“This was my second visit to prima to celebrate a special event with my daughter on a miserable rainy Thursday night. The restaurant was packed and initially thought we would need to wait an hour for a table . We proceed to the bar where we were seated almost immediately! Darren was our bartender. He was pleasant and attentive. Our food was brought quickly and was absolutely delicious ! Scott the manager introduced himself as a table had become available and I appreciated that personal introduction. After our yummy meal, our bartender surprised us with a complimentary dessert to celebrate our special night . I was so impressed!! Again another wonderful experience at Prima!!“
“THANK YOU TO THE ENTIRE KRASI STAFF.The hostess Jasmine is a GEM! She truly made our day. She went above and beyond for us!Every single staff member was so friendly, kind and welcoming. Our waiter Jose was great. We were able to enjoy a lovely brunch to celebrate my sister’s birthday!Beautiful atmosphereDelicious food and drinksOur choices:SpanakopitaAvga me patatesPeinirliPatatesMilopita (was so good, after we ate ours, we ordered one to go!)Alcoholic Drink: Tears of Dionysos10/10Keep it up! Yamas!“
“This place does not miss. I have been here many times for friends birthdays, anniversaries or family dinners and they are always extraordinary. The wait staff is professional, the drinks taste amazing (but are still strong), and the steak is some of the best I have ever had. The bread is always fresh that they bring to the table and the side are all very tasty. I highly recommend the tomahawk steak and a dirty martini from this place. A match made in heaven.“
“The crème brûlée is BOMB! And so are all the sides, and the tiramisu! NY Strip and the ribeye were also pretty good! Lovely ambiance and GREAT service. Service is surprisingly fast, as well, at least at lunchtime. I usually eat at the bar.“
“We were especially please with the halibut last night. While the price point is a bit steep, the fish was fresh and delicious and the accompanying white beans, brown butter sauce and spinach were also delectable. I prefer the mushroom toast with the black garlic aioli and the broccoli rabe was a bit oily for my taste but, all in all, an excellent meal. I definitely miss Chef Andrew & his creativity but I remain pleased with the waitstaff and I adore Claire.“
“Excellent french cuisine. The "filet de boeuf" and "boeuf bourguignon" were excellent and you can believe me (I am French and know very well what french cuisine means)! Service was excellent (very professionnal and very friendly). I recommend this restaurant to everyone“
“We dined at Brewer's Fork on a Friday around 5:30pm. There was no line, and we were immediately seated. They offer both bar/counter and traditional table seating. Service was good, and the waiter came by shortly afterwards to take our drink order. Their drink menu is huge and they have lots of beer and cider options on tap. For food, we shared mussels and a pizza. Although the mussels were on the smaller side, the curry sauce they came in was fantastic, consisting of coconut milk, curry spices, and lemongrass. The accompanying bread was also deliciously toasted and the perfect vessel to soak up all the remaining curry sauce. You can request half pizza flavors for no extra charge (the whole pizza will just be the original cost of the more expensive flavor). We ordered half spicy clam and half sausage. Both were fantastic, but the spicy clam was especially tasty and unique. It's nice having the option to try more flavors by ordering two different styles!“
“A past Boston local first introduced me to Giulia by donning it the only Italian restaurant they’d go to on that side of the water. So there’s that. Not only did they very kindly fit us in on a Friday night, the food and service was absolutely excellent. Top notch food and drink, great vibes. Will absolutely be back. Special shout-out to their incredible co-owner who very kindly sent me my Project Paulie hat I left there by accident. You guys are the truly the best! THANK YOU!“
“We had an absolutely phenomenal time at MIDA!! The Caesar salad, the spacatelli al pesto, and the tiramisu were particularly incredible, and the whole team was so kind and welcoming! Absolutely the best place for date night and to celebrate my birthday ? “
“When visiting a French restaurant expectations are high. The food tends to be exquisite and some dishes are here. The Foie Gras is amazing and so are all the deserts we tried. However the escargot which is something I always try at French restaurants was only ok.The service varies on who your server is as we had friends who came to the restaurant after we sat and we ordered before they even got their menus and yet they had their appetizers first. When looking for someone to call for a refill and even when we wanted the menus for desert, it is very difficult to catch anyone looking at your table as if each waiter will only look at their own table only. On the bright side they brought us water as soon as we sat and refilled it often. That is how I would get someone's attention...finish my water so someone could come by and I could ask for something. The place is very small and you will have to be a party of two and be lucky to get a table without a reservation, which is what happened with our friends..who came in a little after we sat and were hoping they could sit with us, but with such little space it seemed unlikely they would even be able to get a table but as they were asking a table for two was leaving. Its rather on the expensive side which can be understood with the quality of some of the dishes, however I would except everything to be great for these prices. Its a good place with potential to be great.“
