“This one has a history ? one of a kind the old fashioned way, just to get that hot dog or feeling bringing you back in time ,yes no matter how far or the way you look they smile and give you that hot dog with fresh cut of fries oh yes!! Let's not forget that hot tamales ? lol.. it's a simple place that just make you feel good that bite of that hot dog is worth it also ? don't forget to smile ?.“
“Best Sandwiches around - Steak Sandwich - Shish Kabob Sandwich - Italian Sausage or beef or combo you cannot go wrong - Mike and family are the best people. The fries are fresh cut and does the double fry so crispy outside and fluffy and soft inside.“
“Juiciest burger in Illinois! I've never been to Au Cheval, but several people have told me that paradise pups burger tops Cheval. The bun is tasty, patties are fresh, and the sauce is out of this world. Parking is a bit cramped and be prepared to wait but these burgers are WORTH IT!“
“I am an Italian beef enthusiast. Possibly even an aficionado. This was perfection. Perfect beef - awesome giardiniera. Maybe the best I've ever had on both counts. Lean, tasty, and juicy and the hots were fresh tasting and vibrant. Supreme tamales - as good as Tom Toms, old brand. Necessity for an old school beef place. Actual cut potatoes for fries! Italian ice solid. The owners were there (husband / wife) when we visited, which was very nice. I wish this was near to me because I'd probably never go to another beef place again!“
“The best Beef and home made Italian ice in the Chicago area. A novelty that has been around a long time. Nothing fancy, worth the trip. I would take my out of town friends and family here looking for a Chicago beef sandwich. They always make sure you get a decent size beef that’s “
“Mickey's is always great. Service is always quick and friendly. We love the hot dogs, pizza puffs, Italian beef and sausage, polish sausage and more.Kid-friendliness: No explicit kids menu but they have kid friendly options like chicken tenders and grilled cheese (and of course hot dogs) which my kids love.“
“Best Italian beef in the city. I come here because I was told they don’t dip the sausage in the Italian beef juice which is great because I want to enjoy an Italian beef without worrying about consuming pig juice.Quick friendly service, definitely worth trying if you are in the area.“
“If you are visiting Illinois you have to try this place . The beef and fries are the best ! I'm from Chicago I've tried many beef's . This is better than Portillos .. the beef is seasoned well ! The bread is so fresh ! The staff are very nice and pleasant work as a team . I'm not a spicy person and some may think it's spicy, it's not to me at all . It's delicious and well cooked .“
“My car smelled like hot dog for 4 days after a friend ate one in my car. I thought maybe he hid a weiner in my air vent as a prank because of how strong it smelled or something but turns out they just have very smelly wieners to the point where I had to leave all my doors open overnight to air out my car. I strongly advise to resist the urge to endulge in your car and wait until you’re in a well ventilated area before consumption. Hot dogs 10/10“
“Kong Dog is a unique take on a hot dog and very creative. We had the Cheetos and Potatoes half and half dog. Both were fresh, tasted good and had incredible cheese pull from the cheese portion. It is certainly a speciality kind of a place rather than a quick stop in for a "regular" meal however.“
“i have had johnny b's gyros, burgers and broasted chicken (which is sorely missed) before and all were great BUT today i tried the chicken pita and it was the BOMB! so delicious. my husband had the combo with cheese, he wasn't too crazy about it.“
“I hadn't been here in about 15+ years. Finally came back. Ordered a sweet beef, hot beef, chicken tenders, & fries for $30. Everything was great! Prices are pretty low given the crazy inflation going on right now. Quick service. Will definitely be back“
“First. Let me just say that ive been coming to that area for years and never knew that thjs place existed.. I went through drive-thru (a bit quirky but doable), received my food (the order was correct), got to my destination (east of Manheim rd) the food was still hot. That hot dog and fries was delicious. Next week, im trying the beef.“
“These fries are solid. So solid I almost ate the cardboard box they came in. A little pricey, but they give you a mountain of potatoes and toppings so they’re worth it in my opinion. I had the chili cheese fries and the fries stayed mostly crispy all the way through. I put a little hot sauce on em and well…you see the result. My gf had the elote fries piled up with corn, cotija, sour cream and that seasoning ?! I’m not sure how they don’t have a line out the door everyday.“
“I have been going here for a few years now. I Wasn't one for doing reviews, but I decided I will start with the places that are exceptional. Scooby is small inside, but everything about the food is worth it. The fries are amazing, once I tried the ribs I had them straight for the next 5 times I went in there. Pete the owner cuts the ribs in individual pieces then puts them on the grill to crisp them up, OMG fire! I am also addicted to the strawberry shake.“
