“Great local spot to have breakfast, lunch, dinner, or even stopping in to have a drink. Staff is always friendly. The owners are extremely nice family oriented people. Food is always great. Gets busy on Saturday with the Gretna market.Kid-friendliness: Pretty much anytime you go there you’ll find children there with their parents never have seen or heard anything out of line.Wheelchair accessibility: I had a friend who lived not far from the restaurant and we would meet there she had no problems I entering or exiting or using the facilities.“
“Title: Gattuso's: Where Food, Fun, and Fiascos Collide! Tucked away in the heart of Gretna, Louisiana, Gattuso's Neighborhood Restaurant, Bar & Catering is a culinary adventure with a side of hilarity. From the moment you step inside, you know you're in for a treat... and possibly a few unexpected laughs. Culinary Capers: Let's start with the food, because let's be real, that's why we're all here. Gattuso's serves up mouthwatering dishes that will make your taste buds do a happy dance. But here's the kicker: the portion sizes are so generous, you'll need a roadmap just to navigate your plate. Seriously, their "small" dishes could feed a small army, and we're not complaining. But it's not just the size that's impressive; it's the flavors that will have you singing praises. Their gumbo is so good, it could make a Cajun grandmother shed a tear of joy. And don't even get us started on the po'boys--they're so stuffed, you'll wonder if they accidentally mixed up your order with a Thanksgiving feast. Great food, great vibe and not too expensive!!!“
“As a westbank native, I have passed this place THOUSANDS of times and never tried it lol. I'm happy to report that this place is a solid taco spot. The food is fresh and budget friendly - I mean, who can beat $3 tacos, especially in this economy. I walked up to order, and I waited about 10 mins for my food so the service was quick. The ambiance is definitely a grab and go type of situation with only street parking. Overall, happy I tried them. I will be going back for a quick cheap lunch/ dinner on the go.“
“It's a bar. It has bar food. However. I was pleasantly surprised at how spacious the outdoor seating was. The service was good.I don't live on the Westbank but it was a cool spot to hear live music and have some drinks with friends. The food was good too.“
“My husband was determined to try this place. We're california transplants, so we grew up on tacos from places where you've gotta speak Spanish to order. Personally, I dearly miss the hole in the wall mexican steam table restaurants that dish out like a panda express. All that being said, we love this place. Gives us a little taste of home that's more familiar than those super fancy taco spots around town. The food is well priced, fast and delicious. I always get a side of frijoles for my toddler and he destroys the entire order by himself.“
“We had an amazing experience there. It was our first time going and we happened to show up the night of the pop-up for chef Omar from Detroit. Not only was the food delicious, but the cause was even better. I have an immense amount of respect for any establishment that cares about human rights.“
“It’s been a while since we visited Plume, but we have always had SUCH a great experience! The food is delicious - my favs include the fried chicken and the naan. If you can’t eat in, the food travels/delivers very well to your house and is still very yummy!“
“Mannn I'm not even from here. I saw this place and looked it up. I was a fan but had to see if it was as good as it sounded and looked. Twas better. Excellent quality top notch product and service. The amount of care and thought into everything plus the execution.. there just are no words.. if I could give more stars I would. If yall live in this area support this place and make sure they stay being able to provide this to the community. You'll thank me later. Taylor thanks for the great service and conversation. You guys are awesome. Keep on keeping on!“
“Had the most divine time and the staff was amazing. I got to know the owner's children who are amazing young men. They were very welcoming and informative about the history of the restaurant. Had the red snapper with rice and the veggie tray with injera bread. Gonna use my leftover injera for twist-on crepes in the morning.“
“The beignets were delicious. They have coffee with regular milk only. For people who don’t tolerate milk, you will have to drink your coffee black. When I arrived there was a long line. After I got in, I noticed there was another entrance on the other side. As you see the main establishment facing the street, the main line is on the right, the other entrance is on the left and no one was making a line. When you come in just find a table and sit down, don’t worry about it being with dirty plates and empty coffee cups from past clients. Someone will come and clean it up. They get upset if you clean up. They will take your order and bring it to the table. They accept cash only.“
“Thanks to helpers, we came here for our very first stop. Yes, the ambiance is local and dive bar-like BUT man this place is the best. We came during their 10-2 daily drink specials ranging from $3-$5.. I enjoyed the Bloody Mary, the Screw Driver and some generously poured shots. The wife over indulged in their famous Ftozen Irish Coffee drinks ($3). For an extra $6, the really friendly bar server will pour you a generous shot. We snagged a bar seat and sat here for a few hours. It's the place to be and yes, it's an Irish bar.“
