“I really enjoyed my visit to Maine Beer Co. I will definitely come back next time I'm in this part of the country. The beers were excellent, the atmosphere was great, and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. While I did not have pizza while I was there, that have a good menu as well. The patio is dog friendly.”

“We loved everything about this cute, cozy place! The gluten free bread is the lightest, fluffiest, most delicious gluten free bread I've ever had. The soup of the day (potato & garlic) was amazing. Lots of good GF and vegetarian options as well, including an entire case of gluten free baked goods!! My friends ordered "non-GF" sandwiches and they were equally as wonderful. Staff is extremely hard working and very friendly. We can't wait to return!”

“Awesome experience at the Freeport Oyster Bar tonight! The bar tender, Sarah, was great at making sure we had everything we needed. We tried a bunch of the “Share” items. The menu was well curated from local vendors and we had a ton of fun with this menu. Get a bunch of oysters, drink some local beer, and eat local food! We will be back!”

“Nice atmosphere and good coffee. Great selection of flavors and they have a few different roasts available. One of the coolest things is that they have coffee ice cubes for their ice drinks!”

“I love the people, atmosphere, menu, and beer here. Top 3 Greater Portland breweries in my book. Half pours (8oz) make it easy to sample the goods. Afternoons are so chill for meeting friends and the kids, playing a game or two and just kicking back. My 14 year old said "This is the kind of food that makes you want to ignore your brain telling you that your stomach is full so you can keep eating".”

“We thought the food was really good but the service wasn't very great. Our waitress (Marianne) was abrupt, rude and slightly condesending. My husband asked for a certain drink and when he got it, it didn't taste right. When he spoke up our waitress brushed him off and made a rude comment to him. “Not gonna lie ..... the older reviews made me a little nervous. But we took a chance and had an amazing time. Im not sure if it's purely adult oriented, but our 6 and 7 year olds had so much fun. There were quite a few other kids there all enjoying the show.The food was really good. Maybe because my expectations weren't that high, but the portions were good and everything we had was delicious. No complaints on the food.The only real thing I could complain about was the expense. It was a bit pricey, but I totally understand why.Overall, IMHO, I'd give the experience an A-, B+. Im no expert critic, but the fact that my daughter is still upstairs signing about the best day ever and my son is running around with a wand yelling expelliarmus, i have to say it was a welcome and enjoyable experience ?”

“Never had frozen custard before. It was so good! We found it as we were driving through. My kids got the traditional flavor of vanilla and chocolate and I got maple blueberry. It was very yummy! And the portions are big! They had many traditional and also unique flavor choices. Will definitely give your kids that sugar high!”

“I was staying at the hotel across the street. I was not expecting more than a Maine taco (which is crazy incomprehensible) but... I had the best So-Cal carne asada in Maine. Wow. Not only was the food great but I made so many friends at the cantina that can't believe it. What wonderful people! Great times, great place, great people. I will be back. Viva la Freeport!”

“I got orange chicken and wonton soup, which were both delicious. They were nice enough to take my order shortly before they closed. I didn't realize things close early in the area, even on the weekends.”

“Been here twice two years apart. A classic Maine / New England tavern for decent seafood and American grub. Loud and busy, as a tavern should be. Food is nothing astonishing but if you are visiting Maine, this is a nice place to experience the tavern environment.”

“A decent place, during my visit it took about 20 minutes to get my breakfast (late saturday, around 1100) which felt a little too long. The eggs bene were slightly undercooked as well. Menu is a little limited. Interior was tidy, pleasant and cheerful. Staff were all very friendly. Not sure if this or the Freeport Cafe is better. Inclined tor try the latter again.”

“Hailey made our wedding cake and it was absolutely amazing! All three flavors tasted incredible and the design was phenomenal. We talked to a few other bakeries when we were planning and Hailey was by far the quickest to get us a quote and answer all our questions, but what I liked most about XO bakery was that we could have any frosting flavors and still have an all white cake. Hailey was able to accommodate our GF guests with GF cupcakes.”

“There are so many great family-owned ice cream stands and cafes with homemade ice cream or famous Maine-made ice cream in my neck of the Maine woods (and seashore) that a chain normally pales in comparison, but Ben & Jerry's is good anywhere. I got their Coffee, Coffee BuzzBuzzBuzz (creative name) and added chocolate sprinkles to it because Ben & Jerry's has the best chocolate sprinkles ever.”

“This place has amazing options for healthy choices as well as indulgent! Check out their happy hour specials too! I got a $9.00 meal and a $5.00 margarita that was Incredible and satiating. I was nice and full and satisfied. One of the best places in Freeport Maine! Nicest staff that make you feel home ❤️”

“Decent espresso. It was not as amazing as I would have wanted given the quality of the coffee shop it came from. The shop has a nice layout, amazing atmosphere, and pretty darn good workers. However the espresso left a bit to be desired in strength and flavor.I had a pastrami sandwich later in the day that was…..PHENOMENAL. No complaints there. That lunch was amazing. Just wish my espresso double shot had been more inspiring.”

“I’ve come here multiple times. The first 2 times I came in, the store was very busy and my order got messed up - small things, such as being given the wrong size. They were so nice about it and gave me gift cards for next time to correct this. Staff here are always so friendly and welcoming. They were also very accommodating during the recent storm as myself and many others were riding out the power outage here to get some work done, they came around with drink samples of new things, offered people water, and even watched my laptop so I could use the restroom without worrying about packing everything up. These are great people.Parking: There are only a couple parking spots in a cramped back lot. However there is the much larger LL Bean lot close by if you’re willing to walk.”

GRITTY'S in Freeport IS BETTER!!!I was happy since I had not been to Gritty's in a few years.The French fries with the Fish and Chips (not nearly enough provided, but it was okay) were not only gross, but they were soggy, greasy, and tasted like old fryer oil. That was my only disappointment because...My Husband's meal (Lamb Burger, delivered simultaneously) had COMPLETELY different FRIES, and THEY WERE FRESH, not soggy or greasy, and had NO fryer oil taste.I have never understood why people put fries UNDER fish and chips.Parking: They have a private parking lot.”

“The food was delicious. Our table ordered chicken tenders, a cheese pizza, an athenian pizza (pictured), and a meatball grinder. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. The french fries were perfect. I look forward to returning. The only small downfall was the service was a bit slow; but it won’t keep me from going back.Parking: Plenty of on-site parking on the side and around the back of the building.”
