“Walking up to the establishment there were people waiting outside. They were very efficient and seated us surprisingly quickly. Decor has a European feel very clean with large windows in and out. You can watch them baking pastries. The drinks were wonderful and beautiful, food was delicious, fresh and inspirational with dishes with combinations that you wouldn’t expect, but worked well together and were well-balanced. It shows they have a passion for their craft.“
“So glad an amazing bread bakery opened one block from my apartment. My partner is celiac and there is absolutely no gluten inside the house. I have been known to make sweet&sour cabbage soup and then run down to the bakery to buy a fresh (and still warm) baguette to enjoy with it while I sit on the front stoop.Incredible croissants (all of them). The challah, focaccia, sourdough, and rye are great too. ( I just now realized how often I go).I used to make my own sourdough breads but obviously had to give them up when I fell in love with my partner. Barack said if that ever changed, he would get me some sourdough starter. Such a nice guy.“
“what a Gem, probably the best breakfast sandwich I have ever had. The staff were so friendly, the highlight was being walked through the pastries and cakes made by their insanely amazing and talented baker. I cannot express how good the pastries were, we ended up bringing a bunch back to Nova Scotia. would 10/10 recommend a visit here.“
“I wish you could ship to where I live ...everything was so delicious...I had the a lemon tart an this roll with an almost toffee consistency on top and nuts...I wasn't even hungry!? That's what's crazy...I thought id save for later....lol didn't even make it to Salem....so good!!!“
“This is a fun little bakery! Despite being small they had so many options of pastries. I got a blueberry danish, pulled pork pop tart, key lime pie and a jalapeño sausage roll. We also got a vegetable rice ball, which was really fun. The danish was my favorite item! It was super good. My boyfriend thought the sausage roll could have had more sausage (was just a sausage wrapped in pastry). The pulled pork pop tart was pretty good and similar with the key lime pie. The staff were beyond friendly and nice. I will definitely be stopping by this bakery every time I am in Portland!“
“I just want to go here everyday until I’ve tried every pastry. This spot is super cute, in the best neighborhood in Portland (don’t fight me). The staff were all incredibly kind and welcoming. The pastries all looked so amazing it was hard to choose! I ended up getting the pistachio croissant, was was topped with a hard shell of dark chocolate and chopped pistachios, and filled with a great pistachio paste (similar to an almond croissant). It was incredibly decedent but so delicious. I worked at a very prestigious French bakery, and I prefer Belleville’s croissant to any that I had while working there.I appreciate their traditional coffee menu, too, which works so great any of the pastries.I’ll absolutely be back!!“
“I’m obsessed with this place. They have really high quality authentic Asian sauces and spices, and alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages. They also carry cook books and merch. In addition to grocery items, they sell homemade baked goods and drinks. I’m obsessed with their hojicha latte. I love matcha latte but I’ve never had any other kind of green tea latte. I tried their hojicha green tea latte and I’m hooked. It’s a bit nutty and has less caffeine than a matcha latte, which is perfect for a midday pick-me-up. The staff are really nice and I’ve had a pleasant experience every time I’ve gone in. It’s really great to have more diversity of Asian focused groceries and bakery in Portland!P.s. they even have a congee bar!“
“We were in the mood for a very light dinner and some dessert, so we sought out Gross Confection Bar. It is underground and dimly lit with a super sexy vibe, but they happily welcomed us with our toddler. We got the two charcuterie boards to fill us up, and it was a solid idea. Lots of delicious meat and cheese to try. The desserts, clearly homemade, were delicious. I couldn't decide which one I liked more. They were both so inventive and the perfect portion so that we wouldn't feel gross afterwards. I adored the bean mousse on the semifredo! It's a unique bar and I would recommend stopping here after dinner for light bites. Meat and cheese charcuterie boards Honey semifredo Creme brulee The bling ring (yuzu, honey, peach, and orange nonalcoholic drink)“
“My partner and I live close to Katies and it is always amazing in terms of food and service. The sandwiches are fresh, healthy, and are sold at great prices (especially for their quality and being located in Portland). Oh my and I almost forgot to mention their baked goods.. so so yummy and you can taste the real ingredients. We love and appreciate you Katie’s!!“
“Was recommended this spot by a barber at (Blind Pig - which is also an amazing spot if you need a haircut). immediately rushed right over to try and make it before they closed. WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED AT ALL. omg these donuts are so so so so good. if you’re in Portland and have a sweet tooth, DEFINITELY CHECK THIS PLACE OUT! ????“
“We had a brief one night stop on our Maine roadtrip. Asked recommendations about local beer place in our dinner spot The Highroller Lobster. Girl pointed to the Maps. We had one beer each, but the bartender knew milliliters (which is odd and great at the same time). The Commodores LP was spinning and fullfilling Tuesday's eve experience. I am from Lithuania, so I did not liked the map with soviet union, even I understand this is a piece of history, but it should be hanging in restroom or somewhere in less respectful place. Great beer and atmosphere overall.“
“Beautiful and busy... just the way it should be!I thought that the line was surprisingly quick in its progression. Usually when I walk into a place and see half a dozen children pointing to a menu above their heads while surrendering to their overwhelming ADD... I turn around and come back later. In this case, I hardly made up my mind before the Coastal Creamery staff worked through each child's order. The smell of fresh baked cookies was hard to walk away from as well.My only knock on this ice cream shop is that for my personal preference the ice cream's texture was a little to "icey" and not enough "creamy". But the flavors were prevalent throughout and I think if you're looking for a good ice cream pitstop while on Commercial Street in Portland, your search needs to begin and end with Coastal Creamery!!“
“I have been using Tally's catering on Steven's Ave for large cooperate events for about two years. It is high time I write a review. They are life savers! Everyone asks where my catering is from, and compliments the special attention made to allergies, and food preferences. Julie is a joy to work with, the food is always on time, labeled, and displayed beautifully. They work within my budget (difficult to find in Portland) and I am always impressed. You should hire them.“
“We ordered a birthday cake after the birth of our granddaughter, so last Minute order. They were very accommodating and the vanilla layer cake with buttercream frosting was absolutely delicious. Very nicely decorated with sprinkles even though their decorator was not available“
“Dina's is BY FAR my favorite place to eat in Portland. Whenever I decide to treat myself, I make sure to stop by Dina's and get two Spicy Chicken Shawarma Wraps. The food is so good and you get a lot for what you pay for. I like that the food is affordable. I LOVE that it is SO GOOD. Although the shawarma is my go to, the Saji and falafel are also amazing. Most importantly, the staff have always been incredibly kind to me and I appreciate the small conversations I have with them. I have been to Dina's a dozen times and don't plan on stopping.Vegetarian options: When I first went to Dina's, I was a vegetarian. I was surprised by how good their falafel was despite the affordable price. Highly recommend!“
“Of all the bakeries and coffee shops my husband and I tried on our trip to Portland, Tamdem was our favorite! The Americano was delicious and the salted coconut maple scone was one of the best I've ever had with the perfect crunchy texture on the outside and soft inside. I also tried the blood orange scone, which tasted a bit pithy to me. There was a line at 11:00 on a Saturday, but it moved quickly and there was plenty of seating outside.“