“I love Lil Dizzy’s food! The gumbo is like no other. The crawfish bisque is absolutely amazing. The fried chicken is just like my grandma’s. OMG I can go on and on, the Mac and sweet potatoes, potato salad, and so much more! You have to experience this place for yourself.“
“We love NOLA. Visit couple times a year but usually don't get a chance to go far from the Quarter. We had an opportunity to visit this place when a friend, who is a local, brought us, his suggestion. I'm so glad he did. Food was amazing. Great little bar with fun vibe.“
“My wife and I recently had the pleasure of visiting Morning Call Coffee Stand in New Orleans, and it was an absolute delight. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with the tantalizing aroma of freshly made beignets and café au lait. The service was lightning-fast, and despite being a cash-only establishment, we were in and out in no time. The staff members were not only efficient but also had a great sense of humor, adding a playful touch to our morning routine. As for the food, it was simply divine. The beignets were light, fluffy, and dusted with just the right amount of powdered sugar, while the café au lait was rich and creamy, the perfect complement to the sweet treats.Overall, Morning Call Coffee Stand provided us with a memorable breakfast experience that perfectly encapsulated the charm and flavor of New Orleans. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this place is definitely worth a visit.“
“I have been sending people to Bar Tonique for close to a year from my position as liquor vault manager at the Sazerac House. So many return to tell me what a great experience they had & to thank me for recommending it. I have left the position at Sazerac House & won't be sending any more from there, Good luck to all the craftsmen & women behind this truly wonderful place!“
“If you’re in New Orleans and craving a classic Southern brunch, you can’t go wrong with the smothered shrimp and grits at Porche Cafe. Their dish is a delightful symphony of flavors, featuring succulent Gulf shrimp atop creamy, stone-ground grits. It’s a dish that truly embodies the spirit of New Orleans cuisine—comforting, rich, and utterly delicious. Whether you're a local or just visiting, Porche Cafe's shrimp and grits are a must-try for an authentic taste of the city's culinary heritage. .“
“When you're in New Orleans, be sure to hit up the person behind the front desk at your hotel at least once after check-in and before check-out to ask what the best place to grab a snowball (Sno-ball? Up in the air...) is. And if you're lucky, there will be two people behind the front desk, so they can have a fierce debate about it. My decision was made after hearing that Hansen's gave you a souvenir cup with your sno-ball. It was 90+ degrees the entire time we were in NOLA. Without taking the humidity into consideration. So it came as no surprise that the first thing our Uber driver said to us was "Hansen's? I could really use a sno-ball today too!" (We invited her to join us but she declined because of the sugar content. Which... fair.) Plan and time your visit well. Hansen's is a little out of the way and is guaranteed to have a line. I found myself awkwardly craning my neck at times to catch the shade. It's a tiny mom-and-pop place (it's been in the Hansen family for three generations) and the fans inside won't do much to cool you down until you take your first bite of a sno-ball. It tastes nothing like shaved ice. The texture is softer -- truly snowlike. I got satsuma (a tart citrusy flavor that you'll find on the menu of many NOLA institutions, whether edible or in candle form) and cream of earl grey. I could barely taste the earl grey, so I think I should've gotten another flavor, but the satsuma was heavenly.“
“This is one of the best lunch cafes I have ever been to! I am a vegetarian and sandwich options are always so limited anywhere else. So many options I had a hard time deciding. Even if you’re not vegetarian you should check this place out!!“
“Might be the best brewery in Nola. Very imaginative (and delicious) beers, with no fear about mixing things up a bit. Their pours tend toward exacting flavors, well presented, with no fluff, as you would expect from someone that knows exactly what they are doing.“
“The best breakfast spot that I found while visiting New Orleans......I visited Two Chicks Cafe kn my birthday and omg the barbecue shrimp and grits were amazing and let's not forget about their French toast and Ashley was so sweet and kind.“
“I really like this place, one of my favorites in town. The service is absolutely fantastic, the teas are great, unfortunately today the key lime pie was not as great as always, the whip cream felt fake (from a can) not fresh and that was disappointing :c I still give them 5 of 5 because we really like the place and hopefully they keep the original quality of the key lime pie“
“We went yesterday and the wait was 2 hours. Got there a little earlier today and we got in. I’ve eaten at the Uptown location and was so happy they opened up another one that’s closer. It was my daughter’s first time and she said the food is so good and understands why there is a wait.“
