“Stopped by here for the first time and we were pleasantly surprised. The ingredients and flavors were definitely Italian, but had a Mexican twist. For example, the Piadas are a wrap sandwich, but they also have “Piadadillas” which were the piadas in the form of a quesadilla. The food was tasty and fresh and the service was good. But the main thing I liked was that they offer something new and different. Prices were very reasonable also. Oh, and they brought a basket of Italian bread and piada chips with dipping oil when you sit down.“
“"North Italia is a fantastic Italian restaurant with delicious food and excellent service. The atmosphere is welcoming and open, although it can be a bit loud with limited privacy. The waiters are always friendly and helpful, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. Overall, I highly recommend it and would give it a five-star rating!“
“I remember many years ago that Minsky's was my favorite and I hadn't had one for quite some time and I was afraid that maybe they had changed something. Pleasantly surprised to learn that nothing had changed and it was just as good as ever.“
“We had Garozzo’s cater our rehearsal dinner at Boulevard Brewing. From the very beginning they were extremely helpful getting the entire dinner together. They held a tasting at their restaurant downtown, where we were able to sample a lot of their different courses on their catering menu. This was a great way to find exactly what we wanted for our rehearsal dinner. The food was absolutely fantastic and they were constantly in touch with us through the entire process. They kept us up to date through the event. We highly recommend Garozzo’s to anyone needing any event catered.“
“We seem to get stuck in a rut of hitting the chain Italian. This was a great experience. It's probably the best alfredo and chicken parmesan we have ever had.The Italian peach tea was also good. It was light, refreshing, and not too sweet. We will definitely be back to try other dishes.“
“My family and I just had the most wonderful food and service at Ricco's. We had the calamari, basil tomato soup, Caesar Salad, BLT sandwich, chicken parmigiana, shrimp scampi, and shrimp/mushroom risotto. No one left dissatisfied. The restaurant clean and quaint and the staff attentive at all levels. I wish I could remember the name of our waitress so I could give her a direct shout out but she was a breath of fresh air from all the sub-par service experiences we've had lately. Thank you Ricco's for a wonderful evening with my family!“
“At the moment I have to say favorite place in KC. So rare to find staff that love their job and deliver excellent service. Amazing food, drinks, and experience. Reminds me of something I’d find in a place like South Beach (and would be 4 times the price there :)“
“Work brings me to another amazing dining experience with Maggiano’s Little Italy. This place is really nice. Upscale beautiful restaurant with fantastic food. The stuffed mushrooms were the best I’ve ever had, cooked to perfection with a garlic pesto stuffing and butter sauce. The blackened salmon was perfect. The relish they add to the top is spicy and tangy but just enough to complement the salmon. The bed of mashed potatoes were so creamy and rich. The crusted shrimp added another highlight to an amazing dish.“
“I really enjoy the food here… But almost every single time they forget to include my Parmesan Packets… So I have to unwrap each order or ask each time… However, that said… Mike did a very good job of putting my order together and the food is always excellent! Thank youParking: Plenty of spots!“
“Big Belly's catered a baby shower I was hosting this past weekend. They went above and beyond. The food was amazing! Everyone was asking where it was from. Thank you to Josh and his team for making such great stuff. And you were right, the Italian fingers were a huge hit.“
“From the moment we stepped into Ragazza Food & Wine, we had a warm embrace of hospitality that marked the beginning of a truly delightful dining experience! As a first-time guest, I found the staff to be exceptionally welcoming, attending to my needs with a level of care that was both refreshing and commendable. The ambiance of Ragazza strikes a rare balance between elegance and comfort, crafting a cozy atmosphere that invites diners to relax and savor their time. The lasagna, a centerpiece of their culinary offerings, was great—layered with rich flavors that spoke to the restaurant's commitment to authentic Italian cuisine. A word to the wise: securing a reservation is advisable. Ragazza's allure is no well-kept secret, and a planned visit ensures a more seamless experience. While the vibrant buzz of conversation adds to the restaurant's charm, it can crescendo to a level that challenges tableside chatter as it was a bit noisy. Additionally, while not a dealbreaker, the absence of complimentary bread was a noted departure from tradition. Despite these minor things, Ragazza left an indelible impression on us. It's a gem that beckons us for repeat visits, and I am already looking forward to my next trip there!“
“This was our first time trying this place. We usually have to drive a ways to get to a quality Italian restaurant but this place is it!! It's carry out only which is fine with me. OMG, very impressed!!! My wife loves lasagna and is very picky so I was reluctant but she thought it was marvelous! I had the swedishish meatballs in garlic cream sauce and it was unbelievable!! Portions are big, delicious, and reasonably priced. We'll definitely be going back!“
