“Very good overall. Food was interesting and mostly delicious, but heavy on the vinegar/acid, which wore out our palates. Music volume was ok — we were able to converse without yelling - a nice change from recent experiences at other restaurants. (Suggest you moderate the thumping bass though — it sermed get louder as the evening progressed!) Liked the ambiance and pace of the meal. Staff and service was outstanding.“
“We were especially please with the halibut last night. While the price point is a bit steep, the fish was fresh and delicious and the accompanying white beans, brown butter sauce and spinach were also delectable. I prefer the mushroom toast with the black garlic aioli and the broccoli rabe was a bit oily for my taste but, all in all, an excellent meal. I definitely miss Chef Andrew & his creativity but I remain pleased with the waitstaff and I adore Claire.“
“Ate at the chefs counter last night with a buddy. The food was delicious and fun. Was delighted by each course. Very well executed. Wine pairings were wonderful. Service was attentive and friendly. Atmosphere was cozy and comforting. If I lived in Boston, I would visit here often.“
“This place is great and the food was fantastic. We are very much a foodie family with different tastes so we were looking for a place that would hit everyones tastebuds. We arrived and departed by lyft since we were staying at a local hotel(there is a designated pick-up/drop—off area which helps a lot). They have a variety of different eateries, I think two bars, a couple of huge screens which that night was showing the awards. For a cold Sunday night, it was pretty lively. The best part in my opinion (besides the food) was that you can scan the QR code and order straight from your table for anyone of the places and either do counter pickup or have it delivered to you. The app works wonderfully and seamless even with multiple orders; you receive a text when your order is ready. The kids ordered some donuts (not pictured) from Union Square which they enjoyed. We honestly didn’t have any complaints.“
“Very good food, pretty portions. They are small so if there are two of you, order at least 4 plates! :) If You're a group of 4, you'll probably get to taste the whole menu. To me, main dishes selection was way better than the desserts. In the desserts section, everything seemed to be either chocolate based or ice cream. I wish there were more vegetarian options in the main menu, but I have to admit that the fish dishes were perfect, so if you're a pescetarian, you're good here. Love love love the atmosphere, the candles, the plants!“
“We enjoyed a beautiful night out in Boston and ended up eating at Vee Vee (luckily) as walk-ins. They gave us a seat by the door, which was appreciated and the service to the food was hitting on all marks. The one thing I hold back from giving a 5 star review on is that we were dying of heat -- it felt like we were eating in a sauna. I'm not sure if it was because they didn't turn on the AC or if we just had an unfortunate seat that wasn't receiving any of that cool air. Either way, I was sweating throughout the entire dinner service and so was my fiancée.“
“Excellent! Filet mignon and rainbow trout. Her steak was perfectly seasoned. My fish was moist and well seasoned also. She got risotto which wasn't allot but was very good and asparagus. I had delicious brussel sprouts and asparagus.Could not have asked for a better waiter!“
“Absolutely excellent meal with an excellent team. Starting with the amazing bread and butter and a ln orange creamsicle (adult version of a childhood favorite). Then the broccoli salad with poached egg (poached expertly creating a creamy sauce). I had the fusilli broccoli- home made pasta dressed beautifully. My husband had the chick pea stew - whole chick peas made this his favorite. Finished with delicious double chocolate chip cookies. Can’t wait to go back!“
“Oak Bistro is one of the most delicious restaurants I've eaten at in recent years. Everything from the salad to the ragu pasta to the burger was impeccably flavored and cooked. And the service was fantastic. The bar area isn't as bright or charming at the main restaurant, and it is a little noisy. The main restaurant however is lovely -- not too loud, bright, with lots of room between tables. Will definitely be returning!“
“Super friendly service, inviting atmosphere, and amazing food! The taro latte was a warm, sweet (but not too sweet!) hug in a mug. The pancakes were so fluffy and soft! The towoomba panini, however, was the star of the show! It was so fresh, unusual, and absolutely delicious! All in all, I can't recommend Cafe Weekend highly enough!“
