“This place was perfect every bit of it can't even find a complaint for this place!! Came thru on a quick business trip wanted some premier bbq and I'll tell anyone this is the place! 4 hours from home for me but I'll be back again soon!!!“
“Joe's is THE barbecue place. I feel legitimately spoiled living so close. Not much to say about this place other than everything is top notch, seriously, seriously delectable and delicious. Service is killer, their 180 Lager hits the spot every single time, and it's tough to beat for a nice bready, somewhat floral lager. Joe's is the benchmark for fantastic 'que near me“
“It's places like this that make our experiences even more special! The food was excellent and even more so for me as a burger fan. The service is excellent and leaves you wanting more…Wheelchair accessibility: Very affordable and super comfortable place“
“My Birthday dinner, I was able to reserve a table for 18 the day before it was tough but they worked with me. Our waiter Corey was AWESOME he was patient & courteous never got an attitude which I can appreciate and took care of all our needs. Great food & great service!!“
“This was my second time trying Kansas City bbq. My initial experience was at Joe’s bbq and that was excellent. Due to this, I had high standards coming here, and while the food was good, it wasn’t quite to the level of Joe’s.I tried the ribs, brisket and burnt ends. The ribs were good, but I wish they had a more smoked taste. Mainly tasted like the bbq sauce or seasoning. The brisket was sadly pretty flavorless. The burnt ends, however, were excellent. The smoke flavor permeated throughout each bite, which is what I look to in my bbq. This was the only dish that surpassed that of Joe’s.“
“Our family had the best experience here! We all ordered a variety of food to share and it was all outstanding! Our waitress was fantastic, she came frequently to make sure everything was going well and gave some great menu recommendations! We all left very full and delighted with our experience.“
“When I went here when Kari's first opened I was pretty disappointed, but I'm glad I gave them time to start their new business and another try a year later! This time the chicken shawarma was delicious, the baba ganoush was delicate and packed with flavor, their lentil soup was beautifully spiced. The pita was soft, with olive oil and zaatar, and the falafel was pretty good too. The atmosphere was great and the service was lovely! Make sure to try their special lemonades!Currently the best middle eastern on W39th!Vegetarian options: Falafel sandwich, lentil soup, baba ganoush, dolma, hummus, pita and more“
“Tried this local Gem for the first time tonight. it was by far the best BBQ my husband and I have ever eaten. The Pork belly burnt ends & brisket were melt in your mouth. The jalapeño sausage were the best my husband has ever had. The BBQ sauce was complimented the meats and was also very good. The street corn salad and lemon slaw were unique and would definitely recommend. Planning our next outing already to this place.“
“This place is AMAZING. We found it by accident as we were driving through on our way north. Hands down the best vegan soul food I have ever tasted. Collard greens were complex and flavorful, the corn bread was absolutely luscious, and the sauce on the vegan brisket was out of this wold. If they were in Minneapolis I'd eat there every single day. The space was bright and cheerful and the staff was incredibly welcoming. What a treat!“
“The food was delicious, plentiful and reasonably priced. Our waitress was sweet and professional. Great for gluten-free dining too! We loved the whole experience!Dietary restrictions: One of us has celiac disease, but there were plenty of delicious gluten-free choices.“
“Came here for a quick bite before a Kansas City game. A family run restaurant with fresh ingredients and friendly service. They have a variety of food options including sandwiches, bbq and tacos. We tried their pork tacos and the pork was full of flavour and spiced deliciously. You can also tell all the ingredients are fresh. A great place to try if you’re in the area or heading to the stadium as it’s not too far from it.“