“BP is a very nice, cozy, well thought out local Italian restaurant. I love the ambiance, lighting, and overall layout. The staff was very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. Overall, I don't view BP as a destination restaurant. I wasn't overly wowed by the food overall, but it was solid at every turn. The fococcia was the one standout. If I lived nearby I'd probably visit a couple times a year. Nice date night spot.“
“The cheese lasagna with sauce is delicious! I get it delivered for lunch often. Comes with a roll and butter. There is a meat sauce option, I haven't tried that yet because I'm just obsessed with my original order. If you have a sweet tooth like me, a fresh brownie from here is rich and chocolatey heaven!“
“Love Johnnys, always come here when visiting family in KC. We love the small atmosphere the wait staff is always very friendly and helpful and always refills the drinks quickly. The food is great, the pasta has a great taste and is so tasty. Haven't had a bad meal, and been coming for quite a few years.“
“Good Mac and cheese place. We got the BBQ Mac which was of course super good. The BBB Mac which had SO MUCH bacon, it was a bit sweeter but still really good especially with all the bacon. And we got the fried Mac bites. Those were decent. Breading was super good on the and super crispy.Place is small with limited seating. Defiantly designed for the corporate clientele in the area. Self serv kiosk to order and looked to be one person behind making the food. He was supper apologetic of the wait (we didn’t wait long. Maybe 10 min). Nice little quick bite but better as take out instead of sitting to eat.“
“We attended a wine/food paring dinner and everything was delicious! The wine selection was great....we came home with a few bottles of new wine. Avery, Hannah and their team are wonderful. So friendly and accommodating, you feel like family when you dine here!“
“Don't tell anyone. This place is fantastic!!! Neighborhood italian masterpiece. Spiedeini di Pollo is the best in KC. My wife had the Lobster Spiedeini. Both came with saffron risotto. Tiramisu is to die for. This place has an atmosphere that is wonderful. Very intimate. Wine and drinks are great.“
“Pi Day has always been an excuse for me to enjoy some good pizza. A few years ago, though, my celebration was less than ideal when I ended up with a burnt pizza that wasn't at all what I had hoped for. Despite that mishap, I've continued to celebrate Pi Day, always in search of better experiences. The restaurant was busy, which meant my pizza took a bit longer to prepare than expected. They offered to make up for the wait with a complimentary slice of tiramisu. The tiramisu was an unexpected and delightful bonus. When my pizza finally arrived, the prosciutto mushroom pizza did not disappoint. The combination of flavors was well-balanced, and the pizza was cooked just right, a satisfying meal that made this year's Pi Day memorable. The ambiance made the dining experience feel like I had stepped out of Kansas City and into a small Italian eatery. Can't wait to come back. 4.5 stars.“
“My wife and I were fortunate to dine for the first time at Plate as guest of a 40 person wedding rehearsal group. The quality of food, cocktails and service was excellent. Management's training of staff was obvious. Staff was attentive and professional. Observation......the appearance of the serving and management surpassed many of the customers. I can't believe what people will wear to an elegant dining experience. I highly recommend Plate.“
“We ordered Jovito's to be delivered having never visited before. There were tons of options that sounded incredible, and we ended up with two Panini's and one grinder. my sister and I subbed the chips for Parmesan potatoes and my mom ordered a side salad as well. Each of the sandwiches was delicious, especially my chicken pesto sandwich. I'm pretty picky about chicken on sandwiches and hate when chicken is even remotely rubbery, but this was very good. I was a little disappointed that the Parmesan potatoes were, in fact, just tots with Parmesan cheese on top. I was hoping for something more like fingerling potatoes, and I wouldn't have paid the charge if I knew this was the case. My mom side salad was excellent with a ton of delicious toppings. Overall while our food was very good, I don't think I would justify paying over $80 for a meal like this again.“
“Ate here on a recommendation while visiting KC from out of state. Incredible food, and a buffet no less. "Worth it." would be an understatement. Went to Cinzetti's because I was already going to the zoo and it was there. In hindsight, I would go to the zoo because I was already going to Cinzetti's and it was there. Can't stop thinking about it.“
“We were apart of a large team dinner after a long day of soccer. Pizza was ready soon after arriving and they were super friendly. Staff came over often to talk to my kids and offer them samples of other things. Free arcade games were a big hit.“
