“We were definitely under dressed but stopped here on a whim and it was a good experience. We will definitely be back. My son had a dairy and soy allergy and I don’t eat dairy and they were beyond amazing with allergies. They can really accommodate anyone with an allergy! We will for sure be back. It was also very big portions and reasonably priced. Kids meal is only $8!Dietary restrictions: They are great with any allergy precautions!“

Connecticut Valley Brewing Company Brewery • $$
765 Sullivan Ave, South Windsor

“This place exceeded my expectations. The ambiance was quite friendly and relaxing. The fries with the dipping sauces were to die for. The IPA's were very solid and I heard the strawberry lemonade was top notch. My only complaint would be to have a milkshake IPA on the beer list but beggars can't be choosers. Overall, this place is top notch, especially when you have great company.“

Nomads Adventure Quest New American • $$

“My department recently traveled to CT and we wanted to have a casual gathering outside of work one night. A coworker recommended Nomads and I was able to easily coordinate with them over email. The venue is spacious, clean and hosted a large of variety of options. The mini golf and laser tag were huge hits with our group. All staff, from laser tag attendants to the bartender, were friendly and welcoming. I definitely recommend Nomads for group events—whether for kids or adults.Huge shout out to Megan from their events team! Because I was not local and traveling throughout the week, she was extremely patient and kind despite the gaps when I was able to commit with her. She really went above and beyond!!!“

Red's Tavern American • $$
100 Bidwell Rd, South Windsor

“Went there very recently, the band was great. Service was horrible. Takes at least 15-20 minutes to get a drink or soda. Your food forget it. Went to the bar to get a pitcher of beer and the bartender turned her back and walked away. She looked like she was high on something. She reminded me of a pill freak. Money all over the bar and moving slow as hell. I would highly recommend employee drug testing. Was not very happy at all“

“We had a party of 3 so tried everything on the menu and we loved it. The roasted squash was probably the star of the show. All of the entrees were nicely sized portions and well executed. The butterscotch pudding was great. Service was also top notch. Angie took great care of us and I would request her great service next time we come in. This concept is truly special and I hope it flourishes.“

“Best steak I've had anywhere in CT. Took it to-go and it was still perfect when I got it home. Maple cream cheese Flan with scorched marshmallows was uniquely flavorful. Fast bar service while waiting with good local choices. Can't wait to come back with family.“

“The food is insanely good. My friend and I dine at Trumbull Kitchen before we attend Hartford Stage, and she was still extolling her dinner on the drive home after the show. She had the marinaded steak. The best thing was the response to her request to replace the fries with veggies. The choices were plentiful, and the side salad that arrived was gorgeous. My dinner was equally delicious, seared tuna with salad. Yummy and beautifully plated. The salad dressing (served on-the-side) was exquisite. We each had reasonably priced glasses of wine.Julian, our waiter was running, as was everyone on staff when it became crazy busy at around six o'clock. The bar was hopping and there was a line waiting to be seated. Yet, he checked on us every 5 to 10 minutes and made sure we were well supplied with the spicy, chip-like crackers that come in the bread basket and are irresistible. If there is one negative, it is the very loud sound system which pumps in thumping music that you might want as background for a weight-lifting class at the gym, rather than for dining. I am sure there is a metric that tells restaurants and bars that people drink more if they can't hear themselves think. Personally, I find it offensive. If I could have done, I'd have changed the selection and turned down the volume.“