“careful when ordering from here the foods so good they're gonna end up taking all my money ? the amount of fries they give you is crazy I rather go here than a five guys restaurant ANY day . hope this place never changes I live on the south side but I'm definitely going to try everything on their menu .“
“this place is awesome, i have gone her my whole life and the food has never changed in quality, it is amazing. the owner and his wife give amazing service and are always extremely nice. this place overall is perfect and it goes to show that the size of things does not matter but the inside of things does.“
“It's Mickey's on Manheim, accept no substitutes. The building is from the '50 and it's beautiful. If You don't know where it is, beat it tourist. This is for us; Natives. The flight has been delayed and I don't want to sit on the shoulder with the four ways on - Mickey's. Oh crap,I missed lunch; Mickey's. Snow is flying and the traffic will not move - Mickey's. You get the picture.“
“I'm from out of town so this was the first and probably only time I'll go here. Food is appropriately priced and portions were a good size. Bring a bib as the Signature "Super Dawg" was loaded to the brim with what I could only describe as showered in accoutrements. I could barely pick the thing up, but it was great!Fries were tasty as well. If only I were a local this would be on the repeater list for sure.Parking: Park where you want. There is a menu and ordering capabilities at every spot.“
“This place reminds me of and old time hot dog stand. In nice weather you can sit outside at picnic tables and have lunch. Prices are very reasonable. they have a small menu which I like. I believe the sandwiches or dogs come with a hefty amount of fries.“
“Had no idea this hidden gem was in the back of H Mart until I got done checking out! The egg, ham, and cheese toast was AMAZING! The egg was fluffy and creamy. Such a simple sandwich, but very well made. You only see these type of food on the street in S.Korea, glad someone brought the idea over. I can see this place being a big hit, a must try! Can't wait to try the rest of their menu.“
“Was in the area and had to make a stop back to Mochinut. The flavors this week looked really good. I love the texture and chewiness of these donuts. They are light and not overly sweet. We enjoyed the original glazed and churro at the store. My sister was expecting the glazed to be a sugar rush. But to her surprise it wasn't too sweet, but perfect! She had her first mochiball and loved the strawberry filling. Great little after noon treat to enjoy with hot tea on this frigid cold weekend!“
“Wow Scoobys has got to be one of the greatest hot dog places in my area. Every time I walk in there I get the aroma of French fries in the air. I never know what to order but I usually get a beef and cheese. But their Chicago hot dogs are delicious too. Wash it down with a green river and you might not want to eat again for days.“
“The ultimate Chicago experience. Portillo's gets it right all the time. Real charbroiled hamburger cooked right to achieve that maillard effect, topped with melty yellow cheese, fresh purple onions, tomato and lettuce or try the Chicago style hotdog with that distinctive lime green relish, sport peppers, onions mustard and Portillo seasoning in a poppy seed bun. Whatever you choose to eat at any of their Chicagoland locations, you can't go wrong. Also, the chocolate cake is velvety, moist, but not overly sweet.“
“Always a good, and totally proper, Chicago Dog at Portillo's. Fantastic food and service, every single time.Vegetarian options: This place is clearly for meat eaters... and it's fantastic!Parking: No problems.Wheelchair accessibility: Easy accessibility.“
“No frills location in a strip center. The staff was friendly and it was clean for a "hole in the wall" type place. There are quite a few menu options.I with with a Chicago dog, fries, and drink and it was less than 10 bucks. You can't beat that. The fries were cooked enough to not be wimpy, another few seconds in the fryer would have been perfect. Well seasoned, and you get a huge order. The dog was perfect. I'd put it up against the more well known places in the Chicago area. Bun was soft, seasoning spot on, and the veggies fresh.“
“OK, so we wanted authentic Chicago dogs or Polish dogs and Bob-O's was highly recommended on Yelp. I am SO glad we went there. We had a Polish that was grilled with grilled onions and sport peppers. It was absolutely fantastic. We also order something I would never see outside of Chicago...a tamale on a bun prepared just like a regular Chicago dog with onions, mustard, pickles and tomatoes. It was great if strange. I would love to go back if I didn't live 2000 miles away.“
“I have passed by this place for years and finally stopped by. Went with a gyro sandwich from the drive thru. The pita was soft, crispy and warm. The gyro meat was just right, at least for me. Cut very thin and was very tender. Lots of it and delish. I will be back to try their other food. Service from the drive thru was good. It does take a few minutes as the sandwich was cooked when ordered.“
