“One of my favorite desserts/snacks of all time - shaved ice with red beans (bingsu) topped with ice cream, mochi and fruit. Perfect summer time dish. There was a concern that this place wasn't going to able to make it through the pandemic. But they reconfigured their interior and managed to survive. Now they offer food items in addition to bubble teas and shaved ice. Their food, on the other hand, was inconsistent at best. While tofu bowl was decent, ramen was simply a stored-bought ramen put in a bowl. You'd have to pay extra if you want additional items. To charge $10 for that is... not cool.“

As newcomers to the area from the Pacific Northwest, we've been eager to explore different styles of pizza, including deep dish and more. Not only is it reasonably priced, but the fun and inventive flavors, like cacio e pepper, added an exciting twist we hadn't tried before. The leftover slices even made for a perfect Sunday breakfast. There were so many vegan options that I bared the cold trying to make a decision. I settled on the vegan brownie. The staff were all friendly and processed orders quickly. My mother and I talk for at least two minutes about the layout and design of the plated food before diving in and being even more amazed by the flavor combinations. My favorite menu item is the Merengue Roulette, a gluten-free merengue with mascarpone pistachio cream, raspberry jam, baked almond, and whole pistachios.For such well-crafted and well-balanced dishes, the wait time is not long, usually not exceeding 10 minutes. Although the place is typically always filled with people all customers are respectful of the noise level and it is quiet and serene. Great place to work or catch up with a friend!“

I haven't seen it since in the pastry case, but I can still taste its awesomeness in my mouth and hope it will one day return. Everything here is so moist and magical. For me, what sets Mindy's Bakery apart from other bakeries, and makes it clear why Mindy won the Beard award for Outstanding Chef in the US, is that Mindy and crew are always working to improve their craft, always using quality ingredients and making better versions of things all the time and I respect this so much. Also, when you come in through the door, you can see everyone behind the counter, working hard, baking during open hours, and helping you pick things out of the big case in front. They are awesome. If you're from out of town, know there's rarely a line out the door on Wed, Thurs or Fri, but Sat and Sun are busy, so do what I do and bring your kindle or paper to read while you wait in line. It is always worth the wait.“

Dokil 독일 means German/Germany in Korean, and the sign reminded me of one of my favorite Kdramas Reply 1988.This store is a cute neighborhood bakery that sells delicious Korean breads, some with cream fillings. The bread tastes fresh and homemade, and it's priced reasonably. The owner is also very friendly and welcoming.They makecakes to order as well, so next time I have a special occasion I'll try ordering from New Dokil Bakery.I like to support local businesses over international franchises, and I'm impressed that they have been in operation for over forty years!“

“What a great addition to the neighborhood. My brother-in-law recommended this bakery and I ordered my parents 40th wedding anniversary cake from them. The cake was beyond our expectations. Jorge(the owner) suggested few changes and it worked in our favor. He customized it with edible gold leafs. I highly recommend them and will definitely order from them next time.
