“We have been coming here for a while, and almost stopped coming at all. Just because they didn’t have tap beer for like a month and we kept on asking, and kept saying next Friday, next Friday but nothing. The only reason we keep on coming has to do with Aaron and Armando, those two guys really know how to treat you right and give you a proper service, these guys really make sure your drinks are perfect, and they run back and forth to the kitchen if you need anything. If you come here and they are bartending you’ll have a good experience.“
“We were a party of 6 people, tried the black croquettes, corn Madeleine, the vegetables , the fried chicken and the salt. Everything was delicious. Cocktails were very good too. The service was a bit long but at the same time, it is pleasant to not be rushed in a restaurant and to have time to eat your plates without anyone asking you every 5 min if you were done.I will definitely be back“
“I love this place! The chicken Marsala is incredible! We also had eggplant roll acting as an appetizer, linguine with clams,gnocchi and manicotti! All great and we all have dinner for tomorrow! Service is great and always like talking to the owner, who makes you feel like you are his personal guests! Only suggestion for improvement is to assign the waitstaff to one area! This happened last time too. The servers are running all over! Be a little kinder to them. They work so hard!“
“I’ve been here many times and have always had good food and good service. The menu changes based on the seasons though a few options are always on the menu. I’ve never had a bad meal here. The duck is very good, but they have excellent fish and vegetarian options. Once, service was slow, and they comped us a pasta they brought to us while we waited for what we had ordered and the dessert we ordered at the end. Which brings me to the other positive of Duck Inn and that’s the service. I’ve never had bad service here. The Duck Inn is a special place and reflects well on the Chicago food scene.“
“My wife and I have never been to a Michelin star restaurant and now that we live in Chicago, we had plenty of options. For our second baby moon we decided to treat ourselves to an experience at El Ideas. The whole experience was amazing! The location is really unassuming and not in some pretentious building or area. It was such a laid back yet exquisite experience. Guests were allowed to wonder the space and take in the food preparation. You could ask questions of the chefs. It was really neat and nothing like I've ever experienced. Since there are a limited number of reservations the entire staff is really attune to guests needs. I have no complaints about any of the dishes. Some of the standout dishes were the shrimp dish which was an ode to the history of Chicago fried shrimp. The Swedish style meatball cooked in smoked beef tallow with gnocchi was so well balanced. The smoked duck bahn mi and smoke duck pho was amazing . The Lamb dish was out of this world! I'm still in awe of the vanilla shake and fries dessert. It was truly a work of art. The vanilla with the crunchy potato bits and potato and leak soup just worked. I could take one of those every day. This experience is definitely worth it! I hope to be back in the future!“
“Love the vibe of this place! Great selection of wine. Nice music in the background, a dj was setting up as we were leaving. Definitely gets crowded after 8pm.Staff is exceptionally accommodating! Shout out to Holly the manager for being so personable and understanding when we had to tweak our reservation.The menu is not extensive andddd a little pricey for the portions that you get, however presentation and taste was good, you pay to be in a nice atmosphere!Highly recommend.Parking: Limited parking on Cottage, May have to park on side streets“
“Alulu is great, they have two floor levels, and an outdoor patio. They have a lot of themed nights like chess night, video game night, etc. They have daily food specials and a solid happy hour. They brew different types of beer and have solid cocktails too! It's also really friendly, everyone who works here is awesome and their patio is dog friendly.“
“Oh my gosh!! This is the most amazing place ever. We had fantastic service, fantastic food and such a wonderful time. The food just goes beyond words. I can’t even describe how delicious it is. If you want to have an incredible dining experience, you need to stop in. Our waiter was Don and he did an absolutely perfect job. The hostess greeted us immediately with a pleasant smile and a very polite and professional attitude. Our waiter Don was Very attentive to our needs and very knowledgeable about the specials and everything on the menu. I can’t say enough about our experience. What a reward.