“Was near Roma's and haven't stopped by in a long time, wanted a good Italian beef, say no more. Definitely a great Chicago Neighborhood Vibe...One of Owner's was taking orders...Asked what I was in the mood for, "I said, a million bucks!" He said " Me too!"We laughed & dreamed...ordered the 6" Italian Beef with Sweet Peppers. Never mentioned whether I wanted dry or baptized, but gave me a perfect sandwich. I could handle the bun without worrying it would fall apart, not that I don't mind, but would need additional napkins. Certainly hit the spot, looking forward to trying their pizza next time...Looked delicious. "El Stool Presidente" would give it an 8.1, I'm sure! Cheers & Mangia!“
“Curiosity is going to win me over 100% of the time. Such is with this place today.Ate the sweet nacho bat and I was pleasantly surprised. It is quite good.It is on my way to the Jefferson Park blue line for work. I will be coming here more often to try the other flavors and teas/slushies ❤️You guys should check this place out.You won't regret it ?Vegetarian options: They have plant based sausage (which I'm gonna try next)“
“Came here for another corn dog. My wife and really Luke the original kong dog with half beef and half cheese, so we got 4 of them. The corn dogs are good, I just wished the stick wasn't so long. Every time you take your first bite, you will bite into the stick. Otherwise, everything is good here.“
“Great Chicago style American food. Been here twice now and havent been disappointed yet. Large helpings at really competitive prices for everything from Italian beefs, gyros, Chicago Dogs, Chili Cheese Dogs, Cheeseburgers, French fries, ice cream shakes, and sodas. Comparable to like a Portillos restaurant-type menu. Service and cook time is fast. Great for walking in and getting an order to go in under 15 minutes. Small but cozy place if you want to dine in. Sometimes it gets a little crowded with the to-go order people waiting on food. But the mid century decorations and outdoor patio are great atmosphere for dining in too. I recommend checking out the combo specials written in chalk on the wall for the best combo meal deals. Will definitely come back.Vegetarian options: There are vegetarian options, finding vegan choices may be more difficult. See the menu.Kid-friendliness: Very much a family place. I always see families with little kids when I go here. Little kids are welcome and encouraged.Parking: If you can't find a spot on the street, there is a parking lot just behind the building.Wheelchair accessibility: It's wheel chair accessible for entry, but it may be difficult navigating a wheel chair around inside. It's a cozy space.“
“Great little no frills fast food place. Very friendly staff serving up the chicago basics like burgers and dogs. Their fresh cut fries are awesome. Recommended!Parking: Free parking out back...but it is a rather small lot.Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, seems like it would be easily accessible by wheelchair“
“Pete planned a great lunch for our teachers! We had a variety of wraps, salads, and chips/salsa/guac. Everyone loved the food and Pete made the ordering and pick up extremely easy! Will definitely be ordering from Little Louie's again soon!“
“Super friendly and clean the food was great and even if you don't speak polish there are photos everywhere to help you order... I'd recommend the kebab if you're very hungry or if you're looking for something a bit lighter than the Zapiekanka is the way to go... And please don't forget to tip!“
“Nothing special about the dining area, but dining room is clean and the food is solid. I had the Double Cheeseburger Special which includes Fries and a medium Drink. Quality ingredients, burgers cooked perfectly, fresh shredded lettuce, tomato slices, dill pickle and mustard. Add your own ketchup or whatever. It's the little extra touches which can make a burger special. Donald's toasts the bun! Fries were perfect, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and perfectly salted. My wife had the Gyros Special, and she loved the extra onions and the generous sauce. The meat is tasty, and the pita is toasted. Solid gyros! I'm eating in the restaurant on a frigid evening and while the dining room is not full, there is a steady stream of customers coming through. The young lady taking our order is friendly, courteous, attentive and unlike 90% of young people who work in food service! Donald's is a winner!“
“The best Gyro I have ever had. :)I was immediately greeted by a super friendly staff and just by ordering I knew it was going to be delicious and it definitely was. I eat a lot of food and this definitely filled me up Plus for a great price. I am definitely coming here again, I'll even go out of my way and definitely would bring my family. Very happy I went here!!! Thanks again!!!!!!“
“I got the gyros and it was good just I wish they put more salt on it and the fries with a drink but everything was fresh and hot. I think I paid 15 or $16 so the meals were up there with more expensive. The cashiers are nice and do the service quick.“