“Get the tasting menu!!I was so happy that Forage went above and beyond on providing vegan and vegetarian options for every course, none of which felt subpar or like an afterthought. 10/10 for creative dishes and delicious food for everyone.Dietary restrictions: Vegan and vegetarian options“
“This was an amazing dining experience. Beautiful, tho small restaurant. Perfect service at the bar. The most delicious halibut I have ever had in my 43 years of life. I never knew halibut could be cooked that perfectly. SUPER impressed. Thank you to Antonio and Chef Dave!“
“this place is so wonderful, a cozy interior that you can meet the owner, Peter. he is so knowledgeable and kind, their coffee is outstanding and delicious. for food their tuna wrap is my go-to but i am going to have to try all their snacks!“
“Food and atmosphere were very good; the disappointing part is the time constraint they keep imposing on each reservation; in our case it felt esp inadequate bc we came for a BDay celebration...and not just to eat; so I didn't like being reminded right at the door that by certain time we definitely need to get out...and that before we even had a chance to sit down; so we did feel unnecessarily rushed which definitely blemished our relaxing BDAY dining experience; so after this - I most likely won't be returning; perhaps the management needs to look into differentiating between event dining and regular dining reservations for better quality service and customer experience“
“This place is French in a good way. We were greeted warmly and seated by the large windows overlooking Mass Ave. The place exudes casual elegance -- candlelight, brick, the ubiquitous wine display. Magically, the waitstaff was there when you needed them and in the background when you did not. We dined on duck confit, scallops, and homemade tagliatelle. Ok, I think you could skip the tagliatelle but the server did warn us it was a "neighborhood" dish. All were well prepared and thoughtful. We enjoyed the combination of jicama with duck confit, and the watercress brought a freshness to the scallops. Would highly recommend trying the goat cheese and espresso cake. It seemed weird to us, but we found the combination delightful. This place has been here for years and appears to be going strong. We'll be back.“
“Great dining experience, and food flavorful and the right portion , the tuna tar tar was my fave of the night was absolutely fresh and delicious I have been to the seasons 52 in Burlington so my expectations were kind of high and the chestnuthill location did not disappoint it was a bday dinner and the birthday girl enjoyed it was well ..“
“The food was so good and our waiter was really kind. We got two original cocktails off the menu and we really enjoyed them. We'd come back more often if we lived closer!Kid-friendliness: Our 10 year-old was more than welcomed. His pizza was delicious.“
“I have never posted a review before. My wife and I are visiting Boston during the winter and we ate dinner at Summer Shack last night. We ate at Atlanta Fish Co a few days ago and that was good too. We went to Pescador tonight and it was so very bad we paid the check, left the food and went back to the Summer Shack because it was so incredibly good. Recommend to all who love great shellfish and lobster. The best.“
“The atmosphere of the restaurant was super cozyyy and comforting. The food amazinggggg. The chicken and waffles with the bacon gravyyy hits different! The French toast was soo good fluffy flavorful. Service was great. Definitely the new brunch spot.“
“Had the crab cake breakfast dish that seemed to be part of the daily specials. It was super delicious ! Service was nice and quick. Would recommend seeing how the online waitlist is doing and possibly joining before leaving your house. Had to wait two hours .“
“Wonderful! Interesting pizzas cooked in a 900 degree oven with some creative sides and top notch hospitality. Really nice cocktail and wine list also.Dietary restrictions: We were provided an annotated menu with which dishes were okay and which could be modified.“
“Love the atmosphere, very spacious. We made a reservation for a weekday dinner and I’m glad we did because the place filled up very quickly after 6pm! Our server was very sweet and food came out pretty quickly. Everything beautifully played and creative. There were some dishes I’m not sure I would reorder but it was definitely worth the try. Good portion shareable portion size for a tapas place.“
