“Oh wow, this place is so wonderful. An absolutely beautiful space, really attentive and friendly staff, and delicious food. We had two cocktails, the barbacoa (favorite), ceviche (favorite), octopus and arepes (both really good). Also had the bread pudding for dessert and it was to die for!! Pricey ($150 for two), but definitely worth it for special occasions. Highly recommend this lovely restaurant! PS. Lots of GF options.”

You know, I thought I was just ordering dinner, but what I really got was a front-row seat to the theater of fast-food failure.

The so-called "Meal"? Oh, it was anything but. No fries, no nuggets, no sauces—just a sad little box of regret. It was less of a meal and more of a scavenger hunt where the prize was nothing.

And the McFlurry? Let’s just say it was more McPuddle. It melted faster than my faith in humanity, which is impressive considering how quickly McDonald's ice cream machines usually break in the first place.

But the real kicker? The sheer confidence with which this incomplete mess was handed over, as if I wouldn’t notice half my food was missing. I’ve seen more effort put into an “I’m sorry” text from a flaky friend.

McDonald's, I don’t expect fine dining, but I do expect the food I paid for. If you need help remembering that fries go with the meal, maybe hire a food coach or a motivational speaker—someone, anyone—to inspire basic competence.

“We stopped by on a whim headed to dinner for my daughter's birthday. We were greeted with a very warm welcome from the staff and the atmosphere was very nice. The selection was more than I expected, they had exactly what we needed for our small party. We got an assortment of cupcakes and a slice of cake that look absolutely amazing. We never expected to walk in and find ready made cakes. in fact when my daughter asked about it, i told her it was a fake display cake - I was so shocked that it was indeed a strawberry shortcake. We left with the 6 cupcakes, 1 slice of cake and that absolutely beautiful cake. Not only was the cake beautiful, it tasted just amazing as it looked. We shared a piece with our server at the restaurant and she raved about it as well. We have had the cupcakes or slice of cake yet, but I'm certain it will not disappoint!”

I got the brisket and grits brunch option and WOW! The brisket was perfect and I'm typically pretty picky about meat quality. I also order grits anytime I go out to breakfast/brunch, because they are my favorite, and these were hands-down some of the best I've ever had! The only ones that came close were what I've had in New Orleans. 10/10 would come back to Durham just for this restaurant! We also got the beignets and my partner got the eggs Benedict with fried green tomatoes + blue crab! Everything was delicious! I just truly cannot emphasize enough how I will be dreaming of their brisket and grits until I can come back again.”

“Far and away one of my favorite places to take people in Durham when they visit us. Everyone who works there is so friendly. Their inside is cozy and decorated festive depending on season. Their rooftop is great and as a bonus, they offer blankets for when it gets cold. Limited food menu but what I've eaten has been good (I'm not personally going here to eat though) I'm going for their fun drinks, both cocktails and mocktails, and the view.
I do see people coming for the first time sometimes get discombobulated as to where to find it. Go in the building and take elevator and you'll see an open peachy pink door that leads to their bar.”

Next time I’ll likely ask for the new potatoes to be well done since I prefer them crispier. My friend ordered the Chickichanga minus chorizo, also with new potatoes. The highlight of our a Sunday brunch was the service by Jill! She was a breath of fresh air; friendly, prompt service, attentive, and genuine. I’ll be back, and be sure to ask for Jill by name!”

We were very pleasantly surprised to find it newly decorated and my husband's huevos rancheros were once again proclaimed "really good" (he is Mexican) even though they were out of rice. My Connie Benedict was perfect. The Hollandaise sauce had returned to its previous creaminess and the eggs were perfectly done. Not sure if the new decor is responsible for the acoustics, but it was very noisy”

I’m reading theses comments and see folk just mad u had to wait. Staff was working churning out orders and I notice no one had an attitude except folk who want something quick fast in a hurry. It had a wait but I can tell you most customers were ordering at least 3 plates. Everyone was enjoying the vibe and just relax. I rather wait on my food and make sure it right. I drove by at 4:47pm on Saturday and the line was out to the boa boa lunch buffet and when I got back at 6 pm there was a line to boa boa. I will be back and hope the folk who in a hurry realize they would wait an 30 min to hour to be seated and 45 min for the food to be prepared give this establishment some grace. The reason I’m passionate about this is when I got home, I was throughly impressed with my food and ate off my families plate. I glad my wife wanted to go. I would gladly stand in line again so I can get another chance to eat.”

His appearance was greatly appropriate to include his clothing. He represented this company with the upmost professionalism. The foods were outstanding in being tasty and prepared just like the photos looked on the menu. We also had outstanding assistance from two workers who were restocking the gifts displayed in the lobby. Their interactions with us boosted my confidence in purchasing some gifts that we would have normally just walk over and never giving a thought in purchasing gifts from them. My wife and I will continue to be visiting that location whenever I happen to be in the area of their location.”
