“Found this hidden gem on Instagram one day and the birria tacos served here looked insane so of course I had to try it! The restaurant is small but the staff are super sweet. You can try and walk in; however, the place does fill up quickly so try and get a reservation if you can! Started off with an order of guacamole and chips with some salsa and upon first glance it looks pretty regular. But the first bite of the guacamole and you can feel how smooth and zesty it's been made. The salsa was also delicious with some heat! For entrees ordered the Al pastor burrito and of course the birria tacos. The burrito was massive and a very interesting take on a burrito as it was crispy and seared well unlike most burritos which are usually quick soft and floppy. But no flops here. Pair each bite with the guac or salsa and it's perfect moving on to the star of the show, why I came here! The birria looks amazing. I loved how crispy the fried cheese was. Similar to the burrito, most birria taco spots make a wet and floppy taco, but no flops here!! The meat was super tender and you can tell it's been stewed inside the consume for hours maybe even days?! Each bite was better than the last.My only warning is due be mindful of how much consume you're consuming as it's a little salty and you might not notice it until after you've left the restaurant or even the next day.“

“So glad we found this place!! Love the kimchi fritas with bulgogi beef, reminds us of our favorite place in Houston. The tteokbokki was standard goodness (a biiiit spicy and no fishcakes) but the tempura-ish seaweed on top was SOOO good. And the chicken taco was delicious!! The owner was very nice and doesn't speak a lot of English.“

“Finally made it to this local hotspot as it is always packed. We didn’t plan ahead enough for a reservation but walked in at 6pm and sat quickly at their small bar which was a nice experience. I had an Elderberry Margarita and the Suiza Chicken Enchiladas.“

“Was in the mood for a burrito and for some odd reason somerville hasn’t been it for burritos as of late… so I decided to look around and found this spot. Idk how long they have been open but decided to give it a shot based of the reviews. I can honestly say it’s one of the best burritos I’ve had in a very long time. All the employees are super nice and friendly. All the ingredients and vegetables and meats that they use is all fresh. One thing I absolutely love is that they grill the burrito for you without asking and to me that makes the burrito 100x times better. Definitely will be a returning customer!!!P.S. don’t forget the Horchata!!!“

“The service at this little hole in the wall is outstanding; friendly and fast. The food was a great value and very good. It was consistently busy the whole time we were there with a line basically out the door. I would definitely recommend this place but I cannot agree with the reviews about it being the "best" tacos ever and such. The tacos are really good as was the torta (sandwich) and they are a great value for the price. They are not the best or even close imho. Most folks are taking it to go as there are only like 5 tables. Definitely worth going to and I will go again for sure now that I found it!“

“First time experience was for brunch. Upon entry the hostess was unable to locate my party which arrived early and was seated. She told me to walk around and find them which I did. I love the outside patio seating, the overhead heaters made it very warm and comfortable. I waited a little over 30 min for my 1st beverage. The food came out rather quickly and was tasty. The drinks were good and plentiful. Our waiter Rudy was friendly & suggested items to try. He was very hospitable.“

“Absolute gem. Chicharron / pork chile verde tacos to die for - everything was fresh, including the chips and guacamole. Bang for your buck all around, for example they do not skimp out on the guacamole. Will definitely return, and check out their tortas next time as well.“

“Pretty good Mexican food. They’ve got spice just ask for extra. The pico de gallo has it. I like their burritos. Would be five star but they use like a rice a roni instead of true Mexican rice. Something about it but the flavor is just off. Otherwise I eat here all the time. It’s affordable.“

“Phenomenal tacos. The highlights are the nachos, crispy fried tofu taco, and torta with crispy fried tofu. But you really can’t go wrong! My only recommendation would be to getter napkins for dine-in. Tacos are super messy and the napkins are thin and tiny.“

“Don’t leave without getting the queso - I’m telling you. The crunch wrap supremo is so good I would recommend coming here a few times and trying different things before you order the crunch wrap because it is so outstanding you’ll have a hard time ordering anything else once you try it. Good service and great outdoor seating. The chairs inside are a little uncomfortable but I barely notice because the food is so delicious.I’ve only tried 2 drinks here, the spicy Margarita and the Paloma, I liked the spicy Margarita better.Parking: it’s difficult to find parking in this area. expect to walk around 5 minutes!“

“Saturday was our first time and we loved the very delicious food, the portions and the excellent quality. I have been working in restaurants for more than 10 years and I am strict when it comes to cleanliness and quality, but here my expectations were met, the music to our liking. It was very high but otherwise everything was very good. I hope they don't change the service. The waitress was very attentive and had a good attitude, helping us understand the menu! We hope to return“