“Loved Buttonwood! Our first night there. Service was amazing with Alex at the bar. The food was terrific, fresh and perfectly prepared. Had the arugula salad to start. Lightly dressed perfect portion so good. My wife had the brick chicken. Excellent dish, so tasty and moist. I had the Salmon. OMG crispy crust, perfectly cooked and the best Brussels I've ever had. Great experience and met Chef Aaron. We will be back and adding this to our top restaurants list. Thank you!!“
“Amazing atmosphere with iconic decor. An antiquated feel to it. I was here for a conference and there are quite a number of meeting rooms, but seating is rather limited. Also, parking is a gigantic problem, so use public transportation if possible because most conferences go all day long, so the zones limit you to either one hour or two hours with NO option to extend your time. You will have to keep moving your vehicle and driving around & around & around in hopes a spot will open up. Very friendly people here and it has a prestigious feel to it.“
“Swung in for brunch and had a pretty good time. Ordered the Hot Buttered Rum, and while i didn't enjoy it as much as i thought i would, it was still neat.We ordered the biscuits and gravy with fried chicken and cookie dough waffles. The biscuits and gravy were rather forgetable, but the waffles were so good.Finished off with the brownie sundae, which was great.Overall, we had a good experience. The service was good, the atmosphere was cozy and comfortable, and we came and left happy.“
“Went here for valentine’s day dinner. The food was delicious!!!!! We ordered off their pre-fixed menu and then ordered a mushroom starter (i can’t remember the name but it was SOOOOO good). The wait staff was incredibly friendly and went above and beyond. The short rib was incredibly tender and cooked amazingly, the chicken fell off the bone, the wagyu tartar was the star of the night though. The flavor was absolutely incredible i would love to come back here. The hostess noticed when she seated us that our table was wobbly and my partner and without saying anything to us she came back and asked if she could fix it- we weren’t bothered by the rocking but it definitely made our experience better and we appreciated it! Our waiter boxed our leftovers up too and was just incredibly kind and attentive. Truly a 5/5 experience.“
“Great place for something low key and casual. I came here to meet a friend for drinks. The restaurant is split between 2 levels and we met up downstairs. The bartender was very friendly and was able to get our orders in right away. Note that this is a CASH BAR ONLY!“
“Loud but comfortable. Warned when we arrived that there was an hour and 1/2 time limit for our table. Not necessary as there was still space when we left. Cheeseburger egg roll appetizer was excellent. Salmon burger was ok. Too salty. Out of the duck entree that I wanted, but gnocchi was good.“
“Very nice server. He was on his own, and made sure to let me know the food would take a while before I placed my order. The sandwiches were great. My six year old is a picky eater, so I expected her to say "It's not like the kind I like" and just pick at it a bit. Nope. She loved it. My wife and I liked ours too. What a nice surprise to find in a rest stop. Will make a point of stopping at this rest stop to go here.“
“My bartender this night was Zack. He was intuitive and an informative bartender who brings atmosphere to those around him. The decor is colorful and inviting. Modern lighting, not to bright, but not too dark. Almost a space like atmosphere. Clean, tidy and top notch. The menu is inviting with many choices. Appetizers, meals and even desert...try the Ruben it is mouth watering! Also if Damian is working the kitchen that night your going to end up with the most flavorful meal. He is a master of his skills. I highly recommend the food, drinks and atmosphere.“
“This place was perfect for a romantic night away. The bar was fun and the room was great. We usually hate the soaps but they were all Italian and we even bought some online. The bed was a 10 firm yet with a down topper which we also bought. They brought us some champagne which was highly unexpected. The red stone literally 25 ft from the entrance was off the charts. I would 100% go back and it was a wonderful experience!“
“Such phenomenal food and great prices and super friendly staff. We got the surf and turf, shrimp scampi, potato skin appetizer, and tiramisu for dessert. The seafood was incredibly fresh and huge portions. The surf and turf had plenty of lobster meat as well. Highly recommend all dishes.“
“Delicious! Hadn’t been in person since pre-COVID and finally made it out to Branchline tonight. I didn’t realize how much I missed the chicken until I had it again tonight. The sides were amazing and service great, too. Will be back again soon. Thanks, Branchline!“
