“Our server Josh (yes, coincidence) nailed it. Attentive but not overbearing. The cocktails were a hit too, and I'd recommend the Apple Bottom Jeans and the Violet Mojito.My wife and I stuck to small plates as we weren't in the mood for large plates. The lobster roll was out of this world, and while it looks small, they manage to pack so much delectable lobster into it. The pork belly was also incredible though it was light on the amount of pork belly in it. The spam fried rice was really good. The chili flakes elevate the entire plate, but if you don't like spicy food, I might suggest you get something else. Finally, the cheddar biscuits...they weren't very good. They were a bit tough, not fluffy, and were portioned in a way that made them awkward to eat (too tall). I would not recommend the biscuits. But overall, great experience, 4.5/5.“

“The owner Mike, was a delightful man and walked my boyfriend and I through his menu. We ended up sharing a full rack rib combo with a quarter pound of brisket and homemade applesauce topped with cinnamon. I've always been picky with BBQ because it's hard to find good ribs, but this place really was probably the best ribs I'd ever had. Not only were they "fall off the bone" but they were perfectly flavored with their apple butter BBQ glaze. They close early too sometimes due to selling out so make sure you go early!“

“First time here. We made reservations in advance and found parking to be convenient. The restaurant's décor was warm and inviting, with white subway tiles behind the bar and blue banquettes around the dining area. The bartender was really knowledgeable and offered excellent recommendations. For starters, we had blue crab gratin and hand-cut steak tar tar, both for $12. The crab was spicy and creamy, and the tar tar was presented alongside warm dollops of slow-cooked egg yolk. They were both gorgeous. Our main dish was gnocchi with lamb ragu and goat cheese, which cost $18. The creamy goat cheese was the ideal compliment to the lamb ragu, and the gnocchi had a nice soft center. The portions were just right, and we left feeling satisfied. Very positive atmosphere, friendly staff, delicious cocktails as well. If you want to seal a good day with a good mood, head here.“

“We were excited to try the Tavern tonight for the first time. We were a bit underwhelmed. I only got 3 scallops for a $45 entree (even Disney will give you 4 for the same price). Additionally, the fries and baked cookie had a burnt aftertaste from the oven. For $150, we thought it was significantly overpriced for what we got.“

“Great service and regulars with burgers that blow away many of the more mainstream competitors. Needless to say it is a bar with all that comes with that but don't let that sway you from tasting the simple but complex burges, pizza and cheezsteaks they cook up.Relaxing, fun atmosphere that could lean a bit more on the DB Cooper briefcase carrying suited criminal of lore.“

“Five starts in every way! Adorable space, impeccable service, and delightful food and drink! I brought a friend and two older adults. We each had something different--biscuits and gravy, the stuffed French toast, and a burger. Everyone loved everything. We also had drinks. I love my gin and tonic and the black pepper and? Bloody Mary was delicious. I also took some sandwich cookies and some gooey butter cake home! Perfection! I can't wait to come back to the Blue Duck!“

“Really great food without all of the grease that you usually get with fried food. Not only do they have top notch chicken (probably the best in St Louis), but they also have really good fish and shrimp. They have frog legs! I haven't tried them yet but judging by their other food they're probably as exceptional as they look. They have good portions on the yummy sides, as well. The okra is prepared and cooked correctly- not slimy or greasy at all. The staff is super friendly and courteous. It's a nice atmosphere to dine in; adequate seating and eclectic decorations. Not fast food in quality and ambiance, but close to fast food speed getting your order.“

“Wow! This place was soo cool. I found it via Google search for a good Cuban sandwich. I realized that I came here as a child when it was just a bar. The atmosphere is soo cool inside. The food is the best part though. The Cuban honestly did not impress me visually, but when I took a bite... oh my! The pork butt was soo good. My mom had the famous Picadilly fish. She wanted to try the Mayfair salad, but didn't want the whole salad so they made her a side salad with Mayfair dressing. They make this dressing in house and its amazing. I had a cup of Gumbo with my sandwich and it was soo good. I forgot to get a picture of it, but I have to believe it was homemade. I will definitely come back. You should come try it too.“

“I must have come on an off day, but my eggs Benedict was not good. The hollandaise was broken, and one of the eggs was undercooked. The sourdough bread was fantastic, and the cappuccino was delicious. The potatoes and salad on the side was fine. I would come back but get a different entree. The person next to me got pancakes and they looked delicious.“

“I gave it 4 instead of 5 because the waitress wasn’t the best. She didn’t even give us plates with our appetizers ? we got no refills, no straws and the food was cold. Idk the atmosphere was good but the service could have been a bit better. I feel like she saw she didn’t get a tip when I was paying because she said “hope you enjoyed my service” and by that point there wasn’t a need in discussing it.“