“Let me point out one key detail to why the hotdogs are so good at u dog u. Take a really good look at the photos that I’ve posted. you see that end of that hotdog you see how it’s twisted you see how it overhangs the bun well those are all great signs. Have a wonderful delicious hotdog. Also, I would like to point out the toppings sauerkraut ,sport peppers. These are the two things that we really should have on every single Chicago style hotdog and the only ketchup you see insight is on them fries and let me say ,them fries were crispy delicious warm in the center just the way you expected crinkle cut fries to be. they have mastered the art of the Chicago style hotdog and the crinkle cut fry.Parking: It’s certain times of a day it might be a little difficult to get a prime spot so you might have to walk about 25 to 50 feet to the door but man is that walk worth it and you’re gonna need it once you leave because the food is so damn good!Wheelchair accessibility: All the tables are wheelchair height and all the chairs can be moved to accommodate anyone in a wheelchair“
“The coke machines seemed to be running out of syrup but other than that food was greatThey gave us a lot of fries which is well appreciated, we’re talking a cup and another cup in the bagThe workers were pretty nice food did take a bit for an empty restaurant at the time but it wasn’t anything too significant“
“We were introduced to Portillo's in 2020. Our first time visiting Chicago. We make it a point to go every time we visit now. The Portillo's Dog (aka Chicago Dog) is a family favorite. They put all sorts of toppings like tomato, a pickle spear, sport peppers, and more on top of an all beef hot dog wrapped in a steamed poppy seed roll. It's amazing! The Maxwell Street Polish is another favorite. A smoked Polish kielbasa covered with grilled onions and mustard. DELICIOUS! Lastly, their homemade chocolate cake is decadent. Moist and full of rich chocolate flavor. Make sure you try a slice if you like chocolate cake.“
“My family and I have been going to Goodi's for years! Great Greek style fresh food. Their spanakopita (spinach pie) is so special! Delicious chicken kebab, Italian Beef, Gyros, and salads always fresh and good quality. Family owned with wonderful staff especially Angie who greets me by name. Highly recommend this local gem!“
“Have been wanting to try this place for months after driving past it many times on Roosevelt. Why it doesn’t have more business is beyond me! Was greeted by the best dude, Abrar, who tended to my party super well. He gave great recommendations with the highlights being the Ahmed Fries Masala with sauce, and the Fireball Burger. Everyone working was super kind and welcoming. Bring your friends and your friends’ friends to this joint, it’s too good not to have tons of business. Abrar, you’re the man!“
“Been coming here for almost 20yrs, and not once have they disappointed. My kids got to to taste Jeff's when they were still in mommas tummy.... and still we continue to make it a tradition for some good ole hit dogs/burgers and my favorite "Gyros"....We definitely miss Jeff greeting us at the door as he used to ???“
“Nice, clean little place with cheap prices and cool dog names. It's got a "hip" vibe going on and everyone was friendly enough.I got a Jumbo Chicago dog. It was good, with a nice char. All the elements seem to be there. Not quite sure what separates it from the best dogs but there's just a little something missing.I give it 3.75999 stars, rounded up to four.“
“Best-looking staff anywhere around!! The guys here are ???They make the greatest food even tho they look like male models. Very nice place. My sister comes in from out of town just to come eat here and watch the good-looking tall guy. 10 out of 10 for the food and the “
“I have lived in this area now for a year and literally I go to this place two times a week I absolutely love the winking dog and I love my tomato Rosemarie soup and the manager there even if they’re not serving it he makes it for me they are awesome people there the food is awesome I have never ever not one time had a bad meal from there and I’ve ate there over 50 times in a year!!! I even bring my grandkids and my family when they come to visit as our go to restaurant. I also love to go and get a cup of soup have a voice water and play the slots I’m always lucky on the slots there the slots are lucky there!!!!“
“I was impressed with this place. Had traditional AND veggie dogs! Not over priced by today's standards. If I am back in the Chicago area I would definitely go back.Vegetarian options: They have veggie dogs!! Yay.Kid-friendliness: Wasn't loud and obnoxious. Cool stuff on walls.“
“First time at Snappy Dog and I love it. I love a good hot dog and I wasn't disappointed nor was I disappointed with their fries. Very friendly service and quick and the prices were pleasantly low for the amount I bought. I will be definitely going back.“
“I love when I get food that’s super Duper hot and I have to wait for it to pull off a little before I eat it. Everything tasted fresh considering it’s just a corndog. But very delicious toppings and the Kong fries were great. This is my favorite fast food.Parking: Clean ??Wheelchair accessibility: It’s a mall totally open. We parked in a handicap parking space right next to entrance ??“