“Hopewell always hits! The food here is incredible, nothing more needs to be said. But honestly, the truffle fries are a must. The pizza was a 10/10. The cocktails our server recommended were perfection. I’m already looking forward to going back. Wish I saved room for dessert because everything sounded good. The vibes are cozy and quaint.“
“Nice atmosphere for dancing but facilities could use improvement. Need heavy-duty and more coat racks. The ones we put our coats on collapsed and it was a nightmare finding our belongings. Also, the sink water pressure could use some help. See video above.Btw for the people looking at the food pictures, thinking this is still a restaurant, it’s not anymore and is an event space, just a heads up.“
“Went early on a Tues evening. Enjoyed cocktails with cheese and meats board with several nice options for both.Did not feel rushed to order entrées. Shared the Milanese chicken and Maine halibut. Both were very well prepared, fresh and delicious.Filled up as the night went on, but attentive service throughout.Parking: Available parking behind the building and some on street parking“
“Definitely on the fence for 5 v. 4 stars. It a great space with lots of interesting decor, and the upper floor has a great vibe ...get up there if possible. Service was good; expected for a slow evening. Vibe is nice...not too much TV or music pervading, yet not lacking in some liveliness either...nice touch. Host was great and re-seated to better spot (chairs not stools) was easy. The standard menu (no specials that night) had scallops which were super! Cooked perfectly with the broc rabe also perfect on the side. The risotto, possibly from another school of risotto-thought, was not so. Just OK and seeming under cooked a bit and underwhelming... some umami or like influence would be good/needed. Duck dish was nice...but, they asked if medium rare is OK which it is! and should be. It was a precut set portion of tiny fillets which is great ( tho Im a fan of on the bone or "whole" fillet). What came up was nearly raw in the middle...yes, I definitely could have sent it back, but i"m lazy I guess and wanted to start eating together. Note to chef: a thin/medium size line of pink is good but a big old bunch is not. Note I eat rare /medium rare everything including lamb and port, but this was 'too much'...again my fault for not sending back, but.... Asparagus side was done very well...not under/over cooked. I'll be back!“
“We stopped by here because everything around us was closed at 10PM. The drinks and food were awesome. They have a big selection of cocktails you would never think of trying. Their deviled eggs were so good and the bratwurst sausage was delish. Service was really great. Everyone is extremely nice and welcoming. We came back for a second round the next day!“
“I know this is a chain, but every time I come here for lunch, I never leave disappointed. The service is quick and attentive. The food is pretty tasty and well portioned. I tried their new everything ahi tuna sandwich. It was a bit overly sauced and was over cooked (supposed to be served rare, came medium well), but it was still so good! I bet it'll taste better rare and sauce on side. Good lunch spot. Dinner gets a bit crazy, especially during sox games.“
“Excellent dinner at Tryst restaurant last night. The shrimp taco and kale and Brussel beet salad were delicious. We both got the burger and it is amazing cooked to perfection good size 8 ounce burger with delicious french fries.we always sit on the bar side either at the bar on the high top, Great ambience drinks and bartenders Chuck and Denise“
“This place is, well, a tavern! But don't let that fool you, the food here is amazing quality, well seasoned, and delicious!Everything was great, no complaints here, would come back over and over again for their southern fried chicken & honey mustard salad. So good!!!“
“Despite being packed, the wait for a table wasn't long. It's nice to see a manager who's active with their staff and customers. He was waiting Tables and helping people to their seats. The waitress was accommodating and paid attention to my needs. I can not have potatoes, and she checked the ingredients on a soup for me without me asking and was able to let me know after I ordered it. The steak tips were out of this world. "Melt in your mouth deliciousness," and the broccoli had this tasty garlic butter, and the salad was made just right and was full of flavor. Best in-house dressing I've ever tasted. They need to sell that next!Dietary restrictions: They offer a gluten free menu.“