“I am VERY biased as I work at The Barn... but I think this place is the bomb! “MUST VISIT IN STL! Coming from NYC, this is hands down one of the best spots I’ve been to lately from the drinks, food, service, and all around vibes. They put an incredible amount of detail into everything and it shows. The craft cocktails are innovative, yet approachable, and extremely well-balanced. They also carry a unique variety of spirits on the menu that you can’t find anywhere else.One drink I especially loved and recommend is the Budgy Smuggler made with their housemade clarified milk. You can also order off the entire Yellowbelly food menu (sister restaurant next door) and every dish we tried was amazing. Get the raw and hot fried oysters, beef fat fries, lump crab fritters, elote taquitos, brussels, charred carrots, pork belly, green curry salmon, and grilled hangar steak. Everything was cooked perfectly and the flavors were so unique.This should be a must stop if you’re in STL and also a great event space. I can’t wait to go back!“

Good cocktails too!WAIT TIME: We had a dinner reservation for a larger party for 7:30 on a Saturday and we were seated immediately.FOOD: I ordered the classic burger and the guava lamp drink. The burger was very tasty and the fries are delicious! Would recommend. I heard from others in my party that the chicken sandwich was very tasty as well. The guava lamp drink was quite interesting looking, and it had decent taste. It was somewhat unique so only get if you’re ready to try some new flavor combos. It was very strong too.SERVICE: QR code menu was easy to access, and our server was attentive, often asking if we needed drink refills.AMBIANCE: The decor and layout works well, it’s a more modern look with lots of pretty lights and a bar. “I had lunch a Beyond Sweet and I would highly recommend you stop by for a delicious meal. The owner, Dallas, was attentive to the patrons, the ambiance was nice, the staff is diverse, and the food was delicious. This is a different vibe for STL so go out and support this restaurant.“

“Last night , I spent hours searching for the best restaurants in St Louis and I stumbled upon this one. The reviews were amazing and let me tell you, the reviews were correct. Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. We tried the bulgogi and rice bowl, the charred wings, and cheese fries. We also tried a peach shot, they didn’t taste strong but the results were. I normally don’t visit a restaurant more than once but I’ll be a repeat customer anytime that I’m in town. I also loved the customer service. The woman taking my order was very cheery and made me feel welcomed. Many of the customers are repeat customers that were also talkative and welcoming. I’ve been to hundreds of restaurants and this one is definitely in my top 5.“

“I could go on and on about how great the food is, but what really sets them apart is the service. Every person that I've run into appears to genuinely like working there. Just makes for an overall enjoyable experience and obvious that the owners treat them well. And the patrons benefit from that. So happy to have them in the neighborhood.“

“By far me and my husband’s favorite place to get food hands down. We have eaten here many times and i have had just about everything on the menu at this point and I have not been disappointed with a single thing. By far my favorite thing here is the ribeye dinner meal for the price it’s wonderful and extremely filling. Being open late on weekends has come in clutch many times when it’s late and don’t want to cook for myself.“

“Celebrated our 36th anniversary here. We shared the shrimp ceviche, truffle fries and a bottle of champagne. I feasted on the salmon pad Thai while my husband had the Denver Waygu steak. A complementary flourless chocolate torte topped off a fantastic meal. David is the best server! Thank you for sharing our special evening with us!“

“I’ll probably finish writing my novel because of Black Mountain. Perfect spot to relax and get some work done on a Sunday. It’s not a laptop spot per they don’t make it weird if it’s not too crowded. Great select of wines, great fries - feels like you’re in northern france or Belgium or even central west end at duffs or coffee cartel (iykyk)… extra bonus for the literal wood fire aromas soothing everyone’s soul“

“seriously the best chicken i’ve ever had. this place is so severely underrated. theirs never anyone in their but i PROMISE you won’t be disappointed. the food is always fresh & hot. the service is always wonderful. everything on the menu is BOMB. fried pickles are fire, street corn is fire, fries are fire, coleslaw belongs in the trash, potato salad is fire. overall amazing place & i highly recommend to anyone in the kirkwood are wanting fresh hot juicy chicken!Parking: parking directly across the street & a parking lot on the right before you get to heaterz.Kid-friendliness: open restaurant with tables or they have outside dining on their patioWheelchair accessibility: ramp on sidewalk & plenty of space around the tables for a wheelchair“

“we came for brunch from out of town. I made a reservation and I definitely recommend doing so, I'm vegan and my guest is omi but both of us loved the meal. I had a delicious latte and the chorizo dish while my guest had the big breakfast. The service was great and everything was wonderful about our meal. Definitely want to return and try dinner!“