“My husband and I came down from Boston for a long weekend in New Orleans and this is definitely worth a stop! We had a tour of the distillery with Alyson and she was very knowledgeable, funny and witty. We tore a lot of distilleries and wineries and breweries, and they had an excellent and very high-quality selection of bourbon available. They also offered some unique vodkas. You can't really go wrong here at all. After our tour, we ordered some drinks at the bar while we were purchasing some bottles to take home, and the bartender made some excellent recommendations of signature cocktails on their menu. Very good experience and highly recommend“
“Great Irish pub. Friendly atmosphere, super nice staff, and a good place to watch a match. Opens early for Saturday/Sunday's premier league. But if you want to watch any other particular game, you can always ask the bar staff if they can put it on one of the 10 tv's. They also have two tv's outside.“
“Fantastic. Hidden gem.Don't shy away from this place because it's tucked away in a food court, in fact go there for this reason. It has tons of seating, including a balcony. The perfect place to get an amazing sandwich away from the crowds.Tried the curry chicken salad sandwich and the French dip, highly recommend both.“
“I am practically about to lick the plate! We had the Mac n cheese, Rueben, Wagyu burger, egg rolls and pickle plate. I cannot say which was best, as they were all outstanding!!! Not to mention the service which was excellent. A perfect choice for vegans, vegetarians and carnivores alike!“
“Honestly this was the best place I've been in New Orleans and hands down the best juice bar I've ever been to.You can taste the love and passion that is pressed into each bottle of goodness with a vibe that is like no other.Scorch knows how to make you feel at home while Erin has a passion for keeping the mind and body healthy through foods and juices that are jam packed with the antidote we all needed but never knew.I am a person who knows food and I will definitely be putting this on the top all time favorite places to go to get delicious body fuel.Kid-friendliness: Made my kid the best blueberry Granola smoothie with chocolate nibs he loved it“
“Wow. That is my immediate take away. I just devoured the best savory scone I have ever tasted. It was so incredible that after I finished it I wanted to call them to tell them. I stopped in for my first time this morning after reading about Levee and living close by. Service, staff, and atmosphere were fantastic but that scone .... Just Wow.“
“Recently indulged in the hot salmon breakfast bagel at Flour Moon Bagel, and it was a delightful experience! The flavors were on point, and I especially enjoyed pairing it with the Sirius Raising alcoholic drink. The combination elevated my brunch to another level. Friendly staff and a cozy atmosphere added to the positive vibes. Definitely recommend trying this spot!“
“Amazing Event Cakes — We had a formal event this weekend for which Bywater provided our cakes. The chocolate peanut butter was to die for. The other cake was not what we ordered but we loved it just the same. If you need a cake for any occasion, we highly recommend Bywater Bakery.“
“We wandered from New Orleans to Algiers Point via the ferry. As we walked around we came across this gem. We just love the ambiance, the food was top notch and they had good beer. What a fantastic location!! I am a real estate agent and think every neighborhood should be developed like Algiers Point. There is a park for children on the corner across from Barracuda, and near by there is a church and a bar amidst adorable houses. Great location!!We did not get a picture of our food because we were too eager to eat. We just forgot!!“
“The food was good and nicely presented. It is cute and quaint. Orders are olaced at the counter, you seat yourself and they find you. I did find it odd I had to ask for syrup. Once I did, a condiment organizer was brought to my table complete with salt and pepper. The dogs with the man sitting at the next table were brought water and then some treats, without saying a word. The patrins were pleasant and conversational, the staff at the cafe were "matter of fact".“
“Went here once with my dad, have been asking him to take us again. Very nice atmosphere and our drinks arrived fairly quickly. I ordered a hot chocolate and it was honestly one of the best I've ever had, it was very authentic tasting and rich in flavor. Would def reccomend.Kid-friendliness: I can tell you it is pretty kid friendly, they let me have a nice big sticker of their logo for free.“
“Go to the Rusty Nail for exceptional bourbons, knowledgeable, friendly staff, great prices & excellent service... it's well worth would it takes to find it. Also they have a 25% off whiskey Wednesdays!!! Wife and I happened to get there b4 opening on Wednesday. One of the staff ladies took us around inside to show us what Bourbons they had available. Treated us very very kindly...!!! Went back later after a terrible experience at Barrel proof and we just sat there for about 2 hours and enjoyed ourselves. When we get back to New Orleans we'll be back!!“
“My husband and I went to Saba for brunch after multiple recommendations from friends and strangers. Wow… it was absolutely delicious. Some of our favorites were the variety of sodas, crab hummus, eggplant dip and fried chicken. I can’t wait to come back for the pancakes! Our waitress (I wish I remember her name … she had pink hair) was incredibly kind. So thank you to her for the hospitality and other suggestions while we are in town. We will be back!“
