“There are not enough stars to rate Katie’s. I needed a place to accommodate a large but unconfirmed number of guests for my husband’s retirement lunch. I spoke with Janelle a few times and she listened to everything I had to say. I was concerned about people traveling from all over and not having a precise headcount. We opted for a reservation in the main dining area and Janelle, Simon and the entire staff exceeded every expectation I could have had. They helped move tables around as more people showed up, they gave great food recommendations and were overall just very helpful and personable. They even treated our group to complimentary tiramisu and ricotta donuts. The mascarpone crema was incredible. I don’t know when we will be back in St. Louis but Katie’s is already on the agenda! “Fantastic dinner at Paul Manno’s, possibly one of the best Italian restaurants in St. Louis. I felt like i had been transported straight to Italy for dinner. Ambiance 10/10. Definitely make a reservation, they fill up fast!

We got the lasagna and rack of lamb. Lasagna was fantastic, as expected. I was slightly hesitant in ordering the lamb, just because I had never had it. It did not disappoint! Melted in my mouth and the hints of lemon were delicious.

For dessert, tiramisu of course. Very good and light tiramisu , not too chocolately or overpowering. Perfect tiramisu texture.

“I love this place! I have been several times and ordered several different plates and each one of them absolutely crushes it! I had the pizza with the white sauce and omg game changer! Service is always great only complaint is the parking but last time I was there I parked a block away and walked because it IS WORTH the walk! “My husband has been dying to try Katie's for some time now. We made our way here excited to experience real, fresh, delicious Italian food. Instantly walking up there's a nice outdoor vibe, not overly fancy, but very pleasant with outdoor lights, plenty of shaded area, plants for decor, and seating for various group sizes. The inside is also a fresh and modern decor. You're instantly greeted to be seated inside or out. I noticed right away their branding, pasta to cook at home and sauces for sale. The pasta is near white, which you know means it's real! So we knew we were in for a treat. Upon being seated we looked over the menu and couldn't decide what to try (note: there is a lot of Italian lingo on the menu). Luckily, with the help of our very friendly and sweet waitress, she was able to give us her recommendations and explain some of the other options to us. We decided to go all out and get started with bread service and the cheese sticks (note: some names of items were more Italian-I'm giving you the English cliff note version). That bread is AMAZING!!!! So fresh and delicious!! I loved the airy texture and simple but yet delicious flavor of the simplicity of fresh ingredients and love. The flake salt on top just hit the nail on the head. As for the cheese sticks, the breading was a softer texture but crispy from the cook. They were very large in size with a fresh cheese inside. Hot and delicious. The theme to this review is definitely how much you can taste the freshness and overall care and dedication this chef has to their food. It comes served with a side of marinara. There were 6 sticks total (our picture was a little late). We ended up choosing a pepperoni pizza (just plain style not the ezzo on the menu with spice and honey-my husband let me have my way), the fiama Marla bolognese, & the kids marinara spaghetti. The pizza was everything and more! Thin but fluffy crust, tons of flavor, cheese was the perfect ratio with a good amount of pepperoni too. It is not overly sauced, which we both enjoyed. Again, super fresh, perfect consistency on the crust and delectable flavor! My son (pickiest eater alive-meaning we had to flip the spaghetti over so that it hid the Parmesan Romano) LOVED his spaghetti! The noodles were more al dente than I cook them, but yet it tasted perfect! Both the hubs and I said we'd totally get the spaghetti with meatballs on our next visit. Now, as for the bolognese, we actually did not care for this one. It had a different, almost bitter taste we couldn't identify. The noodles in it though, so fresh and cooked perfectly!!! Plus, they were thick and delicious like no where else in St. Louis. All the portions were large, even the kids! They are also sauced in the best way, not overly sauced. I think what we figured out was that this place doesn't have to over compensate for anything because they use quality ingredients that they let shine in their cooking-it's that freshness and care that they are able to share the story of real Italian food! We loved that! It definitely shines at Katie's! Our waitress did a great job to come back and check in with us about flavors and any needs we might have-even with two young kids with us, she acknowledged them too. To our surprise when we advised at the boxing stage that we just didn't care for the bolognese, she had her manager come out and he apologized, even though it was our taste we made clear that was probably the issue, not them. In the end, he still comped that plate-not at all necessary, but overly gracious and it really shows of how much their service matters to them. That in itself rates high with us! You just don't find that kind of hospitality anywhere now days. We really felt like we were part of a family coming here to eat. That's just how they treated you. In addition they have a ton of Italian desserts we saved for the next trip, as well as a great wine list and Coke products for drinks. The restrooms were clean and everything was well kept. “Bartolinos South is our favorite nice restaurant. Not only is the food consistently wonderful but they always work to please you. We celebrate all special occasions there. Recently we reserved their front room which holds a max of 16, I believe. They went out of their way to make the setting perfect (even bringing in a small table for our use). Our waiter, Karen, was discreet in providing us perfect service without interrupting our shared conversation/memories as we were toasting a dear friend on her birthday. I can’t say enough about how flawless they made our luncheon. Bartolinos will remain our favorite not only for the quality of the food but for their personal attention.“

