“Great food!!! Parked at the truckstop next door and came in for a bite. My wife ordered the special, which was lemon pepper fried fish with pasta and a garlic toast. I ordered the fried fish player. It came with 3 huge tenders and fries. Price is on point with the food. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the gentleman behind the counter. I was only going to order to go but the place was extremely clean and just had to sit down and eat. Restrooms were clean to the max with a hit of clean smell. The place was spotless. Food was grilled behind the counter and made fresh. Flavor was on point crispy fish on both plates. Hot and not oily at all. They definitely put attention to everything they do and will be a customer evrytime I'm in the area. Can't wait to try the beans next and a poboy, maybe a burger too while I'm at it. My wife's dish was the past and she said the pasta had shrimp and crayfish too.“
“Hands down, B & J Seafood's crawfish is the best!!! We have been eating their crawfish since the 1990's when they were on St. Claude Avenue. The flavor is not too spicy, not salty it is just right. The lines are always long and you have to order ahead to get it, because it really goes fast. They have not changed the recipe for years and I hope they don't.“
“One thing I dread about eating in fish market that doubles as a restaurant, is the potential of overwhelming fishyness. Now before you come at me, I mean, there's a possibility there'll be not perfectly fresh fish, or they use a lot bleach to clean, or something that smells like you're on a dock. But, I can still do take out. This place, is very clean, no over riding fish smells, staff is super friendly, and you can tell this place is filled with locals. I had an Oyster Po Boy, fully dressed, 6 inch, and it was satisfyingly filling. Oysters were definitely freshly shucked, no hint of bitterness one gets from grocery store, and in the plastic tub. Fries and drink good. I'll stop by again next time I'm passing thru. Parking is plentiful and easy to access. They also do shipping of their seafood.“
“Nice place! Arrived right at opening time, put my order in. They were willing to do my substitution request. Got to talk with the owner while I waited for my food. And the food was good: meaty red beans, moist cornbread, etc. I'd go back again.“
“My initial reaction was "Are you kidding me?" 6 fried catfish fillets, 3/4ths of the take-out container was crawfish fried rice. There was a packet of seasoning which I didn't use. The food was cooked to PERFECTION, properly seasoned, and was delivered so hot and fresh I had to let it cool down for a few minutes before I could dig in. These folks DEFINITELY know what they're doing and how to properly prepare food. Can't say enough about them ..... their food puts some high-end restaurants to shame!!!!!“
“Long day of fishing out of Sweet Water Marina (Da Crow). Decided to take a recommendation from YouTube personality Outside the Levees and eat Lunch at Dat Kitchen. We walked in and were greeted by Chef Medah with a smile. She gave us a run down of the special and that’s what we got. A seafood stuffed potato with fried catfish fillet topper. Every bite was delicious and the fish was best ever. Made fresh to order. Please give this spot a try when in the area. Here husband and mother-in-law were amazing. Also go before the school crowd let’s out“