“We're forever driving past SmokeTown BBQ, commenting that we needed try to it someday. Yesterday was the day! The inside is perfect BBQ decor, wood paneling, tvs, neons, and of course a Kelce Swift cutout that looks like a cute picture opportunity. You order at the counter, and they bring it out. Everyone we encountered was so nice, and the food came out quickly. My first time order is always a brisket/beef sandwich and either onion rings or beans. Although I've heard amazing things about the mac and cheese, we didn't try it. The bun was soft and fluffy, the beef sliced thin (the way I prefer it), and the medium sandwich was the perfect size for me to demolish after skipping lunch. The onion rings were perfectly crispy, and delicious, but I can't confirm if they're made in house, for those who quest for the perfect onion ring. There were regular, sweet, and spicy sauce options, we didn't try the sweet, but liked the regular and the spicy. We'd definitely go back and try more things, especially the mac and piggy, and the smoked Gouda balls.“
“Not only is this the best barbecue in Kansas City by far. This is the best food in Kansas City by far. I am born and raised in Kansas City and I have never had anything like this. I had heard that this is the best in the city, but I didn't believe it. Wonderful customer service, the perfect place to eat, and the best food I have had in Kansas City. Get there early so you can get what you want, but I guarantee anything you get here is going to be astounding. Thank you Chef J, you really have a special place.“
“I stopped to take pictures of the Chiefs paintings (very cool). This place is next to it. I went in and ordered a slab of ribs. Ribs were excellent !! Tim and the customers were very friendly. Nice hangout, nice food, nice people. I'll be back.“
“Food is scrumpdillicious! Staff is friendly, proficient, professional & always available when you're ready for another drink, more rolls, or anything else you may want. All the homemade rolls with honey/cinnamon butter you want at no additional charge. I'm not a big salad eater, but theirs is fresh & so good! Steak is always perfectly cooked (like my blue rare, impossible to get it too rare), & it's always tasty & tender. I always get mashed potatoes with country white gravy. They make their gravy with bacon drippings, so it tastes amazing! One of cheaper steak houses, but quality puts most other places to shame!! My favourite place to eat steak!!!!“
“Very friendly strip mall restaurant, but very clean and efficient. 2 people preparing orders in full view so you see the quality of the items. Service is quick and the food was excellent. It is juicy and tender and reasonably priced. Drove down from Omaha for a day and wanted to try a new place. My son picked it on the drive and we will be back!“
“We shared a combo plate and a chili. Both were great the ribs and brisket were one of the best we have tried in KC this year !!We also bought a smoked turkey for thanksgiving it was great and easy to heat up.I would recommend it if your anywhere near !“
“We arrived right when it opened. We were seated quickly. Waitresses that served us were very attentive. I had the ribeye and ribs combo. It was the best steak I’ve had in a long time. I asked the manager to tell the person who made the steak that it was great. My wife had a rack of ribs and the meat fell off the bone, tender and tasty like ribs should be.“
“New location, good food, decent service. Kitchen was a little slow, but that may not be their fault. Half of our group got their meals 10 minutes ahead of the others. Our group has call-ahead seating, yet we were wedged in a small-ish table. Manager did come check in on us, which was nice.“
“The Off the Hook food truck was at Briarfest this weekend and my tent mate and I decided to give them a try.We both got the pulled brisket sandwich, which came with chips and pickles. The sandwich was huge! The bun was filled with beautifully tender and flavorful pulled brisket. The sauce was sweet and tangy and there was just the right amount. I understand they have a walk up window in Parkville, and are planning to open a brick and mortar later this year at 152 and Green Hills Rd. Highly recommend you give them a try!“
“Walked in and we were greeted with a friendly smile. I wasn’t hungry but my boyfriend wanted some BBQ. Today’s special was burnt ends. I ordered a lb. of smoked brisket because the smell was amazing in this place. I suddenly became hungry LOL!We ordered side dishes of baked beans and fries. Our meal came quickly to our table. The beans were on point, not sweet and not plain. The fries were crunchy and delicious. The burnt ends were spot on. My eyes were bigger than my stomach but I tried to eat 1/2 lb. of the brisket. I’m saving the other half for dinner tomorrow. We were given two types of BBQ sauce (hot/mild) and pickle spears. The waitress told us she had dessert if we were interested. I could see the Neapolitan cake on the counter. It was a beautiful cake. She sold us on the S’mores cake. The restaurants ambiance makes you want to come back have some drinks, great food, talk to the staff and owner. By the way, every other Wednesday they have Kareoke night 6-10 pm. I’m definitely coming back. Look if you’re not into meat that’s great but if you’re into dessert you have to try this place! The cake maker is listed on here too.Ps. We couldn’t wait to eat and that’s why some of the food is gone.Parking: Plenty of free parking in the front, side, and rear of building.Kid-friendliness: There’s coloring pages for the kiddos and kid friendly food. What kiddo doesn’t love fries!“
