JAMES HYDRICK whose email is (divine.spells@yahoo. com) I communicated with him and he guaranteed me that my wish will be settled unto me after 48 hours, and he told me to count on his words, and he gave me every purpose why I have not to worry any longer. So that was how James came into my marital life and fetched my girlfriend back to me after 48 hours as James hyrick guaranteed me, and now here I am affirming of his virtorious works. And he also cast money spell for me that really well-ordered out for me. So I will recommend you to contact him once you are in need of magic spell. he is sincere and real to help you out.. (divine.spells@ yahoo. com)“
“Great food and staff. Love going here! Kosta is an amazing server! He is on top of everything no matter how busy it is. He makes you feel like you're the only table he has. Friday and Saturdays are busy but if you get there at the perfect time, there's no wait!“
“Excellent food and service with gluten free options. They prepare your salad at your table which was a nice surprise and have an "adult" dessert cart, nice old school touch.Dietary restrictions: They were attentive to our gluten free needs“
“Kudos to the Little Chef!!! Your takeout St Patrick’s Day corned beef and cabbage dinner was spot on! Generous portions (!) and cooked perfectly - I had to post this before I dive into the dessert because I probably will die and go to heaven!“
“The gentlemen at the counter were courteous, enthusiastic about their products, and very entertaining. I could have stayed all day! They had a sample platter with turkey and ham salad, bread slices, and pimento cheese spread. It was delectable. I can't wait to go back with my girlfriends and enjoy a quaint lunch in their café.“
“WOW-ZAH! The Blue Heron Cafe!!have been craving a good burger - for weeks. So I decided to try a place nearby with a great word-of-mouth following & reputation.WHAT A FIND ( ok, NEW= To Me)This was the most amazing Char grilled-hand made Burger I've had in YEARS!! All topped with sweet grilled onions & the freshest butter lettuce, ripe juicy tomatoes, & BBQ sauce (on the side)......this level of burger was totally unexpected! I got a lovely fresh salad on the side- Yum!The Blue Heron Cafe = is WAY more than a local sports bar! ☆☆☆☆☆ Cheers to the Chef! And to your sweet bartenders!“
“Excellent atmosphere!! From the food, to the service, and soft music. Was a perfect date night. It’s a nice quaint place and very unassuming. Not very fancy but the food is AMAZING!! Can’t wait to come back. If you’re adventurous & like exotic meats, whatever the special is, GET IT!! Family owned business and extremely knowledgeable and friendly staff. Put this one on your list!“
“Went on a Saturday night when it was extremely busy, but still have a fabulous experience! Kelsey B was our server, probably the best server we have ever had. The food was delicious and everything came out quick and hot. We will definitely only come to this location from now on!Dietary restrictions: Great gluten free options“
“Place is exactly what you're hoping for when you go to one of these spots. Cheesy beef was the definition of cheesy! Finally a place that don't just give ya one layer there had to be 3-4 layers of cheese! And the tuna melt on a hot pita oh my goodness nicely mixed and fresh topping and veggies. This is definitely a good place and you can hear the guy at the counter addressing "Billy" so could only assume the man the place is named after is back there working love to see it“
“We got there when they first opened and our service was great. I’ve been places that act out off by the arrival of customers upon first opening so I am appreciative that was not the case. We drive for a living so getting to stop and eat somewhere is a treat. This spot is connected to a hotel so the parking may be minimal depending on what they have going on. We’re in a 40’ straight truck and still found parking with a full lot. Being that it was my first time I’d never had the Hawaiian chicken before. It reminded me of burbon chicken, which I am not a fan of. I asked if they could remake the chicken without the marinade and there was no issue. Don’t let that discourage you from trying the Hawaiian I’m just a super picky eater. The rice pilaf and broccoli were great! Check your water cups because I didn’t catch mine til later into my drink that it had some floaties at the bottom. I had no toddlers with me to cause this. I did let my waitress know and she took care of it and informed me she switched water sources. I mention this so anyone with an issue isn’t hesitant to bring it respectfully to their attention and they too will respectfully address and fix the problem. No yelling or fits are necessary. Now that we know this place is here and we can fit our truck we will be sure to try more dishes in the future should we return to this area. Thank you to the hostess and the rest of the staff for taking such good care of us.“
“We had a girls dinner at Coopers Hawk and all was fantastic - the food, atmosphere and service. Our waitress Paula was amazing and just so sweet attentive. I ordered some appetizers to munch on. The drunken shrimp (came with 5) were good and crisp. the ‘over the border egg rolls’ were the best I have ever had! Two of the three dipping sauces it came with were dynamite! In additional to their famous crispy brussels sprouts, I will also be ordering the on the border egg rolls too. The Cooper’s hawk ale was also a delightful“
“A hometown jewel for casual dining! A supper club vibe with excellent food and classic cocktails, you can't go wrong at the Fox. Note that it's extremely busy in the warm weather evenings and weekends as it's a must stop while cruising on the river.“
“First time last night for dinner with friends. What a great atmosphere, music could have been a tad lower. The service was very attentive. The food was really good. The crispy coconut tofu was a really good dish with many flavors mixing together to be amazing. Overall we will be back again!“
“I’ve been here 3 times now, and each time I’ve been greeted with smiles and kindness. The owners are very kind and welcoming. To make this better the scenery is very cool! Seeing the massive collection of antique Coca-Cola products is amazing, not to mention the food is amazing quality for its low prices. The mixed Italian sub and Italian beef are mind blowing and 10/10 recommend to everyone.“