“We’ve been several times and it’s always absolutely incredible. This time, we sat at the chefs table and had so much fun watching the chefs create each dish! It was my husband’s birthday and we were greeted with custom menus wishing him a happy birthday, such a nice touch! Our server was phenomenal, as were the food and drinks. You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, but the house made ricotta and branzino were the stars of our most recent visit. This is one of our favorite neighborhood spots and we can’t wait to come back again soon!“
“Cute, cozy, good food, acceptable prices, the amount of food is moderate, everything was very good except for the service. The guy serving at the counter was very distracted with his phone which made him uncomfortable several times since the other guy (waiter) was busy with the other tables. Overall good place.“
“Really fun and tasty dinner! I sat at the row of moving bar stools which were a unique and comfortable place to sit, but while I was there I observed one person fall off a stool and a second person almost fell! So be careful on the moving bar stools or get a table if anyone in your group may be unsteady on a chair without a back! The arancini and the baccala mantecato were perfect small bites for two and the pasta dishes were well seasoned and so delicious! The negroni had a tasty apple flavor and the Venetian Spritz cocktail was also tasty, not as sweet as I would usually expect for an Aperol spritz.“
“Excellent! Filet mignon and rainbow trout. Her steak was perfectly seasoned. My fish was moist and well seasoned also. She got risotto which wasn't allot but was very good and asparagus. I had delicious brussel sprouts and asparagus.Could not have asked for a better waiter!“
“I got the carbonara and sangria red, and it was nice! They start you out with bread, olive oil and parmesan, and I think they use fresh pasta and gave a decently hefty portion! I don't regret coming but will happily try out the other restaurants in the area before making my way back here. :)“
“This place was truly decadent. Their wine list was to die for, and I savored every bite of food I ordered. The most incredible part of the meal was a tie between the anchovie toast, and the tinned fish. If you are like me and look for a bunch of little yummy bites from all different dishes- this is the place for you! I went with three of my gal pals and we all shared everything (including the wine) and it was awesome. The seating is limited so you should definitely reserve ahead, but whether it's a girl's night, romatic date, or seat for one at the bar, you should definitely check this place out!“
“Came here for Dine Out Boston (2024) and I absolutely loved it! The field green salad was huge and I loved the dressing. Then for my entree chicken and I was not disappointed. Double chicken breast over a risotto with mushrooms. The flavor was wonderful and the chicken was sooooo juicy. It also comes with mashed potatoes (my favorite) and we chose asparagus as a replacement for the creamed spinach. Then for dessert I got the crème brûlée, everyone was sad they didn't pick that one after they took a bite of mine. Definitely get the crème brûlée because it was creamy and decadent, the cheesecake was good too. Overall, this was a really good Dine Out Boston choice, especially since there aren't too many in the greater north Boston area“
“Dropped by Curio Coffee on a Friday morning. All of the metered parking was already taken at this time, so I had to park a bit further and walk, so keep that in mind.I liked the rustic vibes and brown/black/green color scheme of the inside. Free Wi-Fi, so there were quite a few customers working, though there is a "no computers" policy on weekends.I ordered an everything with cream cheese Liège waffle and a miso caramel latte to go, which took about 5-6 minutes to prepare. The waffle tasted just as good as it smelled. There was a good topping to waffle ratio, and the waffle was crunchy on the outside but chewy on the inside. I recommend toasting it if you are taking it home, as the cream cheese tasted that much better slightly melted. The miso caramel latte, on the other hand, was disappointing. The miso caramel flavor was not prominent, so it just tasted like a regular hot coffee. I also think it was a bit pricy.Overall, I would pass on the coffee next time but would be interested in trying another waffle if I come back.“
“This is one of our favorite restaurants! The food and service are fantastic. Dan, John & Tony bring it every time - they are the A-Team! Last night we tried the “Meaty” Mushrooms and it was excellent! Mixed Fat Moon mushrooms, miso-roasted gilfeather turnips, herb-butter pan sauce, parsnip puree, crispy onion. I am a lover of wild mushrooms, and this dish is one of the best I’ve had. I love how they use farm fresh foods and change up their menu accordingly.“
“Our server Jack was just wonderful. The owner also came over and helped us pick out wine and really nice. We felt very well taken care of and the atmosphere was lovely. The food was delicious, but quite pricey so I would save this for a special occasion. But it's a must!!“