“Unexpectedly very good! Dropped a teenage grandchild off at school on a Sunday before the h.s. spring musical and drove off to downtown Waltham to look for a quick lunch. Parked in a nearly empty town parking lot (2 hrs for $2., a real bargain to us New Yorkers). Walked to Moody St., as usual no reservations, just yelp and hope. The first place we came to on the corner was BTT, looked like some decent vegetarian possibilities on the menu, so we went in. Took a couple of minutes but they did find seats for us (& it didn't fill up in the nearly an hour we were there, so not sure why they consulted over their reservations, but whatever). I ordered the avocado toast and added the 2 sunnyside up eggs option, thinking just avo toast wouldn't fill me, but I even told Niko, our server, that it was probably the best or definitely one of the best avocado toast dishes I've ever had (& it's a favorite of mine so I've had a few!). Two thick slices of a good rustic bread, chunky mashed avocado, greens, and then those perfect eggs - sooo delicious! The decaf coffees were fresh and good. Hubs had their black bean burger with fries and said it was really very good. There's an extensive beer menu, the place is pretty big, it's a college town, and we're guessing it's hopping in the evening, especially on weekends. Can't speak to that, but can say we had an amazing lunch!“
“My daughter recently moved to West Newton after opening a catering business on Spencer St. For payment for helping her move, she took me to the Bluebird. After being seated, we waited a 5 or 10 minutes for the waiter to appear and we ordered cocktails. He arrived with cocktails and told us they were on the house because we had to wait. I almost fell out of my seat. Talk about treating your customers like you want them to return. After that we enjoyed a nice meal in a very comfortable restaurant. If you’re in the Newton area, check this place out. I know that I’ll be back.“
“Great staff. Beautiful space. Room for large parties. Tuna Poke bowl gets mixed review. Farro and Seaweed salad have outstanding flavor. The tuna had almost no flavor. But if you like extremely mild fish, this had a generous portion of chunky tuna. Really enjoyed cocktail, French 75. It's the most tart lemon drink ever. Not for those with sweet tooth. Another guest was returning for her favorite, stuffed acorn squash. Tiramisu is taste bud Nirvana. Good coffee. We'll make a habit of The Local.“
“First time eating here and the food and presentation was perfect! Veggie burger with the seasoned fries was delicious! Flatbread pizza with figs was also enjoyed. Great live entertainment tonight, Nephrok. Great crowd of people. Service was busy but attentive as needed. Ambiance is perfect. So great to have this venue close to home!“
“Ordered my diner by phone calling about 5 minutes before the kitchen was closed and without looking in the menu. When I arrived in 15 minutes later, everything was ready and delicious! The cook is a wizard and the lady who runs the place is a smart and beautiful fairy god mother. She provided a very light and positive conversation.“
“Excellent place to drop in real quick and refuel. The chicken sammich is huge! My crew got burgers and I got the banh mi BBQ pork. It was delicious. The place was super busy and near capacity when we stopped in for an early din din. The food came out as it was ready all hot and steamy. We also got the fried pickles and buffalo tenders. Everything was yummmyyy...if we are in reading again, we will def be hitting this place up. The bar is also really cool, with a bunch of great local beers to choose from.Parking: The parking lot is a bit tight if they are busy, but it's manageable as there is on street parking as well.“
“MINI BOSTON! No, really, it could get quite overwhelming& confusing if you're a woman and/or a less-than-confident driver (I'm sure there are statistics regarding male vs female drivers, ie their lack of skill, perception, confidence in general with driving, and I'm a woman whom this applies to). Gorgeous buildings though, inside & out. Got a very mall kind of feel at the building/location I entered on foot, but like the quiet, calm alleys of a mall, where there isn't much foot traffic, and it's peaceful.“
“We had been to Omar's in the past to check out their amazing collection of anime, D&D fare and comics but we tried the bistro for the first time today. My son had the "DM" cheeseburger, my husband had the Falafel wrap, and I had the "Cluck Kent" grilled chicken sandwich. The food was incredible! Very fresh and all homemade down to the ketchup for the fries. The service was also incredible and our sever made sure to wipe down our table before we sat down to eat. We will definitely be going back soon!“