“Bleuroot is honestly one of my favorite restaurants. Being gluten free and focused on healthier eating, there are so many options to choose from on the menu. The cocktails are unique and taste amazing as well. I have been here three times and have never been disappointed. I will continue to come back often.“
“Celebrated my fiancé 30th birthday there and it was the best. Kenny made sure we had everything set days before the party, showed up to the party to help out and make sure everything was great. He would keep up with checking in every so often which was nice to have the owner involved and actually care how it was all going. The bartenders were super awesome and made sure to check on everyone who was in the golf simulator on drinks and food. Overall I’m so thrilled we did his party there. Would 100% recommend lulu’s to anyone who is looking for a nice, clean, laidback vibe and overall fun. Thank you guys for being so awesome!“
“Today we were in the area and decided to stop in for lunch. It has been a year since we left a review. The dining room is the same and very clean! The person who took our order was really nice and professional as always! I ordered the 1/2 slab of ribs it came with a side salad, a 6" piece of corn on the cob, and fries which I upgraded to the baked potato for $1 more. The baked potato was quartered and a huge potion size so definitely worth the extra $1. The 1/2 slab of ribs had about 7 bones... so you got a decent amount! My husband ordered the Italian beef and added Provolone cheese for 65 cents which was well worth it! I posted a video for each of our food items. We loved our food and would definitely order it again!“
“Zin is a place that we don't visit often. The food is decent enough, but an extremely limited menu. The service was slow on a night where it wasn't very crowded, and I would say our meals were above average but definitely not something that I would recommend as a must go to. It's a decent place to meet friends for a cocktail maybe a couple of appetizers really more than anything else.“
“Took my sister there for the 1st time. She absolutely loved it! The atmosphere was great, very cozy and cute. The service was awesome, and the staff were great! Going back for the custard!!!?Kid-friendliness: Lot's of sweet goodies!“
“I was stuck at work and my daughter forgot to bring snacks to dance class. 30 minutes prior to closing I ordered delivery to her at the local community center! Thanks to the girl I spoke with who made it happen and quickly! Great food great service!“
“If you're looking for an American fare restaurant the Around the Clock Restaurant is a great choice. They have a fairly typical American style menu with a little bit of something for everyone, and the small bakery area has a good enough variety to soothe anyone's sweet tooth. My wife and I both had skillets and although my wife didn't necessarily like something about her steak (maybe the marinade?), we did generally enjoy our meals. I mean, they're skillets, so there isn't much to judge as most skillets are very similar and hard to mess up. The service was great, we were checked on quite a few times during our meal, with our waters being filled without having to ask. We would definitely eat here again if we're passing through Crystal Lake.“
“Very friendly service and great burgers. Had been looking forward to coming here for a long time and finally made it. We were sat in a reasonable time for a busy Friday evening. Good selection of food choices. Can't wait to come back.“
“Coco was our waitress and she was Awesome! We will definitely be coming here again. She was friendly, made conversation, and despite being busy didn’t keep us waiting. Very great experience.Parking: Was sort of crowded but was pretty easily able to find a spot.“
“Jasmine was a wonderful waitress! Kept our glasses filled. I had the veggie flatbread which was loaded with vegetables. My friend had the open faced salmon sandwich with Caesar salad side and she loved it. Considering it was busy with spring break and the bowling and bocce were full, it was not noisy.“
“This has become our favorite place to eat out. The food is so flavorful and different from a regular sandwich shop. Also, we are able to bring our dog with us and get him his own doggy meal. They don’t have the dog meals on the menu but they are available. They really should put a sign on the counter or a wall about them. Everything is served in a dog bowl which fits with the theme of the place. They have a wide variety of foods to choose from. I am currently trying to eat my way through the whole menu! The atmosphere is like a park. Some of the tables have swings to sit on. There is a little “grassy” area with giant Jenga and giant Connect Four games to keep the kids entertained. I love the huge wall mural which shows lots of cute dogs picnicking in a park. The staff is very nice and helpful. My whole family, including the dogs, love eating here!Parking: It is located in an open air mall so there is plenty of parking.Kid-friendliness: Swing seats available at some tables. Giant games for them to play on the grassy area.“
“Absolutely fantastic establishment. The aesthetic here is comfortable and classic / medieval. The staff are all friendly and engaging. The original architecture houses a bar downstairs and upstairs with a buffet. The bartender, Scott, was knowledgeable and friendly. He explained that the downstairs bar was the original architecture of the establishment with the main floor buffet being the old upper floor home of the previous owners. This establishment is family owned and has been around since the '70sRecent renovation has brought a castle aesthetic from outside.Everything is updated (modernized checkout, tap pay, etc) but it has kept it's classic feel. All ingredients are made in house, to include sauces, seasonings, pizzas, and a diverse menu that can be modified to your liking.Aside from the menu you can eat at the buffet style eatery on the main floor. The main floor encompasses a family-friendly area with arcade games. The absolute ONLY downside to this place is the parking lot. While being rustic and brick layed, it does not bode well for vehicles without adequate clearance from various potholes. So Don't bring your lowered Honda Civic.“