“The Food was really good exceptional even better than I expected. The rice was fluffy not dry with bean sprouts onion green pepper and eggs I got special loaded with meat. The wings were on point and I will def be back. The service was fast and friendly and the food was served hot and fresh. “Been enjoying The Royale most weeks since 2015. Best bar and restaurant in town. A gem. Chill tavern vibes, DJs, local art, gorgeous courtyard, old movies, vinyl records, and a stellar menu. Owner Steve is the best. Get the fish tacos, a fresh margarita, a local beer, or whatever you’re into. Hell, I’m about to head there right now writing this review. I’m not even joking.“

“This is not exactly a place to go for a meal . It's a place to go for a beer and if you get hungry, they offer some yummy choices to go with your drink. Small with some tables and a bar, pool table, a neighborhood stop with that Smokey bar ambiance. Menus at the table, ordering at the bar. Burgers, hot dogs, and some surprise choices on menu like hummus, falafel, chopped salad. Portions small, prices fairly reasonable, service friendly. I enjoyed a small salad with a requested change of falafel instead of chicken. No problem and tastey with a hot honey squirt on top.If you're in the area , a nice stop for a beer and a nosh.“

“The staff was really nice and inviting. I love how they create their raviolis where you can see them. You get 4 for $10 and you can try two different flavors so the price isn’t bad at allThe ravioli are stuffed to the max. I got the cheese ravs and the jalapeño popper ravs. Cheese ravs were yummy maybe a bit more seasoning needed on inside. The poppers were good and had a nice spice. I also got the maple pecan gooey butter cake rav. It was awesome! But definitely have some water on the side because it is sweet!“

“Our first time here and it was great! Our server Genesis was sweet, bubbly, and attentive. The food was fantastic! Had burrata salad (off menu special), the Tiger rolls, and brisket dipper. Other than the au jus being a little too salty (which is prob normal, I don’t like things that are too salty) would eat it all again it was so good! And the servings are huge, we have enough leftovers for two more meals. The cocktails were also terrific- it’s hard to find a Vieux Carré outside the French Quarter but they make a good one! Sazarac was also delicious. Will be recommending this place to others and will definitely be back!“

“My parents and I always enjoy having dinner at Big Sky. The food and drinks are amazing. The service is always wonderful. Unfortunately, we had dinner reservations for Saturday evening. The restaurant was packed which was expected. Our server was triple seated and overwhelmed. Now as a former hostess I felt completely bad for the server. Also we were seated next to a loud group of guests. So my parents and I had a hard time making conversations with each other.“

“I made a lunch reservation online for my mom's birthday about a week in advance, they made sure to accommodate all special requests that were submitted along with it. The hostess and our waiter both wished her a happy birthday upon greeting us and sat us in from of the window as previously requested. We ordered crispy Brussels sprouts and a couple sandwiches to share. Everything was served in a timely manner, courses were spread evenly apart. The atmosphere is light, open and spacious. I absolutely love the floor to ceiling windows and all the natural light. We had a great time and they gave us a complementary birthday treat. Our waiter made a point to ask if we were members of the museum and applied our membership discount to our bill. I thought that was extremely kind of him especially because I did not realize that was a perk and wouldn't have known to ask. 10/10“

“My spouse and I celebrated here. She had the Shrimps and Grits and the Berry Goat cheese salad. I had the Grilled Salmon and Lobster and sausage gumbo. “Step back in time, in the best way! We were in the area and searched Jewish deli to find a bagel and schmear and were pleasantly surprised to find this old school kosher deli. We had the bagel and lox with some STL Goat chips. We also had a bagel with meat and mustard. We hadn't had fresh kosher hard salami like this since the 80s n NY and Long Island. If you want to try Protzels I would suggest calling in your order. There was a steady stream of to go orders going out tge door.“

“We stayed at the Cheshire hotel and were fortunate to have Basso on the premises! We met a friend here the first night of our stay. The restaurant is in the basement. The atmosphere was inviting with gas lit wall lights, a center bar with booths and high tops. Autumn was a wonderful server. She was so pleasant and informative. We really enjoyed having her as our server. Happy hour is from 4 to 6. We tried the fried meatballs, which were great. The lemon ravioli and the shrimp pasta dish were both delicious. Prices were reasonable. When you dine, the food taste and quality are top priority, but when the food is phenomenal and the service and atmosphere are just as good, it makes the experience memorable. We ended up returning on our second night! Julie was our server and we really enjoyed her, too. She was helpful and interested in our satisfaction! We tried the Brussel sprouts, an heirloom salad with delicious bread. Our entrees were the butcher steak and the burger. The steak was wood fired and super tender! The burger was delicious. The fries and shishito peppers were very good. We highly recommend this hidden gem and thank Autumn and Julie for making our stay in St. Louis so memorable! Oh, try the Secret Door specialty drink, a next level Old Fashioned“