“10/10 best Korean BBQ in the area. We are frequents here and leave full, happy and have so much fun doing the BBQ. You don’t have to do the BBQ, you can be sat at a normal table and order off the menu and it is also delicious! Very yummy!!“
“Hometown heroes eat the best! Immiators eat the rest. Best Kansas City in the BBQ around town. Real people. Real food. Real good.Parking: Best parking in Kansas!Kid-friendliness: Don't let them learn anywhere else! Good manners!Wheelchair accessibility: Of course!“
“I'm so glad that you guys reopened. This place makes my heart happy! Sean our server was absolutely amazing! The old team is back from before! And it just makes me happy to be able to revisit one of my favorite places that I thought was lost to time, but it makes it all that much better to see the same inviting faces when you go! Congratulations on your reopening! I'll be back very soon!“
“Wish I could give them more stars, the sauce is so yummy and sweet. The seasonings are delicious, monster fries or cheese fries are a must. I wish they were at 63rd/Troost location all the time and I hope they expand so I can eat here more often. Worth the drive and worth the delivery too!“
“We arrived as a group of 9 and all left satisfied. The burgers matched what we had seen on their online menu. Our orders included the Classic Burger, Pork Brisket Sandwich, and Pulled Pork Pigwich. While they appeared small, they were packed. The beef and pork were seasoned well. The patties were not oily like most places and yet still good. The fries were addictively tasty. Despite being full, everyone was eager to help finish the fries that we overordered.“
“Definitely the top 5 BBQ in KC. You don't hear about it when people are talking about KC BBQ like Joe's, Q39 (way over rated), Jack Stack, LC's (my all time favorite), woodyard or many others. But when I have people in from out of town for business trips, I tell them to skip the other well known places and try RJs. Prices are great, the habanero BBQ sauce is best in the city. Plus it's near my house. Love to go in, sit at the bar, watch a game, have a beer and some amazing BBQ. Great neighborhood feel. Give it a shot. Best little secret in Mission.“
“I am not a fan of cowboy deco, or country music so I order to-go, mostly. That said, the food is always delicious at this location and they are good at fulfilling special requests (sauces and stuff on the side so food stays crispy, etc.) to make sure it stays that way. This location is well maintained, clean, and the hosts and wait staff are always friendly!“
“This is one of the best BBQ places around Kansas City. It is up there with Arthur Bryants and Gates. The food is good, although they seemed to run out of fries each time we went. Everybody has always seemed to enjoy whatever we get there, be it the ribs or some kind of sandwich. The most recent time I went, I got a ham sandwich, and I could maybe eat half of it. The portions are well sized. Since they ran out of fries a few orders ahead of us, I got the jalapeno poppers, which aren't really my thing. In my experience, the fries are just the normal kind of greasy fry you'd expect from a gem BBQ off some sketchy area in KC. The atmosphere got 4/5 because sometimes the ventilation doesn't work 100%, and the smoke from the big smoker fills up the place. Great place overall, reccomend you visit.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp on the inside if you'd like to easily get down to the floor to order food.“
“This is a Gladstone institution. The service was outstanding, fast, friendly, and accurate. I tired the smoked catfish and highly recommend. It was flavorful and the texture was great too. I sampled what others had and it was all good. The burnt ends, super crispy, and baked beans are all delicious. We got the mac and cheese appetizer with pulled pork instead of burnt ends. All delicious! The decor is a bit dated and somewhat worn but overall great experience.“