“My visit to Barcelona Wine Bar in South End was great, especially because of Ryan, the manager who helped us out when I booked the wrong day. The atmosphere was lively, the service was excellent, and the food was delicious. I'd definitely recommend this place.“
“A very detailed review from someone who has eaten a lot of tapas!Outstanding bartender! I’ve been a bit disappointed lately when I go into high-end cocktail bars, and they don’t have ingredients I need for making my favorite drinks. Not only was this bartender excellent and knowledgeable, but as I was naming my favorite drink, he knew it, and he loved it as well. I ordered off the menu though, and enjoyed the “kitty’s got claws” because I am a big Mezcal fan and it looked interesting. It was beautifully balanced. Then I saw him making what I thought was a corpse reviver, and we talked a bit about that, and I was thrilled that he knew how to make one, so as I watched him making one for somebody else. I ordered it as my second drink. I know I’m supposed to be reviewing the food, and I will get to that, but a quality bartender, who is interesting and fun, and above all… Knowledgeable, is a very big part of an experience that has a full bar. Bravo, to this bartender! I only wish I remembered his name.On to the food. Interesting interpretation of tapas. Especially the cabbage, which was different than any presentation I have had before. A large piece, braised perfectly, with a creamy sauce. Patatas bravas were an interesting take as well. Often they are either too small with a bit of sauce smothered on them or they are too big and only spiced a little bit. These were a great size and they were seasoned, but did not have any sauce on them, which is wonderful. And then there was some romesco sauce (made of tomatoes and roasted red peppers, and usually almonds) on the side; a really great interpretation of this classic Spanish dish. (Note that a typical bravas sauce has smoked paprika and tomato paste) and I really enjoyed the romesco as a nice change. We also had a lamb slider, which was big enough for lunch for one person. So keep that in mind when ordering. It was actually halfway between the size of a slider and a regular burger. Also, the homemade focaccia was very fluffy! The rosemary butter is a good compliment.Atmosphere is cute. Loud and bustling and definitely not the type of place that is quiet and you can hear the forks clinking. Really great vibe. Wonderful neighborhood place. We lived in JP for years and raised our kids here and it was great to come back and see this new (to us!) restaurant in the neighborhood.“
“Can’t go wrong with the food menu, the garlic bread is my favorite thing to get, the team provides quick service and is very welcoming. Chris, John, Jess, and Jo always seem to have a smile on their face and are very friendly. The atmosphere is great, would have no problem spending a couple hours there!“
“Visiting a classy restaurant in Boston, I came across a refined environment, frequented by loyal customers. My experience was short, limited to just one drink, but enough to appreciate the quality of the place and the opportunity to interact with amazing people.Proposed to me by acquaintances without me knowing anything about it beforehand, my surprise was immense upon discovering one of the most elegant and welcoming environments in the city. What elevates this restaurant above the others is not only its refinement, but also the warm and human welcome, as well as an exceptional clientele: groups of friends enjoying a meal and a glass of wine, elegant and mature couples who spend precious moments, immersed in pleasant conversations, and a chef who is attentive to the satisfaction of his dishes.I didn't believe there were still places capable of offering such an intimate and personal experience, accessible to everyone and not just to an exclusive clientele. However, considering the popularity of the venue, it might be wise to book in advance.“
“Ok let me be clear this is a very fun little spot. The charcuterie is next level, well sourced selection you’re gonna be hard pressed to find, BUT when we were seated a waiter reached over me at the bar twice to mess with some small glasses, first time fine whatever, second time he dropped the glass in front of me and it shattered absolutely everywhere. There were tiny pieces all over me, he was super apologetic and luckily there was no food in front of me yet, but I’m disappointed nothing further was done about it. He wasn’t our server. Our servers name was Peter, and HE was an absolute delight. I would go there again just to small talk him. He made the experience fun. Will still go again because we dream about the honeycomb and cheeses.“
“Seriously the best Italian food I’ve had yet in Boston, I prefer Ravellos to most places in the North End. Short Rib Ravioli is unreal, food is fairly priced for Boston, and the quality they deliver is unmatched. We live down the street and prefer to come here whenever eating Italian. 15/10 stars for this “
“One of the first places me and my boyfriend went to while he was visiting Boston. The steak was flavorful and buttery, and the sides were up to par. The tots!!! So so good. Our drinks were exactly according to our taste. I like sweeter drinks so the bar made a drink just for me. Would go here again if I need to go to a restaurant that I know is good and won't upset anyone.“