“My first time dining here was great! Everyone's food came out HOT, not warm. The drinks could've been a little stronger but that's personal preference. We came in after shopping at Menards and to our surprise everyone we saw were dressed in "comfortable clothes", so we didn't feel like we had to be dressed up. The atmosphere was laid back. Our waitress, Chelsea, was amazing. I would definitely request to sit her section The next time I visit!“
“The first bite of the mushroom doughnuts with taleggio sauce sealed my positive review of @bar.medici in pen. This chewy not-quite-doughnut-texture bread bite is dusted with umami and dunked in the highest end of "cheese dips." 11/10. Worth going here for the cocktails and this. The salad escarole was great too though: one of those dishes that tastes like each individual ingredient at its peak, with plenty of salt and deep fried bacon bits. The spaghetti a la chittara was good: delicate, perfectly cooked noodles, the right hint of crab, and the Aleppo pepper dust on top is brilliant. I would have taken a bit more creaminess/sauce (I am a sauce girl, after all). The gelato was so much better (and bigger) than I expected. It's indescribably creamy as only the best European gelatos are and the flavor is at 11. The pistachio gelato isn't so much pistachio-flavored cream as it is a ball of creamy, cold, intense pistachio flavor. So good, but the toasted marshmallow was even better: a few crumbles of graham cracker to give crunch to the perfectly smooth gelato. 10/10 The cocktails were wonderful. On par with the other members of this restaurant/bar group with creative flavor pairings and beautiful presentation. I think my favorite was the Tribune (rye, gin, fig, thyme, cider), which the server said was oddly like a Jack and Coke (and she was right). We also had the focaccia, which was just ok (I would have rather had 3 more doughnuts!), the beef tartare (which I couldn't taste any of the truffle or egg yolk in, so it wasn't really as rich as I hoped), the sword fish (perfectly cooked but the sauce is really the star -- you could just eat the greens and sauce and it would hold all of its appeal), and a lovely little roulette of beef in a spicy tomato based sauce. Service was attentive (beware, they'll take your plate before you finish swiping up the yummy sauce!), and we didn't feel rushed at all. We also got plenty to eat and didn't spend quite as much as I expected (I expected the $$$$, haha).“
“For the price it's hard to beat the amount of food you get at Anthony's. My wife and I enjoyed our dinner here- since we arrived during a thunderstorm the restaurant was empty when we arrived. It filled up some as we dined but can't imagine it's hard to get a table on a Friday night. Italian food normally isn't my favorite but I enjoyed my chicken spiedini immensely. I also liked the KC jazz appetizer to dip the delicious bread in. We will definitely be back!“
“Calamari was really salty. We sent it back. They were very cordial and took it off the check.Mark's Chicken Parmesan was good (3 out of 5) but the chicken was really dry.I had the Shrimp Fettuccine. It was bland. I took most of it home and "Leah-ized" it the next evening. Much better!!Our girl, Joy, was Fabulous!! Attentive, yet respectful of our space. Ask for her!Lesson learned...don't go on a Saturday night after 5:30... Unruly, screaming kiddos. Unless, of course, you have kids because you'll feel right at home!!!“
“Italian Gardens, what can I say? I grew up eating at this place. The meatballs in sauce transported me back to when I was child.❤️I truly enjoyed my sub sandwich and my kids loved the pizza. I am glad I was able to show the kids a slice of my childhood. Thanks John David. It was. Pleasure meet you.“
“I'm from New York. Mama Leones is the only place in town that has true authentic New York style pizzas. The owner and his crew are great. They were super kind to a handicapped person while I was there. Great food and caring workers. Thanks guys!!!“
“We recently hosted my son’s rehearsal dinner at Lidia’s and we were so thrilled with everything. Terra, the event coordinator there, was so helpful. She always responded to my emails and phone calls quickly, and when we arrived, everything was set up perfectly and just as we had requested. All of the guests raved about the food and the servers were top-notch. We chose to use the upstairs room, which was so, so beautiful, especially as the sun set. It was the perfect size for our party of just over 40, although I do believe it would hold more people nicely. I would highly recommend Lidia’s!“
“If you are looking for a great option as a late night snack at your wedding then I highly suggest you book with Minsky's Pizza Truck. As a wedding planner, Minsky's made my clients and their guests SO happy to arrive at the end of the night! They were also very easy to work with, were on time, and were very flexible with any changes made. Thank you, Minsky's! -Heather, TPTKC“
“We tried Imo's for the very first time tonight on our way back home. We all loved it, including our tired and picky children. The food was absolutely delicious. The restaurant was clean and looked great. The lady at the front was one of the most pleasant people we have ever met. She was very helpful, patient, and super sweet. We will definitely be back when we're in this part of Missouri.“
“I brought a group of family and friends to Sunday Supper to celebrate my birthday this year. I cannot say enough good things about it. The restaurant is beautiful, the service was great, and the food was phenomenal. It's an incredible deal for the price. We were all very impressed and would love to visit again.“