“A guest and I came in to try out the restaurant. I had recently had surgery and was looking for soft foods. My guest was in the mood for burnt ends and steak fries. No disappointment!! I chose the salmon, steamed veggies, and the baked beans. It was seasoned with lots of flavor and cooked to perfection. Thank you for having a variety of options.“
“I'm not a huge fan of sports bars but when your in Kc you gravitate toward BBQ. Glad I made it past the sports part because the food was great and service at the bar was top notch. Highly recomend the Carolina pulled pork the slaw realy set it off and be sure to try the spicey sauce.?? ps they have Dunkel on tap .“
“An often overlooked place in one of the great BBQ destination cities, which has always puzzled me. They are consistently good with any dish that I order, there's always plenty of places to sit and park, and it's easy to find. If you traveled to the city to get a taste of the great barbecue joints, skip one of the ones that are always on the tourism lists and go here instead. You won't be disappointed.“
“I stopped by on the way to Montana to grab a quick bite and they were under construction. I told them I was just passing by and they offered to fry some fish up for me. I loved the hospitality they showed, I love the batter on the fish, it's well seasoned and very crispy. I didn't get to try anything else unfortunately, but if it's fried and has the same batter it'll be delicious regardless of what it is. Next time I'm driving through, I'll have to stop by again.“
“I ordered bbq for 25 from the catering menu to be picked up. I ordered the day before and it was super easy. Guess what? If you call them with a question, they pick up! The food was packaged perfectly, along with serving utensils, plates and individual utensil packs. The food was delicious and the amount was just right. I am going to order for every party. I was actually able to have fun, instead of working myself to death. Thank you, Dickies!!!!“
“Rosedale Bar-B-Q is (in mine and my family's opinion) the ABSOLUTE BEST in everything! I recently moved back to Oklahoma, and NOTHING compares! I LOVE hot BBQ sauce. And Oklahoma just does NOT have it! I'm a "burnt end girl. I can go in ANYTIME, and they have my burnt ends!(Have tried several different places, and nope!) LOVE MY Rosedale Bar-B-Q! I really miss it!Wheelchair accessibility: Very spacious. Easily accessible for wheelchairs.“
“We ate here for the first time during busy Halloween haunt. They were so fast. Our food was perfect. They even had chicken strips and fries for my kids. You can get a 1,2 or 3 meat platter. With the Gold pass you get the one meat platter. I chose brisket and fruit. They had 3 choices for BBQ sauce sweet, original or spicy. I got original. My brisket was so delicious. The chicken strips and fries were awesome. We had some of their waffle fries. My youngest is the pickiest kid ever and tore down the Mac and cheese. The meals average 21.99- 26.99. We have the gold pass with 2 free meals a day so we just got our food scanned and ate. Will definitely eat here again.“
“In town from Florida for the holidays, and by chance found this gem of a place. I’m used to Barbecue joints every mile in Tampa, the smell kind of turns the stomach. But I wanted KC Barbecue, Dickey’s did not disappoint!!! The Brisket Sandwich was excellent! Mac and Cheese was just the right size to go with it! The topper was the Chili Cheese Fries!! I will definitely make this restaurant a staple for my travels! The staff is very friendly and the restaurant itself is quite cozy!!!“
“Amazing place!Very good quality in the food. And the flavor it's amazing. It's a little bit far from the city but It's a good place to eat and share with friends. It is an amazing place, the food is very very good, excellent quality of the ingredients. And the flavor is incomparable. The food has excellent seasoning and is seasoned just right. It is a little far from the city but it is worth coming and spending some time with friends.“
“I went there this past weekend and the food was excellent. Of course I think it had a lot to do with how amazing our server Logan was! She was one of a kind and I don’t think I’ve ever experienced service as well as hers. Definitely consider changing it to Famous Logan’s!“
“It is very beautiful. We thank you for the law and order for nutritional advice and good food. Thank you, my dear brother.Wheelchair accessibility: شكرا عزيزتي على النظام والقانون للاستشارات الادارية والمالية والاقتصاد والتسويق الطعام النظيف وتقديري واحترامي لك“