“Maggiano's was fantastic! First time visit, and impressed with this old school romantic eatery. Dark wood, real tablecloths, and candels. Our server, Rebecca, was so friendly. Great service and quick with menu answers and recommendations.
Wife ordered the 4 cheese ravioli, and said it was exceptional. It looked great. I ordered Mama's lasagna- with the beef and Italian sausage and herbed ricotta. It was the best lasagna I've ever eaten. It was a great start to the day and I decided to order an adult beverage- a grand Margarita. Folks, if you love Italian Margaritas, you're going to FLIP after trying this drink. Delicious. Portions are on the larger side- be warned. You'll probably need to take some home. And for your sake, save room for dessert!! If you've never tried Creme Brule, you owe it to yourself to eat this. Order dessert first if you have to.. just don't miss out. “A few good options. The Italian beef is good. A little disappointed in the giardiniera. No zest or spicy taste to it. The Binnie's fried potatoes are good, but could be better without the cheap Parmigiano. The meatball sub is good, but nothing special. No fountain soda is also a turn off.“

“I am a loyal customer at all the Lombardo family restaurants, but this location is the best for when you are traveling. I usually call ahead to place an order before or after flying out of the airport and take it to-go because the restaurant is conveniently located across the street from Lambert airport. They have a spacious parking lot and the interior is very nice and upscale (yet not “stuffy”). The food is always cooked to perfection and made fresh with the highest quality ingredients, whether it is a pasta dish, steak, or seafood entree. They are well-known for their homemade toasted ravioli and rightfully so - it is the best in St. Louis! Their caesar salad is to die for and they make their own in-house salad dressings. Oh, and their portions are very generous! Pro tip: call ahead and place a to-go order if you are flying in/out of Lambert but are short on time!“

“You walk in and expect it to be a bar that has a restaurant part, but when you eat the food... it's an Italian restaurant that has a bar. Only reason it lost a star was because it was a little too darkly lit.

“I love Pastaria! We came in to celebrate a birthday. Made a reservation in advance so wait time was pretty short. Our waitress brought us bread to start, and was very attentive throughout. We got super delicious cocktails, and split the Bucatini All' Amatriciana pasta and the Roman pizza. Both were so delicious and quite filling. Everything came so fast too, we were in and out in less than an hour. The low lighting and intimate space make it perfect for a romantic dinner for two. It was a great fancy birthday celebration. Be prepared to drop a pretty penny, but the food and drinks are worth the price tag!

Upon arriving home and noticing, I called, and was told, “you forgot the salad”. I was not given the salad, so don’t think “I” forgot it. The salad was not given to me. So, had to send the husband back 10 minutes to retrieve the salad that “I” forgot. No apology, or anything.“

“Pasta House catered our wedding, and they did an amazing job!!! They made the whole day a breeze! The food was delicious and we had plenty of leftovers!!! My husband and I wanted ice cream for dessert. They placed the order with Ted Drewes, picked it up, and brought it to the venue. They even let my baker bring the cake to them the day of, and they handled it from there. The bar was awesome!! The drinks were delicious and ll the staff from serves to bartenders were so friendly! Our wedding was at the World's Fair Pavillion which has some stricted guidelines/rules which we were worried about. Pasta House took care of all of it and didn't let us worry once about it. They were a dream to work with and I would recommend them to everyone for a delicious and stress free wedding or event!!!“