“The food was decent, definitely pleasant flavors and nice presentation. The stuffed artichoke was excellent! The service was mediocre. Asking for 2 glasses of water was met with 1 glass that was often empty. Mentioned it was a birthday celebration, it was met with the question of if it was on that day, and when told no (2 days prior), the waitress retorted "oh, well happy birthday anyway". There must be some weird thing about it having to be THE birthday day or it doesn't count because we overheard a dad negotiating with another waitress "it's his birthday, I have pictures of the party if you'd like to see them!" but the waitress believed him in hushed tones and brought a desert with a candle in it. Strange. The day was nice and the weirdness was worthy of entertaining conversation so it wasn't a lost opportunity for a good birthday celebration, but we'll probably stick with Bravo! when we're craving Italian next time.“
“We stopped at my favorite Italian restaurant,Jasper's,to celebrate my 72 birthday. They were so gracious and charming. The food was fabulous. The veal & canoli the best I've had in a long, long time. Just like grandma used to make! My date had the Italian sausage. He loved it! The Shrimp Livornese antipasti was sent from heaven! Thanks for making my special day even better!“

“Absolutely unreal! Rosati’s has the best pizza in Overland Park. Even better, they have dietary options. I’m gluten free and they offer cauliflower crust that is absolutely delicious. I always get either their standard cheese pizza, or the cheesy buffalo pizza with chicken and onions. They’re not too saucy, perfect amount of cheese, and the crust is covered with cheese. It’s like a breadstick, so delicious and crispy. I normally have it delivered and they quote 45 minutes, but it always arrives at my door in 20 minutes. I’ll definitely be ordering again!“
“A Delightful Family Dinner at Carmen's CafeLooking for a cozy and delicious Italian meal in Brookside? Look no further than Carmen's Cafe! Our family of five recently enjoyed a wonderful evening there, and I can't wait to share our experience. The atmosphere at Carmen's Cafe is warm and inviting. It's the perfect spot for a relaxed family gathering. We began our meal with some of their famous Italian Butter (definitely a must-try!), bread, and house salads. The salads were a pleasant surprise – unique with artichoke hearts, red onion, and a perfectly balanced Italian dressing. The portion size was just right, with a refreshing ratio of salad to dressing. For our main courses, we opted for a variety of dishes, including chicken spiedini, veal parmesan, and tortellini. Everyone at the table was thoroughly impressed. The meat was cooked to perfection – tender, juicy, and flavorful. The same goes for the sauce, which was rich and delicious. The only minor complaint came from the teenagers, who wished the side of pasta had been a bit larger. Other than that, it was a clean plate night for all!We finished off our meal with a selection of delectable desserts, from spumoni to cheesecake to cannoli. Everything was divine! Our server, Elizabeth, deserves special recognition. She was friendly, attentive, and always there when we needed her. An additional staff member also ensured our drinks were refilled and our plates cleared promptly, making the service seamless.Overall, our dinner at Carmen's Cafe was a fantastic family outing. The food was delicious, the atmosphere charming, and the service excellent. If you're in the Brookside area, I highly recommend giving it a try! Just a heads up – I completely forgot to take pictures of our food until halfway through the meal (trust me, it was that good!), but the photos on Yelp are a great representation of what you can expect.“
“This pizza is absolutely amazing.. I have a low sodium diet and I can eat this!!! Service is amazing had a door dash take forever they called me and waited for the driver 30 min after close! Amazing customer for lifeDietary restrictions: Small thin crust cheese and mushrooms very low sodium“
“great food, but we walked in and sat at the bar. then was told we had to get up and walk back to the front to order anything. 1st strike. then after going through that useless and time consuming exercise in futility (they had a card machine at the bar which I then was rang up on later for another drink, doesn't making everyone wait in line to order take more time? yes, it does. ), sat down back at the bar , and only wine and sangria? maybe you all should try and be a real bar too, it's not hard to make some whiskey drinks and have beers . 2nd strike. But the food is good.“
“So I am a big fan of Plates in brookside, however it's been 2 years since the Leawood location opened and we decided to give it a try .. congratulations to the staff at both locations who make every guests feel like family . Thank you for instill the best customer service in your staff.. Different vibes but the food didn't disappoint! Show them the picture and they can tell you what to order , everything we had was amazing ! I brought a newbie to your restaurant tonight , she loved it ! To Kenny , our waiter , only 3 weeks into the restaurant, I can tell you care deeply about your job and bravo to you to take such good care of us .“