“The food was good. Not the best I've had, but certainly not the worst. I'm from California so I guess I'm a little picky when it comes to my tacos. I will say that out of the dozens of authentic Mexican food restaurants I've been to, this is the place I keep going back to. There are several places that are close, but I like the food better at Taqueria Mexico Lindo“
“Simply amazing. The food. The customer service. The serving size. The price. My boyfriend and I were thoroughly impressed. I forgot to leave a review yesterday and made time today to come back and finish this. Yes. It’s that good. I’m not from here so it was very refreshing to have such great service. Food did not take long. And it was GREAT“
“If you're coming for bar-b-que, my picky husband said it's some of the very best he's ever had and it would be hard to beat. If you don't eat meat or are a pescatarian like me, this is probably not the place for you. My salad was nothing fancy, very basic, yet was $20. Not worth it at all. But my husband loved this place so much that I had to give it a 5 star rating. The drinks from the bar were good and only $9, which I thought was great compared with so many other places.“
“My favorite item at Gates is the nooner sandwich... it's so satisfying. Piled high with two cuts of meats and their BBQ sauce is top notch also. I pile on the sauce after every bite.... it's tangy and tasty. On top of that you pay under 10 dollars for the nooner.. that in my book is a deal! Also they provides all customers with free coffee.. and great customer service. Being a long time kansas citian, I remember decades ago I actually ran into Mr. Gates and his wife. Coming back to Gates always brings a little nostalgia for me. I guess this is what KC BBQ is all about. This a must try place.“
“This is how a BBQ place should look like. Smokey, BBQ smell permeated into everything, no frills, no fuss. The BBQ was excellent. The sauce was ok, nothing like anywhere else. Had a tomato soup taste. Not too sweet. They don't do burnt ends daily, so I had the brisket and ribs. Both were very good. Wife had turkey, good, moist, and almost perfect. Try it I'm sure you'll like it as well. I do base my BBQ on as good, better than or worse than Rosedale, and I would pick Rosedale over this, but it has been around forever, they have to be doing something right.“
“Let me start by saying that I had read some reviews about the service being terrible and that the people here were rude. It made me a bit hesitant, but I still wanted to try the food. When we got there yesterday, a woman was on her way out of the establishment yelling that the staff were racist and treated her terribly. I walked in with a blank slate because I didn't want anyone else's opinions to dictate my experience. I will say that the staff are straightforward and they're not going to treat you like you're special, but they were nice and patient with us and treated us like everyone else. I actually liked the experience. It didn't feel fake or pandering. The customers in line were so nice and helped us and we were laughing and having a good time. The food: I got a beef on bun with fries and the hot seasoning. Both the fries and beef on bun were incredible. The meat was smoky and tender and I loved the sauce. Not too much, not too little. The fries were thick cut and cooked to perfection. Crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. The seasoning was amazing. It had a hint of Cinnamon or nutmeg which I enjoyed very much. Not too spicy, just spicy enough. Salty and savory and it had a great flavor profile. We dined in and we were the only ones in the dining area. It had a very cool, swanky sort of prohibition vibe. The fans were all on pulleys which I thought was a very unique and interesting touch. Overall, a great experience.“
“Stopped and had lunch at this establishment! My husband and I like to try different BBQ places around the KC area. This has definitely been one of our favorites. The amazing customer service started the moment we walked in the door. The selection of menu items were very unique and delicious! After we finished our lunch our server came by with our check and that’s when we let her know that this was our first visit. We were quick to let her know that we were very satisfied with the service and the food. Before we finished paying for our lunch the owner stopped by our table. This is something we do not experience at a lot of places. While we were visiting with him our server came back to the table with a few samples of some of their side dishes. This is what I love about the small businesses that we love to support! See you all real soon at F325 BBQ.“
