“This is a small "hole in the wall" restaurant. Parking is behind the building. We almost didn't go because the last review was in Feb. 2021. Restaurant seems to do mostly take out business while we were there. It only seats about 10 or 12 people. My husband and I both enjoyed the sandwiches we ordered. They are prepared while you are there, so its no fast in and out. I ordered the chicken salad and it was good, but not superb. My husband had the pastrami and rye and he enjoyed his sandwich.“

“I have a lot of good things to say, and then just minor critiques that don't necessarily hurt my experience.Mateo is a very very lovely server. He definitely reinforces the "intimacy" of this restaurant's vibe. If the owner reads this, tell Mateo we really enjoyed our night with him waiting on us! He was polite, caring, gentle and soft-spoken. A beautiful personality to run front of house! HOWEVER it took him a very very long time to check in on how we liked our food, and I was nearly done with my entire course before I got to tell him that my second side never came out of the kitchen. The food was great! The Mac N Cheese was for sure the star of the show. The portion sizes are WELL worth the cost!! And while I did enjoy the Ribeye - I would have to say it was definitely a little over seasoned. Not unbearable (the flavor was great, I still ate the steak) but it can definitely be toned down just a little bit, because that first bite was definitely a kick to my mouth and then once I had that expectation for thr next bite it was a little easier. For dessert, the cheesecake was unavailable. But that's because the kitchen was working on adding new desserts, my table had the Strawberry Cornbreads, a Mange & Hazelnut Gelato. I was eating the Hazelnut Gelato and oh...my...god. PUT IT ON THE MENU !!! It was SOOOOO good! If I ever go again I think I would always go back to the Gelato over a cheesecake. Seriously. It was phenomenal and I want the kitchen to know they did a fantastic job on the flavor! If it wasn't for my second side coming late, and the over abundant seasoning on the ribeye, 5 Stars.I would still high-key recommend this place to anyone. And to TRY THE HAZELNUT GELATO !!! ?“

“Been coming here for about 10 years and it's the only spot I go to for Spanish food. In my opinion they give so much for a very reasonable price. The owner is very kind and friendly. I believe his family works the place with him. I usually get the same thing every time, but everything I've tried is delicious!“

Shakago Bar • $$

“My lady and I thoroughly enjoyed the drinks, service and music at this fine establishment! We popped in unexpectedly after work to find a wonderful bartender named Laura serving super sized Martinis and delicious pints of Beer. Earlier in the evening they also offer a few $3 small plate apps, which is nice to match with the killer beverages. I can't say enough about the hospitality we encountered at Shakago, simply outstanding! So warm on a cold night, best drinks ever and the lit candles also warmed our hearts. Karaoke started shortly after arriving, and the two guys running the gig were also very pleasant, not to mention that they both had such soulful sounds they could make grown men weep. I fealt bold enough to sing a song...or three while there, and the sound system and ambience even turned me into a solid performer, lol. We were lucky to encounter a birthday party being set up by one of their regulars, so my lady inquired, ended up chatting with the guy named Donny. He was bringing his girlfriend back in an hour or so, with the intent to surprise her on her birthday, and he sure did! We stayed for awhile dancing and laughing the start of the night, and seriously had a blast. You won't find better drinks, warmer people and smoother moods that here. Thanks Shakago for the excellent time had on an off night in Springfield, we'll be back.“

“We had the BEST night out for my sisters birthday! While I have been to this fine establishment many times, most of the others in our party of 16 had not. Everything was perfection. Not a single complaint on the food, cocktails or service. Thank you Andrew and crew for accommodating my fam in such a gracious way!“

“Very busy on a Friday early evening, parking challenging as their lot was full at 5:30, and side streets are mostly one way, but that's Holyoke. Service was exemplary - everything came out quickly. My companion had striped bass, a special, and said it was wonderful . I had the short rib which was outstanding despite a bit of fat, which is to be expected. Fried oysters great, flourless chocolate torte very good. Good selection of wine by the glass, and unusually generous pour. Atmosphere lively, pretty loud in the bar area, but nonetheless fun.So nice to have a place like this in downtown. Will return for sure.“

“We've been to Memo's several times and they never disappoint! I had the tuna club (they use solid white). It was really good! Nice fresh lettuce and tomato, bacon, nice and crispy. Plenty of delicious tuna! I got a side order of fries, which were good too. Hubby got the lunch special, spaghetti and meatballs that came with a salad. He said it was very good. Passed on dessert as I was only able to eat half my sandwich. Their limoncello cake is to die for!!It can be noisy when they are busy but we got there about 11:15 so it pretty quiet. Will go back again!Parking: Parking can be an issue when you go in at peak times. There is on street parking but not sure if there's meters or not.“

“i just wanted to share this because i went to lunch with my friends. it’s a little much for a SMALL plate of friend pickles cost more than the wings??? (pickles cost $10 and the wings cost $8) especially when the wings don’t come with celery or carrots?? love coming here but I feel there are some more items that need to have a price change due to the small amounts served“