“I love how the owner Lorenzo sometimes goes back to visit CDMX then comes back inspired with new dishes on the menu. The additions of shrimp cocktail and birria are both delicious!Rincon also does classic Mexican dishes like tacos, quesadillas, and burritos really well. They have my favorite fish tacos and enchiladas in mole on East Broadway! We wind up doing takeout often, but they have a really fun ambience when we have time to dine in. The patio is lovely in the summer, and sometimes you run into surprise mariachi and karaoke!“

“If you're looking for delicious tacos in the South End, look no further than this spot. From the moment we arrived for our reservation, we were impressed with the service. We were seated right away at a one-chair-one-booth table, and our waiter promptly took our drink order. The refreshing lemonades were the perfect complement to the flavorful tacos.Speaking of the tacos, we tried three different types and each one was a mouthwatering masterpiece. The first taco we had was the pork and duck, which was bursting with savory flavors. The chicken Colorado taco was equally as delicious, with a nice balance of spice and heat. And the brisket taco was cooked to perfection and melted in our mouths. One of the things we appreciated most about this restaurant was the speed at which our food arrived. Our tacos were delivered to our table as quickly as our drinks, making for a seamless dining experience. Additionally, the attentive staff made sure that all of our needs were met without us ever feeling rushed.Overall, we had a fantastic meal and would highly recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for tasty tacos and excellent service.“

“These are some of the nicest cocktails I have ever had, absolutely recommend the Mezcal. Get the pulpo and the plantains for a starter- they are out of this world. All flavors are insanely fresh, this place radiated high quality. Just go, you won’t regret anything you get.“
“New taqueria in Union Square with satisfying Mexican dishes. With so many Mexican spots in East Somerville, I initially perceived Picante as just another taqueria offering standard burritos, tacos, and quesadillas. I recently dropped by this place while walking my dog, and found the place empty during peak dinner hours. To my pleasant surprise, Picante offered special dishes like Carne Asada and Pollo Asado - both my go-to dishes at authentic Mexican restaurants.Since the restaurant looked like a standard counter-serve kitchen, I was surprised when they brought a huge slap of meat from downstairs and put it on the grill. It took quite a bit to get them prepared, but the wait was worth it. The chicken from Pollo Asado was exceptionally tender, complemented by a medley of fresh vegetable toppings. With the occasional coarse grain of salt, each bite was further enhanced by a delightful burst of salty umami. The Carne Asada, although slightly overcooked, remained a savory and enjoyable dish. With its subtle surprises and quality Mexican specialty plates, Picante is a place I would probably frequent more. The experience with their standard burritos and tacos may be a bit different, but these dishes are certainly worth trying.“

“It has fancy looking outdoor seatings good for chill drinks with mexican foods in the warm weather. Inside seatings and bars are good for watching sports games. Foods are generally good and well served. Price is a bit high. Some meter parkings are available by chance on Mass ave and the streets nearby. But they are usually crowded so not recommended during peak hours.“

“Pretty delicious fish tacos! I found the crepa de cuitlacoche a little bland, though. Their habanero hot sauce is my favourite in Boston! It has a kick but is balanced and not just a one-note sauce. The ambience is charming and authentic. I like the mural on one of the walls inside.“

“The staff kept the line moving very quickly, which can be challenging when you don't know what you want, but it makes up for it in a super tasty meal. Had a burrito and two tacos, and all 3 variants of meat were fantastic. The facility was also kept very clean throughout the kitchen ? expect $10-20 for food and an additional $10-20 if you're getting drinks. All in all, it was a great experience, and I will be coming back.“

“So I tried this place a few months back and I took one bite and gave it to a homeless guy. However I decided to give it a 2nd shot. I must say very impressed. The guacamole and rice needs more flavor but overall the rice bowl was on point. There was only one guy working (which I feel is a little bit of abuse especially were this is located in the heart of symphony & Berkelee College.) The line was out the door and the guy was handling online orders, in store orders and ringing them up. He deserves a raise for real! He did all of this with such ease and greeted us all with a smile.“

“I can't say enough good things about Fuego in Norwood! This local gem has quickly become my go-to spot for delicious, casual burritos, and I couldn't be happier to have it in my neighborhood.First and foremost, let's talk about the fact that Fuego is not your typical chain like Chipotle. While I appreciate the convenience of chains, there's something incredibly special about supporting a local establishment that puts heart and soul into their food. But what really sets Fuego apart is their exceptional customer service. On one recent visit, my family ordered our usual burritos, and they went above and beyond by throwing in some rice and beans for our toddler at no extra charge. It's these little local touches that make a big difference and keep us coming back for more. The location of Fuego couldn't be better either. Being close to the Norwood Common is a huge plus. It's the perfect spot to grab a quick, satisfying meal before or after enjoying the beautiful green space and events there. As for the food itself, Fuego never disappoints. The burritos are generously filled with fresh ingredients, and you can really taste the quality in every bite. Whether you're a carnivore, vegetarian, or anywhere in between, they have a variety of options to suit your taste buds.In summary, Fuego in Norwood deserves all the stars and then some. It's a local treasure that offers top-notch burritos, outstanding customer service, and a convenient location near the Norwood Common. If you're in the area and looking for a fantastic burrito experience, look no further than Fuego!“

