Sadly the lamb appetizer was over cooked and the prime rib was chewy. Not great. It was also served with burnt hummus. Our waitress was good to me but seemed irritated with us that the steak wasn’t great. We won’t be rushing back any time soon. But we love Detroit and trying new restaurants.“

Gavin was our server, and he made great recommendations and was very knowledgeable about the wine list. We had a fun chat about the Culinary Institute of America. And he shared his love of food and wine. The menu is extensive, and all of the food was heavenly. We had the most delicious steaks (cooked to perfection), crab, fresh vegetables with creamy rich sauces, mushrooms were fabulous, and the risotto was perfection! We had strawberries flambé, lemon tart, and crème brûlée. They were all perfectly balanced with rich and bold flavors. The meal was perfectly paced, and Gavin made our evening very special. “Haven’t been here in a few years due to never being in the area but was in the area last Saturday so made reservations for dinner beforehand. We intended to just ask one of the servers if he could alert our server we were ready to order but he ended up taking our order for us rather then having us wait and he was very helpful with the menu and very informative. We also met I believe the supervisor or manager after he came to our table and he too was very personable and kind. My husband and I really enjoyed the food and the vibe of the restaurant itself was lively and welcoming. Great drinks! We've had a lot of M&C and this, by far was the best!! They use heavy cream plus different cheeses and the result is *Heaven in a Crock." I'm not kidding. We made a reservation for Saturday evening, place was not packed we were seated in the downstairs area by the bar clean neat decor with NOLA vibes. Our server was great she recommended the oysters based on your preference and suggested the beef tartar as an appetizer. For main dish we opted for shrimp risotto and chefs special that evening was sea-bass with crusted vegetables. Outstanding fish was buttery and flaky and risotto had ton of flavor. Dessert was an interesting combination of sponge cake soaked up with caramelized pears just wow!! They also have a live jazz music upstairs. Great experience absolutely worse a drive. “Nicks country oven is the best restaurant I’ve been to in a long time. I stopped in for my lunch break and ordered the gyro omelette with freshly cut potatoes, white toast and coffee. Everything tasted so fresh and delicious. The staff is absolutely friendly and always have the biggest smiles on their faces. I felt so welcomed. I’m happy I found this restaurant and will be making this my regular spot for the days I forget my lunch for work. (Hopefully I forget my lunch more often). “The Polish Yacht Club's Walleye and Perch are some of the best in all of Detroit (only Andrew's competes and it's a bit more expensive). It's a large portion that's cooked perfectly and tastes incredibly fresh (a rarity around here, but I won't name names). It's fried, but not greasy at all, and it's flaky because it's fresh (no squishy fish here, thank God) Every dinner is served with pickles, coleslaw, French fries and soup so the value is ridiculous. They also don't lack condiments (malt vinegar included) which I appreciate. The inside of the Yacht Club genuinely looks like the Cigar Lounge of a Country Club. I love it. Small, casual with old school elegance. And the service gives off that same vibe. It's like you're in a cigar lounge only with no smoking and excellent food. It's almost identical to my family's recipe! Baby this bread was delicious! I haven't tasted the baked sweet potato yet but I'm sure it's good as well. I've previously had rib tips. I didn't care for those.
