Since that first meatball sub I have had almost every sandwich on the menu and so far not one has disappointed! Today I had the Corner Deli and was transported to Italian paradiso! In case you non-Italians did not know, ciabatta is the Italian baguette and Rocco's bakes many fresh loaves several times per day! Usually it is still warm from the oven even if you get a cold sandwich! There is no better sandwich bread in my progenic-Italian opinion! They are in Midtown on Cass just East of Mack. Then I had the German traditional breakfast which consisted of fresh baked rye bread, alp blossom cheese, a chilled soft boiled egg, speck prosciutto, apple butter ands apple jam. The Andrea Bocelli inspired spaghetti carbonara and lamb shank were perfect! The menu offers a large variety of items, we will definitely revisit (but next time no apps as they’re filling, along with the free bread given as well). The restaurant is kid friendly, and plenty of high chairs are available.The only complaint I have is I was leaving the restaurant with a stroller, and the doors don’t have automatic open functions and many staff were at the front desk chatting and using their cell phones which was unprofessional.“