“We came here for Easter dinner with a group of 4. The seating area is warm and comfortable while still feeling a bit more upscale - a great location for a date night or special occasion. We enjoyed the dishes overall and appreciated that you could get a glimpse into the kitchen from the dining room. What we ordered: - Tuna crudo: Interesting flavors. The fish tasted fresh but could have used some more acidity. - Fried hen-of-the-woods mushrooms: Nice, crisp, and well seasoned. - Sautéed heirloom carrots: The carrots were nicely cooked but the glaze was a bit too sweet. - Seared scallops: The scallops were perfectly seared and paired well with the lentils and sauce. - Phyllo-wrapped cod: We were surprised how crispy this was even though it was sitting in the sauce. The lobster stew was full of flavor. One of our favorites of the night. - Seafood risotto: The risotto was well cooked but the dish could have included more seafood. - Lemon pepper half chicken: The juices of the chicken soaked into the beets to make a delicious bite.“
“The owner was very understanding at my confusion about cancellation fees and in the end I was able to come in and enjoy a lovely evening of wine and earl grey mousse (all delicious). I’ve been many times before for fondue and other dessert and have always enjoyed. Thank you Alexandra!“
“Wow, loved it. Came here for a belated Valentine's dinner. The service was excellent. Food was amazing and the wine was solid. I recommend the cabbage, the celeriac and the yams! Our cashew tart dessert with chocolate gelato (?) was also lovely. Thanks for a great experience!“
“Went on a Saturday night, had the pleasure of being seated and taken care of by Gwynne and cooked for by Miles. Incredible service, wonderful food, and amazing wine recommendations. Couldn’t name a better place in Southie, let alone Boston. Dates, family visits, drinks with friends - bring them all here and make sure you ask for Gwynne and give a shout to Miles (get the pickles)! Will be back ASAP“
“This is a great Italian restaurant. The service here was great, they were very nice and professional but not too uptight. The food did take a little longer, however I went with a big group so that is to be more expected. Pricing was on the higher end but it was a nice restaurant and the food was definitely worth it.“
“The service is excellent. Our waitress Jami really cared about our feelings for the steaks that we ordered. She asked me how I felt about the steaks. “I ordered my steaks to be cooked for medium rare but the kitchen overcooked the steak and it became too dry”, I said. She offered to replace a new steak for me even though I said we were fine with the steak. She wanted to ensure that we were 100% satisfied with the food. Even the manager came over to our table to apologize for the food that didn’t meet our expectation. The service exceeded my expectation.“
“Was here with a friends for a bday dinner. It was absolutely delicious from drinks to mains and to dessert. We had their private room and it was so great to make all the noise in there. Totally recommend everything but our favorites was the croquettes, patatas bravas, shrimp in garlic and the salad. But totally do the omakase pre doze meal they have. Let them do all the thinking. Sit back and drink and stuff your face. Can't wait to go back. Service was phenomenal too!!“
“Our dinners were seasoned with a lot of spicy which the menu/ingredients did not specify. Although we enjoy some spicy in our food, we would have chosen something else if the server would have indicated so since the dish description on the menu did not. The music was so very loud and we could not hear ourselves talking, while heading out we walked out with 3 other couples we did not know who made the same comment. We could not hold a conversation over the loud music.“
“This place is wicked cool! They specialize is South American natural wine (finally a natural wine bar in this part of the neighborhood!) they let me try a few before I chose a glass and they were really patient with me and knowledgeable about the wine!! I also got some empanadas that were tasty, the ham and cheese was my favorite! I even bought a couple bottles of wine to take home with me! Love this place, my new go to! Also loving the Lisa Frank vibes, the atmosphere is dope“
“Phenomenal. Could not have asked for more. Our server Sunny was kind, helpful, and efficient. The food was unbelievable. Burrata app is so unique and we loved it. Had the special (beef Wellington) and it was perfect. Wife's chicken pasta was amazing. Highly recommend the creme brûlée! Service overall was fast and everything was outstanding.“
“I would certainly return to this restaurant. The bread isn't very good with artificial butter but don't let this deter you. Everything (except beef tartare)made up for the bad first impression. Beef bourguignon - 5 stars Filet mignon - 5 stars Tartare de boeuf - 3 stars (didn't come with chips contrary to the description.and was very acidic) Foie gras sautee - 5 stars Cocktails - 4 stars - no better or worse than you typical cocktails Crème brûlée - 5 stars - hard to go wrong here but delicious Service - 5 stars - our waiter was so friendly and went above and beyond to make our experience excellent. Hands down the best service I've had in Boston. I would give him 10 stars if I could“