“Great fast/casual restaurant. Low-key atmosphere. We got 4 tacos and the avocado fries. The avocado fries had breading that wasn't that exiting, but it came with a cilantro ranch that was wonderful. I got the vegetable taco, my husband got the pork belly taco and we each got a pastor taco. Each were very good. Excited to try some different tacos next time! There were many other types to choose from. The service was prompt. We had a nice meal and a nice time today. I'd love to try some of the tasty sounding beverages they had on the menu next time. Will certainly go back. The restaurant is in the Norwood center area - it doesn't have it's own parking, but there is quite a bit of street parking and a lot of public lots within walking distance.“

“Came here for the vegan options and was satisfied. Pleasantly surprised even. Love that they label the vegan items on the menu and that their refried beans are vegan. “A small little spot for a quick Mexican bite. Portions are good. I'd hoped my burrito came with some chips on the side like most other places do, but at least the burrito was filling. Had my burrito had just 15-20% more steak I would've given max stars. All in all still very good. I placed my order in English and my parents were able to place theirs in Spanish just as easily thanks to the bilingual staff. It's a small thing, but I appreciate it!“

“Very small space, but the decor is cute. There are only three tables, so not good for large parties. I recommend taking to-go. The bulgogi beef burrito is my favorite. The sauces are good, and it is filling. I haven’t been here in years, so I am not sure if the quality is the same.“

“Jan 2024: After having no good Mexican food across most of the south shore (weymouth, Rockland, etc.), this place was a relief. Food is excellent. We got the chicken flautas, Benedict, Breakfast chimichanga, one fist taco and one coconut shrimp taco. The brunch items were the best. The two tacos almost felt like they were missing flavor. Either way, we will be back for the brunch stuff for sure!“

“Went for Valentine’s Day dinner - overall, a really great meal!My first impression was that there was so much more seating than you’d think just walking in from the street. Cute decor, friendly servers. When we went there was a DJ spinning vinyl, and I really liked his music selections. I’m not sure if this was just for Valentine’s Day but it was a great touch. For two people, we ordered:A tequila margarita with grasshopper rimA mezcal margarita with grasshopper rimChicken EnmoladasCochinita PibilChips and GuacamoleThe great:- The drinks! I thought the cocktails were excellent, and the grasshopper rim is unusual for greater Boston but a delicious and memorable touch- The ambiance. Great music! Great decor!- The service was professional and quick, and they use those QR code receipts that let you pay on your phone. The good:- The food. The presentation is beautiful and the food was very good. However, as many have said, the portions are surprisingly small for the price on everything we ordered and saw. Additionally, while I thought what we ordered was delicious, I’ve had the same dishes at other local restaurants that were as good or better but cheaper and with larger portions.Overall, I’d definitely recommend BARRA, but in my opinion it’s better suited for drinks and maybe a light snack than a meal, given the portions and price point.“

“I traveled in from DC. After a nice trip and settling at a hotel down the road I was looking for a bite to eat. I decided upon Mexican so I headed over to the Painted Burro. I was greeted warmly upon entry. I was impressed with the setting’s decor and style. They had a choice of bar seating and the dining room. I elected a booth. It had a high-end Southwest feel but not exactly Mexican. The food selections were not exactly as great as I was hoping for and they were more of a twist on traditional Mexican. I had the chorizo empanadas and chicken tacos ?. The chips and salsa seemed like they were from a bag and jar. Not freshly made in taste. The chorizo empanada wasn't bad. It was tasty and had wonderful presentation. Then I seemed to wait forever for the tacos. They came on a plate which was very hot to the touch. The presentation was excellent however, they were very difficult to eat, because the tortilla was very thin and greasy. The greasy tortilla took away from the flavor of the food. The server was attendant and was able to pack everything up that I had not eaten to go. When the bill came, I was shocked to see that not just tipping the server that I was required to pay a mandatory fee to the kitchen staff which I wasn't happy with, however, that may be something they do here in Massachusetts. Overall with the tip, the bill for these two things and a glass of water came to almost $50. Would I come again… I'm not sure I'll leave that choice up to you.I traveled from DC.
