“Stopped here on our way from Baton Rouge to a swamp tour. THIS PLACE IS A MUST !! Highly recommend the fried fish, in my entire life it had to be the best fried fish I've ever had. I ordered the half fried fish half New Orleans shrimp which was bow tie pasta and shrimp with corn and Potato salad and oh my goodness I was scrapping the whole plate it was AMAZING. You have a selection of sides to chose from and the desserts were great. The owner is so sweet and quickly accommodated our party of 11. Do not skip if you have the opportunity to pass by here ! Will be coming again every-time I visit Louisiana. Thank you for the hospitality!“

“Took the baby for his first sit down meal and he was so good. Son had the Brisket Fajitas and I had a combination plate. The fajitas were excellent, tender meat. The enchilada, tamale and soft taco was a great combo of chicken and beef and delicious. Started my Grand with fries but he ate most of my rice and beans, he num num after every bite. We all give Cabos a 5 star ⭐️“

“I've only been twice.....first time orderd fried shrimp rice dressing and potato salad...the shrimp were delicious but the dressing and potato salad had no taste to them at all I didn't eat it because it was so bland.....second vist ordered shrimp po boy....it was delicious bread was pressed like a poboy should however the fries was a dark brown and tasted like the grease was old and burnt...I will give them another try but I'm definitely getting the shrimp po boy again“

“Chow Yum Fat was a great family experience, especially considering it was our eldest daughter's birthday. It did not disappoint and considering the eateries that were supposed to be 5-star and highly recommended in New Orleans, I and my daughters much prefer Baton Rouge cusine and it's symphony of flavors.Chow Yum Fat was recommended by my fiance and to say the least, I know for sure I can recommend the wings, the chicken Bao, the dumplings, and the Firebird Noodles (I believe that was the name for them, the menu is attached to this review).The Bao, which is a type of bread wrapped protein, was so delicious and new. The first bite is enough to make you take the second and the third. My only recommendation is to tell them be careful with the fish Bao because the Bao they gave us was wet and offputting. They did ask to bring us out another but we had already tried so many things on the menu, it would've been nice to have it removed, but no biggie!Why? The House Margarita is tasty, zesty, and full of class. The sip is worth it and the Mojito was beautifully crafted, sorry for a lack of a picture for that one, by the time my fiance started drinking it, it was too late. My mother in law recommends the soju, pick a flavor and enjoy!Those wings though, Wild Chow Wings, OMG! KEEP THEM COMING!!! The crispiness of the wing, the crunchiness of the peanuts, the right amount of sauce, and everything in between, I suggest be careful or you may just go overboard.The restaurant is family friendly and the portion sizes are generous and enough to definitely have a nice tasting of Chom Yum. “Three girlfriends getting together to discuss life. We chose the patio because we knew we would bring the noise level up and apparently we did. A mother and daughter stopped by our table on their way out to tell us they enjoyed our giggles. Patio is the best place for giggles when we told our waiter our goal was to take our time drink and enjoy appetizers prior to our meal he allowed us to do just that with the best recommendations for everything. Everything came out hot and delicious we enjoyed fried green tomatoes, blue crab dip, grilled fish, fried seafood platter, and vanilla bean for dessert. We will return.“

“We arrived on a Friday, at around 5pm. The hostess staff greeted us warmly, as soon as we stepped inside. The hostess seated us at a booth near the open kitchen area. I loved the level of cleanliness and noticed that a staff member was juicing TONS of citrus fruit for cocktails. That is A+ behavior!! Our server quickly arrived at the table. Her name was Maddie and Maddie was ICONIC. Maddie knew every single menu item and available variations of it. She proved masterful in describing and recommending dishes. “Was in town traveling on work and had a group dinner here. It was a beautiful night so we were able to sit upstairs on the patio. The location has a lot of seating.The music was a little bit loud, but that tends to go with the atmosphere.We had, several appetizers and all were tasty. “This place was phenomenal!! Never heard of it when I lived in BR, but my son passes on his way to work and wanted to try while we were in town. The food and the service were both top notch! My husband and I shared the chicken fried steak breakfast and an order of French toast, and my son had a patty melt. We were planning on ordering something different, but the lady at the next table raved about the chicken fried steak and the gravy. HANDS DOWN the BEST I have ever had of either! Honestly the patty melt was super good, the hashbrowns and the French toast were really good, and the giant homemade biscuit too, but that thin, super tender, perfectly breaded and seasoned steak and that delicious gravy stole the show and I can’t wait to go back for my own plate of just that and maybe some of the grits with shrimp and corn soup which we didn’t try this trip. I have to review our server too. I HOPE Tom is his name. I didn’t catch it, and I called back and described him to the hostess and that’s the name she gave me. This guy brought back memories of when I used to wait tables in the French Quarter 20 years ago, he is a true pro- yes, there are professional servers, and omgosh i love them. If you don’t know what I mean, I hate it for you. Having a server who takes pride in attending, anticipating, suggesting, and truly making your experience seamless and enjoyable (like taking it upon himself to have our shared meal plated separately all the way down to the hashbrowns) is its own type of art gallery experience. “I was in town visiting a friend. I saw the place was open for lunch. I got the smoked brisket with sweet potatoes and this savory cornbread dressing with gravy. It was such a phenomenal pairing, I kind of have some resentment my friend didn't insist I go there. Honestly, make it happen, you be happy you did.“

“I’m fairly new to University Seafood and I absolutely love the crawfish. They are always hot and just enough spice. The flavor is amazing, please don’t ever change your recipe. It’s my “go-to” now. “I give this place a 4.5 out of 5. The inside is nice. I liked the decorative tables. Plenty of seating. Booths, tables for larger groups, a sushi bar, and smaller tables for intimate settings. The service.....phenomenal. I ordered beef larb with sticky rice, and pineapple curry with shrimp. I also ordered a papaya salad and another beef larb to go. The larb was some of the best I have ever had. The portions aren't very big. But I would pay top dollar to eat that again. The curry was ok for me. I enjoy a thicker curry instead of a soupy one. However, the flavor was there. Shrimp cooked perfectly. The papaya salad. Simply lovely. I liked that they had many protein options for all their entrees. As I remember they had chicken, beef, pork, tofu, and shrimp. First time trying this place. I will be back.“