“Veteran run business. Has beer. Beer good. Come here. Outside patio with tvs. There are businesses next to it with food that only serve until around noon but has a food truck that comes around 5. They don't serve food here aside from chips or whatever snacks they be peddling. Great place. Founder himself served us beer and was a lot of fun to talk with.“
“I don’t know where to start but maybe with the meticulous approach to everything from prep to plating. Every dish was immaculate. The vibe was blessedly chill. Our server Catherine (who I sensed handles greater responsibilities) was cordial and informative, including her wine selections. We went with classics tonight: ceviche, mofongo, arepas, ropa vieja, and everything was perfect. I love this place so much.“
“The staff is absolutely fanatic!! We wondered in on Friday afternoon and were welcomed with smiles. The owner was very attentive and quickly started a conversation with my Irish husband. He volunteered to play the Six Nations Rugby game that was to air and Saturday. So we returned Saturday, and got to watch the game while on vacation!!“
“Effervescence is a little off the beaten path but is worth the journey. They have an excellent selection of bubbly by the glass, it's not only Champagne but from all around the world. The brussels sprouts were some of the best I've eaten but the food in general was very good. The owner is very friendly, highly recommend making this part of your New Orleans food experience!“
“First time dining at Burbon Heat. We sat outside and it was perfect. Try the Bang Bang Shrimp! Just do it. I had chicken and sausage Gumbo with red beans and rice and a boudin egg roll. I didn't care to much for the red beans. It was a flavor issue. The Gumbo and the boudin egg roll stole the show. My friend had the same dish as myself but she had the fried fish. Omg when I tell you it was seasoned and fried to absolute perfection. I will definitely be stopping in on my next trip to NO.“
“Love this place! Ive been coming to them for years. My reasoning for the 4/5 stars is because post-Covid I’ve noticed a significant decrease in size of the sandwiches but they have stayed at the same price point. It used to be easy to share the sandwiches now its more of a single serving. Still outstanding food and service regardless!“
“The most delicious ice-cream anywhere around. We routinely order the Cookie Monster (aka cookies n cream) and couldn't be happier. What makes the Rahm Haus Cookie Monster extra cool is that it's colored blue and the blue color doesn't come from food coloring, but rather "blue spirulina phycocyanin" which is a type of blue algae. The flavor has a generous amount of cookie in it and is creamy, both of which I appreciate. The service is great too. The woman who waited on us was extremely professional, informative and otherwise friendly. The ambiance is charming. It's located in the Merchant House and the vibe is that of a trendy outside bar. We love it.“
“We noticed this little spot on our way to brunch and made a note to stop by on the way back. The atmosphere is laid back and inviting. This is a wonderful family run establishment that we will continue to visit until we die. I highly recommend the Red Lemonade but everything was delicious!“
“Chill atmosphere, great architecture concept and intimate seating arrangement. GREAT FOOD!!! The Beignets were so good ..light crunchy outside , soft & fluffy inside almost melting in your mouth ? , so yummy??.. the Breakfast Sandwich with the croissant was absolutely delicious! Top it all off with a Mimosa ?? The pecan pie was equally delicious!“
“Decent hotel bar with a really nice view of the river. They have some interesting cocktails on the menu, and it was a good spot for an afternoon drink. We tried the Sassy Au Pere and Boheme Bongo cocktails; both were well made and reasonably priced at $16 each. The entrance is inside the mall and up an elevator. Because it's connected to the mall, there is also a parkade with lots of parking available.“
“Really cool outdoor space with good food, great for groups and vibey dates. If you want to eat outside, this is a top choice. You order at the window so the service is real quick and easy. Ordered a few tacos, the queso, and a bowl. So the tacos were ok, no real complaints. But the bowl is where it’s at. Beans and rice and guacamole and choice of protein and you can add broccoli and mushrooms. Great meal, really filling and delicious. The queso was unique, I added the chili and it came with pomegranate so it was a mixture of spice and sweet. Also, don’t sleep on the frozen mango margarita. Delish. This’ll be the happening spot as the weather warms up!“
“Best place for breakfast! Visited on multiple days of our trip. Delicious, homemade from scratch, creative and healthy options. The Interior decor is bright, uplifting and happy. Love the very comfortable green chairs. (not your standard wobbly wood seating). The service is outstanding: efficient and friendly.“
“Wow, what a surprise - the beer aficionado's brewery to visit away from the touristy part of town. Focusing heavily on mixed fermentation (read: tart/brett styles) and saisons, with a smattering of enough others to satisfy groups. Serene outdoor area, except when the trains go right by the door (such is life). And a great value. Loved it.“
“Amazing wine bar where you serve yourself! No more waiting in line for the bartender to notice you! Please check this place out for good wine, beer, mixed drinks, and friendly staff! Also amazing daily pop ups from local chefs are always a plus!“
