“Our food was great, though my meatloaf was a little dry so I needed to ask for more gravy. My friend had the chicken masala and thought it was very tasty. My only complaint was we both felt rushed. Our server came half way during our meal and asked if we wanted containers. We weren't even done eating. She also asked if we wanted dessert. We weren't sure, and yet she brought our check over. She also came back twice to grab it and we still hadn't looked at it. She seemed nice and pleasant. I have a feeling we were her last table before her shift ended and she wanted to leave.“

“Holy cow, just got the Prime rib at take out, and it was definitely worth it. The young man at the take out also asked if I wanted some corn bread too. Great customer service! Nice variety of food items. Would love to try the delicious desserts too! Love the yummy pictures on Facebook which helped me today place my order. “Amazing, historic, locally-owned Mattapoisett hot spot serving amazing seafood and sushi. Legit, city-level quality with friendly and local staff. It is a must-do experience but be prepared to wait - it is definitely worth it. They have an excellent take out operation as well however.“

“Good Food I was very pleasantly surprised by this inconspicuous little restaurant. It was really hard to decide what to order. There were so many choices-pizza, pasta, seafood, steak, prime rib and some unexpected dishes like lobster ravioli. I had deliciously creamy clam chowder loaded with potatoes and tender clams, perfectly cooked scallops and warm bread pudding loaded with whipped cream. Everything was delicious, and our waitress was attentive and friendly. Prices are quite reasonable. Definitely worth the drive. Thanks“

“The service was superb. I ordered the Junior steak thinking I would get a small portion. It was quite a generous portion. The steak was perfectly cooked to order. The fries and rice were tasty. I enjoyed a side garden salad with the white Zinfandel dressing. It did not disappoint.“

“This venue was exactly what we were hoping for! The food and staff were incredible, and the venue offered a comfortable space for a large group of people. Many of our guests commented on how nice it was to not be "stuck" at their table since there was plenty of standing/seating room by the bar, upstairs with games, outside, and in cocktail hour space, yet you were never far from anything. Merrill's has everything you could possibly need for a wedding. Our coordinator RJ was awesome and made sure everything was perfect. Wish we could do it again!“

“First time. I had the seafood platter. Really good portion size. The scallops, clams, fish and shrimp were battered and cooked to perfection. All of it tasted really fresh, the scallops and clams had that sweetness that only comes from fresh seafood. Definitely a do over. There were several things on the menu that I would like to try. “Bayside is a restaurant/bar, or I should say a bar/restaurant. It's not a beautiful interior and no quiet romantic dining here. Many customers seem to be local regulars and I find it to be a friendly place. Every food item I have ordered has been fantastic. Their burgers are very good but their seafood is some of the freshest tasting that I have found in the New Bedford area. Most dishes are served with either fries or tater tots and they are great too.“

“I came here before an evening meeting for work. Perfect place to take myself out to dinner! The food was delicious, and the service was great. Atmosphere was very low key and gave me the perfect opportunity to sit, relax, and prepare for my meeting.“

“Security guard and receiving manager were pleasant as i sat here for 6+ hours trying to wait for my reefer to drop to -10 in 90+degree heat! Heads up make sure your reefer trailer is at -10 or colder BEFORE you get here or you will sit outside the gate waiting before even being allowed to back into the door! Business sits on a one way that ends at the water so you can't turn around til you hit the dock. Docks are a little tight but can be negotiated. Really Just make sure that temp is right!“

Looked king like large steak n cheese egg rolls , also got some fried pickles and a hash brown with bacon and gold Fever sauce appetizer. Also tried the cheese burger which was pretty good. Unfortunately, they forgot to put the cheese on the sandwiches and we reminded them about the fries (they forgot about it bc of mixing up our order with someone else's). An honest mistake that can happen anywhere, so no big deal! The fish sandwiches were delicious, large pieces of fish and served on buttered rolls! The fries were very good too! I'll be back for sure! From the outside, the place looks like an ice cream shack that wouldn't have a dining room inside, but it indeed does! Very nice and cozy atmosphere that makes you feel welcome! “I've never had a bad meal from Gene's! Brought my dad here for the first time while I was visiting and he loved it. Only took us five minutes to get our food. When we first got there, we were the only ones and by the time we left people were waiting. It's a typical casual restaurant with average noise, but you don't go there for the atmosphere.“

I got the lobster roll with fries and the roll had plenty of chunky lobster and the fries were hot and tasty. My fiancé got the fish sandwich and fries and the sandwich was hot, fresh and the piece of fish was a good size. We ate there - there are 3 covered picnic tables. We would both go again.“

I will definitely get that again. The service was very good. They were friendly and on the ball!! When I first got there, I was the only one there. That was fine, I was meeting my friend there. Came for the first time tonight, and regardless of my two bartenders, (Lucille & Devan), having never seen me before, they made me feel like a familiar regular. The food was great, the prices more than fair, and the service was professional, fun and welcoming.