“We had a reservation for Easter brunch, and upon arrival saw that the bar was empty, so we decided to sit there instead. Friendly bartender greeted us and offered drinks promptly. Ordered an asparagus strudel off the brunch specials, and it was outstanding. We both got the scrambled egg plate for our mains. The plate came out looking great except the bacon was not cooked. Just limp bacon not living up to its potential. I would've told the bartender but he never came over to check on us after our food was dropped. Would come back and try a meal again though.“
“We really loved everything we had at Terramia, especially the braised beef ravioli (which was my favorite).Service was spectacular although the space is limited and can be tight during busy hours. Always best to make a reservation ahead of your visit to avoid long wait times.“
“Cute little hidden gem. We absolutely love this place! The food, atmosphere, people, service - everything was amazing!Of course, the food deserves a separate discussion and praise! Taste, freshness, aroma, consistency - just wonderful! The beautiful drinks are also noteworthy as they taste just as good as they look. This is always a go to spot whenever we’re on Newbury.“
“Came here with my girlfriend for a quick mid-week dinner and left feeling satisfied and impressed! The eatery is small, and has a dark-cottage like feel. We sat ourselves and were served promptly. I ordered the chicken quesadilla, which was very juicy and jam-packed with minced pieces of fajita vegetables. It was delicious and cheesy. Every ingredient was very fresh and of good quality. It came with a side of cheesy refried beans, which were incredible! They were so good I'd honestly order them on their own. Wow! My girlfriend reported that her Bahn Mi sandwich was good, but a little on the hotter side. If you're a spice lover like me, though, that is a perk! Overall, we had a great dinner at Shay's and will definitely be back!“
“Love this place! It's the perfect date spot! It's the perfect gathering of about 4 friends spot! The food and service is always on point. it seems as if the staff is committed to you enjoying every single drop of wine and food that touches your tongue. I love this place and can't find a bad thing to say about it.“
“Went for dinner on a quiet Wednesday night. Had the mussels as an appetizer - flavor profile was really good. Both entrees were very well prepared and tasty. Had the seafood entrée with gnocchi. The gnocchi were delicious. They say all their pasta is made in house, and I could tell the gnocchi were handmade and fresh, not commercially prepared. A big plus! The other entrée was with linguine, again made in house. Big plus #2!!“
“The Amar has an exquisite high ceiling interior and besides the food and service, that is definitely what you are paying for. The service was great, friendly, and efficient. And the appetizers and desert were also really good. However, I was a little disappointed in the cod fish main course. It was quite hard and tasted more toward a grilled fish than cod. But nonetheless I had a good experience, especially with the hospitality I received right when I exited the 17th floor lifts.“
“Fantastic brunch! Layla’s has a wide variety of options for food and I left with plenty of leftovers. Favorite items were definitely the Cinnabon Pancakes—they were extremely thick and fluffy. Great texture and not too sweet. The burger (royale) was also just an excellent burger with good sauce. The only thing that I’m not sure I would order again was the brunch bowl. The eggs came over medium so the yolk wasn’t oozing over the rest of the bowl. Also, the portions of each item felt a little off. It definitely could have used more Brussels sprouts and bacon, but there were a lot of the breakfast potatoes. It was still great, just a little disappointing compared to the rest of the amazing food. I would love to come back here to try even more food!“
“We got seated right away at our reservation time. Our server and the staff was excellent, very knowledgeable about the menu and very attentive but not over the top, we didn't feel rushed. The food was very good, the menu has a great variety, almost too much as it is hard to decide. One of our favorite places in the North End.“
“Just ate there for dinner and it was incredibly busy on a Saturday night, but with no reservation we got in in about 10-15 minutes. Again it was incredibly busy but the service was outstanding, great people constantly checking in and filling waters, the food was excellent, we got the beef tenderloin antipasto which was good, then the veal, which was fine, but I would really reccomend the house (most popular) pasta, which was the best I’ve ever had, wish I could have eaten more. The dessert was also delicious, overall our group unanimously agreed that we could hardly say one negative thing. Would reccomend to all as the best Italian I’ve ever had.“
“Great location in the theatre district. Good value, and a plus that it's not too loud. Easily accommodated a wheelchair in our party. We had the ahi tuna tacos which were great (except are served with flour tortilla instead of corn tortillas). We also enjoyed the pear salad - perfect to split with two or three as an appetizer. Tempura green beans were as promised with two delicious sauces.“
“As always our meal at Dovetail was spot on. I had the snapper and my wife the scallops. Bother dishes were thoughtfully prepared, attractive and very tasty. We've been fans for years and have never been disappointed in our meals at Dovetail or their sister restaurant, Brewers Fork.“
